We can assure you that the story is much less exciting than it seems.

Here is the part of the story that is not in dispute:
Thirty-nine-year-old Ionel Popa went home drunk after his employer paid him in wine instead of cash. That night, he whined about the cold and forced his wife Marinela Benea to keep a fire going… all night. When he woke up, she told him to go out and do some work or do some housework. Popa’s response was to tell her that she was not entitled to tell him what to do. She responded by telling him that he was not any kind of man and grabbing his testicles. Popa recoiled and suffered a serious injury.

The nature of the injury is what is in dispute. According to various headlines, Marinela ripped her husband’s testicles off. In actual fact, she only tore open his scrotum. His left testicle was apparently exposed, and might have even been hanging out, but it seems that it was still attached. While Popa’s injury was certainly horrific, having one’s scrotum torn open and having one’s testicles ripped off are totally different things.

Marinela described the situation fairly matter-of-factly:

I told him he was not any kind of man and I grabbed his balls. It was not my fault that he pulled away, and that’s when it happened. I thought maybe that some ice would solve the problem, but he insisted on calling an ambulance. He was pretty annoyed.

In all fairness, I watched this video half-a-dozen times and failed to see any Nazi memorabilia in the room. We are assuming that it was in part of the video that The Sun has not released.

At the end of the day, when all is said and done, this is not the worst thing that a priest could get in trouble for… it isn’t even the second worst – but it is definitely up there.

Crossan is said to have taken leave of the priesthood.

The police allege that the inebriated educators fell into a bitter disagreement about whether literature or poetry should be considered prose: the host was in favor of traditional literature, while the guest favored poetry.

The federal police issued the following statement:

The host insisted that real literature is prose, while his guest, a former teacher, argued for poetry.

The literary dispute soon grew into a banal conflict, on the basis of which the 53-year-old admirer of poetry killed his opponent with the help of a knife.

The poetry fan fled the scene but was arrested in a nearby village and charged with murder after a brief stint on the lam – poetic justice, some would argue, both for the murder and for his ludicrous argument.

While the chainsaw has a somewhat fearsome reputation, thanks largely to movies like Scarface and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre events that transpired in Geelong, Australia last month suggest that it may be unfounded – and that a shovel might in fact, be a superior weapon.

Luke Shields and Bradley Mark tested this hypothesis on January 20, 2016 when they engaged in a bloody altercation which involved both of the aforementioned tools. According to the police, Shields, a 35-year-old man of no fixed address confronted Mark, a 36-year-old Grovedale resident, and trouble ensued.

Detective Senior Constable Naomi Bourke explained:

Mark armed himself with a chainsaw and Shields armed himself with a shovel and the two fought across four lanes of traffic in Torquay Rd, narrowly missing being struck by cars.

Staff from a Caltex servo (an Australian expression meaning, a purveyor of gasoline saw Mark fall over on the road and Shields pick up the chainsaw.

The fighting continued into the KFC driveway in front of terrified families, who ran inside and barricaded themselves in.

A witness described Mark holding Shields down and saw blood coming out of Shields’ head.

It is alleged that Mark struck the chainsaw-wielding shields with the shovel until it broke. They then went their separate ways – they then stopped fighting and went their separate ways… at which point the police arrived.

Detective Senior Constable Naomi Bourke continued:

Police arrived and, when confronted, Mark jumped onto the bonnet of the police vehicle and smashed the windscreen with officers inside. OC spray was deployed and he was arrested. Shields was arrested outside Subway.

She noted:

Shields was recently released on a three year Community Corrections Order for armed robbery, has been using drugs since his release and poses a significant risk to the safety and welfare of the community.

At his hearing, Shields was heard to exclaim:

Fuck your bail application, Fuck all youse dogs (an Australian expression meaning, a person who becomes a police informer to avoid prosecution or for personal gain, you’re all lyin’ fuckin’ dogs.

Mark is currently in custody and did not apply for bail.

Your author must admit that he was struck by the apparent novelty of this story. How many times in history have two fully grown (possibly meth-fueled) men gone at it on a busy street, in the middle of the day with a shovel and a chainsaw?

[Source: Herald Sun]

Further reading: It seems that a similar incident transpired in Minnesota in the June of last year – however, the gentlemen involved showed typical Minnesotan restraint as the altercation was verbal in nature and only involved threats.

Police in Saitama, Japan reported the arrest of a 71-year-old woman on suspicion of arson… for allegedly setting her adult son’s room on fire.

According to the Sankei Shimbun, Eiko Sasaki set fire to the room of her 50-year-old son at around 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Her motivation, it would seem, is that he failed to clean up a pile of magazines. The fire went on to destroy the rest of their 50-square meter apartment. Sasaki allegedly confessed to lighting a newspaper and throwing it into her son’s room while he was out.

There are some people who would think that this is an unbelievably sad turn of events. However, when one scratches below the surface and takes a few minutes to ponder the outcome they will realize that the outcomes were not all bad. Aged care services are prohibitively expensive in Japan, a country where wages are low and people treat their elders with great respect. Consequently, it is quite common to find adult children living with and caring for their parents – something that is no doubt stressful for all concerned.

By setting fire to the apartment and confessing to the crime, Sasaki almost certainly guaranteed herself a lengthy custodial sentence. Her son, as a victim of crime, will likely collect the insurance money and have an apartment to himself. Meanwhile, Ms Sasaki will be a guest of the state – which means that she will receive free healthcare, food and accommodation. The downside, obviously, is being in prison; however, as a septuagenarian I would expect her conditions to be comfortable. Japanese prisons are safe, spotlessly clean, and at her age she will be spared the hard labor that younger prisoners are forced to perform – so she gets taken care of in her twilight years and he gets an apartment to himself, all on the government coin.

There are good Samaritans and then there are those who only care about themselves. This is the story of a very good, kind hearted man, who stood up to the selfish meanie who was more than willing to take advantage of a blind man.

It all happened at a Dairy Queen fast food restaurant in Minnesota. That’s where 19-year old Joey Prusak works. The college student is a manager at the store and he’s worked there for 6 years. He was taking orders the day this story takes place and watched as the blind man he was serving dropped a $20 bill from his pocket while pulling out his debit card to pay for his meal.

Prusak watched as the money fell from the man’s pocket and the woman behind him quickly picked it up and put it in her purse as the man passed her. It was obvious to everyone the man was blind and didn’t know he dropped his money.

Cue the collected cries of OMG! She didn’t.

Yes, she did. And that was when Prusak stepped in.

First he asked the woman to return the money to the blind man. She refused saying the money was hers so he told her he couldn’t serve her and she should leave.

But that’s not all. Prusak then went over to the blind man, took $20 out of his own pocket and gave it to him, telling him it was the money the man had dropped. That’s 2 hours wages for Prusak.

Cue cheers and clapping for the good guy.

Now, as the story continues, Prusak didn’t tell people what he did and it was a week or so before the owner of the Dairy Queen location found out about his good deed when she received a letter from another customer who had witnessed the whole event and wanted to praise Prusak. That letter was put on the staff board, then another staff member posted a picture of it to Facebook, that was shared and now Prusak is a global hero. And the unnamed lady who took the money is probably really happy no one could identify her… because it sucks to be a meanie who steals from the blind.

See Prusak’s interview below and be reminded there are a lot of good people in this world. And they don’t finish last. [ Source. ]

It’s beyond awesome. And thankfully Dad is a video artist which means we get a nice video of it all. Just goes to show, playing with your kids is a really good idea. [ Source. ] [ Picture. ]

“It was just out of heart. It wasn’t to get attention or anything. It was just to help somebody in the community, help make sure another little life was okay and make sure her future could be possible.”

This is the reason 15-year old Temar Boggs gave for wanting to join the search to find an abducted 5-year old girl in his community. To “make sure her future could be possible.” It’s a statement from the mouth of a young hero that makes you realize it was in his nature to help find this little girl and the story itself is one that makes you realize Boggs and his friend, Chris Garcia, were listening to their intuition when they were looking for her.

Five-year old Jocelyn Rojas was kidnapped and the whole community were out looking for her. Firefighters, police and volunteers were everywhere. Boggs and Garcia were on their bikes riding around looking for her when Boggs saw a suspicious car and cycled up to him. For whatever reason it spooked the kidnapper who let her go and Boggs brought her back to her parents – as he says he biked with her halfway then carried her the rest.

Amazing story of 2 young men who cared more about the future of a little girl than there social media connections and trying to post updates as much as possible. Here is Boggs interview with the Buddist Broadcasting Community. Read it and realize there are great people out there, born to be compassionate, caring and heroic.

“How did this all happen?

[After finding out about the abduction], we went out there and made a little search party of all of our friends and went to go look for her, go find her.

We looked for about half an hour to about 45 minutes around the area where they said she could have been missing and we couldn’t find her at all so we came back. The whole block was filled with fire fighters, police, newscasts, and so on so forth.

So people were– everybody in the group was scattered out everywhere. People were in their houses. One of my friends was at their houses; most of my friends were talking to other people, and all this other stuff. And I was just up a long thing on the bike and I had a feeling in my stomach that I was going to find the little girl.

And I went toward that way and Chris followed me, and from there, then– and we saw a suspicious car, we looked in the passenger seat: the little girl was in the car. We chased it for about ten to fifteen minutes and I guess he got scared and let her out in the corner.

I picked her up—well, no, I didn’t pick her up, she ran to me and said she needed her mommy, and I rode her back home. Well, halfway, cause the way I had her was dangerous so then I carried her back halfway home.

So what about the car was suspicious, what made it catch your eye?

He was just turning around, like he was turning around down–I wouldn’t say streets, cause they were like little cul-de-sacs, but then they would branch off to another street. So he was turning down those.

So, like, up the hill where I was chasing him down… there was like a car of cops, and he saw them and turned back around and went down the hill. And that just made it a little more suspicious. And then I looked in the passenger seat – the little girl was there.

And when you saw her – were you scared? Did you know it was her? What was going through your mind?

I wasn’t scared, I was just [thinking], “Save the little girl, make sure she was okay.”

So you got her, you took her back, you gave her to the police first? Or did you take her straight to the family?

I took her to… I think it was a firefighter.

And you got to meet her family later. What was that like?

It was just heartwarming, how much love they showed me.

How do you feel about having saved that girl?

It was just out of heart. It wasn’t to get attention or anything. It was just to help somebody in the community, help make sure another little life was okay and make sure her future could be possible.

And your friend Chris, how does he feel about it?

He feels the same way. He did that out of heart, he didn’t do it to receive anything.”

The little girl is safe and now people have started an online donation campaign to start a college fund for the two young heroes, giving back to the good at heart. [ Source. ]
