As we discussed at the business meeting in 2012, with the advent of BEA Connect and the creation of a listserv for the division, we won’t be posting to this site. We’ll be pulling this site down in 6 months or so. If you would like to join the new RAM Discussion list, please go to http://rambea.philonet.tv/listinfo.cgi/rambea-philonet.tv and sign-up. Book, Review Contributions to JRAM sought

Andrew Clark is looking for book reviews for the Fall edition of the Journal of Radio and Audio Media. Clark is particularly interested in people who have not reviewed books for JRAM in previous editions. If you’d like to review but don’t know what book would be appropriate, contact Clark and he’ll help you out.

Bayliss Scholarship Comes to BEA

The Bayliss Foundation transfers administration of the Bayliss Scholarship to the Broadcast Education Association. From their Press Release:

The Foundation will transfer the administration of its scholarship
program and funding to a third-party organization specializing in
educational scholarships, which will be identified and announced in the
near future. The Board of Directors will appoint a liaison committee to
work with this organization and will continue operating under this new
structure until industry conditions permit a return to a self-governing
independent entity.

BEA Festival of Media Arts Deadline Nears

The time is approaching to enter faculty audio projects in the 10th BEA Festival of Media Arts competition. Entries can be uploaded to the BEA Festival website from November 15 through December 15. Watch for complete details, including entry fees, instructions, and entrant requirements coming soon to the BEA Festival website.

BEA is proud to Officially announce BEA2011 will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton, April 9-13. The change in location and dates will allow BEA attendees to take advantage of more of what the NABshow has to offer, and give us our own defined space for all events. The Paper and Panel submission process is now up and running through All-Academic, and remember, September 15th is the deadline for all paper and panel submissions!
