37th Annual International Dinner

VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University’s Society for International Students will host its 37^th Annual International Dinner, Share More: Share Culture, Diversity and Friendship, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, in the Student Union Ballrooms.

The dinner will feature dishes from each of the four Global Regions: The Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe. Dishes are prepared by VSU students with the help of VSU Dining staff and served to over 300 guests.

“This night gives our local community a chance to sample flavors of international culture for the eyes, ears and pallet,” said Lauren Braun, international student coordinator. “It will certainly be a memorable event for all who attend.”

During the dinner, students will entertain guests with traditional and modern songs, performances, dances, music and skits. Among the performances, there will be an international fashion show where students will display traditional attire from their home countries.

The International Dinner began 36 years ago as a way for VSU’s international students to share part of their culture with the Valdosta community. Currently there are over 270 international students from over 60 different countries attending VSU.

Advanced tickets are now on sale in the Center for International Programs office. Non-VSU guest tickets will be $20. VSU student tickets will be $10 with a student ID and children five and under are free. If available, tickets will be sold at the door for an adjusted price of $25 per ticket.

Celebrating the 36th International Dinner:

The International Dinner was started over 35 years ago as a way for VSU’s International Students to share part of their culture with the Valdosta community. It is a celebration of cultural diversity that can be found in Valdosta. Currently there are over 250 international students from over 60 different countries attending VSU.
The 36th Annual International Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 6pm, in the Valdosta State University Student Union Ballroom. Tickets are on sale now at the Center for International Programs. Tickets are $20 for non-VSU guests and $10 for VSU students. Children 5 and under are free for admission. 2nd Annual International Soccer Tournament

The Society for International Students is pleased to announce our 2nd Annual International Soccer Tournament: Proceeds to UNICEF. This year we will have all-mens and co-ed categories, 11 on 11. It will take place at the North Campus field, on two different weekends - November 4th through 6th and 11th through13th. The tournament will count with certified referees, and rule books- will be e-mailed to team captains along with the match schedule. Download the application here.

The 33rd Annual International Dinner

The Valdosta State University Society for International Students (SIS) will present the 33d Annual International Dinner on Saturday, April 4, at the St. John Catholic Church.
Doors open at 7:00 pm for the Dinner and a Show.

The dinner will feature dishes from over 25 countries including Germany, Belize, Bulgaria, India, Korea, Japan, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Colombia, France, the Bahamas, Ghana, Ethiopia, and others.

After dinner, students will entertain guests with traditional and modern songs,
dances, music, and skits. Among the performances, there will be International Fashion Show, Asian and Latin American Dances, Belizean music, singing, guitar playing and other performances.

There will be plenty of opportunities to interact with students from various countries and take pictures with VSU international students. The program will also include raffle, door prizes, and silent actions for various international souvenirs.

Tickets to the International Dinner must be purchased in advance and are available at the Center for International Programs on Georgia Ave. Ticket cost: Adults - $20, VSU students (with VSU student ID) - $10, children under 5 - free.
