A couple of pictures from my instagram.

I'm heading out the door now to do some photography and dump more things at the consignment shop. I need to split myself into two people if I tried to list what I have for sale in my shop. Assistant needed I think....

From afar I thought this was a one piece: a cool leather jacket with a fur torso. Wrong.

The faux fur vest is from Primark - a budget chain in London which is layered over an equally inexpensive faux leather jacket. Boots are from All Saints - I recognize those anywhere. Her full picture is on the street style blog.

This is a prime example of using fur in a very wearable way at a budget. Last week's spotlight (here ) showed a fur used inside an army jacket.

ps. I touched the above vest and it was soooo soft! I looked at her with my mouth open and she laughed. I want one!! anyone seen them in Primark please email me will you?

MILDER DAYS

In New York it's cold one day and not so much the next and here I am obsessed with finding the perfect parka. I still think about the one on this girl. The interior fur lining on the above one makes it - just like hers. It's that lining showing when the coat falls open. The little details...

We've all got an eye on spring so a post on outfit transitions seems cool.

The one thing I notice when walking around New York is the abundance of fur. Faux or real, it is everywhere.

Years ago when thinking of fur I'd think of a long fur coat. Nothing else. Now it's updated into anything and I love it! The lining of parkas, the trim around or inside hoodies, the trapper hats, the boots. You name it. Good for us since it makes it accessible to everyone and it comes back every winter.

I shot this woman a few days ago on the street style blog and she summarizes the point perfectly (sorry I didn't get a chance to ask her WDUGT)

Here's some of my faves online:

Michael Kors faux fur coat. Closest I've found to mine.
ASOS stripe coat. This looks so rock chick.
ASOS cossack hat. Very similar to my one which I live in (will probably wear it today).
ASOS fur gilet. Layer this over all your black leather jackets.
Club Monaco neck warmer.
Topshop fur & knit coat. I have a shot of a girl in this coat on the street style blog soon. She looked gorge in it.

It's as cold as balls out this weekend.

This coat feels a bit like the abominable snowman but I really don't give a toss because it's so warm (found these pics in it from last year).

Gotta love a shaggy long haired coat. I won't lie. Feels a little bit rock and rolla.

HOW TO WEAR: CAMEL & RED

Start with a good basic coat and trouser in solid colours.
Add a patterned shirt that ties in the red from the trouser in a less obvious way. This plain white would've worked beautifully too.
Add a black shoe to anchor the lighter colours. Flats like these or these also work. Tip: Camel and black alone make fantastic colour combo outfits that never date.
Stick to a bag that compliments the whole look (the black/gold version linked below works too).
