Lil Wayne sentenced to Prison.

Wayne pleads guilty yesterday to attempted weapons possession charges, and is expected to be sentenced to a year in prison.

This comes after he originally pleaded not guilty in which if he was found to be guilty would have been looking at a 3½ year jail sentence so I’m sure the thought of this changed his mind in which he pleaded guilty.

Statements have been released from his record label The Cash Money family and have stated they will continue to support the artist and friend in his current court case.

Wayne has worked with his record label since he was a teenager, and has seen him grow into one of the world’s most successful hip-hop artists, with a work ethic that is second to none.

Robbie Williams Drug hell

Robbie Williams has sensationally revealed details of his “drugs hell”, admitting that he once even tried heroin now this may be a shock to some of you to other it would not have surprised you. The singer returns after a three-year break, and revealed that he started taking Class A drugs when he was a teenager. He said he has had addiction problems with everything from LSD and speed to cocaine and ecstasy.

Williams also stated that in the last five years he has suffered from the “American addiction” meaning an addiction to prescription drugs such as Adderall and Vicodin, although he’s now clean. He added that at one point he feared he would end up dying from an overdose of the drugs, like other high-profile stars.

England world cup anthem

With the world cup not too far away we are already hearing many claims by music artist stating they would like to do world cup anthem for the team next year

The latest reports came from Chipmunk who revealed that he wants to team up with Tinchy Stryder to record the official anthem for the 2010 World Cup. At the Mobo awards at the end of last month chipmunk stated that “Me and Tinchy could do a song, it would be a great thing to do and something different.”

The rapper / mc has also stated that he become exhausted from touring to the stage where he fell asleep and missed his first flight to Glasgow.

Go Solo Gallaghers Says Ian Brown

Traditionally Mancunian monkey man Ian Brown has suggested that Noel and Liam Gallagher should go solo following the slip of Oasis a few weeks ago. Both Noel and Liam have written songs on the last few Oasis albums, and Liam has improved his song writing dramatically since his early attempts, such as “Little James” on “Standing on the Shoulder of Giants”.

Brown said:

“I would say go solo, I can heartily recommend it. It’s a fine way to be.”

He suggested that it was a shame that the brothers are scrapping like toddlers even though they are grown men, which I agree is a bit sad as they should really have learnt to work together by now.

The former Stone Roses front man then added:

“I always loved Oasis because when they came out, they did express that they loved us (The Stone Roses) and they saw that we did it and they thought they could do it too.

“We’re lads like they are, and that inspired them. That means a lot to me.”

Choose Spain For Your 2010 Music Festival

I’ve been to plenty of live gigs over the years in the UK and abroad, following some of my favourite bands such as Oasis, The Verve, Kings of Leon, The Stokes and The Arctic Monkeys. I’ve not been to Glastonbury but have been the Oxygen, Dublins equivalent and to Spain for the Summercase Music Festival. Both Benicassim and Summercase run pretty much at identical times of the year and the best place to stay is Barcelona. So why not look at taking a holiday to Spains second capital (after Madrid) and hit the beach for a few days, then go to either of these 2 top festivals.

The big difference with festivals abroad is that they tend to be better organised and have the added bonus that they usually run throughout the early evening and into the night, therefore you get the added bonus of holidaying during the day, while the sun is shining, the rocking the night away to your favourite artists as the sun goes down. The festivals are commonly 2-3 days long and you also have the bonus of not having to stay in a tent. You can get an apartment in Barcelona for next to nothing and live in luxury without having to take your wellies. Trut me, it’s well worth the flight ticket.

Music Fashion – Leather Jackets and Scarves

Now that summer is disappearing into the distance more rapidly than Usain Bolt down the 100m track, now is the time to sort out your winter wardrobe. And nothing says style like a leather jacket and scarf combo. I am a massive fan of leather jackets and scarves and have recently aquired a new jacket for my birthday from All Saints. Its a rugged, creased number that looks slightly battered rather than brand new and I’ve got a selection of scarves to match the outfit.

Such a combination has been made popular by bands such as Oasis, The Stereophonics, Kings of Leon and other similar rock and roll artists and groups. Really, you can’t go wrong with this look. I’ve owned second hand leather jackets as well as a range of newer ones but I seriously reckon that you can’t have enough. There are loads of shops online which cater for the younger style or for the older classic look, and winter is the perfect time to show that you know how to look cool in the cold.

Beatlemania Hits Again

Nearly half a century after Beatlemania swept the nation and across the oceans, it’s back. Over 5 million CDs have been shipped to retailers as the remastered back catalogue of the band is released. The re-release of the albums is meant to spark the biggest sale of CDs in years as downloading music is now the more common option among modern day music lovers.

The Beatles, whose back catalogue includes Abbey Road, Revolver, St. Peppers, Rubber Soul and The White Album have a huge fan base in the UK, US and worldwide and with the release of The Beatles new rock band game which allows fans to play along to their favourite fab four songs, it looks like The Beatles are making a comeback into the music and technology industry at just the right time.

Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (the only surviving members of the John, Paul, George and Ringo foursome) are behind the new game The Beatles: Rock Band which is due for release this month on the Microsoft Xbox 360 console.

Oasis Will Live Forever

I’m from Manchester and grew up in the Brit Pop era of the 1990s where bands like Oasis, Blur, Suede and Pulp were at the top of the charts week in week out. I must say I’m very sad to see the end of Oasis having bought all their albums and been to see them over 15 times throughout their tours of the UK in Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, London, Sheffield and other venues throughout the UK. The scallywags from Burnage will definitely live forever with their and have written more anthms than any other band of the same era, including Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, and more recently Songbird, Stop Crying Your Heart Out to name but a few. The band were infamous for their image, wearing leather jackets, baggy pants, long hair and their look defined the era and still lives on in Manchester and many other rock and roll cities througout the UK and worldwide.

I still think there will be a comeback, or tours in the future. I can see Noel Gallagher very much going alone as Paul Weller did once he left his bands, and Liam has also started pencilling songs and has talked about Oasis continuing without Noel. I can’t see that, but I do think that a reunion will be on the cards, perhaps not next year, but if you look at the demand for recent tickets on the last tour it would be foolish to rule it out.

Get back together boys! Rock and Roll needs you and won’t be the same without you.

Kelly Osbourne embarrassed by Ozzy!

Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne has claimed to be embarrassed by her father’s rocker antics. During a social with her friends, Ozzy cut off Kelly’s underwear. The Black Sabbath former front man isn’t a big fan of thongs and claimed they made women look like whores. This realisation made him believe he had the right to stop his daughter wearing them and cut them right off to make her rethink wearing that type of female underwear. It isn’t the first time her father has embarrassed her, and Kelly has instead insisted that though that is the case, they are still her parents and the only ones she will ever have.
