for avoiding many of the common mistakes made when trying to optimize a
site. It is surprising to me how many professionals make these mistakes
when they are working for a client.

The truth is, they are easily avoided when you pay close attention to
the basics. My goal is to share with you four basic errors made when
trying to optimize for a front page ranking. They are, of course, easy
to correct.

Keyword Research Errors

When a person goes to Google, Yahoo or Bing and enters a word or phrase
to search for what they are doing is searching on a keyword.

In
good SEO you want to match the search words with the keywords on your
page so that when someone
searches for a particular word or phrase your
page is likely to show up on top.

There
is a method to choosing keywords that is proven time and time again to
work. The best keywords or phrases are those that are relevant to your
website, to your product or service, that have a high search volume,
anything over 7,000 monthly searches is okay, and shows little
competition for that keyword or phrase.

Relevancy
is obvious. If you sell purple widgets then a keyword like silver
earrings is not relevant

while violet widgets may be one that works well
for you. .............!!!!!!

Just as importantly, these days it's critical to have the proper
Wordpress plugins to help coordinate easy sharing between your Facebook,
Twitter, blog and other social media accounts and allow your consumers
and fans to share your content as well.

Here are some easy-to-use Wordpress plugins I have found that are easy
to use, install and will help you get the most out of your blog and
other social media accounts.

Easy To Use Wordpress Plugins

One of my favorite plugins is sociable. It allows you to give
your blog readers about 30 different social media sites to share your
content with. All they have to do is click on the link. You can choose
from all 30 or just the main ones you think readers will want to
utilize.

Another favorite is the Google +1 button.
It gives your blog an edge since many blogs don't yet feature this neat
little feature that is similar to Facebook's Like Button. With enough
+1 button clicks on an article you'll move up in the Google page
rankings.

To help with getting the word out on your blog and sharing, Onlywire is another plugin that makes life easier for the social media practitioner.

This plugin can be easily configured so that each time you post on a
blog, your other social media accounts like Linkedin, Digg and others
are notified as well (as long as you have accounts with each of those
social media sites).

All-in-one-SEO
is a tool that automatically optimizes your Wordpress blog for

search
engine optimization.

In layman's terms, it means it will helped you get
ranked higher in Google so you may wind up

on page one of searches
rather than page 13.

Another tool I really like appears at the left upper corner of my blog.
It's called the Follow Me button

and the plugin is called My Social Links Bar. It allows fans to click on the button

and be taken to my Facebook, YouTube and Twitter pages.

Stop Comment Spam Dead

I would also be remiss if I didn't conclude with my favorite plugin of the moment. Called the Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin, this baby has pretty much ended my problem of those pesky fans seeking backlinks to their websites.

Ask any blogger what one of their biggest headaches is and they'll
readily concede it's people who leave comments on blogs that are nothing
more than backlinks to their website. This tool eliminated my problem
the minute I installed it.

Previously I was getting about 6-10 comments on posts each day that were
pure nonsense save for the backlinks contained in the comments.

I'll admit these aren't all the plugins I use, but these should give you
some good ideas what you'll need if you want to get serious about being
sociable.

About the Author:

Intentionally getting those pages to rank is SEO or Seach Engine Optimization.
SEO
and Google, Yahoo and Bing are not always in sync and the primary
culprits are spam and other devious methods to get unworthy sites to
rank in search engines. These other methods include paid links to pages,
setting up phony sites with stolen or scraped content to send links to
other sites, and phony or fake social media profiles to send even more
links.

The
search engines don't like spam, paid links, link farms, link schemes,
and other methods to influence the rankings. They have published terms
of service and these techniques are against their terms of service. They
are often called blackhat SEO techniques.

What Do The Search Engines Really Want?

Let's start with why search is so valuable. Search engine advertising
through pay-per-click
is a multi-billion dollar industry. Google's
success is based primarily on Adwords.
To make it as simple as possible -
search engines need good content
to lure searchers to use their search
tool.

Good content from the search results is good for the search engines,

searchers and those web pages that are ranked at the top of the results.

Everybody is happy except for owners of websites that
are not ranking
who feel they have better content.

How Do Search Engines Determine Results

First, the search engines don't tell us the formulas or algorithms they
use to determine search rank.
They tell us what they believe ideal
content is, but you can create the exact content they want,
the best in
the world, and still not be found in the top results.

For the most part, search engine computer programs are determining the
pages that rank.
These programs take signals from two major groups - the
web page, and external authority signals.

The web page is the content that you, your visitors and the search
engines see when they visit. Visitors are looking for information and to
have their questions answered. Search engines are looking for signals
related to the search terms. The signals include the page title, page
description, heading tags, word frequency and related terms.

The authority signals are mostly from outside your site and can be
thought of as links back to the page. The number of links is important,
but where they come from is even more important. A link from General
Motors to your Corvette content page is worth much more than a link from
your friend Vinny. In fact, it may be worth a thousand links from other
websites.

The best authority link is from an industry leader with your exact
anchor text. If General Motors sends their visitors to your Classic
Corvette Parts site with that exact anchor text, you have it nailed. Get
two or three of those big time links, and you'll be in good shape.
Unfortunately, that just doesn't happen very often.

Give Search Engines The Signals They're After

Google and the other search engines want to give top rankings to the
highest authority on a subject. That's what they want, but it doesn't
always happen. Instead, they give the ranking to the page with the
highest score based on their signals.

So, to get the highest ranking, you need to give the search engines the
signals they're after. You don't need to game the system to do this, but
you do need to work. The best way to do it is to become the expert for
your industry or your niche in the industry. You do that by being active
everywhere that's related to your keyword terms on the internet.

Here are a few ideas:

- Write lots of content on your website related to your keywords
- Write articles
- Write guest post on blogs
- Comment on Blogs
- Get listed in every industry directory and portal
- Be active in social media
- Create videos and post them to YouTube and other sites

These are just a few ideas. They are all legitimate and will add to your
authority. Each of these actions will add links back to your site and
your pages. After people see you all over the web, you will get mentions
on other blogs and sites and more links will come naturally. This is
whitehat SEO.

This is what the search engines want. They want to see your site and
your pages get links naturally over time. They are very suspicious of
new sites or new pages that get thousands of links from unrelated sites.

The Future of Search

The search engines will continue to refine their systems, their
algorithms and their programs to eliminate spam and blackhat techniques.
People will always try to game the system and they may have short-term
success. But, in the long run, legitimate signals from legitimate
sources will be successful. If you are in business for the long-term,
build you web presence and authority over time.

TweetDeck is now available in the Android Market.
Here's an overview of the main features of the app, presented by Richard Barley (@richardbarley), TweetDeck Community Manager

Why Use Social Media Marketing?

When sites like Facebook and Twitter arrived on the scene a few years ago, they were viewed solely as social networking tools - 21st century techno-vehicles for keeping in touch with friends and communicating quickly and easily at no cost.
However, it soon became apparent to savvy, forward-thinking businesses that these sites could be utilized as promotional tools for their products and services. And with this, social media marketing was born.
However, it soon became apparent to savvy, forward-thinking businesses that these sites could be utilized as promotional tools for their products and services. And with this, social media marketing was born.

As a result of this realization, the manner in which businesses communicate and interact with their customers has been completely transformed. And if you're not following suit, your business is missing out on a huge amount of potential custom.
So if you have an online business (or an offline one for that matter), it's absolutely crucial that you sign up for both a Facebook and Twitter account at the very least. These are the most widely used social media sites available, and therefore the most powerful resources.

How to send free sms worlwide

The number one free sms service all over the world
But keep you gadget hunger in control because this baby does not have a WiFi or 3G capable, so you’re stuck on your slow EDGE network and always have to pay for data stream even though there’s an available WiFi spot just around the corner.
Comes with the 3-inch display (240×400 pixels resolution) web browse capable, comes in black, Vandyke brown, Anodizing silver and Elegant gold colors, FM tuner, 8GB storage via microSD card and Bluetooth. Price wise, it’s MSRP might be easy on your pocket but literally it’s because of its very slim 11mm (sexy?) figure.
The HTC EVO 4G according to Sprint it is 10x faster than 3G and it speed is comparable to a basic DSL and wired internet connection. Facebook brings together many millions of people who all connect, share information, photos,
events and pretty much everything about their lives, whether they mean to or not.

In the same way you can connect to friends, you can also use Facebook as a great way
to promote your business or website because the power that Facebook can offer you
in terms of exposure is almost second to none when it comes to the potential that this
site can offer to you.
While reading Harry McCracken's rather insightful article on Google Instant in PCWorld, I was reminded once again, how narrowly focused my own thinking has become in regards to Google. I keep forgetting, not everyone is into SEO or Internet Marketing (lucky dogs), and that Google search has a function outside of SEO.
I keep forgetting that the general public actually uses Google for online search, there are millions of web users out there who have been using Google Instant to find out the weather, the latest Lady Gaga outfit or which flat-screen HDTV to buy? Of course, I know this to be the real function of Google, but if you're a full-time search engine marketer, your perspective is solidly aligned to all the SEO elements - keyword rankings, link building and content placement in the most dominant search engine in the world.
Basically, you will be more concerned with how Google Instant will impact those top keyword rankings, your click through rates and most importantly, what effect will it have on your conversion rates and sales? More specifically, how does this instant search impact the display of your listings in Google and what are the long-term ramifications this instant "real time" display will have on your online marketing?

There are even some so-called experts which say Google Instant will be the end of SEO. This is a rather foolish notion since the underlying structure of using optimized strategies to obtain top rankings in Google or any other search engine for that matter, has not changed. We still have the emphasis on quality content, high quality backlinks and on-page ranking factors.

In the background nothing has changed, in the foreground everything has changed. Well, somewhat.
Google Instant is a game changer for online marketers simply because it changes "How" your listings are displayed. Not only is the faster speed a factor but Google is guessing or rather dictating what the web surfer is searching for so Google's influence on what's displayed has increased 10-fold. They are displaying results not only based on rankings BUT on what their data tells them you're looking for? How big a role this other compiled data and web users' histories play in these suggestions only Google knows, but to the online marketer all this is somewhat worrisome.

Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google has been quoted as saying, "Never underestimate the power of fast. Quick, quick, quick - we want to help you right now... we can understand things like what you really meant."

Only time will tell what effect this "jumping the gun" or "making up your mind for you" will have on Internet marketing. The long-lasting effect of Google imposing its results on the web searcher will no doubt have some strong impacts on web marketing. Getting those first suggestions when a surfer types in just one or two letters... will become the real money-makers in terms of online traffic and sales.

Those companies and products which pop-up first will gain in market share and importance, but hasn't this always been the case with getting those first place keyword rankings in Google? Yes, but now Google is giving the searcher options and planting seeds/suggestions, which Google has done in the past but not at this speed and to this extent. The implications for online marketing could be enormous, assuming of course, web surfers actually use this function because Google does give users the option of turning off Instant search. In our hurried fast-paced world, one would reason, web searchers would not turn off this function, although if your Internet connection is too slow, Google will automatically turn off Instant search for you.

I originally taught myself HTML 4.0 a few years ago, but I found it difficult to make the transition to using xHTML with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). However, due to being involved with a small website I was forced to make sense of it. In this article I will run through the practical implications of switching between the two, in other words what you will need to do to make your HTML work with stylesheets.

I’m not going to go over the history of xHTML here, but you should take note that there are many ‘tags’ that have been deprecated and should be avoided in when using xHTML.

The first important difference in xHTML comes in the form of its syntax. The language is case sensitive, so it is all written in lowercase, no more use of caps! Secondly, ‘tags’, or elements to be technical, are now classified into two types: those that 'contain' data, and those that are 'empty'. An example of the former might be a paragraph element, which has a closing tag. That which is in between these two tags is the 'contained data'. For instance, a sentence is understood to be data. An example of an empty tag could be a line break, and is written slightly differently than in HTML 4.0, instead of having a forward-slash just after the opening bracket the forward-slash must be written just before the closing bracket and must be preceded by a space. Other 'empty' types include the image element and the horizontal rule element .
Thursday, Aug 14, 2008

A very effective way to draw attention to your site is link baiting. This means writing content that others find interesting, exciting or useful and will link to from their own sites. If you succeed in doing this you will both get traffic directly from the links and if enough people link to you will also manage to rank high in search engines such as Google on things that relate to the content of your site. By building links the awareness of you website is bound to increase.

The title is the key
So how to you create good link baits? Well, the key is a catch title. To draw attention to your text piece you want it to be rated high at social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Delicious and Reddit. This rating is based on the votes cast by the users at these sites. Many of them will only see your title in a list when they vote at it, which makes the title far more important than the rest of the text.

Once you have decided on a catchy title it is really important that the text delivers the things that the title promises. There is nothing more irritating than reading a text to discover that it doesn't contain what you expected. Only give promises you can deliver in the title.

Content is still king
Once you have a good title you should write a text that is focused and to the point on the subject. You have to deliver what you have promised in the title. This is very important. People don't read texts in online in the same way as they read a book or a magazine. Online, people skim texts and want to find what they look for fast. Use short paragraphs and sub-headers in order to make it easy for the visitor to get a grasp of the text.
By: Gareth Owen

Search engine optimization is the vital element of web business world. It refers to managing a website in a fashion that it attracts satisfactory web traffic. Perhaps that is the reason why every web businessperson endeavors to achieve optimization. They hire SEO professionals, creative writers, people to maintain websites, and many others to get their website on the top.

Why You Need SEO?

Search engine optimization is one of the advertising strategies. It is about adding value to your site and making the end user realize that this particular site is what he or she needs. Many think that this is a strategy to alter search results. However, this is actually about making sure that your website delivers what it claims and what the customer is looking for.

SEO professionals working according to this principle can do justice to your business. And once your website is optimized, you can start seeing the results yourself. You will start dealing with more competitive keywords.

Search engine optimization is a potent marketing tool. However, you need to harness its power in the right manner to get the desired benefits. An optimized website can easily convert your business into a money-spinning venture. This happens through a good exposure of your site and your business.

When I network with small business owners and online marketers, I often find myself asking them if they've launched their blog yet. Adding a blog has so many important benefits and it's no wonder that huge corporations and megastores are also getting into blogging. Especially for the micropreneur however, blogs have several distinct advantages. Here are a few.

1. A blog is search engine food! Google and the other big search engines love content and a blog can help you get free search engine traffic. Recently search engines are giving more weight to blogs because they want to offer the freshest, most relevant content to internet searchers.

2. Blogs create community. Because they are interactive, a blog draws people back to your site again and again. Your visitors will read your post then leave their comments, read comments left by others, and come back to see how the conversation is flowing. Blogs are much easier to manage than message forums too. With RSS (Real Simple Syndication), people can subscribe to your blog feed and be notified automatically when you update your blog.

3. Blogging puts you in control of your site. Posting to your blog is as easy as typing an email or a word document. Why pay a designer to add a page to your website when you can update your site whenever you like, easy as pie? You can blog as often or as rarely as you like to serve your particular needs.

4. Blogs help you grow your bottom line. There are many ways you can add additional monetization streams to your blog so you can make more money in your business without working harder.

5. Your customers love blogs. They can ask you questions, read info about your products and services, and share their opinions. A blog has a more friendly feel than a website.

Dear Webmaster:

If you have a website and are interested in increasing your revenues by up to 1000% in the next 24 hours, then this is the most important letter you will ever read...

There are two conditions that must be met in order for you to benefit from the ad block generator. First you must have a website!

If you have a website and are generating revenue with adsense or are not monetizing your site in any way then you definitely qualify.
Finally a way to increase my site revenues...

Why You Need To Learn Internet Copywriting

Internet copywriting can be intimidating, especially for business owners who do not consider
themselves to be “writers”. However, learning copywriting and applying it to your business website can and will increase your profit-earning potential.

We have all heard the old adage, “It’s not what you say, but how you say it.” An effectively written message can be instrumental in helping your business succeed. Why? In order for people to get to know your product, understand your service, and come to trust what you are telling them, you must communicate in a way that is clear, concise and sets your business apart.

The key to success is to apply your knowledge to the art of website copywriting. A well-
written website will generate revenue by attracting new customers with an exciting and enticing
message, maintaining current customers with a trustworthy and believable tone, and setting
your business apart from the competition.

However, fret not. Even though you may think that you're only good in failing or that you have only wasted your time and effort for nothing, there are still so many things left for you to do.
It's useful because
you can find out what people are actually willing
to pay money for, rather than waste all that time
creating a product and then finding out no one
wants it.

Simple ideas are often the best, and this is
definitely the case here. Go watch now -

http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/go.php?offer=powerstorm&pid=3&u=http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/1085/blue-sky/

To your success,

Johnny

PS.
