Del Moore and Chris Stubbs

Gary Stubbs, Del Moore, Chris Stubbs and Dorothy Moore

Chris Stubbs, her husband Gary, Del Moore and

Dorothy Moore set up the lighting and camera for

our WSO / Menucha Spring Workshop, May 15-19 2016.

As instructor for this workshop, I offer many thanks.

This is just a glimpse of the "behind the scenes" effort

that makes this workshop come to life.

Thank you Del, Dorothy, Chris and Gary for your

time and expertise.

Scott Crane

Scott Crane, the program Director for Menucha

handled the sound system and the microphone.

For months prior to the workshop he

kept us on track. All the arrangements required

to set up the main room, room reservations, and meals

were in place and ready for the eager artists

arriving in May. He and Christine were also on hand to help

artists unload, if they needed assistance.

What a joy it was to have so many

helping to make this workshop a success.

Thank you!

Menucha Retreat Featured on Grant McOmie's Grant's Getaways on KGW

Almost 28 years ago, I attended Michael Schlicting's workshop

at Menucha Retreat and Conference Center.

Memories of that meaningful experience are still fresh in my mind.
Taking precious time to feed my artistic soul, surrounded by artists,

became a delightful habit as I returned many years,

often as a student and then as an instructor.

Join me at historical Menucha Retreat and Conference Center

May 15-18 2016,
when I will be returning again to teach Stronger Design Before and After.

March 7, Grant McOmie featured the history of Menucha, former

summer home of Oregon's Senator Julius Meir.

I have always enjoyed learning how this amazing retreat came to be

and wanted to share it with you.Click link below:

Opening New Creative Pathways

2016-01-23T15:43:00.000-08:00

This Series Opened New Creative Pathways

"Listening" to and trusting my intuition, as well as being open

to new creative pathways were important lessons for me,

as I created this series.

Opening creative pathways involved these and other observations

that I consider major shifts, in how I am moving forward as an artist:

1. I now practice techniques to eliminate fear based thinking in

respect to my art ideas, art process and a "finished painting".

2. I now practice being aware of how my expectations affect
my creative process.

Honing my design focus, I have challenged myself
to create paintings with a simple design shape,

Exploring the possibilities of printing leaves led
to this painting. Susan Greenbaum, taught me about
a collage paper that is incredibly thin.
It is called "Food Wrap" 12 x 12 inches and
available at Cash&Carry.
I enjoyed using it in this painting, which will
be at the Portland Art Museum, Rental Sales Gallery.
Opening Reception: Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 - 5-8 pm

Susan Greenbaum is an amazing collage and acrylic
artist who will be featured at Art Elements in Newberg,

Many thanks to Cindy Briggs and Theresa Goesling

a dynamite event for the Northwest Watercolor
