AKA Adam Wilson, Elemental makes exceedingly good cakes, er dubstep cakes that is and by cakes I mean tracks or tunes or records or in fact songs perhaps.

Anyway this 2 disc release concentrates on material from the last four years and if you like your dubstep intelligent and without even the faintest whiff of Emmental (see what I did there eh?) in the air then hesitate no longer and purchase, purchase, purchase!

The opener 'Triple 116' has to be one of my favourites but the structure of not only the songs but the programming too makes this a spiffing listen. Oh and there's 21 tracks to get through so roll up the blunts first!

What better way to hit Fabric 50 than get someone "a little bit woah, al little bit whaay" to do the mix? None to be quite frank and break from the norm is just what a series going this long needs to keep fresh which is exactly why it has been going so long in the first place.

Now Martyn and his music might not be to everyone's tastes but his outlook on fusion and honest representation is to be admired; "I did the whole mix CD live just because I thought it was more honest than doing an Ableton DJ Mix. It is how I would play live - not everything on the CD is perfect but it's not meant to be. I just wanted to try and make it as varied as possible and get people from all different corners of the globe together on one CD."

He certainly has done that to fine effect on this 26 track mix. Although (as he admits) the mixing is not perfect it's incredibly hard to find fault with the set from the programming to the execution and the rawness merely adds a to the feeling of being on the dancefloor. Check out my favourite part of the mix when he blends Deepgrooves 'The Beat' into DJBones 'We Control The Beat'. Exquisite and a master-class on how to be a real DJ in 2010.

Husky Rescue where have you been? You used to light up my life and make my days at the record store even more fun and exciting than they were already. Then you left and didn't come back and I thought I'd lost you forever buy now you are back and everything is fine with the world.

The new single is a teaser from the forthcoming new album called 'Ship Of Light' and it rock's like a motherfucker so obviously I can't wait to hear the album. The single has another track on the B-side called 'First Call' which was kinda dull but hey not all B-sides are great but the video is cool.

Much hyped and much revered by respected acts such as Elbow and the legend that is Tom Waits, Jesca Hoop has returned to our Music Boxes with new album Hunting My Dress. Two questions beckon Was it worth the wait? and Is the hype justified? I have to answer both those questions with a big fat resounding YES!!!!! This girl has delivered big time with her own unique fusion of Experimental Rock, Psych Folk, Blues and Jazz.

When listening to this it initially took me on a journey to the outer Hebrides where I danced and pranced in the shadow of a burning Wicker Man, then onto the inner reaches of my soul where I asked myself the question what am I doing here(on the island that is!!). From there I moved on and spent the next 20 minutes in a very happy place where the sun was shining and everything was well again.

For someone to invoke such feelings of almost hippy-ish transcendence within a miserable non believer as myself has to be incredibly special. I implore you all to go out and buy this there is something for everyone here.

I thought I was going to hate this when I opened it. I mean the packaging is just cheesy to the max and I've never been a fan of his previous works.

There's no denying the man has serious vocal talent. The problem is that most of the music on the album is plain lame. That being said there are a few tracks on here worth a listen like the track featuring Brandy called Bridge To Love' and my favourite featuring Missy Elliot and Timbaland called 'Get Involved'.

IMO this is not worth buying but if you can find the tracks to buy as individual downloads then check those two out.

After hearing the first 4 or 5 tracks on this album I was totally taken aback. A barnstorming eerie start with Rain a Storm breaking into some tough edged hip hop with Lieutenant Chrom and Vast Hope, then in comes some evocative tunrtablism with Ballad of The Space Rigger Pt 1, then bang it all goes quiet. Nothing seems to move on and it feels like you get stuck listening to the same track over and over again for the rest of the album.

The last two tracks do pick up the pace somewhat but not enough to compensate for the 22 minutes of my life a lost in between, I was left feeling a little dead inside a bit like when you're at school and some bully pulls your trousers down in the playground for all to see (did that happen a lot? Ed) It feels you’ve left part of your soul behind in that moment which is what I felt whilst listening to this.

Such promise in the beginning, perhaps Bootsie got lazy or he was reliving the same traumatic experience I described above during his school days and decided to echo the experience through the medium of music. Either way I have to say personally this is a potential work of genius gone to waste.

Another compilation! Nothing special about this one. It's a straightforward standard mix but the songs are great and if you are in the market for a workout mix or something to get you in the 'mood' (sorry) then this is worth the cash.

There are some well known names on here including Kiki, Dirt Crew and some lesser known underground bombs form the likes of Filippo Moscatello and Sasse. Yeah it's not ground breaking but it does the job and certainly helped me get my groove on in the gym.

Alec Empire fans should check this out. It's not as abrasive, punk or hardcore but follows the same high quality lines of production that culminates with a rock and roll electronic indie feel that has crossover appeal in abundance.

This is, rather surprisingly, Andrew Weatherall's debut solo album and whilst certainly not his best work, or even a finished article it's got lot's going for it (Privately Electrified', 'Liar With Wings'), is demi experimental without sounding so and still has the trademark sound sneaking in here and there ('Walk Of Shame') but my favourite track has to be 'Built Back Higher'; feeling and emotion and that ability to transport you to another realm does it for me.

So a very good start that bodes well for the next album - can't wait!
