I present to you: Flashdance!
Or maybe Fame:
It has that 80's carefree, bright, fun feel to it.
And I love that I found nail polish that matches perfectly! (Barry M Nail Paint in Bright Purple)
The pattern is sensibly called "Off the Shoulder Pullover" and it is FREE on the Vogue Knitting site. Here is my Ravelry link. I did do twisted ribbing instead of normal but I kind of wanted to hurt myself for that decision about halfway through. I do like the effect so I guess it was worth it. The yarn now, I adore! Rowan Wool Cotton in Bilberry Fool. Love the color, love the texture, must resist the urge to hoard.
Ok now I'm off to knit some matching legwarmers.
Just kidding! Even though this pullover took me FOREVER to finish, I decided to start on another more insane project:
Yes that is Thermal. The same thermal I have read so many people comment, "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINALLY FINISHED!". You'd think I'd pick something a bit snappier, but no, apparently I love torturing myself. I'm using Rowan 4Ply Soft in a sort of pinky beige color. The most I can note at this point is that I'm actually using Addi Turbo Lace circulars. Love. Nice and pointy and slick. Highly recommend for knitting anything needing needles US3 or under.
Did you know I also have a wedding blog?
Well this is the perfect time to go visit because I am running a promo and giveaway!
Sweater news: Flashdance is going great. So great that I knit 2 inches beyond the shoulder seam. The great thing about stockinette stitch is that it's so mindless. The bad thing about stockinette stitch is that it's so mindless.
Now that I've got those socks finally finished, I've turned my sights back onto sweaters. It has been annoying hot lately so I've had to be a bit more careful in my project selection. After some rummaging in the stash and queue, I've ended up with this:
And this:
The pattern is a free one from Vogue called Off the Shoulder Pullover and the yarn is Rowan Wool Cotton in a color called Billberry fool. I figure a cotton blend for a roomy shoulder baring sweater will be appropriate enough for an England summer. The combination of the color and pattern intrigues me and I'm hoping I can pull off the Flashdance flashback that I'm anticipating will result.
Slight alteration to the pattern already: I'm doing the 1x1 ribbing as a twisted rib. I've already done 3" of it but I need to do 8". I'll let you know if end up regretting my modification and stab my eyes out.
So I finished these on the day I last posted about them.
And then it was days later before it was nice enough outside to take a picture.
And it's again days later before I post a million pictures of them up on the blog.
Because for heaven's sake, i think we all deserve it.
Is it a problem when I browse through my never-ending Ravelry list and I think to myself "I shouldn't purge this list. Maybe my kids will want to knit these things and it will be good that I saved them the trouble of finding these nice patterns."
It should be noted that that I currently do not have any kids.
