So two years ago i attended Jack Daniels Global Tour and this year I received 10 free tickets to Jack Daniels and The JD Set presents Good Charlotte at the Coliseum at Hard Rock Hotel Sentosa Singapore. I brought my classmates and friends from work.
During the opening act by a band from the Phillipines.
Joel Madden!! It was crazy especially when they started off with the Anthem.

For Yang's birthday, i brought him to the Rose Veranda at Shangri-La hotel.

We had high-tea there and its known for its 100+ types of tea from all over the world served there.
You can see the salmon on my plate :D The food was very yummy and typing this I feel hungry again.
Birthday boy.
Sushi! I kept attacking this even though high tea actually includes cakes and desserts.
Trying some pasta salad and shrimp.
Okay, nobody told me that if you're not a tea connosieure you should stay away from fancy named teas. If you're reading my blog now thinking of going there, please choose teas that you actually heard before (eg. Oolong Tea, Earl Grey).

I chose something called Caramel somethingsomething and it was weird. It tasted okay, for someone who doesn't get excited for teas. But it smelt better than it tasted. It smelt totally of caramel but it tasted of.. tea. So its abit jarring and weird. Haha.

We were given this cold dessert complimentary. Its like frozen ice cream.
Walked around after that around Shangri-La. Took pictures.

All in all, I think i tried at least 7 times before winning this Travalo at my 8th time when they asked "Whats your favorite movie of all time?"

Cozycot Lovefest 2011

Gnin and myself got shortlisted as the 50 Sweetest Couple for the Cozycot Lovefest Beaus Belles and Babes.
Its about the three stages of a woman's life, dating, marriage and babies.
Us.

There was a Charity Speed Dating where everyone was given a few minutes to get to know the person opposite them. The "eligible bachelors" were blindfolded.

Quite cool and I was trying to listen in on what the pairs were talking about. I dont think the women knew that the males will be blindfolded cuz all of them were dressed very nicely x)

We were considered the VIPs. Get to have food in a very "food testing for wedding" enviroment.
Lots of macaroons and puffs and sweet things.
Cant tell here but the cakes were glittery!

Was quite a fun experience. First time witnessing a speed dating event. Would have wanted to try even if its just for the experience!

Maybelline Eyeliner Review

The problem with this eyeliner is that its quite hard to "draw" on smooth surfaces like a eyeshadow-ed eyelid. The first time I used this (I may have twisted too much) it broke! I spent a few days using the broken off piece before it became too tiny to use.
You have to hold on to one end of your eye so it wont crinkle up. Its quite hard to get the colour out.

Also the ends are very fluffy and fat. You cannot get a sharp end with this so I have to double up my liquid Loreal liner to "connect" the end for it to be a slick wing.If you look closely you can see where the liquid liner starts! Haha. No eyeshadow for this review. Mascara I'm using is Maybelline's Magnum Super film (I'm a fan of anything that can be removed by warm water)
Sure enough, this eyeliner is very easy to remove. The downside is that it's quite hard to draw on powdered lid. Upside, thick colour, reasonably smooth line for a non-liquid liner and suitable for everyday use as its very easy to remove!

SexyLook 3D Mask Review

So happy when i received these in my mail to review. They're two Sexylook masks from Secretive.sg . Thanks LushGroup (their local distributor) Singapore!
One of it is their SexyLook Intensive Firming Duo Lifting Mask The other is their SexyLook Super Moisturizing Duo Lifting From their directions you can see that there are two "pieces" to the mask, connected at the chin area. So a brief introduction (wait i should have put this on top. heh), its number 1 best selling 3D mask in Taiwan. 3D meaning it has two parts to it and it has ear hooks to "lift" your neck and cheek area. Interesting ingredients such as Red Wine, Bird Nest, Gold Caviar, Platinum and Gem? (which i think means some minerals) are included. It is sold exclusively at Guardian for SGD$8.80 but there is a current introductory price of $7.90 so stock up!

I am also familiar with their other range LoveMore which came out in April (i think) and featured on Xiaxue's blog.

I saw on their facebook page that they might be changing the packaging of the masks!! So upsetting but i guess its the ingredients that count!

Ok i think i went a little off topic there. Since i have only one face and my sister was looking lustily at the masks i offered to let her review the green mask.

Oh my goodness my eyebrows. Does anyone else have weird eyebrows like mine? And look at this girls eyebags. *shudders*

This mask has Red Wine and Platinum in it. Checking out what platinum or any metal facial does to your skin, it cleanses dead skin, giving you a brighter skin tone. Also helps in muscle toning and skin firming! Red wine supposedly has anti-aging properties by inproving blood circulation.

I think any face product review forces people to take pictures without makeup on :( Okay back to the topic.

Look the essence is already seeping out!

Hello! Hooking behind the ear. Wrap my neck and hook again. (first time expert!) Done!! I had three handfuls (like below) to put on my hands and legs. (I'm afraid if i say this they may reduce the essence they put inside D:) It was quite loose for me. :( But at a certain head angle it felt quite tight. After! So i had a tingly sensation and my sister said it was just working on my fats in which i retorted, "I'm not fat!". I didnt leave a sticky/slimy residue and smells nice even though i think fragrance on facial stuff are unnecessary (because i have sensitive skin). Not too overpowering and i didnt break out. With my used pack!Erica and the SexyLook Super Moisturizing Duo Lifting

I hope you notice i wore pink and she wore green to match the masks. (acting creative lol!) Actually she was already in green but i had to change (thick skin).

It has Aloe Vera & Q10 which i later found out is a substance found naturally in the human body, vital component of human cellular respiration and energy production.

Hmm her top doesnt look green here compared to the mask's packaging.Insides. Oddly enough, her pack didnt have as much essence as mine. Maybe one and a half hand? (Or maybe she has a big face! Haha!) Putting it on. I had to help her!! Hello!!!
Massaging it on her face after she saw the directions on the box. (Pssh! some people dont read directions!) Since it said to keep on for 15-20 minutes she went back to her work pastel drawing. (Looks like very expensive chalk IMO). Taking it off! After! Closeup on her skin. (Which is already better than mine in the first place) Her verdict : "Quit like it even though the word 'fragrance' scares me. Very moisturising without any stickiness and my skin feels very 'fluffy' and 'supple'. Unless it smells bad without perfume, i think the fragrance isnt necessary. Definitely worth it to get again!"

The New Paper First Film Festival's Gala Awards Ceremony on Thursday March 17 at Shanghai Dolly (St James) in Clarke Quay! I brought my sister, Erica and Gnin along.
There was free flow of wine, beer, juices and bits of snacks.
Look who's behind us! (Yes this is a strategically taken photograph) Its Mark Lee and Henry Thia!
Winners all sit in front of the stage and VIP's sit behind us, so as guests we are sandwiched between them.

The winnings are still being debated..I myself am baffled at so much hard work that was put into this but apparently paled in comparison to..the one that won.

Well as for me, i am enjoying the goodiebag. :D

A family affair

Hello! So some time ago. My family had a lunch outing organised by Auntie Rose. It was at Eden Garden hotel aka The ZON.
We had a lunch buffet at their Salt n Pepper Cafe.
Look at Erica's disapproving face. *.*

Whole family. Missing a few people that are in Australia :(. Should have taken the picture when we started our meal.
Behind us is the strait that divides Johor and Singapore. Gosh Natalie's hair was super gold (It stayed gold for a few weeks, its wayyy darker now).

Recent Assignments DMP,PD,3D

So much for blogging more often. Here's my recent assignments and believe it or not, I'm going into my 3rd year in Singapore Polytechnic.

Digital Matte Painting. Created using a few pictures for the sky, the railings and the background is MacRitchie Reservoir
Edited again to be used in my 3D image projection project. I had to model most of the things in this picture. As a tree would be more difficult, i decided to put a Japanese Arch instead.
My Production Design assignment. Basically this module is to learn the design aspects of film. This assignment is Character design.

I came up with the story of a girl, Iliana, who got kidnapped by a mad puppeteer who decided to make her into a puppet. He treats her like a puppet also, painting her face and body. He kept her for days in his basement, dyeing her skin white daily. On the day of her to be the star of his puppet show, he painted her very detailed, rosebud lips and doe eyes. Proof that he does not see her as human is when he hooks her hands to be suspended on strings. She managed to painfully yank one hand free of the hook, but the pain from it prevented her from trying to escape the other hand. She won’t stop screaming for help though, so he sews her lips together, preventing her from even opening her mouth ever again.

I have more pictures of it. Lazy to dig them up. I like my hands here. Heh

My 3D work.
To compose 3D objects into a picture. Guess which ones are real and which in 3D.
This is another 3D assignment. To reflect enviroment onto 3D objects. The picture i used was Plaza Singapura during Christmas time. My idea was a wine tasting event. So i modelled wine bottles and wine glasses and the placecard which shows what wine is at this Station.
All above is modelled using Maya 3D.

Dead blog? Gah its just been such a horrifying two months and I promise promise i will blog proper once my assignments are all handed in.
Here's wishing my dear blog and all my friends, and you, reading this a Happy New Year 2011! Here's to another year of laughter and tears and success and failures and hopefully more happiness will come my way.
Honestly, i blame Facebook. What with all the instant photo uploads and the quick comments before you can even reach home from an event. It seems pointless blogging about it. Hurms!

Pictures were taken on New Year's Eve. My lipstick was 10 shades too red on Christmas Eve and all my pictures had my lips looking redder than Rudolph.

HK Day 3- SCAD, HK Uni, Ladies Street

Day 3. Lovely SCAD. Apparently the HK government gave them the old Kowloon Magistrate building to open their school.
Building was still under construction with only less than 10 classes going on. We had to go through the side door.
Mountains and hills all over Hong Kong.

They preserved all the marble walls and signs.
Oooh.
Students lounge area.
Their printing room.
Our guide explaining the importance of students knowing how to make large prints.
They have an actual dark room.
With lights on. Facinating, never seen one of these in real life. Nowadays everything is digital =(

HK Day 2- Museums, Imagi Studios, Victoria Peak

Day 2 HK.
Woke up as usual around 7. Had hotel breakfast.

Janielson's always ever ready to take pictures.Went to this Hong Kong version of Hollywood walk of stars called Avenue of Stars which had this museum nearby. We didnt go in though.
Giant statue version of Hong Kong Film Award throphy.Weather was abit depressing with CONSTANT drizzle. Doesnt even become a full fledge rain or stop at all. Just drizzle drizzle and gets in your eyes.After this my battery started to die so during the HongKong Museum of History i couldnt take any pictures. Its all with Calissa who's currently holding the pictures hostage. Its directly opposite HK's Museum of Science but we didnt go there as we had to rush for lunch then to studio visiting!

Later that day, Imagi Studios! People who brought you AstroBoy and TMNTurtles.

It was super cold and the winds could blow you away. The tram that brought us up was almost vertical!

Hong Kong Disneyland

Flight to HK was at an ungodly hour of 6.40am. Reached Changi at about 4am with my parents all the wayfrom JB. I made a mistake of assuming i could sleep on the flight hence not sleeping at all. Realised the flight to Hong Kong was only 3 and a half hours and that was the maximum amout of sleep i was to get :/
Half dead on the plane. [pic credits to Jennifer]. Managed to sleep thankfully.

A total of 20 of us of year 2's and 3's were on this trip. Majority from my class with 2 chaperoning lecturers.
Queues and queues. Realised all my make up was in my luggage :/ So none
Hong Kong Disneyland's USA street.

Streets of HK disneyland
Its Halloween month so there was massive decorations of Disney villians. This dragon is from Sleeping Beauty if i'm not wrong.
In this space ride you had to shoot aliens while in the moving ride and in the end of the ride you can compare scores with your friends. Lunch at Disneyland. First meal was free with the admission ticket. This meal costed around HK$58 which was SG$9.80 or MYR23.
Space themed cafeteria.
It seems my face looks awkward when people help me take pictures.
Behind me was Fantasy Land. Full of princesses and the like. We spent most of our time in Adventureland if i'm not wrong. Where most of the scary haunted places were at.
Hope you're sick of my face in every picture. Hahahahahahaha.Most people were busy snapping pictures for others or themselves so i end up with pictures like this. Heh.

We went to two Haunted houses. One was a jungle themed where ghouls werecoming out of walls and trees and darkness. Frankly i would be super terrified if not for someone (who shall not be named) scared out of his mind and screaming. So i ended up laughing and screaming my way out of it.
The second one was a Hotel themed one. It would be scarier if the ghouls in the hotel werent groaning and moaning in Cantonese making some of my friends say, "Umm Zi Tou" meaning, "I dont know i dont know". LOL.
Each of this balloons cost around HK$200 which is a mad MYR80,SG$13.60. Nontheless, Melissa bought one and it was quite worth it because it came with a weight and it has disco lights in it.
Every shop in Disneyland was selling Halloween themed items. I think Javeus bought a Nightmare Before Christmas skeleton hoodie.

Didnt take much pictures because we were constantly moving around. Changing groups and mixing with different people. The only time i got to take pictures was like, waiting for people who went for a toilet break.

The evil witch was all screaming in an evil manner which didnt matter cuz it was a chinese one screaming in Cantonese so probably the effect would be scarier if we knew what was going on. Hahahaha
Arrived for the first time at our hotel at 10pm. Calissa and I were roomies and got a shock when we saw how huge our room was. (Okay maybe not soo huge but we expected two single beds not 2 queens for a small study trip to Hong Kong).

I really dislike (hate is such a strong word) insincere friends. I dont honestly see the point in their sudden "acts of friendship" and honestly i rather they not count themselves as a friend rather than pluck their fingernails asking me out.

Battle of the Bands

Battle of the Bands organised by my CCA (Stage Management) was held on the 16th of July.
Gosh this post is overdue and may not even have much text! =(
I was incharge or all Publicity and Design like the last minute one above. Thats me in charge of registration on the day itself.
Early hours when people were just arriving. Event started about 7+
Ohohohohohoh. People reading the booklet i made :D
Earthcoustics.
Prizes. SG$1000 for first prize, $500 for second and $300 for third. Most popular band by votes gets a Gibson Guitar.

Recent assignments- DMP and Band Competition

Very proud of my recent assignment for Digital Matte Painting. Whoever's not familiar, Matte Painters do background images for movies. Lets say actors are acting in front of a green screen, after you take off the green, you will need the background. That was my assignment.

Took alot of re-doing and finding suitable pictures. Pictures watermarked heavily with their respectful owners and i do not own any of the pictures i used. I think i re-did this assignment 5 times from scrap because my head was so preoccupied with my other assignments and i couldnt concentrate.

So i took this few pictures and created the final artwork. I admit im still not very good and there are others better than me in my class.

Another thing I'm preoccupied lately is Battle of the Bands. Its a event in my school where bands compete for $1000 prize money (About $600+ USD).
I'm in charge of designs for the whole event and it really takes all of my brain to design and complete poster after leaflets after booklets after tickets. Hahaha. But i'm not complaining. Since its not completely publicised yet, here's a preview of the booklet :Poster photo taken by Gnin. Anyone needs some photography do look for him.
Tickets are going at $5 per person which includes a voting stub for the Most Popular Band.

I'm really not one to bitch but sometimes I feel underappreciated. Not like I'm unrecognized or anything. Just hate that I'm treated like (rap even though I do so much. A little appreciation would be nice. Some people just don't know shiit other people have to go through for them.
Here I am trying to find a nice angle for my big face. Was bored waiting for Gnin to finish his exam. Calculus was it? Hmmm. It ended at 7 though.

I just bought a Wacom tablet. Its a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch since i think the mouse doesnt cut it when it comes to fine details..

Gosh this is an old post i forgot to publish. Hahahahhaha..

Since you're reading this post, i suggest you create a new tab(heh dont close this window) and get a gmail or yahoo account. Its free anyway. And gmail can read attachments without you needing to open the file seperately. Does that make sense?
Hotmail is getting from odd to odder (is there such word?) and sometimes will be unavailable for DAYS!

Freshmen Welcome Party 2010

So i was assigned by DSD (Dep. of Student Development to come up with the graphics and whatnots for this Singapore Polytechnic Freshmen Welcome Party. It was very last minute and i was in Genting while my supervisor was emailing me to change this and that. So she would email me in the morning and i only got online at night so it was very difficult and hard communication. Above is the final poster.

Anyway, my club's supervisor Johnny also assigned me to do the projector works. So i was working alongside Videography Club's ex President Xiang Ju. He was assigned to film the whole event and also show the performances on the projector screen which we both shared.
Me sitting in front of my workspace while on my left was the lightings people and far left was the sound. To my right was XiangJu's station. He was controlling what was to be on screen. Mix of videos and my designs.

Calissa also came for this event. See Xiang Ju in the background. He was nonstop coordinating with the two camera people.

Sometimes i have to make announcements on the spot. Like when alot of people on the stage and cant really tell who's from what. Then Xiang Ju will zoom in to a particular person and I will design a header with the person's name.

After that was on hour of disco dancing. The whole place was boomin with music and heat filled the air as freshies danced the night away. Ok that sounded so lame.
SP Principal Tan Han Cheong announcing how much they collected for SP's Flag Day that day.
DJ KoFlow was spinning until when the event ended everyone shouted for an encore.
Exhausted after the event. Everyone can be seen moving out. I shake hands with the sound man for a job well done.

Event was a hardcore success and i believe everyone enjoyed themselves.
