<p>UK workers will be able to enjoy a <strong>four-day weekend</strong>, followed by a short working week. Traditional movement and spending patterns will be broken as people are working less, and will be willing to <strong>spend more</strong> to get<strong> value</strong> from days off.</p>
<p>Around <strong>one fifth of the UK workforce</strong> are looking to make the most of the break by taking off the three days between weekends, giving them a lengthy nine day holiday (DirectGov). Coupled with the huge <strong>‘staycation’</strong> trend (predicted to give the economy a <strong>£7.3billion </strong>boost), which is being heavily promoted by <strong>VisitBritain</strong>, more people than ever before are predicted to be staying at home over the Jubilee weekend.</p>

<p>Joining the baby boomer internet dating revolution, <a title="Ffifty.com" href="http://ffifty.com/" target="_blank">Ffifty.com</a> is a direct result of Charlotte’s BBC Radio 4 comedy series (which has also been turned into a book) &#8220;Thinking of Leaving Your Husband&#8221;, a cautionary tale for our times. The series featured Sarah, the heroine, walking out on a stale and unhappy 20 year marriage. “I was approaching my 50th birthday. One morning, I looked at my husband over the breakfast table and thought: Is that it?”</p>
<p>Aware of how difficult dating can be later in life after coming out of a long marriage, Charlotte set up the site to help others in a similar position to herself with the concept being &#8211; there is no reason to spend the second half of your life on your own, whatever your circumstances. </p>
<p>The new site design not only looks great, but Charlotte has also got some exciting plans to market the site and gain some great exposure. Enlisting the help of Relationship Expert Christine Webber, the site will feature a blog which will be updated with regular dating articles, helpful tips and online dating pointers, which will also be heavily promoted using the larger social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. </p>
<p>The pair are now being coined the Trinny &#038; Susannah of dating for the over 50’s, gaining lots of interest from TV and press. In addition, Charlotte is currently recording for her upcoming radio series which will air at the end of the year. We’re really pleased to see such brilliant plans for the site and we’ll be sure to update you on the results from the marketing efforts as and when we see them.</p>

<p>We are currently trialling <strong>upgrade lightbox prompts</strong> on in-house sites across the Mature, Adult and General networks to help <strong>improve conversion</strong> rates and so far, have seen some positive results.</p>
<p>The upgrade lightbox appears to Adult users if they have viewed up to 10 profiles on their first visit, and for Mature/General members, it will pop up on every visit once they&#8217;ve viewed seven or more profiles. The lightbox includes member photos and reasons to join which will <strong>encourage users to upgrade</strong>. If they want to continue their journey as a basic member, they do have the option to close the lightbox down if they are on the General or Mature networks.</p>
<p><strong>Conversion and initial cash has risen since the A/B test</strong> started and if these positive results continue, we shall be releasing this update across all networks shortly. Stay tuned!</p>

<p>Our in-house development team are also working hard on a <strong>notification bar </strong>that will <strong>increase member engagement</strong> and <strong>conversion rates</strong>. Sitting in a fixed position at the bottom of the screen, the bar will instantly notify the member to any new activity within their profile (e.g. winks, new private messages, etc) and will appear as a bubble pop-up.</p>
<p>Currently being A/B tested with in-house brands, the results have been very promising and we will hopefully be rolling out this product towards the end of the month. <p>Global Personals Ltd will now be offering free and freemium white label products to its award-winning subscription platform, <a title="WhiteLabelDating.com" href="http://www.WhiteLabelDating.com" target="_blank">WhiteLabelDating.com</a>. As well as <a title="Smooch.com" href="http://www.Smooch.com" target="_blank">Smooch.com</a> and the <a title="WooWise.com" href="http://www.woowise.com/" target="_blank">WooWise</a> white label system, the acquisition includes <a title="Mancentral.com" href="http://www.Mancentral.com" target="_blank">Mancentral.com</a>, which will help Global Personals grow its gay dating division through own-brand and partner sites. <p>Me and my fiancé Martin (yep we&#8217;re now engaged!) are writing to you because online dating really does work!</p>
<p>I first winked at Martin on 25th June 2011 and we had our first date two weeks later on Friday 8th July. Martin said he didn&#8217;t usually reply to winks but when he saw my profile and photo he couldn&#8217;t resist (aww!). From then on, we spent every weekend together and gradually realised we&#8217;d hit the jackpot and fell in love. We started talking about getting engaged but thought it was too, so we decided to wait until June 2012. By September we were both positive we had something amazing and changed our plans &#8211; we bought the ring but waited until Christmas day to get engaged &#8211; it was so special and Martin almost cried. We now have the Wedding booked for 21st March 2014 and I just can&#8217;t wait! If someone had told us this time last year that we would find our perfect partner online and be engaged and planning my dream wedding, I think we would have both been a little sceptical &#8211; but it has happened and we are both over the moon. We can&#8217;t thank you and your team enough &#8211; we now have an amazing life together to look forward to. It&#8217;s a dream that absolutely came true!!</p>

<p>My reasoning for joining Hallam was very similar to my girlfriend&#8217;s (quite ironic really!!), could not meet anyone, work commitment and the main one really confidence. It was me really who made the first contact by sending a WINK!!&#8230;she replied and we sent a couple of emails, asking how each other were. For some reason we went quiet on each other, but later we both found out whilst talking we were still looking at each other&#8217;s profiles in the quiet period, so there must have been an attraction on both sides. Luckily a couple of weeks later, when began emailing again and i was the one who ask her out <img src='http://www.whitelabeldating.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> &#8230;we decided to go bowling and have a meal, it may sound different, but believe me bowling is a good icebreaker!! To say the date went well&#8230; its 13 months later, we’re both still very happy and looking to move in together. <p>Thank you for your email and I enclose a photograph taken yesterday in Patrick&#8217;s conservatory before we went out for Sunday lunch. I first got in touch with Patrick on 24th March; he booked a Sunday lunch at a restaurant and spent the rest of the day at Little Studley Park, a National Trust beauty spot with lakes and fallow deer. We both knew we wanted to see each other again. Since then we have seen each other five times a week, we text every day and we’ve met one another’s families. I already had two holidays planned this year before I met Pat, but we intend to spend at least one holiday together in the middle of my two. My life has really taken off since I&#8217;ve known Pat. He is a fabulous man, a family man and a fun man, so thank you Singles Over 60 for introducing me to him. We have spent three separate days out with his brother and sister-in-law, what a lovely family, and as I haven&#8217;t got any family (except my Mum) I have been welcomed into Pat&#8217;s. </p>
<p>I&#8217;m thoroughly enjoying my life again now that Pat is a part of it and it is all due to Singles Over 60.<br />

<p>With wet weather on the menu for the long weekend, make sure you are fully prepared to take advantage of the increase in online traffic. We often see a spike in members on a Sunday and this could likely continue through to Bank Holiday Monday.</p>
<p>There will be a<strong> Free Read</strong> on<strong>Saturday 5th May</strong> from 6pm-10pm, available to all UK networks, with a <strong>special offer</strong> being sent to help engage basic members on <strong>Sunday 6th May</strong>.</p>
<p>A <strong>Bank Holiday Photo/Video Competition</strong> is also currently taking place for all UK networks, asking members to upload a photo or video (or both) showing us their idea of the perfect bank holiday (the member themselves must be in the photo/video to qualify for the prize). The best photo/video will win a camera worth £100, plus two runner-up prizes &#8211; a £50 e-voucher for second place and a £25 e-voucher for third place.<strong> Entries must be made by Midnight Monday 7th May</strong> and a <strong>competition reminder</strong> will be sent on the Monday.</p>
