Much Ado About Spirit Tracks

So I have fallen wayyyy behind in terms of Spirit Tracks news. My solution: one giant update to rule them all.

First on the list: the Japanese Spirit Tracks website has surfaced, and can be found here. The website has given us the first official scenery artwork, which can be seen to the left (click for a larger image). The scene is the image featured on the European box art for Spirit Tracks, and is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. What is that tower in the background?

On the topic of Japan, the Japanese release date for Spirit Tracks has been announced. The funny thing? It is scheduled for release on December 23, 2009, after both North Americans and Europeans get their hands on the game.

The first commercial for Spirit Tracks has been aired in the UK, and can be viewed below. This commercial will be available for download and in the Zelda Capital Video Center soon!

Finally, the largest news story of the day: 17 photos from Spirit Tracks have been leaked to GameTrailers.com. One is featured to the right, and you can view the rest in the Zelda Capital Gallery.

Spirit Tracks European Box Art

The European box art for the upcoming Spirit Tracks has finally surfaced:

I am MUCH more impressed with this box artwork. It has a much more artsy style (beside the train that is), and looks much nicer than the box art coming stateside. You can expect to see this box art hit shelves on December 11th, later this year.

4" DSi to Hit Japan Later This Year

According to Nikkei, a Japanese news service, a new Nintendo DSi is on its way to Japan later in this year. The latest addition? A 4 inch screen.

Apple is a company known for releasing new products extremely often. If anyone owns an iPod they see this effect the most. It seems like no matter when you buy the iPod, it is almost instantly out of date. Could Nintend be following suit? The original DSi was released under a year ago, and now Japan is getting yet another model.

It has yet to be confirmed for areas outside of Japan, and likely we will never see this stateside, but it is an interesting idea. Would you guys pay full price for a DSi with four inch screens? I wouldn't.

Also, I want to apologize for the downtime. I have been cleaning out the server, and all of my downloading/updating/deleting of files has slowed down the site to the extreme. This problem should have fixed itself by now, but if not I am considering new hosting. Again.

The First Annual Triforce Hunt is officially over, and now it's time to announce the winners!

In first place we have Seeker! First place will receive a brand new copy of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the Nintendo DS when it is released. Second place is Greenlink27, who will receive a $10 GameStop giftcard, as well as a custom forum title on the Zelda Capital Forums. Finally, third place goes to Chiaro04! Third place will receive just a $10 GameStop giftcard.

The First Annual Triforce Hunt Now Officially Over

As many of you probably know, we have been holding our first annual Triforce Hunt here at Zelda Capital over the past four weeks. This was the first time we have ever attempted something like this, and overall, I would say it was a success. We had about 6 major contestants, so I would like to have seen more people turn out, but maybe next year. It was a first for me, and I think I may try to switch it up a bit next year, but we'll see where that goes.

I will announce the winners tomorrow once everything is in and double checked. IF YOU HAVE ANY ANSWERS THAT YOU HAVE NOT SUBMITTED YET GET THOSE IN BY 11:59 PM TONIGHT OR THEY WILL NOT BE COUNTED!

Thanks everyone for your feedback and participation in the first ever Triforce Hunt. Check back next year same time (beginning of school-ish)!

Also, Zelda Capital received some free things that we may be giving away in the near future. Stay tuned.

Spirit Tracks Limited Edition

Over at Gamestation.co.uk, come December you can get your Spirit Tracks fill through a special limited edition tin choc full of cool stuff. What you get in the tin:

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the Nintendo DS
Link and Phantom figurines
Of course, the limited edition tin (see picture)

This is a pretty cool deal, but as far as I can tell, is only available in Europe for now. The deal is £39.99, which is just under $60 USD. It's pretty cool all in all, but not worth the import price in my opinion.

The Fourth and Final Triforce Hunt Session Begins

So I know I'm a little late in the day in posting this, but I got home a lot later then expected. Without further ado: the Zelda Capital Triforce Hunt Session 4. Pay attention this time because this session has a few twists:

The Triforces can be found anywhere on the site, but just the site, no forums. Look on all pages, as deep as possible.
Time is of the essence, as the quickest people to send in their results will get the most points!
ONE TRIFORCE DOES NOT HAVE AN IMAGE. This Triforce his hidden somewhere on the index (home) page of the site. It is not hidden hard, just creative (in my opinion). Good luck finding it.

This week's hunt contains eleven letters, separated into two words. When you find all of the hidden Triforces, visit the Submission Page and submit your answers! This session will last until next Wednesday. It is the final session in the First Annual Triforce Hunt.

Also, to check the scores check out the Triforce Hunt Score Page! This page will be updated daily (hopefully) with the latest scores. Our current leader is Seeker with 22 points.
