1. Scheduling Work Onto Nights and Weekends

On the days when our little ones are at home, we acquire less completed work in our hands. It’s just a fact. So we often pack our work-focused days into the edge in order to get ahead what’s really necessary. Of course, it is inevitable that something will come up that pile up our work on the week. Instead of pushing things off on the next week when they could be scheduled properly, we tend to wish to take care of everything right away. This means we’re up late, up early and working weekends pretty regularly. Not only does this put me on the path to burnout, but it also takes away crucial family time and much needed down time.

2. Transforming into a Hermit

When you have a growing to-do list and a limited timeframe to focus, it is effortless to become a shut-in in order to obtain it all completed. We all come to realize later that we had weeks that come Friday we hadn’t left the house at all! Not giving ourselves a chance to acquire out from the work-at-home environment, even if it’s just running towards store with the kids for an hour, is really a poor habit that can make me a bit crazed at the end with the week.

Nevertheless, this doesn’t happen if they spur us out in the moment and unplanned. Scheduled in advance and prioritized is the only way to make interruptions become much more manageable.

5. Doing Multitasking

We can be frequently doing a handful of items at a single time, particularly when kids are house. While I don’t believe multitasking is always terrible, I do think I could be a lot more productive if I tried focusing on only one thing at a time, at least sometimes. I bet I would not feel nearly as scattered at the end with the day!
