The new season of Big Brother is barely underway but that isn’t stopping us from getting the first week’s spoilers and sharing them here with you just like we will be doing all summer long. And there’s been much anticipation on these results since we learned which of the special HGs had won the first Head of Household.

Before the first episode had even aired the leaks were starting and thanks to Hamsterwatch we learned that Dee Valladares, the Survivor castaway crossover HG, had secured the power as the first HOH for Big Brother 28. Now typically we see the first HOH as a missed opportunity and flop with the cop-out easy target instead of a big move. Would Dee avoid that typical pitfall?

So who was nominated and is on the Block this week? Read on for the spoilers.

Big Brother 28 Week 1 Nominations:

• Dee nominated: Mallory, Taylor, and Yash

It didn’t take long once the Feeds turned on to figure out which 3 HGs had been sent to the Block. But it is still too early to see who is the target and the road is long before Thursday’s vote. We’ll have Veto comp on Saturday that could turn any plans upside down and then don’t forget about the Block Buster right before the vote.

Update: Taylor let Jason know that Dee promised her Mallory was the real target. Later Dee confirmed with Kamu and if Veto gets played, Melody is her backup.

We’ll be watching to see what we learn on who is Dee’s target and why these three landed on the Block together. But for now, let’s hear your thoughts on the picks.

Every week in the Big Brother 28 season we’ll be writing up a “Nomination Anticipation” article that discusses who we expect to be sent to the Block based on the HOH’s discussions and plans from the night before and sometimes thanks to obvious conflicts in the house. This week, that’s a little tougher but we’ll see what we can do and be forewarned that there are Spoilers ahead.

Right now we know that Dee, the third special HG, has won the first HOH thanks to Hamsterwatch’s sources and that means she will be making the Noms today inside the House. So who will she pick? Umm…

We do know who she can’t put on the Block thanks to the first night’s safety competitions. Rome, Chuck, and Jason all secured their own personal safety for the week and can’t be sent to the Block or renom’d later in the round. I would also wager to guess that Devens and Angela will be safe either by way of direct announcement or “you better not touch our expensive new toys” guidance along the way. That still leaves us with plenty of options for Dee.

With the return of the Block Buster twist this season that means each HOH will need to nominate three HGs for possible eviction. The Block Buster comp should be held live on Thursday’s during the eviction show to eliminate one of the three options before HGs head into the Diary Room.

Will Dee go for breaking up a possible Bros alliance? She could target Yash, Kamu, and then maybe Drew or Barrett for the last spot. Considering three guys just swept the safety comps, might not be a bad idea to try and take out another one of their ranks. This seems like the right direction, but maybe Dee will have a much different plan. And that wouldn’t be crazy either because the HGs are now on Day 4 of the season in the game with alliances and discussions influencing in ways we just can’t know.

After a wild and prehistoric season premiere on Big Brother 28 the season continues on Friday night with the return of BB Unlocked featuring Derrick, Taylor, and now Jerry O’Connell. The action won’t stop after that though so be sure you’re ready.

Unlocked was a new sideshow series for Big Brother last summer and it’s back for BB28 along with a new, third host Jerry. Tonight’s show airs at 8/7c on CBS and they’ll be going back through all the action of Thursday’s premiere plus looking ahead for what’s in store. Sounds like we’re going to have a major vote revealed too as something that will affect the game for the next six weeks of the season, so you won’t want to miss that.

After Unlocked though is what I’m really excited about, sorry Unlocked, with the start of the Live Feeds! Yes, we don’t have to wait much longer before the Feeds are turned on and we’re streaming all the live action from inside the house for the rest of the summer. If you’re not signed up yet, you can either subscribe to Paramount+ or watch on Pluto TV. Also this season CBS will be airing Feeds on their YouTube channel briefly after each episode as a teaser to get you watching on one of their own platforms. Smart move. So we’ll probably see that kick in tonight.

Leaks have already revealed who won the first HOH and when the Feeds come back we will likely find out who was already nominated (don’t forget, it’ll be 3 Noms because of the Block Buster comp again). And either the game will be ahead of pace with possibly the Veto results or they’ll be falling into their usual routine with the POV battle ahead on Saturday. Either way, I’m expecting we’ll find out who the new Head of Household has sent to the Block and it better be good!

Big Brother 28 premiered Thursday night and gave us 14 new houseguests and three realty TV “icons,” including Rachel Reilly in back-to-back seasons.

So Rachel has returned once again. Or did she?

I mean she did come back, but it was all just to throw us off and offer some of that really embarrassing Big Brother fodder that makes most of us closet fans of this ridiculous show. It was fun to see Rachel again, especially after she got screwed over so hard last season. But it was really silly and I am not sure what the whole point of that was. For those who don’t know, there will be another “icon” to replace Rachel. So it’ll be Angela, Devens and if you want to find out, check out our spoilers.

Now on for my actual first impressions. As I have already said, I did enjoy seeing Rachel again, but now that we know she’s not really competing, I am moving on from that. Let’s start with what I thought of the BB28 cast.

The Cast

The Big Brother 28 cast is a little young for my liking. The past few seasons, I’ve really enjoyed the older cast, but it looks like we are back to the younger cast. And as for the icons, I am not that impressed with the choices. I don’t consider those three icons, and they didn’t go very far by dipping into the Survivor pool.

It’s still early to really make a call on the cast, but I am not as excited as I have been the past few seasons. I do think that there’s some potential with newbies Barrett, La Trice, Jason and Taylor, but you never know how it will shake out. Angela will bring drama and Devens and the other “icon” will bring gameplay. So I am hopeful.

The Twist

I am not sure about this twist yet, because I don’t totally get it. It’s kind of obscure right now. All we know is that it involves time travel, but we have no idea what kind of twists there will be. So I really wish I could have an actual opinion but we will have to revisit that when we actually know what it’s all about.

I will say I do not like the fact that only the “icons” are able to compete for HOH, but that’s one way to make sure the three people who are the biggest threats won’t go home in week one. That is unless the person who wins HOH decides to target the other two threats, but don’t count on that.

Overall Impression

My goal in recent seasons is to not be pessimistic and give every season a chance, so I’m trying. But I just am not as excited as I have been the past few seasons. I think that there’s potential with Angela, Devens and the other “icon,” along with several fans of the show, so maybe we will actually see some gameplay this season. I think drama will be guaranteed, but here’s to hoping for some real gameplay. We really need that this season.

Welcome back to Big Brother, fans! The new 28th season of our favorite series is kicking off with the premiere event for 90-minutes of jam-packed fun with the 14 Houseguests moving in and 3 more waiting in the wings. It’s a time traveling theme of the summer to highlight the past decades of Big Brother and its upcoming 1,000th episode later in the season.

Julie will greet us with a tour of the home before wheeling out the new players while I imagine the special HGs will be delayed a little in their arrival. By the end of the night we should have at least 16 of the 17 since word has it the second Survivor Castaway will be revealed as part of Unlocked on Friday, but we’ll see if that’s true and how it plays out.

And if you really want to get ahead, we already have the first HOH spoilers thanks to a leak from inside the house. And guess what, the first HOH is not one of the 14 newbies…

And we’re off! Julie greats us inside the house, tells us to get ready, and then heads out front to introduce us to the 14 new HGs. Ladies first! We’re working our way through the list before it’s time to meet the men second. Julie sends everyone and Jason is the first one through the door, so there’s your season’s cursed HG.

Once they’re in and everyone has a bed picked out the HGs are starting to meet each other. Drew is quickly getting on nerves and Ashley has a few eyes on her. No surprises there. But wait, Julie calls everyone to the living room and reveals that none of them will be the first HOH, but they can earn their safety.

Here’s how it works: 14 HGs are vying for 12 vials hidden around the house. Those 12 players will be split into 3 groups of four to fight for safety. Those who win safety will be bringing back a reality TV star (Rick, Dee, and Angela) with them as part of the “time travel.” This game is so silly! In the end, Barrett and Ashley didn’t find a vial so those are the two who will sit out of the upcoming comps.

The first safety comp features Rome, Kamu, Mallory, and LaTrice. They will be balancing items on the three bars and keeping them all up. The first to finish wins safety and recruits the first Reality TV star. Who will win safety here? It looks like Kamu is going to secure the win… but no it’s not him and instead it’s Rome who gets the win and safety. That means it’s time for… Angela to walk through that door.

Next round for safety: Haley, Chuk, Drew, and Taylor. They’re going back to 2018 Fiji, so here comes your Survivor introduction. The HGs have to use two planks alternating to get them across the river. This is a very cool competition design. The winner? It’s Chuk! He has safety for the week and that brings us Rick Devens from Survivor.

That takes us to the third and final time travel comp featuring Yash, Melody, Jason, and Lyric. This one is a booth competition and the HGs have to listen to messages and remember how many times certain words were read. Wowza, I’d be terrible at this. But these HGs are really good at it and it all comes down to who was the slowest for all three rounds which leaves Jason as the winner of safety.

The next HG through the door… well, it isn’t Dee, it’s Rachel Reilly! Oh, hmm, okay. So something is going on here. Yep, yep! It was a ruse. The celeb reality stars go outside to play in a prehistoric competition when Rachel starts rattling off her catchphrases from last season. Then a raptor shows up and chases her up the volcano where she falls in and is gone. Very fun, Big Brother. I enjoyed Rachel’s surprise cameo a lot.

Now with Rachel dispatched from yet another season with an untimely demise Julie says she will have to find us a suitable replacement and sends herself through the time machine. That third special HG (it’s Dee Valladares) will be revealed on Friday (It’s Dee.) and only then will we find out more (It’s Dee! Aren’t you listening to me??).

Meet Your Houseguests: Big Brother 28 cast

The first episode of Big Brother 28 hasn’t aired and the Live Feeds aren’t even on yet, but that won’t stop Spoilers from escaping the house and arriving here for you! Thanks to Hamsterwatch’s inside sources, and HW is extremely reliable if you’re unfamiliar, we now know who won the first Head of Household competition of the season!

Well this should shake things up because the first HOH winner of BB28 isn’t even one of the main 14 HGs but instead is one of the 3 special HGs.

Big Brother 28 Week 1 HoH Comp:

• Dee is the new Head of Household

Dee Valladares (Survivor S45 winner) is one of the two Survivor castaway crossovers and hasn’t even been officially confirmed like Rick (Survivor) and Angela (BB26) but she’s already swinging for the fences. And you know what is great about these results is that Dee should make an actual strategic decision here with her nominations. We almost always get a throwaway first week with a flop of an HOH who is too scared to make strong moves early on in the game, but I’m very hopeful Dee won’t suffer that same shortcoming on her HOH week.

Remember that the HGs moved in on Tuesday and the game is well underway already so things are going to be a little ahead of us this first round. HOH is already done, obviously, and that will soon lead us to Nominations. By the time the Feeds come on Friday night (9PM ET) we may already have Noms and the Veto comp results.
