If you are looking for ways on how to increase the activity of your forum, then you have come at the right place in the web. This article will provide you what you’re looking for. Here’s what you need to do to maximize forum activity.

1. Utilize mass email feature in your forum –. Mass email feature is provided by most forum hosts nowadays which you can make use of in order to increase the activity of your forum. This enables the board owner to communicate with its member through email notifications. Unfortunately, this is often overlooked by many board owners, without knowing its great advantage. By notifying your forum members about upcoming plans or events using this mass email feature regularly, they will be able to know that you’re still active.

2. Keep posting – Remember, forum’s bloodline is its post. If you stop posting in your forum just because no one else is willing to post, chances are it would fail and will become inactive permanently. Create as many topics as you can that you think will entice other members to post in your board. Make them relevant and interesting. As you do this, don’t be discouraged just because your members are not posting yet. The more you post, the higher your chance to encourage them to post as well, so keep posting.

3. Create a Contest – one great way to increase activity of your forum is through a contest. People love competition and all you have to do is to offer one. You just have to make sure that your members will be interested to join and participate to that contest. Make it suitable to your forum’s style and niche. Let’s say for example your forum’s niche is about graphics, host a contest that is related to graphics. Don’t be discouraged if the contest you have created did not “click”. You can create one after another until you come up with the one that will surely encourage your members to join. You can even ask your members what they would like to compete about.

4. Promote your forum effectively – In order to achieve maximized forum activity, you have to gain more people or members to post in your forum. How will you be able to attract more members if you cannot make your forum visible to them? Of course, as board owner, you have to do your job effectively. That is to advertise your forum very well. Make your forum visible to your target niche. This doesn’t mean that you have to invest huge amount of money in advertising. Fortunately, many search engines, directories and forums that allow board owners to plug their forums onto their databases. All you have to do is to plug your forums on their databases to acquire more potential members.

5. Reward your “Active Poster” Members – this is a great way to motivate your members especially new ones to post in your forum. Create a few tiers of rewards. Let’s say, you will offer a reward for someone that will be able reach certain number of posts within the given period, let’s say weekly or monthly. In this strategy, you will be able to accomplish two targets: Encourage your members to become an active poster and maximize your forum activity.

Backlinks are simply hyperlinks published on various websites that lead back to your site. Having backlinks offer many advantages to your personal site. While there are many SEO experts that offer information on the best methods of gaining different kinds of links its helpful to understand what they are and how they are used.

By using backlinks you can increase the ranking for your site. A direct correlation can be found between the page rank of a site and amount of inbound links that point to that site. Users need to remember the different between a website and web page too. While a web page is just one page with only one URL that is used for linking, a website contains several pages that each need links to gain the same page rank. For instance the main URL of a site might be ranked in the top 10, but the inner pages might not be ranked at all.

These links will also help to increase the amount of traffic that a website has. The increased page rank created an increase in the organic traffic and often helps to provide a steady source of potential profits. Also, the higher a search engine ranks your site, the more traffic it will have.

Bots are used by computers to index and rank individual websites. One of the things they take into account is the trust other websites show towards yours. When a site is willing to link to yours without reciprocal link, it assumes you must have some information that others are willing to share. The more a bot sees this happen they higher page rank it will give.

These links also help to increase the amount of money that a site can generate. Using sites to generate income is helping the Internet to grow by millions of websites a week. The more links to your site the greater your chances of turning a profit are.

The Internet is connected by a spider web of hyperlinks and there is room to build your site into the booming traffic gem you desire. The more popular a site, the higher the page rank, the higher the page rank the more traffic. The increase in traffic means there are more customers looking to your products or services.

The most important thing to remember in any website is that content is king. As you add more content you need to remember to add more backlinks that will start the linking cycle all over again.

For people that intend to build a small web site that doesn’t need regular updates made then a static HTML website might suffice. However, if you want to build a bigger site with lots of content that needs constant changes a web content management system might be what you’re looking for.

The decision on which CMS system is right for you will depend on the needs of your site. There are several features to consider before picking the software that’s right for your business.

One feature you’ll want to look for is an admin panel that allows you access with a user name and password. In this panel you will have the ability to update and add content across all web pages automatically.

Creating online surveys polls is built into the CMS. This will allow information to be easily collected and stored as well as the publishing of results.

Using templates lets you separate the design from the content. A new design can change the look and feel of the website without altering the content on the site.

Enabling the author access allows you to set up different permissions for each person that will be authoring content. For example, one person can be allowed to add content, while another might have the ability to change the template.

A content management system contains stores the front end files of the site on your computer. By running the CMS on your computer have more control over your files. This also allows you to alter and upload them as needed. It will also have a database that stores the information which runs on a hosted server. Many web hosts have several CMS systems to available to choose from. Simply install it from the admin panel of your host. Be sure to check your hosting service first as not all of them have this feature.

An RSS feeds, really simple syndication, allows content to automatically published to RSS directories. This allows visitors to access your content with their feed readers and will attract more search engine traffic.

The final benefit of a content management system is that is allows you to update the content from anywhere that you have internet access. Even if your authors are from different countries they can all access and contribute to your site.

Any large site that needs frequent updating by different authors should consider a web content management system. Just be sure to check out several programs to choose the right one for your site.

Businesses big and small can benefit from having their own website since almost everyone is connected to the internet. The Internet has made the world smaller and allows the information to travel around the globe almost instantly. Having a website can provide people with almost limitless benefits.

A business website is much cheaper and more adaptable compared to traditional print advertising. The site can help to save businesses money while also reaching a far greater audience. It also provides additional means that you are able to more effectively communicate with your potential clients. This helps to strengthen the relationships between the business and their consumers.

Worldwide accessibility is another benefit provided by a website. A good site can allow a small business to grow into a global one. By being able to reach people around the globe you consumer population grows and becomes more diverse.

Websites also removes the traditional issues of office hours. Since a site runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the service is constantly running. The site will need maintenance, but that is a minor issue.

Website also allows consumers the convenience of no longer having to search brick and mortar stores to find the products or services they need. A company website can provide them with all the information they need any time they wish to access it.

It is also possible to add value and satisfaction by providing individualized customer services and convenience. A website that provides all these things will also be more memorable to your clientele. While providing relevant content to your customers on the site you are able to forge a bond with your audience.

CSS template shopping is a lot like looking for almost anything else. Would you buy a pair of shoes without soles? Would you consider a car without the wheels? The same principle applies to choosing the right CSS template layouts for your web site. Using CSS templates benefits your web site in terms of speed and capability.

There are thousands of CSS templates layouts on the World Wide Web. The majority of these can be downloaded free. Choosing the one that is right for you is important, especially for the long run. You may want to modify the design later to suit your needs. Not all template designers know CSS well enough to make the perfect template. You must kick the tires to coin a phrase before you choose one to use on your web site.

While it is important for you to check that all the blocks on the template are well commented, be careful not to change any of the code unless you are well versed in CSS. Not long ago, commenting all the blocks on a template was necessary, almost all current web browsers now know haw to read style tags and what to do with them.

Be careful to choose a CSS Template that requires little maintenance and more importantly, one that has external link capability. Being able to modify your template from an externally linked document ensures the ability to modify all the pages on your site rather than modifying them individually.

If you do not know how to work with Java Script or Flash, you may want to make sure your new Template does not have these languages enabled, as they are very hard to learn and work with quickly.

Your new CSS Template should not be over-populated with images. The less crowded the template is, the more creative space you will have in order to make something that is uniquely your own. Take your time while previewing possible candidates for your websites. There are plenty of CSS Templates out there to choose. You will save time in the long run if you take time now to find a well written template with plenty of room to work with.

Another aspect of a CSS Template that is important to check before downloading is the logical naming of conventions. CSS class and divs should be named logically to help identify where on the document they are located. Names like upper right or left column are preferred as it shows professionalism in the designer of the template. Since these names are totally at the discretion of the designer, watch out for names that do little to identify the location of the convention they support.

Finally, the best place to obtain a great CSS Template that will be easy to work with is from a professional. You may have to pay a little to get it but it is well worth it for the quality. Remember, using CSS Templates benefits you and the people who will view your site, so choose a good one.

CSS or Cascading Style Sheets were born of necessity. HTML is a great language and if you know tables, you can lay down a nice, basic web page. This has not changed. HTML is still a great tool for basic web page content. What has changed is that CSS has the ability to write the way a page is designed much easier than HTML making them the preferred method of creating a web sites personality.

Today, CSS and CSS templates has evolved into three upgraded versions each one capably of more sophisticated design. Its popularity has grown to the point where there are now more CSS users than HTML. Type the words CSS tutorial in any search engine and you will find pages of websites willing to teach you everything from the basics to advance Cascading Style Sheets usage.

The main reason CSS initially attracted more users was for its time saving properties. In HTML, if you wanted to change the font in the headers of twenty pages, you had to change the code in twenty different pages. With CSS Templates, you do not even have to change the web pages; you make the change in a CSS file linked to the web site and upload it from there. All the pages change automatically. That is the beauty and simplicity of Cascading Style Sheets.

A CSS template is simply a design of a web page that can be used on any web site document giving it the look and feel of the template. You can find thousands of CSS templates on the internet. Most of the CSS Template are free. This makes the very popular and desirable for people who are making their first website and for business web designers looking for a particular feel. The text can still be loaded onto an off-site document so that changes to the site can be made remotely.

The telephone was a great invention. It did not take long before there was a landline-based phone in almost every home in the country. Then the cell phone came along. Now people could do more with less. There are numerous applications that you can use with a cell phone that simply cannot be done on a home phone. Yet, there is still a landline-based phone in almost every home in the country. Did people stop using their home phone even though they have a cell phone? Not! HTML still has its applications. CSS enhances those applications.

HTML or Hypertext Markup Language is a language that uses text to speak to a web browser. It tells the web browser what is on the document and how to interpret it. That is why we are able to see the content of a web page.

XML or Extensible Markup Language provides the rules for which languages encode a document. XML has other applications but its primary purpose is to allow HTML and other markup languages to encode a document. It provides the guidelines for all the languages to work with.

XHTML or Extensible Hypertext Markup Language is HTML reformulated as an XML friendly language. It is similar to HTML in most ways with a few minor differences.

CSS or Cascading Style Sheets can be used with all of the above. Another way to describe what CSS does for web pages is to take your living room as an example. Ten months out of the year, it is just a living room. You put up a Christmas tree with lights and decorations. Burn some pine scented incense or oils and light the fireplace. Put some Christmas music on softly in the background and bake cookies in the kitchen. Now when you walk into your living room it feels like Christmas. CSS is the application that puts the feel into a web page. It sets the mood and the tone that you want your visitors to feel when they enter your website. CSS is the style in HTML and XHTML documents.

Using a CMS a site may be produced that enables the client to catalog and update many items including personnel information, schedules, and maintain other content without needing to learn HTML.

There are many CMS systems for people to choose from. Several of these programs are free. Be sure to look at the authors’ websites to make sure you pick the content management system that is right for your needs. Also, if you’re going to use the CMS for an e-commerce site then choose a package that is specifically designed with those needs in mind such as Zen Cart or osCommerce.

Joomla can be used for virtually any kind of website. This includes personal sites, business sites, online publications and e-commerce. Joomla is also easy to install and the setup process can be completely automated if your host has Fantastico installed.

Website Baker is a PHP based allowing users the ability to play around with the page to make it look how they want it to if they are fairly competent with PHP. There are also many add-ons that can be installed including photo albums, message boards, catalogs, and an online payment option.

Drupal requires special training in how to use it. Unless you are an expert in the system it’s best to avoid it and find something a little more beginner friendly.

Mambo offers a number of themes from which a good website can be created with only minor changes. It is also easy to use, versatile and popular.

phpWebSite offers users many things. Among the add-ons available are a document manager, calendar, form generators, polling system and photo album. However, it does require some PHP knowledge to do most of the customizing.

Before trying any software be aware that there may be a learning curve. Keep this in mind when choosing the right content management system for your website needs.

A WYSIWYG web editor can let you easily and quickly develop your own website. There are many of these editors available today so be sure to find the one that properly suits your business needs.

All websites are coded using HTML. This language tells the various browser you want your site to be seen by the use of various tags. HTML coding can be a daunting challenge and many people simply don’t have the time to learn it themselves. An editor allows you to create the content for your site without needing to know HTML. This is great for beginners that have no background knowledge in web design.

The premier WYSIWYG editor is Adobe Dreamweaver. This is a highly feature package that supports XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, PHP and more. It also offers integration with other Adobe Creative Suite with products including Photoshop.

Microsoft Expression Web is the replacement to Frontpage that Microsoft created to target more serious designers. The package offers many of the same features and standards as Dreamweaver, but is missing the support that was available in Frontpage. As a result it requires a lot of learning as well as costing $300.

KompoZer is an open source editor. The software is free to download and produces a standards compliant HTML web editor. However, it lacks the advanced applications that software like Dreamweaver offers. It does do a sufficient job and includes FTP so the site can go online easily.

Other web editors that worth checking out include SeaMonkey and CoffeCup. SeaMonkey is free and is part of a complete internet application suite as part of the Mozilla project. CoffeeCup has a lot of good features and is a fraction of the cost of many other programs. The package also offers renowned support and free upgrades.

So which is the one suitable for me? You will have to try it out yourself.

Website was developed about 15 years ago. It started as a full text medium and developed to full-featured and more sophisticated applications. As it improved from mostly text, more and more website images were added to make diverse web pages lively and interesting.

As these development emerge—more website images/photos were added several image formats was developed which was patronized by web browsers: The JPEG, GIF, and PNG Format. PNG is the newest of the three, but after few years, browsers who use the PNG format dramatically declined.

Now, the question is: Which format should you use to display your website images? Is it the JPEG, GIF, or PNG? To answer those queries let’s discuss each format to determine which format we should use.

The GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)

This format is the eldest of the three. It was out in 1987. The key feature of this format is 256 maximum colors only—which means that not more that 256 colors shall appear in an image, there’s limitation when used on photographs. If you use GIF to save digital images, you may observe that there are colors that don’t blend because of the limitation of color palette to 256 only.

Because GIF’s 256 color limitation, this format is best used on website images with limited colors like: logos and illustrations, screenshots with limited and solid color and saving them in a dialog box as GIF. Saving screenshots in GIF format will be smaller than saving it as JPEG format, even if you compress it to the highest extent.

Another advantage of using GIF is you can format your website images and make it transparent, which will enable you to make these website images and or additional graphics jive with the color or background of your webpage.

The JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

The JPEG is the most popular among the three formats; this format is used for saving images from digital cameras. From its description itself we may assume to what this format is designed for—JPEG-“Joint Photographic Experts Group”. JPEG can accommodate from thousands to millions of colors, unlike GIF which supports only 256 colors. Meaning this format is far more advanced than the GIF as far as photographic website images’ quality is concern. And JPEG format is supported by all web browsers and image editors which make it perfect format when displaying or loading website images and photos in your website.

Another thing about JPEG is that when using the JPEG format, it is faster loading website images on your website depending on how much compression you will use on the file. The more you compress the file the smaller it gets and the faster you will be able to load it in your website, which is good! But, the problem is, too much compression of the file will affect the quality of the website images/photos. Therefore, for the quality of the photos not to be put in jeopardy, you have to use the right amount of compression. The file becomes smaller but the photos would still look great!

And if you will just be printing using the JPEG format, compression is not advisable. You may do so but use minimal compression.

The PNG (Portable Network Graphics)

The PNG format is the latest. It was launched in 1996 as a response to overcome the technical shortcomings of the GIF format. Meaning PNG is the improved of the GIF type file format. PNG file supports the 256 colors (GIF) format also called PNG-8 (8-bit), PNG-24 (24 bit) 16.7 million colors, and even as high as 48-bits! However, there are advantages and disadvantages in using this PNG format in website images.

Using the PNG format, files tend to be larger compared either to GIF or JPEG files. The same as the JPEG file, PNG file can also be compressed like the JPEG format. PNG’s compression is lossless—meaning even if the file is compressed the quality of the file is the same as the original – Which is also the reason why the PNG file is much larger than the JPEG of the same file.

Another thing is the browser support. Yes, new browsers today supports PNG format but what about the visitors of your website? The visitors of your website might still be using an old-model browser—IE 6.0 for instance which does not support the PNG format, therefore they will not be able to see your website images which may be important for your visitors.

The PNG format is becoming trendier because of the quality of the website images it provides, especially for smaller sizes. You can use PNG format for smaller website images with very minimal difference. But when it comes to larger photographic website images, I will prefer the JPEG format.

Choosing an image format to be used in a website images is very important; you have to consider a lot of factors: One is the compatibility of the browsers which are widely used by your target consumer or visitor so that website images or photos will be easy to download or viewed. Another is the kind of website images or photos you will be loading to your web site, the quality and the size.

The use of attraction marketing has made blogging for profit easier than ever before. By using this blogging business model you can put yourself before and company, product or service that you represent. Since many companies and products come and go it’s very important to brand yourself first and foremost. By being yourself and authentic you will also attract like minded people that are interested in your niche.

At the core of the attraction marketing model is leadership and you need to provide value with your content. A general rule of thumb says that you need to be giving 80-90% of the time and asking from something from your readers only 10-20% of the time. This is where you are giving the majority of the time and you put your last with the follower becoming the priority.

You blog will become the center of all your online activity. You will need to drive traffic back to your blog using social media, SEO, marketing and more. You will also need to use pictures, video and audio to help create your brand. By adding value to your blog you will build a relationship with your followers as well as an email list of contacts. This will then allow you to introduce your following to various network marketing opportunities, affiliate products, information products or services and more. These can be your primary income generators or you can also promote banner advertising through services such as Google ads.

A blog at WordPress.org is a good place to establish a blog. Its also recommended to use a self host site service such as www.HostGator.com. These services make installing your blog very easy. You will have full control and marketing of the site and your personal brand. Blogging for profit can be fun while also being a powerful marketing tool that allows you to further your relationships with prospects and increase the awareness of your own personal brand.
