Pocket bikes are mini bikes designed for nerve swerving races whose perfection and speed depends on pocket bike performance parts. Pocket bikes are one-fourth the size of a regular motorcycle; they are miniature “Grand Prix” racing bikes accurate in detail and proportion.

The common features of a pocket bike include small two-stoke gas engines between 40 to 50cc in size, racing tires, wheels, pistons, carburetors, throttle units, fairings, a string and light aluminum or alloy frame, front and rear brakes and a GP biking stardom feel. Accessories like chrome racing pipes or mufflers spruce up your bike with a custom touch.

Smooth functioning of every pocket bike parts is essential for the long life and performance of pocket bikes. So maintenance of your pocket bike is important for a downy performance. Re-power your bike by replacing the worn out components with brand new ones for silky soft biking.

How To Upgrade Your Pocket Bike For Better Performance

You can easily upgrade your pocket bike for performance with the help of certain tricks. Do not let the part dealers fool you with their smart talks.

Tips to purchase parts for your pocket bike

1. First know what type of pocket bike you have, the size of your engine and the body type of your bike. Then you will know what exactly you are buying. If you still feel unsure about what you need then look for a licensed motorcycle mechanic.

2. Buy pegs that are higher off the ground. This will make your razor sharp turns silky and you can avoid your shoes scraping on the ground. This is rather an inexpensive up gradation.

3. If you are up for a race in your pocket bike then fitting your bike with an air filter is a good idea. An air filter will allow your engine to breath and will hike up the performance of your bike.

4. You can consider a high performance exhaust for better torque and higher speed with computer designed mandrel bends and boomerang expansion. An ultra high performance exhaust will give your pocket bike more power throughout the entire RPM range.

5. If you want your pocket bikes to run faster and perform efficiently then replace spark plugs with discharge plugs. These plugs should be gapped at 0.020, which will ignite all the fuel and air mixture of the cylinder hiking up the acceleration and speed along with an easy start.

6. For even better acceleration, replace the stock clutch springs with high tension racing springs, which will drive your engine to a higher RPM before engaging your drive train. With these sprigs just fly ahead of the other pocket bikes in the race.

7. Talk to the driver who has outperformed you in the race. Find out secrets regarding which performance parts he has used and the brand names from him playing your wit.

So spice up your pocket biking experience with the best performance parts.

You have wanted a bike for some time now, but are worried that your teenage son will hit the road on it. Well, are thinking why you should still buy them? The answer is simple. There are safer alternatives available, and of course you would get great looks, fast on the roads and easy on the pocket bikes too! And of course these machines are fast, some of the high-end ones go up to a speed of 60mph. You are definitely going to need a helmet for that kind of a speed, especially when your son would be sneaking out to ride the bike too.

When you buy your Pocket Bike make sure that you decide on what type to buy, manual or automatic. Manual bikes will give you a real motorcycle feel with a hand clutch. The X-15 110cc super pocket bike; along with ergonomic looks has a handle clutch just like a real bike.

Electric Pocket Bikes

Electric Pocket Bikes certainly have some clear advantages. There is no vibration while riding. There is a lot less pollution and it is quiet and cheap. These types of bikes are a lot safer especially with children riding them, as they are a lot less fast. So, you feel a lot less stressed when you see children zooming off.

Razor and Crotch Bikes

The Razor Pocket Rocket is recommended for a 13 + year old. With a battery charge time of up to 12 hours it has a high torque and a hand operated rear brake. It has large 10” pneumatic tyres for a safe and smooth ride and can carry weight up to 170lbs. These bikes have featured in The Time and Sports Illustrated for kids. Your kids will simply love this bike. And the best part is that of its super quiet operation, it just doesn’t make much of a noise.

Crotch bikes are true to their name essentially used as sports bike. Due to the fact that the engine is completely hidden by the body of the bike, it gives a visual feel that the rider is actually riding a rocket! Some of the common bikes in this category are ninja/CBR/GSXr/YZFr series. Apart from this Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and the Italian company Ducati also manufactures these kinds of bikes. The sheer design of these bikes gives riders a lot of control and allows them to remain stable when taking corners at higher speed levels.

Just say the words “electric scooter” and depending on your age, a definite image springs to mind. This without doubt is due to the many different types of electrical scooters available in the market today.

The fist sort of electric powered bomber scooter is the street version of a powered skateboard. These were a metal platform with a folding handle and 2 inline skate wheels. These scooters were all of the rage only one or two years back and as the craze started slowing down, the scooter makers redefined the toy into a transportation auto. Some designs even look like a mini-bike in style. These electrical scooters are marketed to the wealthy teen as a unique and fun way to get around. They are available both with electrical and a little gas driven motor. Check with local authorities relating to the use of these small mini bike scooters. Some are not authorized on the road and cannot legally be ridden on the sidewalk making them less than attractive as a transport device.

The following kind of electric scooter is designed as a get in town mini motorcycle – moped. These units are sold to 20 somethings and any one else who needs to make quick short trips and do not need the worry or bother of driving a vehicle. These are perfect for city travel where grid-lock is common. Though not a full sized motorcycle, many or these units will hold two folks and have accessories like saddle bags to carry groceries and other purchases.

This little units have a long battery charge lifespan and can get to speeds up to about thirty miles an hour with good acceleration. Depending on the amount of starts and stops, these electrical mopeds can go about thirty miles before required recharging. This is mostly more than sufficient to get back and forth to the store several times without an issue. Although the majority are considered street legal, check to make certain any electrical scooter you buy of this sort has been approved by the US Department of transport ( DOT ) and if in Europe, the EU Union transport Agency.

The final type of very cheap electric scooters is marketed toward the adult and senior market. These are generally a wheelchair like device that allows for larger mobility for older folks or those with some motor capabilities. These scooters are engineered to be used both indoors and out with tight cornering and a long battery charge lifespan. These units have a top speed of under five miles and hour but can go 20-30 miles on a charge. It is a mobility device more than a distance transport auto.

All three kinds of electric motor scooters have one thing in common and that’s the need for consistent charging. This is where the weakness of electrically powered anything actually comes into action. If a limited mobility scooter runs out of power, it may not be such a big deal as they’re typically used just for short trips away from home and around the house.

If however , you end up several miles from home on a bike type electric scooter, this can be a difficulty. With no power and your contemporary purchases in hand, the return trip home might be long and tough pushing your scooter.

In the final analysis, the electrical scooter industry is alive and well providing products that fit a growing and diverse market.

Mini bikes and pocket bikes are two phrases that are used interchangeably to refer to miniature motor GP bikes. They look the same, and run like the real thing, except that they are much smaller. Mini bike riding is one of the fastest growing sport in the United States. Many motor GP fans want to have a taste of riding these extremely fast vehicles, but don’t want to pay the hefty price tag for a real motor GP vehicle. Hence, a smaller version fits the bill nicely.

Besides, most fans just like to watch motor GP racing and get a little fun from riding the mini pocket bikes. There is no real intention of racing professionally, so there is no need for a full sized motor GP motorcycle. A smaller version is more affordable, more fun, and definitely much safer.

In general, there are two types of mini bikes: gas and electric pocket bikes. The more hardcore fans can opt for gas mini bikes, as they are closer to the real thing. Also, they are easier to operate and can go faster than electric mini motorcycles. For this reason, electric minibikes are more suitable for young children, as they go slower. But to be on the safe side, always check the recommended age before buying a pocket mini bike for a child, even if it’s an electric bike. That’s because some electric mini bikes can go up to great speeds as well.

Due to the rising demand for mini bikes, there is no lack of variety to meet the market demand. There are all sorts of different make and model for pocket rocket bikes. It is wise to do a little bit of research on these make and models before making a buying decision. For instance, if you are new to mini bike riding, you may wish to start with a smaller capacity mini bike that’s easier to control. Once you get the hang of riding the pocket bike, you may then buy a powerful one and sell the old one away. You may also decide to try out an electric mini bike just to feel the difference between riding a gas and electric mini bike. You will become a much better rider.

Mini bikes can cost anywhere from five hundred dollars and up. To get a better deal, remember to check out auction websites such as eBay. Bike riders are always buying and selling second hand used minibikes to get more experience in riding different types of mini bikes.

Finally, always keep in mind safety concerns when riding mini bikes. Never grow overconfident or underestimate the speeds of mini bikes. Doing so may expose you to unnecessary danger. Treat mini pocket bike racing as a hobby and observe all safety guidelines. Your mini bike riding hobby will reward you with many pleasurable experiences.

You can buy these mini motorcycle choppers in the form of the most popular Harley Davidson style or in fact just about any other style that you may wish for.

Many people opt to have their minichopper custom made to their own specs and plans. It just depends on what you are looking for in a mini bike. If you are a mechanic or are handy in that field you can even build your own. There are plenty of plans and blue prints for sale especially on the Internet.

Depending on what country and or state you live in there will be differing rules and regulations for riding these great little bikes. Some places demand that you must be licensed to ride on the road while others say because the motors are of a smaller size you may ride them on the road without a license.

As much fun as these are they do need the rider to be responsible as some of these bikes can go very fast. In fact some can go up to 60 miles an hour using 4 stroke engines. Children should always be advised on riding them safely and preferably not on the road, as they are not very visual for other vehicles to always see them. But on the other hand the majority of these mini motorcycle choppers are ridden by adults and teenagers.

They really are a lot of fun and they look fantastic. You can pick them up for a reasonable price especially online. They are sold fully assembled or you can assemble them yourself. Don’t forget the option of buying a used one either.

If this is his first mini pocket rocket bike, make sure to teach him about the safety habits that every rider should have. And if you ride, too, whether it?s a mini pocket rocket or a full sized bike, be sure to practice what you preach. Children have a hard time understanding how important it is to be safe on a bike when they see Dad doing things that are just the opposite of what they are telling the kids. Be sure he has all of the needed safety gear, and let him roar on his new GP MX3 mini pocket rocket. For more information have a look this website: http://www.minimotorockets.com they have collected some nice and free articles about mini pocket rockets bikes.

Bob Brown, who was for many years head of Durham Police’s motorcycle section, picked up the prize at the Motor Cycle News (MCN) magazine awards, held in London.

Mr Brown, 53, helped establish the force’s successful annual Bikewise show, which promotes safe riding and security, in 1995.

Since he retired from the police in 2007, he has been running the Bikewise training scheme and a bike club for youngsters.

He said: “I was overwhelmed. It is fantastic.

It is a great honour in the motorcycle world.

“We started Bikewise to break down barriers between police and bikers and to show the public that bikers are normal too.”

He thanked everyone who had helped with Bikewise.

Magazine editor Marc Potter said: “Bob was instrumental in setting up the phenomenally successful Durham Bikewise motorcycle event, which attracts thousands of riders every summer.

“He spent many years serving as a police motorcyclist in Britain’s most bike-friendly police force, teaching better and safer riding, and now helps young kids get a taste of motorcycling legally in Durham with a mini-moto experience.”

A mini bike is fundamentally a smaller, cuter version of a regular motorcycle. Classic mini bikes are usually outfitted with 4-stroke engines that turn the rear wheel by operate of a chain. Whereas the engine used by mini bikes are similar to that of lawnmower motors, a usual lawnmower engine may not be used for assembling mini bikes. The modern products of mini motorbikes may have 2-stroke motors as well as electric-powered engines.

Like the go-cart, which is sort of a mini car, mini motorcycles were initially built using spare parts one could locate in the garage. These became popular in the 50s as bikes used to scoot approximately the pits for drag racing. Since of their small size and straightforward maneuverability, mini motorcycles are pretty popular for use in short-distance transportation.

The mini motorcycle has evolved into numerous unique kinds:

1. Pit Bikes – these follow the authentic purpose of mini motorcycles as utility scooters during drag races. Sometimes, pit bikes are used for some motocross contests.
2. Mini Choppers – these mini motorbikes are made to appear like helicopters
3. Pocket Bikes – These mini motorcycles look just like their bigger relatives and are used for racing as well.
4. Mini Quad Bikes – these mini bikes are small editions of the four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles.

Due to the fact mini motorcycles are small but can reach high speeds, riders are advised to take extra safeguards when driving them. Mini bikes can touch speeds beyond 40 miles per hour and thus they might be hazardous even to adults. Thus it’s crucial for riders to be fully equipped along with safety gear like elbow pads, gloves, helmets, and knee pads when taking a mini motorbike for a ride.

When using mini motorcycles, it is critical to wear something that can avert scrapes and bruises. Riders are moreover advised to wear a superior and sturdy pair of jeans. Wearing bikinis or being naked while riding a mini motorbike is totally discouraged.

Since of its size and speed, mini bikes are banned on nearly all open public roads in the US. They are seen as potential causes of problems. Violation usually results into fines or actually confiscation on the bike. Thus, mini bikes are typically confined to private parts.

Mini motorbikes are interesting to have actually though they may be very unusual as a regular signifies of transportation. But as pointed out, extra care must be taken when owning a mini motorcycle to completely take pleasure in these little miracles.

Get To Know Your Mini Moto will delve further into the many components that contribute to a mini moto, namely the clutch and spark plug, and explain how each plays its part in these remarkable machines.

Clutch

The mini moto uses a centrifugal clutch to power the drive the sprocket, which in turn drives the back wheel of your mini moto.

When you start your mini moto the clutch spins as the engine ticks over. The clutch is engaged when you pull back on the throttle. The increase in speed of revolution of the clutch makes the clutch expand and grip the inside of the clutch bell which turns the sprocket that drives the back wheel of your pocket bike.

The clutch can be set up in different ways depending on the type of performance that you want from your minimoto. Adjustable clutches are not standard on mini moto’s but an after market Polani or Blata style adjustable clutch can be used in your new mini moto. These allow the rider to adjust the mini moto’s set up in according to their preference. Setting the clutch to engage too late when the engine has built up too much power may cause the clutch to slip and never fully engage. This can result in excessive wearing. However setting the clutch to engage too early, before the power has built up in the engine can cause your pocket bike to ‘bog down’, resulting in slow acceleration. The perfect set up is to get the clutch to engage just as the engine has built enough power to rocket the mini moto away, but without making the clutch slip, this is achievable through trial and error.

Spark Plug

Making sure that your spark plug is fresh is important in a two stroke mini moto engine. You can tell a lot from the color of the spark plug. The top part of your spark plug is covered in ceramic insulator which, when brand new is white. This part of the spark plug can change color according to how your engine is running. The plug should appear as a nice tan color when the engine is running perfectly, this indicates complete combustion. A grayish or white color indicates that the engine is running too lean which can result in engine damage. In this case you should clean and check your fuel system for any obstruction, check your fuel mixture, check for loose intake manifold bolts and carburetor mounting leeks, faulty gaskets and leaking crank seals. Anywhere that your engine could potentially leek and suck in fresh air can be the source of a lean condition.

A blackened or oily spark plug indicates improper combustion and is the result of running too rich. This can be caused by too much oil in the mixture or the spark plug could be faulty and misfiring. Check the fuel mixture and replace the spark plug.

A motorcycle can be a fun thing for anyone to own and ride. Of course, a motorcycle is a serious piece of equipment which is going to require a great deal of attention and care. If you have a young person who enjoys motorcycles but you know isn’t ready to practically or legally handle the responsibility of a motorcycle, electric pocket bikes may be the answer you are looking for.

When you look at a pocket bike, you are looking at a smaller version of a traditional motorcycle. They have been designed to top out around 15 miles per hour, so you will still pick up enough speed to feel a little wind in your face without losing control. You can experience the same things that you could on a regular motorcycle and be able to avoid all of the risk that is normally found on one of these bikes.

You can enjoy a pocket bike just as much as your kid might. These bikes should be able to hold riders up to 170 pounds before they can’t function anymore. Riders under 6 feet will also have the range that they need to operate the bike, meaning that you can enjoy riding this when your kids are finished.

The pocket bike is completely electric as well. Installed with the unit are 12 volt batteries which will charge off of electricity out of the wall. A completely dead battery may take up to 12 hours to charge, but ones with a partial charge should complete after a mere 4 hours. You won’t need to use gasoline for this bike, saving time and cutting back on pollution.

You won’t make a great deal of noise riding one of these bikes. The electric power will reduce the noise that a louder gasoline engine usually makes. Electric pocket bikes will easily be a great solution when you want a fun escape that will give you the same fun that a motorcycle will without all of the maintenance.

The Mini Moto is a small scale replica of the World Super Bikes used by the likes of Valentino Rossi and ex champion Carl Fogarty. The Mini Moto comes equipped with either a two stroke air or water cooled engine which are, depending on the model, capable of speeds of up to 60Mph. But how much do you know your mini moto? In this part I will underline the finer points of the components that make these speeds possible.

The Two Stroke Engine

The two stroke engine produces more hp per pound than the four stroke engine. The two stroke engine consists of three moving parts, the piston, the rod and the crank. The piston acts as valve that opens and closes the intake and exhaust ports that are located on the walls of the cylinder. Unlike the four stroke engine that fires only every other time of the pistons movement, the two stoke engine fires every time the piston reaches the top of its travel. This means that the time spent generating power is doubled in the two stroke engine than that of the four stroke engine, as there is no engine coasting during passive cycles. This is the main reason that the two stroke engine can rev more highly and produce more power (for its size) that the four stroke.

Fuel

The two stroke engine needs to be run on a mixture of petrol and two stroke oil. This is so that the engine is kept lubricated whilst in use.

99% of all starting problems are caused by fuel problems. These can stem from bad or old fuel and improperly mixed fuel (please see mixing chart). Do not use fuels that contain alcohol, as the can cause you bike to run ‘lean’. Be advised some racing fuels contain alcohol and are best avoided… We recommend that you use normal petrol for a garage and quality two stroke oil.

A mixture that is too lean i.e. not enough two stroke oil can damage your mini moto’s engine as the moving parts are not properly lubricated. This can cause the engine to seize. However a mixture that is too rich can choke the engine and affect the performance and cause starting problems. You can tell if your mini moto is running too richly by the plumes of white smoke coming out of the exhaust and the lack of performance. A rich mixture (25:1) is needed to lubricate the engine during the ‘run in’ period; you may experience a lack of performance during this period. The pocket bike may run more slowly and acceleration can be sluggish, however when you change to a mixture of 50:1 you will really notice a difference. The leaner mix ignites in the combustion chamber faster and with a more explosive force than the richer mix. This means higher revs which mean more power and acceleration.

We recommend that a fuel mixture of 25:1 is used to ‘run in’ you mini moto, and a mixture of 50:1 is used thereafter.

‘Running in’

Your mini moto should be ‘run in’ for the first 3-4 tanks of fuel. During this period we recommend that you use a fuel mixture of 25:1. This means a mixture that is made up of 25 parts petrol to 1 part of two stroke oil. During the ‘running in’ period be careful to not rev the engine to its maximum as this can damage the engine. The ‘running in’ period will allow the moving parts to become well oiled and the clutch and brakes to ‘bed’ themselves in. After you have run the minimoto on this fuel mixture for 3-4 tanks, check the chain and tighten accordingly, check the tire pressure, tighten the bolts on the brakes, forks and wheels. You may also need to readjust the throttle settings to allow for the higher revs that changing to a leaner fuel mix produces. The bike should now be ready for a fuel mixture of 50:1.

Super pocket bikes were produced in Japan where they were predominantly used for racing. As with any automotive type racing teams they created performance upgrades for the bikes that would make them go faster and have better handling (among other thing). These parts and bikes are available to anyone across the world that are forming their own teams or just having fun. Below is a list of some of the best and most popular upgrades that you can find. Redline Motorsports Cone Air FilterThe cone air filter from Redline Motorsports will increase the horsepower as well as the performance of your pocket bike. The filter performance kit will also give your engine the chance to breathe easier. The filter is in the shape of a cone so that it can cover a larger area and deliver more air. This is one of the best performance filters that comes available with high speed velocity stack and mounting hardware. Aluminum Pull StarterThis upgrade is a lightweight direct OEM replacement part. It is produced with a heat resistant outer casing making it more durable and able to withstand high speeds. This part is connected to the side of your pocket bike giving it a sporty look and better function. Redline Motorosports Exhaust SystemThis exhaust system that has been designed and produced by Redline Motorsports is chrome plates and one of the highest output exhaust system that you will find. It offers your bike to reach higher speeds. Because of its longer and wider expansion chamber the exhaust system has a decreased amount of back pressure that let’s the engine work more easily. This in turn gives the bike a higher top speed. NGK High Discharge Spark PlugThis specially designed spark plug gives your super pocket bike the ability to race faster and more efficiently than before. The spark plug is designed to ignite the fuel and the air mixture contained within the bike’s cylinder. This pocket bike upgrade will offer faster acceleration and top speed. Redline Motorsports Clutch SpringsGet rid of your old stock clutch springs because Redline Motorsports has something even better for you super pocket bike. Their specially designed clutch springs are high tension and geared specifically toward racing. It allows the engine to rev to an increased RPM before you engage your drive train. This super pocket bike upgrade equals out to a faster beginning when starting off the race.

Here’s a quick mini moto info guide to help you.

The Running in procedure

This bike has a very close tolerance high performance 2-stroke engine. Therefore, you must run the engine in extremely carefully to get the best from it. If you sense the engine is getting tight e.g. not idling properly, you must switch-off & let it cool down whilst carefully turning over on the pull start. Avoid this situation at all costs IT IS DAMAGING YOUR ENGINE. If it occurs, you are either being to aggressive with the break-in, or you have not got the cooling system functioning correctly e.g. air-lock.

How to avoid an air-lock?

As this is a liquid cooled bike. When you fill with pure coolant you must ensure the radiator and coolant system are free from all air locks. In order to do this pour in the coolant until it starts dribbling from the hole in the top of the radiator, remove bleed pipe whilst priming the cooling system by turning the back wheel. You may also need to pressurise the system to force out the air locks by blowing into filler or ‘de-gas’ bottle.

What is the ratio of petrol to oil?

Initially you need to use a break-in mixture of 25:1 then once its nicely run in you can make your mix 40:1. This will help reduce the amount of black smoke and make it a leaner mix.

Only use high quality synthetic 2 stroke oil which is available in most motorcycle and motocross shops.

Taking it easy!

Although the thing you’ve been waiting for is to get your bike up and running, get it into full throttle and just speed away, this is the one thing you should never do.

If it is necessary to have your bike running on its stand for prolonged periods, rev the engine occasionally & allow the back wheel to spin and drive the coolant pump. This will allow the coolant to circulate and prevent your bike overheating. The same is true if you are motionless for any length of time. Lift the rear wheel & rev the engine.

Getting ready to go.

For the 1st 2 full tanks of fuel, do not allow the engine into the power band. For the 3rd to 5th tank, only very brief periods of either full throttle (not max engine speed) or a few seconds in the power band. A full 5 tanks of fuel are recommended before using the bike in anger. You have been told!!

Most important about the Polini 911 Replica minimoto is that it is not a toy and the bike should not be used by children under the age of 14. Make sure you use safety equipment and have experience of mini motorbikes before you attempt to ride this.
