Google Adwords is the most sophisticated and popular pay-per-click advertising system on the internet. Unlike regular search engine listings, which are listed for free according to “relevance,” as defined by the particular search engine involved, Adwords are small text ads which usually appear to the right of the unpaid listings. Advertisers bid on specific “keywords”, which determines where the ad is displayed. However, unlike other search engines, where placement is completely determined by the amount of the bid, Google uses a complex calculation which also takes into the account the popularity of the ad as well. Thus, an ad which gets clicked on a lot can end up in a better position than one with a higher bid. That’s how Google rewards the ad for relevancy, so it pays to create an ad that will invite clicks.

Advertising with Adwords has many advantages. First, the ad is displayed immediately, as opposed to waiting for sites to show up in regular listings, which can take months. Second, they can be highly targeted, meaning you can make sure you’re only paying for clicks by customers who are sincerely interested. Third, Adwords allows you to run several ad campaigns simultaneously, so you can test the results and experiment on the fly to constantly improve the quality of the ads. You can even track the “conversion rate,” or the actual number of sales generated by a given ad. This is extremely precise marketing.

The first step is to come up with the best possible list of keywords. This is extremely important, because if you bid on the same ones everyone else is bidding on, you will end up with very expensive clicks. The ad itself consists of four lines: a title of no more than 25 characters, a description with two lines of up to 35 characters each, and a line for your url, also limited to 35 characters. The title is what really attracts attention. It should include the keyword you’re targeting, and should be as striking as possible so as to stand out from the crowd. If it’s truly attention-getting, it could end up getting more clicks than other, duller ads higher up on the page. Some suggest that it should be in all caps, and include a price if possible.

The description should include the major selling point of your product, and also include enough information to discourage clicks by unqualified customers. Make sure they know what you’re selling and what to expect, as well as what sets you apart from the competition.

Finally, make sure the URL listed takes them to the most relevant page in your site for what they’re looking for. Make sure the link is up to date and functioning correctly.

Regardless if you have a product, a service, a hobby website or just want to share pictures of your wedding, you have to advertise somehow to get the traffic to your site or blog.

But not all traffic is equal. There are services that can help you drive tons and tons of traffic to your site and it won’t do you any good at all because it’s not targeted traffic.

Take for example all of the many different ’surf for traffic’ or ‘traffic clicking’ programs that are out there. If you have a website that is about your hobby, say model airplanes, then what good is this traffic really going to do you? Who’s using these services?

What is your website about? Do you just have a page with a lot of links and not much else?

To find some of these, just head over to your favorite search engine and you will definitely find plenty to choose from.

And while you are visiting the search engine, why not run a search for any bulletin boards and forums that are already out there for your chosen topic? You could visit those and interact with the visitors there and since many allow you to post a signature or a profile, you could add a little line about your own site with a link (just check the rules of the forum first so you don’t violate any of them).

4. Start a blog.

Blogs are very popular and search engines love them because they provide constantly new and fresh content. Your blog would be a great place to talk about what you are up to that day.
So if you spent some time today buying new parts for your plane you could write about where you found them, how much they cost you, why you chose those parts, anything really goes.

The really great part about this is that you can point links from your blog back to your website, so when the search engine stops by to grab and index your latest content, it will also stop by your website and you will start seeing very targeted traffic heading your way.

5. Write articles.

Writing articles isn’t hard and can be a great source of fresh, new traffic to your website. There are a lot of ezines on any topic out there and there are also a lot of directories where you can share your article.

Basically, what you do is write an article and then add a small resource box that links back to your website (just like a signature) and then let other ezine publishers know that you are allowing them to print your article in their ezine. And many publishers go to the article directories to find new content for their newsletter and even their websites. And since there are websites and ezine newsletters on any imaginable topic out there, you can’t lose. Write an article every couple of days and post it in the directories (even one a week or every two weeks will start getting you traffic). Very soon you will find new traffic coming from search engines, newsletters and websites.

than you would think. You will be battling distractions and a lack
of structure. You will also be constantly battling time, which
seems to go three times faster when you work from home.

So, here are some Dos and Don’ts to help you if and when you are
working from home.

Do: Buy a laptop.

If you don’t already have a laptop, get one. It’s a tax write-off
and the freedom it will give you for when and where you can work is
a must.

Don’t: Build a home office unless you can really afford it.

If you have the extra cash to build a home office then go for it.
But don’t borrow any money to do it. While a home office is great
and may be a goal of yours, don’t borrow money to get it done.
You’ll just be adding debt at a time when you need to be building
your income.

Instead just set up your office in a spare bedroom, or find any
space in your house where it’s semi-private and livable including
the basement or your garage. A couple hundred bucks can dress-up
either of those places.

Do: Set a Schedule

This is especially important if you have a family at home or
anything else that might distract you.

Have a discussion with anyone else who lives with you and let them
know when you scheduled to work. Get them to agree that they won’t
disturb you while you are working. Post your hours of work on the
refrigerator or in another area where everyone will see it.

Be sure to stick to your schedule just the same as you would if you
had a boss to answer to.

Don’t: Watch television

This is tempting to do – Put your laptop on your legs, settle into
your recliner, and flip on the television. The television will
distract you and make any project you’re working on take much
longer than it should.

While you are working, avoid the television at all costs.

Do: Leave the house to work.

If you have too many distractions, get out of the house and work at
the local or at a café. All you need is a couple bucks for coffee
and Wifi. That’s it.

Also, though the idea of working from home is great, there might be
times when you feel like you are homebound and you just need to get
out.

So whenever you get the opportunity, change your venue. It will
keep things fresh and make you happier.

Don’t: Work in the middle of chaos.

It’s a nice idea to work in the same room where your kids are
playing or where your family/friends are hanging out. But it just
won’t work, mainly because you won’t work.

Be sure to always separate yourself from everyone else in the
house. If you can’t do that then leave the house.

So there are three very important Dos and Don’ts for you to follow.
Follow these and you are well on your way to achieving success
while you work from home.

6 Ways To Improve Your Adsense Profits

Lots of webmasters try to monetize their websites using Adsense. Many of them struggle hard to earn some decent money a day. On the other hand some of the “geniuses” amongst them enjoy an income of hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads. They are different and they think out of the box. Here are 5 of their proven ways on how to increase your Adsense earnings.

1. Focus on one Adsense ad format. The the Large Rectangle (336X280) is a format that worked well for the majority . This type of ad has the tendency to result in higher click-through rates (CTR). Why select this format? Basically because these ads look like usual web links, and people click them, because they’re being used to click on links. They may or may not be aware of the fact that they are clicking on your Adsense but they DO click and that will be for your advantage.
2. Make a custom palette for your ads. Select a color that will go well with the backgroundcolor of your site. If it’s a white background, test white as the color of your ad background and border. The idea behind modeling the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages.
3. Do not hide your ads. Remove any Adsense code from the bottom of your pages and put them at the top. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.
4. Link to relevant pages. If you think some pages are better off than the others, put your ads there and maintain and manage these pages.
5. Surround your ads with as many of your main page keywords, using as much H1, bold and italic tags as possible. Thus, the Adsense system will be able to better recognize the important keywords and insert relevant ads.
6. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website. An even better solution for this is to use PHP as the extension of your webpages and use an ‘include’ statement to include your ad textfile.

These few tips have worked well for lots of webmasters. It is important to realize though, that ads are clicked on because they fit the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic using specific keywords or keyphrases, should be your primary purpose because the ads displayed will be especially targeted on a topic that persons want to view already.

An opt-in list can be quite crucial to any site or internet based company. Even for a small venture such as a niche profit site an opt-in list can make a world of difference and also add some extra income for your pocket. Rarely would you see an e-commerce site, big or small, that is without an opt-in list.

An opt-in list allows for a company to market their wares and site via an e-mail. With an opt-in list, a site and a subscriber consents to sending and receiving a newsletter from your company. Through this, you can keep your subscribers abreast of what is currently available in your site as well as whatever is coming out.

And because there is mutual consent between the two parties, any mail sent to the list is not considered as spam mail. There is a great number of successfully read promotional materials such as catalogs, newsletters and such that are sent because the subscribers themselves have signed up for them, meaning, they do want to be sent those items.

Building a list is crucial, only a small percentage actually subscribes for an opt-in list. Many people find promotional mails annoying but of you provide a good newsletter or promotional material, you will see your list build up and grow. You can also achieve this by having good content on your site. If people like what they see and read on your site, then they surely would want more. Newsletters would be a way to attract them back to your site. A little teaser or appetizer if you will.

But other than marketing your wares and your services, an opt-in list can also be used to earn extra profit. Not all lists can be used though. It would be good to first build a successful list with a huge number of subscribers. The more subscribers you have, the more money you can get. Here are seven ways to make money using nothing more than your list.

1) Place advertisements. There are many corporations who will be willing to pay to put their banners

and ads on a list with many subscribers. Selling or renting out lists is not a good idea so rather than doing that, many companies would just rather place ads with lists that have a huge subscriber base. Your newsletter could be placed with many ads and each one spells money.

2) Have affiliations with other companies that have at least a semblance or relation to what your site is about. Here other companies will provide links and brief descriptions of what they offer, products and services. With every click made on the link that directs or leads a subscriber from your list to their site, the company will pay you. This P4P or pay for performance.

3) Make deals with other companies by asking for a small percentage of sales done through your list. With every sale done by customers that have come from your list and have gone there because of your newsletter, the other company will pay you a small percentage of your sales. The more people who buys from them, the more earnings you get.

4) You may also get products from other sites on a consignment basis and sell them to your list via your newsletter. Place descriptions, articles and photos of the product in your newsletter. There will be those who will buy from you and when that happens, you can order the product from the other site and sell it to your buyer.

5) Sell e-books or a compilation of your articles on your list. Manuals and how-to articles are in great demand. Many people will be willing to shell out money to gain knowledge about a certain topic and subject. With your existing list trusting your expertise in that area, an e-book could be offered and sold or used as an incentive.

6) Create a network out of your list. Get people to invite more people to view your site and subscribe to your list. The larger your list is, the more people will be able to click on your links and affiliate links as well as make your advertisement rates higher.

7) Subscribers are willing to pay for information if they know that it can be trusted and relied upon. Use your list to get more and more people to subscribe to you as well as browse your site. Lastly, you can use your list to earn money by making them your partners. Your list will be the bloodline of your growth and increase.

Google Adsense is a fast and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant and text-based Google ads on their website’s content pages and earn money in the process. The ads displayed are related to what your users are looking for on your site. This is the main reason why you both can monetize and enhance your content pages using Adsense.

How much you will be earning will depend on how much the advertisers are willing to pay. It will depend also on the keywords required. Let the market know you're out there

You may be wondering....Ok, now I have a home business but I have no idea how to go about advertising it. Well, there are a lot of different ways to advertise some are free and others will cost you money. Many times the free advertising methods can work but may take more of your time. Then again, there are some advertising programs that you could pay money for and never see any real results.

It can be very confusing and frustrating and some times the new home business owner will get overwhelmed and just quit saying that a home business does not work. It's not that a home business does not work it is just that you do have to work at it. Many times you will see someone advertising a great new home business that you can make all sorts of money and you don not have to work. That is not true. You MUST work at it. If you do then you will start to see results. Keep at it and you will be successful.

Okay, here are some free advertising methods:

Manual traffic surf site

A manual traffic surf site allows you to promote your business online in exchange for surfing other websites. These sites can take some time but is well worth the effort. You can join for free and if you invest the time to click they CAN work

Safe-lists

Safe-lists are a great tool for generating awareness and promoting your business. To increase results without having to join a lot of safe-lists your best bet is to join some of the top lists that are credit based. Members must open your email to click to get credit in order to send their email ad. Downfall: it takes time to click and build up your credits to be able to send often. Positive note: usually there is no cost involved. Good for those with more time than money.

Classified ad sites

These can work and are usually free to post. Stick with top sites like Craigslist. Use (at) instead of @ and (dot)com instead of .com when placing your email so that spambots cannot harvest your email address resulting in a flood of emails that are spam instead of actual interested people

All of the above advertising methods will usually have an upgrading option that you will have to pay for. These can get you better results faster but the cost can add up. Use common sense and track your ads. If you are not seeing results don't keep throwing good money after bad.

While doing some basic research online, I was surprised to find so few articles written about Clickbank. As one of the largest affiliate networks, Internet marketers have been making money with Clickbank for as long as I can remember. There are a number of other providers of affiliate programs such as commission junction, and paydotcom. These programs have a lot in common.

The concept of an affiliate program is rather simple. These programs bring together manufacturers or providers of informational products with website owners, marketers, and vendors who wish to resell their products.

There are a number of reasons why someone would want to resell a third party product or service. The real motivator is money but there are additional benefits as well. When serving as an affiliate and selling someone else’s product:

1. You don’t have to take inventory. As an affiliate, you don’t have to worry about buying the third party product, storing it, and then shipping it when you get a sale. Rather, you simply promote the product and receive a commission when someone that you refer buys from the manufacturer or originator of the product itself.

2. You don’t have to create promotional material. In today’s competitive affiliate marketplace, most product creators proactively create all the promotional material you need to sell their product. Banners, buttons, emails, and pitch pages are readily available and can be easily implemented on your website or blog.

3. You don’t have to invest any money. Getting started as an affiliate doesn’t require any cost. You simply sign up through an affiliate network and receive a publisher ID. Getting Started

When I first began in Internet marketing, there wasn’t a lot of variety in the area of third party affiliate products to sell on my websites. As a result, I had to do online research, speak directly with vendors and often set up complicated tracking schemes in an effort to accurately track and record all sales being made. Since then, a lot has changed.

With the advent of affiliate networks, finding the right products to promote via your website or blog and getting up and running is very simple. To begin, visit one of the affiliate networks mentioned at the beginning of this article and sign up for a free account. Next, visit the market place and search for products related to your website’s niche. Once you’ve identified a product that is relevant, create a tracking link and place it on your website along with any assets (banners, buttons, etc.) that can be used to promote the product or service.

The key is to remember that each link or piece of creative that you place on your site needs to have your tracking link imbedded. This is very easy to do and is often a matter of cut and paste depending on which affiliate network you’re using.

Each affiliate network offers support as well. Whether through live support, email, or some type of forum, you can get you most common questions answered quickly.

Otherwise known as the idea train, an entrepreneurs' way if thinking is her biggest strength and, if not carefully managed, could be her biggest curse.

I probably have a new idea every day. And at the time I have it, I usually get so excited that I think it's the next best thing. In mind, at that time, I have just made Steve Jobs look like an amateur.

Ok Dave - whatever...

But, at the same time, some of my ideas are pretty good. I wouldn't have a successful business if they weren't. And of course, some of my ideas are....let's say, put on hold.

If I actually acted on all my ideas, my company would have imploded a long time ago. One can stretch a company too thin where it begins to lose focus. I started in this direction a few years ago. A member of my team made a comment to me that was very enlightening. She said, "I feel as though lately we are growing like a shrub instead of a tree."

It was a very powerful statement and made me think about pruning the shrub so we can grow like a tree again. And we have.

Now when I have ideas, I present them to my managers first to flesh them out. This can be a frustrating experience because entrepreneurs and managers think differently, thank God. If he's smart, the entrepreneur has surrounded himself with detailed managers who can say no to him when appropriate. Most entrepreneurs don't like their ideas to be grilled and possibly put on hold or nixed for the benefit of the company. So, he will give his managers the right to set him straight if the idea is not the best for the company at that time; or needs to be altered/killed.

Of course, I can do whatever I want within my own company. But in my mind, it's not my own company. If I don't have the buy in from management and the rest of the team the idea will never take shape.

So here is my 10 step plan on how to entrepreneurs can deal with their ideas:

1) Marry well. Your spouse should be the first one to tell you if the idea has merit or if you're smoking something. You can save your team a lot of time if your spouse can nix the idea first. My wife has a special talent to see through my special"forest" and if I am in "DaveLand" with one of my ideas, she'll let me know. "DaveLand" is actually a great place! The sky is red and there is fun everywhere (and great food), but it's not for everybody...

2) Hire well. It's obvious, but some ego maniacs surround themselves with minion-like people. I have empowered my team to challenge me and let me know when I am getting off course. If I did not do this years ago, my idea train could have derailed the company.

3) Develop a process to discuss ideas with your management team. Form a R&D committee or just have a discussion at your weekly manager meeting

4) Explain the opportunity or problem to solve and see what they come up with first.

5) Present your thoughts at a very high level. Don't get tactical yet. Just the 50,000 foot view.

6) Be calm. Don't try to "sell" your idea. Stick to discussing the opportunity in a calm, rational way and let the conversation flow. If your managers feel they are being sold an idea, their BS meter may go off. This could really change the direction of the discussion.

7) Ask them to pitch the idea back to you. Then ask, "What does it look like when we, as a company, execute this idea really well and so that it doesn't strain the company?"

8) On a white board, brainstorm all the reasons why you shouldn't move forward with the idea. Then, list all the reason why it's a good idea.

9) Listen half as much as you talk.

10) Be ready to walk away from the idea, or alter it.

It seems like a lot to go though, I know. Many entrepreneurs might be reading this and saying, "Bull! The reason I started a business is to do whatever I want, whenever I want!" That may work if you are a one man show. But if you have people working for you, you'd be smart to rely on their intelligence to guide you. Hopefully, that's a big reason why you hired them.

Another big reason to go through this process is the actual execution of the idea. Traditionally, entrepreneurs are builders of ideas but not always great at seeing them through. You'll need your team to embrace the idea if you expect them to execute it well.

Bottom line; make sure you allow really great passengers on your idea train who can help you drive.

Every good SEO program begins with keyword development and monitoring.

Keeping track of where your website ranks on Google for important keywords and keyword phrases can be a full time job. Although many tools exist for monitoring search engine position, properly evaluating SEO performance requires a disciplined approach.

There are a variety of ways to measure search engine rankings for your website. Popular website tools like SEO Elite and Web CEO include search engine ranking tools that can track where your site ranks for identified keywords. But what if you don’t own SEO software?

To evaluate search engine rankings, you simply need a means of measuring rankings on a regular basis. Follow these simple guidelines:

Create and maintain a spreadsheet of your rankings. Having a document that you continually update can help you see weekly changes as well as trends over time. Be sure to keep it updated at least once a week so that you are always aware of how you rank for keywords and keyword phrases you are watching.

You can choose your keyword list based on the keyword phrases you’ve selected as important, those your competitors rank well for, or individual phrases identified by SEO software. If you want to get a jump start, you can identify which keyword phrases your site is ranked for in the top 20 on Google using SEOdigger.com. Record changes in search engine result placements simply by entering each keyword term in to Google or using SEO software. You can also find free tools online to report your rankings like CleverStat or GoogleRankings.com.

Continue to make changes, build links, and record your results. This step will never be completed but rather is an ongoing process. You should strive to become number one on all your SERPs and get so far ahead that none of your competitors will be able to compete. This requires constant and never ending consideration to building links and creating more and more reasons for other sites to link to you.

Consider reciprocal linking, link acquisition, as well as adding free tools to your website, valuable content, and helpful downloads. Access to these tools is ideal if you want to attract links to your website. Once you’ve added these valuable tools, make sure to let others know that they exist. Consider a free press release, email campaign or promotion.

Expand your keyword list. As you improve your overall rankings on major search engines, consider adding other keywords phrases that may be relevant to your website, products or services. Focusing on an expanded keyword list can result in more traffic and broader appeal.

Monitoring and managing your search engine rankings, especially on Google is necessary if you wish to increase the organic traffic to your website. This begins with basic monitoring and evaluation of your rankings on key search engines. Once you’ve developed your spreadsheet, update your rankings each week with free tools or SEO software.

Continue to focus on your rankings and developing inbound links through free tools and resources on your site as well as proactive link requests. Over time, as you improve your rakings for key terms and phrases, expand your list. Improving your rankings is a never ending process, but an important one. Stay the course and you’ll experience the results you’re looking for.

Is Google Adsense Money real? Yes it is of course! My confession, I make Adsense Money too! Before you ask…No, I am not going to show my cheques here… only my close friends and family knows.
There are many ways to make money with Google Adsense. You only have to know HOW? And what you want to do. Adsense is a pay per click program by Google where publishers sign up an account with google adsense, get a script to post it on the website where Google will automatically serve Google Ads to your website. First you must apply your Google Adsense Account.
Some businesses treat it as a side income to their business where, rather than finding advertisers to post advertisement on their websites, they receive automated ads from Google through the adsense program.

It is a convenient way for both publisher and advertiser. At first, I was reluctant to use adsense and was not very proud of it feeling that I am making money out of clicks from my visitors. But hey! It is really a win-win situation here. Google serve related ads on my site and if you are interested to find out what the advertisers are advertising, you click on the ads and I receive some income. I mean everyone in the real world is doing similar things - you provide content and advertisers willingly advertise on your sites just like Newspapers and all the other medias offline. So how do you make money with Google Adsense?

1. The Slow and Steady Way

You write and provide good content on your site or you blog on your interest. You get visitors, they click on interesting ads, you get paid! This is a very slow but steady way, it does take awhile before really make money out of google adsense.

2. The Lazy Way

If you hate to write and want a faster lazy way, then you may either choose to buy content to post to your blog or websites (yes you can buy content with private label rights and even adsense ready website templates) or purchase ready made sites built with adsense in the websites. This can be faster as all you need is to upload them to your server and you are now armed with complete websites all with adsense built in the right places. However, you must know how to choose quality sites as there are many low quality sites about online which may not have good content, design or built. that has high-paying Adsense ads on it. People click on your ads and you make money. There were issues about this model about how Google is banning it etc. However, this has now been treated as a business model where basically you means you buy cheap traffic to your website to get clicks from these traffic. 5. The Black Hat Way?

Mmmm. This is really advance strategies which is discussed in detail in Project Black Mask where they show you how to build adsense sites in super speed with tools they use, how to search for keywords and how to drive traffic to your sites with quality one-way links. Some say is Black Hat, but we can learn many things that is “grey hat” that we can really apply to our own model.
