Naked, “friendly” neighbor dragged from house by epic beard

A 64-year-old Kansas City woman woke to a frightening sight at 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday – her neighbor was standing over her, naked.

When Laurence K. Saunders allegedly grabbed the woman’s arm and told her that he was “just being friendly,” it was more than she could bear. She fought him off, then dragged him to the door of her house by his extremely impressive beard. As they reached the door, Saunders is said to have grabbed her by the throat – an action that earned him three blows to the head with a tape measure. He left.

In the aftermath the woman said that she found the man’s black shorts sitting on her DVD player. She said that she tossed them to him through the window as he sat sobbing on her deck.

Saunders, who police noted was drinking at the time, was charged with burglary, sexual misconduct and two counts of assault. [KC Star]

Man Has Sex Doll Created in Dead Lover’s Image

On the creepiness scale of 1 to 10, this one ranks about a 12.

A 50-year-old businessman spent £15,000 to have a sex shop fashion a sex doll in the likeness of his deceased lover. The process took 18 months and dozens of photos, but the end result was a 58 kg exact replica of the man’s girlfriend.

But as far as sex dolls go, this one would be considered “high end.” Besides having the same facial features and body shape of the woman, the doll has a titanium skeleton with articulating joints, genuine blond hair, and life-like “skin.”

‘It’s the most expensive doll we have ever sold but don’t think it is your traditional inflatable sex toy,’ said Diego Bortolin, of Tentazioni sex shop in Treviso, north Italy.

While the grieving customer remains anonymous, he was apparently pleased with Bortolin’s creation.

And hey, once he gets over the grieving process, he can use his new sex doll to let him drive in the carpool lane.

The full monty scares thief away

A CAR thief ran off when the owner of the vehicle he was about to steal got into the car naked.

Russell Stuart, 51, was woken when he heard his Peugeot car being revved up on his driveway in the early hours, UK’s The Daily Telegraph reported.

Mr Stuart ran outside, opened the passenger door and sat beside the thief – not realising he had forgotten to get dressed.

As soon as the thief saw Stuart, he flung the door open and made a run for it.

I just got out of bed and ran to my car, opened the passenger door and sat down, I said to him, ‘all right mate, where are we going then?’ And he jumped out of the car and legged it. I don’t know what the guy must have thought when a large naked bloke got into the car next to him, but when your car is being stolen you don’t think about it, you just react.

Mr Stuart drove around the town looking for the thief but, still naked, gave up after a while in case he got pulled over for indecent exposure.

The two-million dollar car

It took less than 30 minutes for the latest Rolls-Royce model to find an owner, despite a $2 million price tag.

Then again, the open-air Phantom was revealed at Pebble Beach in California, the scene of America’s most cashed-up annual car show. The Concours d’Elegance judging at Pebble, on the 18th fairway of one of the country’s most-famous golf courses, usually draws a collection of restored classics with a combined price tag that stretches beyond $250 million.

The special Phantom was created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Pebble Beach classic and was re-worked from a Phantom Drophead Coupe, a convertible with a starting price of $1.35 million in Australia.

The bespoke department at Rolls-Royce in England went all the way on the car, starting with a special one-off Bespoke exterior colour called Stillwater Blue as a tribute to Stillwater Cove on the Monterey Peninsula. The car’s navy blue soft-top is lined with cashmere and upholstered in a cream-coloured leather interior. Interior wood fittings combine cross-banded Santos Pallisander veneer with a silver pinstripe inlay.

The car has special teak decking for the roof tonneau and luggage compartment, which is loaded with a fitted champagne set to take advantage of the refrigerated cabinet beneath the floor in the boot. The final Bespoke touches are an enameled plaque on the dash with special Concours logs on the tread plates and embroidered on the seats.

Trapped Chilean miner has some explaining to do

One of the things that sucks about being stuck in a collapsed mine – aside from the darkness, claustrophobia and millions of tons of rock above your head – is that you have no control over what happens on the surface.

Such is the case for one of Chile’s 33 trapped miners, Yonni Barrios. The 50-year-old, who was responsible for vaccinating all of the trapped men (including himself) against influenza and pneumonia has found himself in a spot of bother on the home front. When his wife, 56-year-old Marta Salinas showed up at the site, she heard another Susana Valenzuela shouting his name and realized she was not the only woman in his life.

Ms Salinas had this to say of the matter:

Barrios is my husband. He loves me and I am his devoted wife. This woman has no legitimacy.

Susana Valenzuela, who met him five years ago at a training seminar, seemed undeterred:

We are in love. I’ll wait for him.

It sounds like there is plenty of Yonni Barrios to go around.

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband “wants to have her plastinated”

Frederic von Anhalt, the count husband of the gravely ill 93-year-old actress Zsa Zsa Gabor has said that he hopes to have her plastinated after she dies.

He told the Bild:

My wife has always dreamt that her beauty would be immortal. I would like to show the plastinated body of Zsa Zsa Gabor in the context of a scene in one of her films.

Von Anhalt plans to get the famous German anatomist Gunther von Hagens to carry out the procedure.

Plastination has always seemed a little gross, but when you reduce it to raw science it is actually kind of cool. Fat and water from the body is replaced with different polymers – permanently staving off decomposition. So there is no faulting von Anhalt for his decision there, nor is there really an issue with him making arrangements while she is still among the living. Plastination is a long and complicated process that is presumably best started while the body is reasonably fresh. When something takes 1,500 man-hours to do, you want to make sure the right people have time in their schedules.

When it comes down to it, the only that is gross, and also somewhat douchey, is von Anhalt discussing his plans with a German tabloid while his wife is dying in hospital.

Sick, stranded whale to be put out of misery with explosives

A whale that is stranded and sick is set to leave this world a bang… of explosives that is.

The Western Australia Department of Environment and Conservation have decided that the unusual step is necessary because the 9.5m aquatic mammal is too big to shoot.

When the time comes, an exclusion zone will be placed around the stricken creature – it is presently stranded on a sandbar in Albany’s Princess Royal Harbour (about 390km southeast of Perth, Western Australia). Sandbags will then be placed on the whale’s head and then, in the words of the eminently quotable Steve Jobs, BOOM! (...)

Changi Airport adds giant corkscrew slide

Singapore’s Changi Airport just got a whole lot more fun (and expensive) with an exciting new addition. The Slide@T3, which is located in Terminal 3 is a 12-meter-high corkscrew-like contraption that rockets passengers down its slope at a speed of 6 meters per second.

To partake in the fun, you will have to part with some money – $SPD 25 scores you two rides. I’m presuming that the slide cost a lot to build, so its probably fair – and it costing what it does means that the queues to get on the thing will be short enough that everyone gets a turn.

How not to kill a spider

When his wife screamed there was a spider in the house, Chris Welding sprang to her defense, nearly killing himself in the process.

The IT engineer chased the spider into their bathroom in Clacton, Essex, England.

Wielding a flammable aerosol can, he sprayed the spider as it cowered behind the toilet pan and then lit a cigarette lighter to see if he had killed it – his curiosity very nearly killed him.

The lighter flame ignited the aerosol gas and caused a massive explosion that knocked Mr Welding off his feet and into the hall – leaving him with severe burns and blowing the loft door off its hinges.

He suffered flash burns to his head, legs and torso and was rushed by ambulance to hospital after dousing himself in cold water.

He said:

It was about 10.30pm last night. My wife Janine was getting ready for bed and suddenly she let out a scream, She said there was a spider in the bathroom and asked me to get rid of it – neither she or the kids would go in there. The spider had crawled into the recess behind the loo and there was no way I could get to it. Stupid as it is, I grabbed a can of deodorant and a lighter and sprayed it behind the loo. The flame shot out and went round the back of the toilet and came back out at me. It was a bit of a shock. I’ve got two burned fingers and a burned knuckle

A fire brigade spokesman said firemen found no evidence of the spider, dead or alive.

The Essex Fire Service spokesman said:

We’re not entirely sure whether the spider got away or not but there was no sign of it at the scene
