U Mobile expands reach in Klang Valley with 12th new outlet at PIKOM ICT Mall, CapSquare

Kuala Lumpur, 17 February 2012 – It was a noteworthy moment cherished by U Mobile Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s most dynamic and innovative telco, as the company officially opened its 12th store at the start of year 2012 at PIKOM ICT Mall, CapSquare Kuala Lumpur.

The opening is part of U Mobile’s continuous effort to expand its reach within Klang Valley as it widens its presence and distribution channels within Malaysia. It is also in line with U Mobile’s three-pronged strategy for 2012, which is rolling out network infrastructures, enhancing brand presence within the market and broadening distribution channels. The new store will also provide customers greater accessibility to U Mobile’s products and services.

Services available at the store include providing prepaid starter packs and top-up vouchers, postpaid packages, broadband registrations, payment transactions, and customer service support by friendly U Mobile staff.

Speaking at the opening, Suresh Reddy, U Mobile’s Chief Commercial Officer said, “As we grow to be the leader in data services, our focus remains in increasing our network coverage and striving to increase our presence in key locations to bring us closer to our consumers. The new store opening is in-line with that philosophy.” Suresh was present at the ceremony to officiate the opening of the new outlet.

In celebration of the new outlet opening, customers were treated with a lion dance performance to solemnize the opening and a string of enticing promotions and activities. Lucky customers had the chance to win brand new Samsung GALAXY Tab, Nokia E5 and Nokia 7230 in a lucky draw. U Mobile also threw a special promotion by offering phone bundling at RM 0 and waived upfront payments for Samsung GALAXY Mini and Nokia X3-02.

Cut the Rope Now Free for Everyone on PCs with IE9

Wildly addictive game previously only available on smartphones is now more fun than ever on PCs showcasing the advanced HTML5 capabilities of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 browser

Kuala Lumpur, 8 February 2012 – Cut the Rope, a popular wildly addictive – and cute – puzzle game previously only available on smartphones, is now more fun than ever on PCs. The game, playable directly from the web at www.cuttherope.ie, showcases the advanced and powerful HTML5 capabilities of Microsoft’s latest and most powerful web browser, Internet Explorer 9 (IE9).

ZeptoLab, the creators of Cut the Rope, collaborated with technology specialists at Pixel Lab and with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Team, to deliver the game to online audiences with HTML5 technology and JavaScript. The developers discussed their technical approach to this project, and the challenges that they faced, in a short blog post including a video interview, which can be found at www.cuttherope.ie/dev/.

Eighteen (18) levels of the game are playable with most modern web browsers but seven (7) bonus levels are available exclusively to users who pin the game to their Windows taskbar with IE9.

Gamers that pin Cut the Rope to their Windows 7 taskbar, will find that IE9 takes on the look and feel of the game and unlocks unique levels not found in any previous versions of Cut the Rope. For further improvements, with the hardware acceleration enabled in IE9 and Windows 7, the game looks and feels just as rich and immersive as developers intended the game to be. ESPN STAR Sports played hosts to more than 1,500 roaring fans at Red Carpet Avenue – Encorp Strand

Kuala Lumpur – 14 February 2012 – Themed as ‘It’s Just like Being There’, ESPN Grandstand delivered another spectacular live outdoor viewing experience to more than 1,500 passionate football fans at Red Carpet Avenue – Encorp Strand, who watched Manchester United narrowly beat Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford.
Organised by ESPN STAR Sports, the event saw zealous supporters from both sides decked out in their club’s colours building up an atmosphere with fans singing club anthems in full voice and enjoying the electrifying atmosphere. Hosted by STAR Sports’ Maxis Football Extra presenters, Patricia Knudsen and Jason Desmond (JD), fans who came earlier were entertained with plenty of lively activities and stage games before kick-off and during half-time.

Many excited fans came early to ensure the best seats for the highly anticipated live outdoor viewing party, with many coming hours before the kick-off.
