novel writing

You’ve got great ideas. Your characters are in your head. You know how you want the ending to be. You’re a GREAT writer…

…. so why are you still staring at a blank computer screen or sheet of paper?

If you’ve ever tried to write a novel (or even just thought about it), you know the routine. You just can’t put everything together. You’ve got to work step by step to write a great book, right?

NOT ANYMORE!

NewNovelist Software has turned the writing process on its head. With this revolutionary software, you can write your novel the way you want to.

You can stop being a slave to old, slow, archaic writing rituals and methods.

“Let me salute NewNovelist, and hope that many millions of them are sold”
Will Self, best-selling author & short-listed for the United Kingdom’s ‘Whitbread Best Novel” Award

“The Magic of NewNovelist is that it doesn’t feel as if you’re writing a book”

THE PROBLEM

Let’s face it – writing a book takes time. LOTS of it. Until now, aspiring writers and novelists faced – and let’s be honest – a gut-wrenching, slow and gruelling writing process.

We know what you’re going through. You probably have lots of notes in your head. You’ve gotten up at 3am just to jot down a great idea you had. Something strikes you for inspiration, and you’ve just got to write that chapter – NOW – before you forget.

But you’re supposed to use some ‘process’. That means you can’t start your novel now – you have to wait until you’ve got things in sequential order. For a writer trying to make a living, that’s a killer.

THE SOLUTION – NEWNOVELIST SOFTWARE!

“NewNovelist is wonderful – the only software I have been able to find that works in the same way as a writer’s mind. It allows you to develop ideas as they occur to you, regardless of where you might be in the story. This means that the writing process becomes as vivid and dynamic as your imagination.”

NewNovelist is detailed yet easy to follow software, that enables you to write a novel. This means that you will be able to write the story you’ve been dreaming of for years, and you will feel soon enjoy the satisfaction of fulfilling a life long ambition.

NewNovelist also received an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from the national press, including The Sunday Times. This confirms that the software was written for all of us to use – you don’t have to be a technical whiz or an experienced writer – so you can get started with your writing immediately, knowing it will be an enjoyable experience.

GET YOUR BOOK ON THE MARKET – IN RECORD TIME!

Let’s be frank – time is money. Every day you’re held hostage to outdated writing methods is another day without a published novel, or without income if this is your career. You need to get your book out like yesterday. You know how it is. So do we.

Whether you’re a new or experienced writer, NewNovelist Software is the solution you’ve been dreaming about!

WRITE SMARTER AND FASTER – NOT HARDER!

NewNovelist novel writing software breaks down the process of writing a novel into manageable chunks. What does this mean to you?

It means you can stop wasting time and start writing.

If you are looking for some fun Christmas sewing crafts then try our advent calendar pattern of cute little mittens. Our advent calendar is designed to be a garland of mittens, which would be perfect to hang along your mantel, down the banister, or even draped around your Christmas tree. It would also be the perfect thing if you have little ones who are always wondering how many more days there are until Christmas. So if you do, then make them a countdown calendar with this cute advent calendar pattern of mittens.

Our advent calendar pattern, which includes 4 different mitten designs, could also be used to make a Christmas garland or as ornaments, just leave the numbers off!

advent calendar pattern
Materials for Advent Calendar
advent calendar pattern

    * Advent Calendar Pattern
* Felt (variety of colors)
* Embroidery thread
* Ribbon (” wide)
* Ric rac trim
* Buttons (” wide)
* Jingle bells
* Snowflake buttons
* Seed beads
* Pearl beads (” wide)
* Red beads (1/8″ wide)
* Needle and thin bead needle
* Scissors
* String
* Clothes pins (1 ”)

General Instructions For All Mittens

1. Print and cut out the Advent Calendar Pattern.

2. For each pair of mittens, cut 2 for the left mitten and 2 for the right mitten.

3. When the instructions tell you to stitch the mitten front to its back, this is what you will do for each mitten. For each mitten, cut a piece of ribbon 2 ” long and fold in half. Then line up the front mitten piece with the back piece and tuck the folded ribbon between them, along where the seam will be on the side opposite of the thumb. See photo B.

4. Now decide what stitch you want to use along the edge. Some options would be the running stitch, backstitch, blanket stitch or whip stitch. We used the running stitch, and once we got all the way around the mitten, we continued the running stitch and worked our way back to where we started, to create the look of a backstitch. This way both the front and back will look like the backstitch. If you actually use the backstitch, the backside of the mitten will look much different than the front.
Instructions For Mitten Shape #1

Using the cuff lines on the advent calendar pattern as a guide, backstitch the cuff lines onto the front of each shape #1 mitten. You can make as many shape #1 mittens as you like. We made 4 pairs.

Next, stitch on a star and then add pearl or seed beads to the points of the star if you would like. Or use the lazy daisy stitch stitch with added pearls and seed beads. We did two pairs with stars and two pairs with the lazy daisy stitch (Photos A and B).

advent calendar pattern

advent calendar pattern

Now center the numbers and stitch them on. Then stitch the mitten front to its back. See general instructions above, #3 and #4.

Instructions For Mitten Shape #2

Cut a piece of ric rac trim about 4″ long, and on the front mitten piece, fold the edges of the ric rac to the back and then sew the ric rac on along the wrist of the mitten. Be sure your stitches catch the ric rac that’s on the backside.

Now sew on a jingle bell or snowflake button. We did two pairs with jingle bells and two pairs with snowflake buttons. See photos C and D.

advent calendar pattern

advent calendar pattern

Now center the numbers and stitch them on. Then stitch the mitten front to its back. See general instructions above, #3 and #4.
Instructions For Mitten Shape #3

Using the cuff lines on the template as a guide, backstitch the cuff onto the front of each shape #3 mitten. Be sure your outermost cuff lines are about ” in from the edge. See photo E.

advent calendar pattern advent calendar pattern

Next, sew on a button along the cuff. See photos E and F. Then center the numbers and stitch them on.

Stitch the mitten front to its back. See general instructions above, #3 and #4.

Note: When sewing the mitten together, you should be able to lift the cuff edge enough to stitch under the cuff edge when sewing the mitten front to its back. That way it wont put the wrong color of thread on the front of the cuff.
Instructions For Santas Mittens

We made just one pair of the Santas Mittens and used them for days 23 and 24.

advent calendar pattern

Using the cuff template as a guide, backstitch the cuff onto the front of each of Santas mittens. The dots on the cuff template indicate about where to start and stop your stitches along the cuff (about ” in from the edge). See photo G.

Cut out 4 holly leaves and stitch them on down the center of each leaf. Then sew on 3 red beads for the berries. See photo G.

Then center the numbers and stitch them on.

Stitch the mitten front to its back. See general instructions above, #3 and 4.

Note: When sewing the mitten front to its back, you should be able to lift the cuff edge enough to stitch under the cuff. See photos G and H.

advent calendar pattern

advent calendar pattern

As you take the mittens down each day, you could then hang them on your tree as an ornament.

Suggestion: Since the mittens are a little small to actually put a treat inside them, you could simply place a small note inside each one instead. The notes could announce a special event or fun activity that youll be doing that day. For example, tickets to a Christmas play, decorating sugar cookies, or going to see Santa.

Or the notes could have clues to a “treasure hunt” that leads them to a hidden surprise.

    * Advent Calendar Pattern
* Felt (variety of colors)
* Embroidery thread
* Ribbon (” wide)
* Ric rac trim
* Buttons (” wide)
* Jingle bells
* Snowflake buttons
* Seed beads
* Pearl beads (” wide)
* Red beads (1/8″ wide)
* Needle and thin bead needle
* Scissors
* String
* Clothes pins (1 ”)

Current mood:  excited

OMG! So I get this guy that emails me today in response to my Terry Goodkind blog post, he asks if I’d check out some of the chapters for his newly released book. Then apologizes for the “self promotion”. I’m like… no worries I totally understand, it’s not easy being a writer and trying to get people to read your work, feel free to hit me up anytime.

Anyways, I decided to go check into his profile later, and find out that Eldon Thompson is the published author of “The Crimson Sword”, “The Obsidian Key”, “The Divine Talisman” for “The Legend of Ashiel” Triology, and friends of The Sword of Shannara’s Author Terry Brooks.

And it appears that he also has negotiations, and an agreement with Warner Bros Pictures for his screenplay of Terry Brooks’s The Elfstones of Shannara. With current plans to bring it to the silver screen some time between 2009-2010.

So I’m sitting here thinking to myself, and scratching my head… why did he want me to read his work again lol? Whatever, I’m flattered, I’m not going to complain, this shocked me though this morning, and it was a really cool experience. =)

Anyways as promised! I’m leaving a link so you guys can check out his work as well!

I’m definitely going to be checking out his book.

Enjoy!

Only 17,000 more to go before it can be considered a full blown novel lol! Per wikipedia.com LOL! Anyways, I was able to get more of the plot, and background story written yesterday… yeah!
