The original Branchwraith model is not very good and it’s only available in finecast so I kit-bashed my own version. It’s based on a spare Branchwych I got in a Start Collection box. I added some Dryad parts and tried to create a base that complements the pose of the model. I’m really happy with the final result.

Da ich zwar großer Fan der Alarith Seite der Lumineth bin, aber mit den riesigen Kuhhelmen der Stoneguard nichts anfangen kann, habe ich den oberen Teil der Helme abgelassen und das Ende ein bisschen selbst zurecht geschnitzt. Ich finde die Modelle so deutlich besser.

So gefällt mir das Model schon deutlich besser und ich bin auch ziemlich zufrieden mit der Bemalung.

The -1 to hit aura of Neferata was a strong hit against my core of 20 Sisters of the Watch and also the 20 Wildwood Rangers. On top of that I didn’t manage to get all the Wildwood Rangers (2 damage against monsters) into combat against the Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon which meant they weren’t able to kill him, which in turn left my right flank very open.

My left flank went okay with a big block of 10 Wild Riders charging forward, but in the end they didn’t have the damage output to really punch through.

I did a head swap replacing the original ones with Eternal Guard heads. It’s not a perfect fit but with some cutting it’s good enough. The joint is concealed by the arms and hands on most models anyway. I also cut out two of the bow strings to make it look more traditional.

Overall I’m very happy with the look of my Sentinels – and I only cut myself once so far. On to the next five to complete the first unit.

Today I finished another unit of 10 Eternal Guard for my Cities of Sigmar, Living City army. I’m very happy with the outcome, especially considering that I tried to paint them a bit quicker and make the scheme a bit simpler. I think that worked out very well and they look really good together.

I’m currently experimenting with a different photo setup. It’s very simple and quick to set up while looking pretty good.

Ich weiß schon lange, dass das nicht gut ist, ich merke es ja selbst. Ich wurde besser darin und habe es den ein oder anderen Tag vermieden oder bin zumindest nicht so lange dran geblieben. Aber jetzt ist gänzlich Schluss damit. Ich habe mir einen ganz simplen, digitalen Wecker gekauft, dessen Helligkeit verstellbar ist. Ich bin nämlich eine kleine empflindliche Blume.

Zwei Nächte habe ich jetzt ohne iPhone neben mir verbracht und es ist… befreiend? Ich lasse das iPhone abends im Bad, gehe ins Bett und liege einfach da. Ich habe Zeit und Ruhe um einfach nochmal ein bisschen nachzudenken bevor ich einschlafe. Ich empfinde wirklich ein richtiges Glücksgefühl von Freiheit. Das klingt krass es so zu schreiben, aber so hat es sich echt angefühlt.

Morgens bin ich die letzten zwei Tage dann sogar im Bad am iPhone vorbei gegangen und habe erstmal Frodo in den Garten gelassen, ihm Futter gegeben und mir einen Kaffee gemacht. Und erst dann habe ich das iPhone genommen und geschaut was ich so dringendes verpasst habe. Natürlich nichts. Also vielleicht bleibt es demnächst noch länger im Bad im Flugmodus liegen.

Vielleicht ja sogar mal einen ganzen Tag?

I’m really happy with how they have turned out. I think my color scheme is fitting for the Lumineth while simultaneously paying tribute to the old high elves.

Painting bright, clean colors, especially white is challenging and takes a lot of time to get right, but it’s worth the effort. But I had to break up the process with some rough, dark Stormcast and simple Contrast Paint Squigs.

I have also played a couple test games with the Lumineth so far and they are a very interesting and challenging army to play. But more on that in a different post maybe.

Jetzt fehlen nur noch fünf weitere Sisters of the Watch für eine komplett bemalte 2000 Punkte Living City Liste.

Da hier der Großteil der Leser vermutlich keinerlei Verbindung zu, Vorstellung von oder Erfahrung mit Warhammer oder dem Bemalen von Miniaturen hat, zeige ich auch mal ein paar Bilder aus dem Bemalprozess.

Alles an Marcels Erklärung und Argumentation kann ich zu 100% nachvollziehen, tue mich aber trotzdem immer wieder schwer damit es durchzuziehen, weil ich denke “aber ich müsste doch”.

Das geht mir mit der Sprach- und Themenwahl dieses Blogs so, aber auch mit anderen Themen wie der Qualität der Bemalung meiner Warhammer Figuren.
Es fällt mir dort zum Beispiel schwer schlechter und schneller zu malen als ich es könnte und damit ein visuell schlechteres Ergebnis zu erzeugen als mir möglich ist – obwohl es mir vielleicht mehr Spaß bringt, weil es gut genug ist und der Prozess durch weniger Druck entspannter ist und das Fertigstellen von Projekten ein tolles Gefühl erzeugt.

Aber ich arbeite daran und so ein Artikel wie der oben verlinkte hilft mir dabei den Fokus auf mich und meine Freude zu lenken und nicht darauf was z.b. andere von mir oder meinen Kreationen denken oder was ich glaube, was die Welt von mir erwartet.
