Since we have been learning about early civilizations, we tried our hand at turning our names into cuneiform on cookie “tablets”.  This is a fun activity!  Here are the Alligood 3 working on their projects.

Jason and I had a blast this last weekend.  Time for just the 2 of us to hang out and relax.   We left Friday morning and flew standby to Chicago.  We were bumped from our first flight, but made the next flight.  We even got to be in 1st class.  I must say, that is the way to fly the friendly skies!  Too bad the flight is only 45 minutes!

Once we landed, we rode the train down to the city.  This was a new experience for me, old hat for J.  And yes, you can start to feel “car sick” on the train.  Maybe all the starting and stopping?

We arrived at our hotel and it was awesome!  It was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in… ever!  It was beautiful!  We also got the deal of a lifetime in staying there… $10 a night.  Seriously, the Motel 6 costs more than that!  We had an incredible view of the city.  We loved it!

Saturday morning, we went to Navy Pier, another  first for me.   I really liked it.  The shops were neat and I loved being outside on the pier.  We didn’t do the Ferris Wheel, as I am not into heights and a huge chicken.  But I liked watching it   We played a game of Mini Golf and that was fun.

Home, sweet home!

It’s that time of year again!  New crayons, new markers, new tennis shoes…  We had a great first day back!  I am so thankful!  The kids did a fabulous job.  We started on time and even finished on time!  Here are the Alligood 3 all set to go.
