style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

We are seeing the government dictate what medications can be used to treat Covid 19. There is no question that partisan politics has cost many Americans their lives. The complete dismissal of Hydroxychloroquine should be seen as the equivalent to murder. There was never any evidence that this drug was dangerous.

This is directly from the CDC website:

"You will need to take prescription medicine before, during, and after your trip to prevent malaria. Your doctor can help you decide which medicine is right for you, and also talk to you about other steps you can take to prevent malaria."

One of the most widely used medications for this has been Hydroxchloroquine. Notice it says before, during, and after your trip. The CDC recommends several weeks of medications starting several days before you travel and several days after returning to the United States.

"Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are FDA-approved drugs used to prevent and treat certain types of malaria." Also approved for used in rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. The CDC also mentions with frequent dosing RARELY reported adverse events include retinopathy and cardiac arrhythmia in those with liver or kidney dysfunction.

Notice how this does not say arrhythmia in all patients, it says rarely reported in those with liver or kidney dysfunction. Precisely why a prescription from a licensed Medical Doctor. The restrictions by politicians and even pharmacists has taken away the tools doctors use for saving lives.

Would anyone have thought that was the reason for such great concern from the media over this potentially life saving drug? Of course not! Most people were given the impression that this medication, that has been used to prevent and to malaria for over 60 years, was the equivalent to the prescribing of cyanide.

Explain to me how any reasonably intelligent person could equate this medication that has been used for years to being poison? It is not possible if people look at the evidence. There is no other way to explain the outlandish claims by the left other than partisan politics.

The partisan play by the left has cost lives. It has cost trillions of dollars and extensive destruction to our economy and ruined many people's lives by keeping them out of work or keeping their businesses closed for months.

This is clear evidence that the left and the media do not care about people. They can not care about people and at the same time be pushing for a ban on drugs that could save their lives and get our economy up and running as soon as possible.

It is shameful. The collateral damage that has been done across the country has been devastating.

For years Americans have fought, died and been gravely wounded in order to keep our freedoms. Our country does not want Marshall Law or to be ordered to give up our daily freedoms to work, earn a living and move about freely. The land of the free and home of the brave is something that is deeply ingrained into the minds of Americans. Millions of people have died, lost loved ones or have been injured in order to prove the USA stood for freedom and that we were willing to fight for it and even die for it. The ability for the government to tell businesses to close or be sanctioned with civil or criminal penalties is not much different from Communism.

The argument can be made that it is being done for the the public good but how do you prove this is for the public good when people are losing their livelihood and losing their businesses and homes because of the government enforced shutdown. The Nevada governor has used his power to shut down people who want to work and do business and he has pressured everyone else to stay home, not socialize, not shop and not to spend money. He is basically putting Amazon in control of the economy. They have been so far ahead of the curve on delivery and distribution that the didn't need this boost. But now businesses that we not prepared or have the infrastructure like Amazon are going to fall farther and farther behind.

I love Amazon and love shopping on Amazon prime but I still want to see local businesses prosper and survive. Amazon has control of distribution like no other company has ever had, including Fed ex. People that are shut down because of the government or out of work because of the quarantine may never be able to recover from this unprecedented excess use of power.

Texas Governor Dan Patrick, who is 70 years old, came out with a statement yesterday that he would be willing to take the risk of getting back to our normal lives rather than shutting down the entire country. He said he was all in and willing to take the risk of getting the Covid 19 virus. He said he thought many Americans were willing to do the same rather than see the country shut down and the economy devastated.

I think this is not an uncommon thoughts by many people. For example, Las Vegas has been completely shut down and turned into a ghost town. The majority of people make their earning off of tips. With bars, shows, restaurants and all non-essential businesses being shut down many people will not survive a month without getting behind on payments. This is something the government can not fix. No one wants to see people sick and in pain and no one wants to see anyone dying from this pandemic or anything else. However, people could be set back years by having the casinos closed for 30 days or more. Governor Patrick was being realistic about solutions to slowing the spread of the virus. Las Vegas Mayor Goodman also had battled against the complete shut down of the city by the Nevada governor.

The pettiness of the political battles is astonishing. It has become black and white thinking. There is no simple answer. We can not survive without people working or with the economy shut down. The stimulus packages will be virtually useless to anyone who is a gig worker or an independent contractor. It will also not help circulate money back into the economy the way it would be needed because people will either save the money or immediately use it for groceries or rent. It will not get people back to the level of consumption the economy needs to flourish. Once again the stimulus or "bailout" is not for the American people. It will be used by the largest companies and the behemoth banks that are far too big to fail. Bigger than they were during the crisis of 2008. All the talk of breaking up the banks only made the largest banks even larger. They again are getting money at 0% interest yet it will never be passed on to the consumer in terms of lower mortgage rates or lower auto loan rates.

Just because people talk about keeping the economy going doesn't mean they want people to die. This is such a ridiculous way to look at things. It is so simple to look at things as black or white. This is not a simple problem. We can not survive without being able to work. The solution has to be in the gray area. Get people back to work but take safety measures to mitigate the spread of the virus as much as possible.

Most of the people continually saying stay home for Nevada or stay home for the USA are not sitting home out of work wondering what to do once they don't receive their next paycheck. There will be people suffering whether we shut down the economy or whether we get people back to some since of normalcy.

And of course no one is saying let people die, or saying we care more about the economy than people. The reality is that we need the economy and we need people. The current situation of lock down and stay home is impossible to sustain for much longer.

I recall the big push for natural cleaning products with out the harsh chemicals. It is funny to see how fast the antibacterial wipes, sprays and cleaning products are flying off the shelves. Empty shelves are the norm in the cleaning aisles. Clorox wipes and had and sanitizing products are no where to be found. Funny how fast people change to the very products they despise, become the most hoarded products. I wonder how many people are still willing to use chemical disinfectant when something serious crops up.

I never thought I would be back writing again on this page so soon. It seems like we may be facing the once in a lifetime market collapse and the great recession twice in about 12 years. I understand Covid 19 is very serious and can cause severe problems to some of those with the virus. but it feels like we are heading for a fall that could divide the country and ruin the economy.

Ruining the economy and see the stock market tank can be very differ things. Most hard working people have nothing invested in the stock market and are not effected by the major swings of the market. There everyday lives are more effected by the closing of their businesses or loss of their jobs. Shutting down the economy may hurt the stock market and appear to be damaging in general but the real damage is being done on the local levels, such as Las Vegas, where jobs are being lost by the thousands. This is why we need to get people back to work. It has nothing to do with the stock market. The majority of people that are effected by the stock market are not living off of tips or pay check to pay check.

Las Vegas employs thousands of people that make a good living in the service industry. However, they don't make their living off of their hourly pay. They rely on the tip money they get by providing good service to their customers. Unemployment will not pay them anything near what they usually make each week. And if the employer says they will pay them their hourly rate, they will make thousands of dollars less than if they were getting paid an average of their last few checks.

The government promising to help the country with a stimulus package that seems again much more directed to the big banks and the large corporations with little help to the general public. Congress has been fighting the past few days over what should be included in this unprecedented stimulus package but once again it fails to address the needs of the those working class citizens that are the back bone of the country. They are doing more for the banks and larger companies. The trickle down theory didn't work well at all during the housing crisis of 2008 and it will likely not work again.

The politics of this situation is clear and every one is trying to get their sounds bites on TV and work at getting re-elected. The blatant lies that are coming from the Nevada legislature are clearly related what officials think is in their best interest. They claim that want to save lives but they have construction of hotels and construction of the new football stadium going full tilt. They have no regard for the health and safety of those workers. They are still working 12 and 15 hour days in close quarters with hundreds of people that could have the corona virus.

The governor has jumped on the band wagon to give the appearance that he actually cares for the citizens, but shutting down Las Vegas is just a power play to benefit the upper class. The people who will not be suffering from not working for 30 days. We are a few days a way from Marshall Law. We lost a tremendous amount of freedom in 2008 when the banks took trillions of dollars and hoarded it for their benefit. It was made clear that the big banks were more important than people losing their homes. We don't even have the perception that we live in a free market economy. The larger corporations and behemoth banks rule the world and congress is beholden to the money. It is very clear on all levels,

How can they keep construction workers on the job daily while we have all the casinos, local businesses and restaurants on lock down? It makes absolutely no sense to have thousands of construction workers mingling about daily in a place where the virus could be transmitted to 500 hundred people in a day.

This is a tragedy and loss of life of anyone is the worst of all outcomes but this has turned into a partisan fiasco just like it did back in 2008. They get the face time on Tv and they all jump on the band wagon and see the opportunity to try and shift the influence of power in congress by letting the economy collapse. Panic does no good for anyone. And the publishing of fear producing information is just another way to get compliance. The pettiness of journalist and politicians always amazes me, even though it happens over and over again. I think they all can't be that nefarious but time and time again the truth of their actions says that they are in this for personal gain.

It is time to stop the panic and get realistic about keeping people safe as possible while getting them back to work. I think most people are willing to take a chance to work and they are willing to take precautions necessary to keep people reasonably safe.

This is America. This is a free country. Our freedoms are being taken away little by little and we are turning into the very country we revolted against to get away from the excess control of the King and Queen. if this continues there will be a revolution at some point. As our freedoms continually get taken away and our lives ruled by selfish, self absorbed politicians the anger of the people will eventually turn to outrage. I don't know how many more years it will take. It could be 20 years or it could be 200 but if we continue along the same paths we are on today, the citizens will fight back at some point.

Now that I am back in School for my MBA my schedule has
gotten busier than ever. However, it has
also given me so many more ideas for articles that now all I have to do is find
the time to take these ideas and put them into some sort of coherent
format.

My current work experience seems to be quite contradictory
to what I am learning in business school.
However, I cannot say that even though most employees feel
underappreciated and complain often, it still has not stopped the company from
making huge profits. My course work has
validated my conclusions that this is actually not the best way to do
business. The old ways of use up workers
and spitting them out have started to go by the wayside but there has not been
a complete paradigm shift when it comes to the business of sales.

I am not sure if it is because the business models still see
employees as easily replaceable and have yet to shift there thinking to the
more modern belief that employees are your most valuable asset. When I see amazing companies such as Google,
Cisco and Intel running leaps and bounds ahead of other companies to see the
benefits of a dynamic, fun, fair culture that is full of opportunities to learn
and grow.

Google is a perfect example.
It is common knowledge that Google is one of the dream employers and
satisfaction of employees there is off the charts. The interesting point here is that Google
offers a minimum of 100 hours a year of personal training and development
opportunities. (Cascio 2013)

There is something that is coined the “Training
Paradox.” The basic concept here is that
the more you train, develop and educate your employees, the more happier, loyal
and content they will be with their place in your company. However, this also means you are providing
the exact training and education that will make your top talent even more
marketable to other companies. The
reality is that companies who are afraid to give their employees the best
opportunities to grow and develop are shooting themselves in the foot.

It is not much different than when someone tries to stifle
the growth and development of their spouse.
If they are fearful they may lose their partner as they become
self-fulfilled and growing individual they are hurting themselves and their
partner. And of course setting a class
ceiling on the potential of their relationship.
Low self-esteem and low self-concepts can create havoc in a relationship
and this can be used as an excellent analogy for large companies.

The more companies stifle employees from developing and
growing out of fear they will be more marketable to other companies is no
different than the insecure husband who tries to keep the once stay at home
mother from pursuing her dreams by going back to college.

Giving employees a challenging environment filled with
opportunity to learn, grow and develop is the best way to keep top talent. Many studies conclude that money is not
always the main reason people leave their place of employment. If people are challenged, treated fairly and
given opportunities for growth they will be far more likely to produce more,
work harder and be more loyal.
