Your Latest Look At Sahara, Erm, SLS

The rapid pace of changes at the Sahara-slash-SLS Las Vegas seems to have slowed, from the viewpoint of a looky loo, at least. From a construction worker, we can't say.
VegasChatter fan, whom we should just dub our (un)official photographer at this point, Greg C. has captured a new set of images of the changes underway. If you've been following his photo essays (see here, here and here) the progression is now subtle. For others, who remember the aging hotel from its glory days, the changes will be more obvious.

Preparing For A Descent Into The Madness Of Electric Daisy Carnival

You won't find us at the club so much anymore, nor tweeting each other about the DJ we can't wait to see. However, that doesn't mean we don't like to get down at all, anymore. Last year, Richard Lane ventured to Electric Daisy Carnival and noted some must-read survival strategies for this year, including the all important, put your hands up. This year, he's passed the torch to our Joe Fortenbaugh, who's normally found on the golf course or ringside at the big fight. Perhaps you've heard this week's excitable news about a proposed 650-foot-tall roller coaster called the Polercoaster. It might be coming to the Tropicana. Maybe the end of this year. Maybe next. It's great news for those who think the Linq's High Roller too sedate.
Our opinion? If it's a venture connected to the Tropicana, the current kings of fail, it'll never happen. Locally, there's a major stink of death attached to the Trop and we look forward to hearing the plans of the eventual new owners. Removing all hint of the Bagatelle disaster would create the perfect location for the coaster.

There's something about the sight of the Strip that's simply magical, the glitter and glam of the bright lights as you come into town and the sounds of the slots as you enter the casino. This is especially true if you've had four drinks on the plane or in the passenger seat.
Something that sets Vegas apart is that, regardless of what time you arrive, your options are all pretty much wide open, at least in comparison to many other destinations. You can find an open casino, bar, or restaurant at any time of day. And, in
