Having had a good run of 7+ years blogging my favorite music, I’ve decided that it’s time to pursue other interests and take a break. There have been heaps of good blogs that have done exactly that lately… perhaps the streaming services have all the hits now… definitely the age of the independent blogging scene is on the wane.

I never intended this to be anything but a hobby, an outlet for my passion for artists and their craft, and a love affair with Australia’s every growing music scene. I will continue to follow and support new and upcoming talent but not in the same way. If you haven’t yet please like my page on Facebook where I will continue to share my new music discoveries from time to time. Drones are becoming a very effective tool for photographers like Paul Borrud aka “The Bird” who captures live surfing video feeds on coastal locations throughout Sydney, Australia and in the above video Fijian Islands.

Sydney, Australia’s Sticky Fingers are busy working on new material following up on their successful debut LP, ‘Caress Your Soul“. They quickly caught our attention with their DIY video production of their track “Australia Street” which many claimed was reproduced in some way by Coldplay’s video for “A Sky Full of Stars“, which like AS was filmed on location walking while performing their songs through the streets of Newtown.

Brighton rock trio, Esben and the Witch, are back with a new song, “Dig Your Fingers In” taken from the new album “A New Nature” to be released September 1st 2014.

“You know, we as black people have to come to grips that hip-hop is a contagious culture,” Questlove continued. “If you love something, you gotta set it free. I will say that ‘Fancy,’ above any song that I’ve ever heard or dealt with, is a game-changer in that fact that we’re truly going to have to come to grips with the fact that hip-hop has spread its wings.”
