Aaron Industrial Marketplace Auction Platform Targets New Niche for 2012

AIM Auction Platform Focusing on Businesses that Need to Liquidate Equipment Fast

Chicago, IL – February 5, 2012 – Following a highly successful effort last month to quickly liquidate a going-out-of-business heat treating metal parts manufacturer, Aaron Industrial Marketplace (AIM) realized that it had unearthed an overlooked niche. The auction platform provider immediately set its sights on serving businesses in a similar situation. That accomplishment has fueled AIM to make plants and manufacturing facilities that are closing their doors and must therefore sell off their assets fast an additional corporate focus in 2012.

The Aaron Industrial Marketplace has been in business for over two years now, and in that timeframe it has helped numerous businesses turn their excess equipment and machinery into cash. The venture into rapid liquidation of equipment is therefore more of an extension of its already proven business model rather than a brand new direction.

“We’ve always targeted businesses that had equipment to sell but didn’t have the expertise to get it sold themselves. Now all we’re doing is adding a lack of time to that equation,” explains company spokesperson Bruce Baird. “We offer a turnkey solution to convert excess machinery to cash, and we have the know-how and experience to get it done fast.”

Speed and expert assistance aren’t the only reasons a business should consider the AIM platform as a means of selling off its excess inventory, though. The Aaron Industrial Marketplace team’s ability to get the job done with minimal interruption to normal operations is another. But perhaps the most compelling one is AIM’s capability to maximize a business’s profits on such sales.

“Before an auction gets underway, we take the time to talk to business owners one on one. During that interaction, we’re able to give them a better understanding of what their equipment is really worth. Oftentimes, AIM sees more value in tangible assets than the actual business owners do. As a result, we can help them secure the most money for their equipment,” Baird adds.

What’s more, the amount of equipment needing to be liquidated is not an issue for AIM. The Aaron Industrial Marketplace has the capability to sell individual production pieces all the way to complete plants, even under tight deadlines. In less than 30 days, the company was able to sell off all the leftover assets of a soon-to-close heat treating plant and leave behind a clean building.

Business owners who need to clear out excess machinery and equipment in a hurry can learn more about what the Aaron Industrial Marketplace has to offer online at http://www.AaronIndustrialMarketplace.com. For more information on the auction platform that is now focusing on easing the asset liquidation process, contact Bruce Baird at (510) 452-7858.

###

Aaron Equipment Company Helping Organic Manufacturers Stay Green from Start to Finish

New and Used Process and Packaging Machinery Friendly for Organic Manufacturing

Chicago, IL – January 14, 2012 – When most consumers purchase an item marketed as organic, they do so under the assumption that it is manufactured, from start to finish, in a way that is not only chemical free but also kind to the environment. And while the product may be grown on a small farm without use of pesticides, there are many other steps in the production process that can interfere with the organic movement’s overall aims. One of those steps is packaging and processing. Fortunately, machinery like that which Aaron Equipment Company sells and reconditions ensures green manufacturers maintain their organic ideals, even when they package and process their products.

Last week, the “New York Times” ran a blog post begging the question “It’s Organic, but Is It Natural?” Therein, the article pointed out, “Today, a global food supply chain can increasingly provide every type of produce every day of the year, organic or conventional, in many places in the United States.” In the process of that transport, however, carbon dioxide is being emitted into the atmosphere, a tendency that doesn’t exactly align with the overall green movement.

The aforementioned report was a follow-up to another “New York Times” article titled “Organic Agriculture May Be Outgrowing Its Ideals.” Published in the Environment section, this piece called attention to an often overlooked consideration: “But even as more Americans buy foods with the organic label, the products are increasingly removed from the traditional organic ideal: produce that is not only free of chemicals and pesticides but also grown locally on small farms in a way that protects the environment.”

While Aaron Equipment Company can’t control the size or local commitment of organic manufacturers or even the manner in which they get their products into consumers’ hands, it can ensure those consumers that one vital aspect of the manufacturing process is in complete alignment with the traditional organic ideal, as put forth in the aforementioned newspaper report. More specifically, it helps organic manufacturers stay true to the ideal throughout all stages of packaging / processing their products.

“Every product that end consumers taste, touch or use comes in contact with packaging and processing equipment before it reaches them,” explains Aaron Equipment spokesperson, Steven Cohen. “Therefore, to remain 100% true to its organic mission, an organic manufacturer has to pay strict attention to how its products are packaged and processed.” He adds, “Because every piece of processing and packaging machinery we sell – be it new, used or reconditioned – is in complete alignment with the green movement, our clientele reads like a who’s who of the organic industry’s membership.”

To learn more about Aaron Equipment Company and its organic-friendly lineup of packaging, material handling, mixing, drying, construction, screening and agricultural equipment, visit http://www.aaronequipment.com/.
Aaron Industrial Marketplace Looks Forward to Another Successful Year of Online Equipment Bidding

AIM Auction Platform Aims to Keep Its Sales Momentum Going in 2012

Chicago, IL – Aaron Industrial Marketplace (AIM) ends 2011 on a high note, with full anticipation of an even more successful 2012. The online auction platform that is devoted to the sale of used, new and reconditioned-to-new equipment wound down the clock on 15 auctions this past year, all of which exceeded the company’s goals and expectations.

Among the highlights of the year-long bidding frenzy were a tank and vessel lot in January that sold at an average of 15 percent above the expected auction value. Aaron Industrial Marketplace followed up that 2011 opener with a quartet of successes in February, including a toner (pulverized) manufacturing equipment auction that drew in 34 registered bidders from the U.S. and abroad. With the winners hailing from four different countries, this auction solidified AIM’s international process equipment auction presence.

Even a tight niche, a potato processing auction in March proved a pleasant surprise in terms of both its sell-through rate and the dollar amount recorded. More recently, when the company’s nutraceutical equipment auction closed in October, it proved the most successful auction conducted through the bidding arena to date.

AIM owes at least part of these successes to the new features it introduced to its auction platform in 2011. In particular, the addition of a “Buy It Now” capability attracted bidders wishing to close a deal instantly. Company spokesperson Bruce Baird explains, “We received great feedback on this functionality, which we anticipate to propel us forward into a banner 2012.”

If the 2012 Aaron Industrial Marketplace calendar is any indication, Baird’s predictions will easily hold true. The company already has 14 auctions scheduled for the New Year, with plans to hold at least one per month throughout the year. Those currently on tap for 2012 encompass equipment from a wide range industries, including food processing and packaging, chemical, test equipment, chemical processing equipment, and sheet and plastic molding equipment.

“We are anxiously looking forward to extending the momentum we sparked in 2011 into 2012 and beyond,” Baird notes. “Based on the continually growing interest in the AIM platform, we’ll be booking even more auctions this upcoming year than we did last year.”

Buyers and sellers of equipment who would like to learn more about what the Aaron Industrial Marketplace has in store for 2012 can check out all the upcoming auctions online at www.AaronIndustrialMarketplace.com. For more information on the platform enhancements that catapulted AIM to its 2011 successes, contact Bruce Baird at (510) 452-7858.

AEK Packaging Expands Its Warehouse for Second Time in 2011

Demand for Used Packaging Equipment Necessitates Continued Increase in Storage Space

Bensenville, IL – December 15, 2011 – On December 1, 2011, AEK Packaging Equipment completed another expansion of its climate-controlled warehouse. This milestone marked the second time this year a global increase in the demand for its like-new, reconditioned and used packaging equipment has prompted the company to increase its storage space. Back in March, AEK doubled its warehouse to 100,000 square feet. This latest growth has brought that number up to 150,000 square feet, resulting in a 200 percent augmentation in warehouse size over last year’s square footage of 50,000.

This rapid development differentiates AEK Packaging from the majority of American businesses. Last week, the Associated Press reported, “U.S. service firms expanded in November at slower pace.” Indeed, the index of service activity in the country “was the lowest since January 2010.” Adding to this dim picture was a Department of Commerce revelation in late November that “U.S-based multinational corporations added almost 3 million jobs to their payrolls in foreign countries between 1999 and 2009, while slashing 864,600 jobs at home.”

AEK Packaging Equipment is a relatively new company that was formed expressly to leverage the combined expertise, financial resources and global reach of Aaron Equipment Company Inc. and Kendell Equipment. Banking on that partnership goal has paid off, with AEK’s global marketplace presence having resulted in unprecedented demand for the company’s used, reconditioned and like-new packaging equipment.

“When we entered the marketplace, our goal was to provide the highest-quality packaging equipment, with the most dependable service, at competitive prices,” explains company spokesperson, KC Christensen. “The fact that we’ve had to substantially increase our warehouse space since then is a testament to our ability to achieve that goal.”

Christensen goes on to add, “While we are proud of that growth, we’re even prouder of the fact that we’ve been able to reach a worldwide customer base while keeping operations – and jobs – right here in the U.S. Our newly expanded warehouse is conveniently located just five minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.”

Now triple its original size at 150,000 square feet, the expanded warehouse allows the company to better showcase its diverse inventory of new, reconditioned-to-new and used equipment. The centralized location also enables AEK Packaging Equipment to merchandise its 125 categories of machinery in a manner that makes it easy for customers to inspect it, be it onsite or via video online. In addition, thanks to the increased climate-controlled storage space, the company can maintain in-stock inventory of spare and change parts. That means customer requests are fulfilled and shipped promptly – usually in about a week.

Packaging equipment users who would like to learn more about the reconditioned and used equipment that will be filling the newly expanded AEK Packaging Equipment warehouse can do so online at http://www.aekpack.com. Interested media may arrange a company interview by calling (630) 238-2660.

###

Aaron Kendell Packaging Expands Sales Staff with the Return of Pat Quinn!

Used Equipment Veteran Joins AEK Packaging as Senior Salesman

Chicago, IL – October 21, 2011 - Aaron Kendell Packaging Equipment is pleased to welcome Pat Quinn and his 22 years of experience to the sales team at AEK Packaging. After 12 successful years with the Aaron Equipment family, Pat took a short detour to help a start-up company get their packaging equipment sales off the ground. After three years, Pat decided to come back to where he once called home, bringing his expertise back to the Aaron Group of companies.

Quinn’s previous experience, industry reputation and previous tenure at Aaron Equipment was something the AEK Packaging Equipment division could not pass up. According to the U.S department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, “The median number of years that wage and salary workers had been with their current employer was 4.4 in January of 2010.” Quinn’s previous loyalty and dedication almost tripled that figure. Nor could the company overlook Pat’s total experience in selling used process machinery, plastic equipment and focus on packaging machinery. In all, he brings more than 22 years of experience in providing solutions to customers needing used packaging or processing equipment.

What prompted Quinn to return to the Aaron Family? He cites a combination of the launch of its AEK Packaging division over two years ago in addition to the team atmosphere within the sales department he once loved as his impetus. “The fact that AEK is relatively new and growing so rapidly allows me the opportunity to use my technical expertise and customer relationships to help expand the company and help the company reach the next level” he explains. “The amount of inventory AEK offers to sell and the resources they have in place to manage assets or buy surplus equipment worldwide is second to none”.

His longstanding history with the division’s parent company and employment stability it once provided him contributed to Quinn’s decision as well. He views his new role as the next progression in his successful sales career path. “AEK gives me a broader base to work with customers and apply my years of expertise to help provide solutions for their equipment needs. Our company is truly a one stop shop for all of our customers packaging and processing equipment needs”

What is Quinn looking forward to most in his new role at AEK Packaging? I’m excited about promoting the new division of a company that helped my career start. I’m also thrilled to have access to all of the Aaron resources and global reach to achieve that aim. Having already established himself as a good fit with the corporate management and goals, Quinn looks forward to the possibility of another 10, or more, years as an Aaron Equipment team member

Packaging equipment users who would like to leverage Quinn’s sales expertise and experience can learn more about what AEK Packaging has to offer online at http://www.aekpack.com. Interested Media may arrange a company interview by calling (630)-238-2660.

###

Nutraceuticals, Plastics Compounding and New Buy Now Feature Highlight Aaron Industrial Marketplace’s October Auctions

Four Bidding Opportunities to Consist of Mixing/Compounding/Pelletizing Line, Nutraceuticals Manufacturing Line, Reduction Grinders and Stainless Steel Kettles

Chicago, IL – October 7, 2011 – Now well into its second full year in operation, the Aaron Industrial Marketplace (AIM) has added a new selling feature that will make buying new, used and reconditioned process equipment quicker and easier. In addition to two regular auctions featuring nutraceutical and plastics compounding equipment during the month of October, the company has just unveiled a Buy Now feature. This instant purchasing opportunity allows buyers to snag featured items at reduced pricing, without fear of being outbid at the last minute. Plastic size reduction grinders and 80-gallon stainless steel kettles will be the first products to bear the Buy Now button.

The AIM bidding will reach a frenzy on October 12–13 and on October 26–27. During those two-day timeframes, the Aaron Industrial Marketplace will have a total of 177 lots up for sales. Sixty-one of these lots will be part of a plastics compounding equipment sale while the other 116 will constitute a buyout of the inventory resulting from the closure of a complete turnkey nutraceuticals manufacturing facility.

The October 12–13 nutraceuticals auction consists of a buyout of a complete turn-key manufacturing facility for specialty blends, bulk blends, packaged powder blends, bulk or packaged tablets (coated, uncoated and chewable) and bulk or packaged capsules. The private label manufacturer of this equipment is Roex, the maker of quality nutritional supplements that are recognized as “The Educated Choice in Nutrition.” Also up for bid is a complete analytical and microbiological lab for quality assurance of raw materials and finished products.

Key items on the block from the plastics compounding collection slated for October 26–27 are a Baker Perkins compounding/pelletizing line, a Draiswerke Gelimat Thermokinetic mixing/compounding line and a Farrel compound system. In addition, single, twin screw and lab extruders by Davis Standard Egan, HPM, Berstoff, Cincinnati Milacron, APV Baker and Farrel, Leistriz & Welding will be up for bid as will high-intensity and lab mixers by Henschel, Littleford/Lodige and Welex & Pappenmeier.

Rounding out the bidding is a rollout of the Aaron Industrial Marketplace’s new Buy Now feature. In October, six plastic size reduction grinders and nine 80-gallon stainless steel kettles will be available for purchase at reduced pricing directly from the AIM website with a credit card.

“AIM is pleased to announce that it has added a ‘buy now’ feature to our state-of-the-art auction platform,” explains company spokesperson, Bruce Baird. “We successfully completed our first Buy Now offering just this last week, and we anticipate the functionality to become a regular and popular part of our process equipment marketplace.”

Process equipment buyers who like to score some great deals in October can check out all the regular auction and Buy Now items up for bid by visiting the Aaron Industrial Marketplace online at http://www.AaronIndustrialMarketplace.com. Buyers and sellers who are interested in taking part in upcoming AIM auctions can contact Bruce Baird at (510) 452-7858.
