The artists formerly know as Rosie Oddie and the Odd Bunch descended upon the hordes (well around 100 of them) of Camden, bringing an energetic and bouncy flavour of punky pop rock to the launch of their new EP 'Black America'.

The star of the show is clearly leading lady Rosie Oddie (spawn of everyone’s favourite ornithologist Bill) whose raspy vocal matched with some verve on stage is quite contagious and got me dancing along (albeit at a slightly slower pace) to some incredibly easy-on-the-ear tunes.

Although my socks weren’t exactly blown from my feet I can see this band having a mass appeal and going on to have commercial successes especially if they can produce another catchy anthem to follow on from Black America.

EP REVIEW: Crimea X 'Chorne More EP' out 6 December on Hell Yeah

Is this the best release on the label so far? Quite possibly so. Opening track 'Jurij' is a reference to 80's soviet leader leader Jurij Andropov renowned for his hard line right wing approach to government.

Fear not comrades for there is not a fascist bone in this track which is actually rather dreamy and space-like, as you would expect from the Italian duo.

This three tracker is oh so Balearic and will work well in the back-room of any respectable club tout le monde so if you like your sounds nu disco, avant garde and cosmic to the max then jump on board.

3 mixed discs, dope tracklistings including Morgan Geist, Daniel Wang, Recloose, I:Cube Bat For Lashes, Junior Boys, Smith & Mighty, Sly & Robbie, Hercules & Love Affair, DJ Koze, Mathew Jonson, Isloee and Cortney Tidwell (and that's not even half) and you'd think you would be onto a winner.

You'd be right of course. This is a head's wet dream and I obliged and came in my little panties. It's that good and superbly programmed by Mr Saul, (who is now my favourite DJ btw, at least for this week) who once won Musik Magazine's Bedroom Bedlam comp. He hasn't let that put him off though and is founding owner of the superb Aus Music, oh suddenly it 'Saul' makes sense, ahem.

How much electronic music can one man produce without himself getting bored, or worse broing his audience. In the case of Jori Hulkkonen it seems he's running on Duracells.

This is ninth album in only 14 years, and that's not counting the mixes, 12"s and remixes so you can imagine this guy is a hardworker.

Quality is always paramount in my book and his latest work has this in abundance. If you like electronica, minimal and techno with soul, passion and ecstasy-filled euphoria then this is a must. Oh and head straight for the wonderful 'I Dance To Your Bass My Friend' if you are DJing this weekend, kit's a guaranteed floor-filler!

Like electro? Like mash up mixes? Good then Shir Khans latest offering will be right up your street. You may remember he did that totally awesome comp 'Maximize' well this is is kind of in the same ballpark.

He's managed to cram 32 of the labels best tracks into one mix and it's programmed in a way which makes is bearable to listen at home, in the office or even chill out to. That's because he doesn't just onslaught you with lots of head-banging noise.

Some of the tracks actually have a melody, yes a melody like Adam Sky Vs Soho 2008 'Hippychick' - lovin' that one. It don't stop there though. With a tracklist including Siriusimo, Yuksek and Zombie Disco Squad this is packed to the rafters with quality 'hot right now, cold next week' tracks that will get your blood boiling for the next few weeks at least.

The man needs no introduction so he doesn't get one. This 2 disc 20 tracker is the must have purchase of the year for any self respecting electro DJ. OK so most of them will already have most of the tracks featured on here but if you missed any of them then now is the the time to grab yourself a bargain compendium of the best of his recent stuff.

The 2 disc edition features the awesome remixes of Ladyhawke, Kid Sister, Dad Life, Tocadisco, Fisherspooner and fuckloads more. Too many to name but this is a class production seriously folks. Oh and eat your heart out Rex The Dog :)

You may remember a few weeks ago we told you about the awesome competition to win $5000 by submitting a video about how better vision can, could or has improved peoples lives.

This is a non-stop energy packed straight up DJ mix that encapsulates what they are all about; big basslines squelchy noise and breakdowns aplenty.

It's big banging main room madness from start to finish so don't buy this if you want some peace and quiet. Those of you looking for some pre-nightclub tunes to get you in the mood - look no further and if you need something fast and furious for a workout then this will get you pumped - guaranteed. It's a bit brainless though so you have been warned.

ALBUM REVIEW: V/A 'Kitsune Maison 8' out 30 November on Kitsune

The Maison series just gets better and better each time. Number 8 sees the introduction (as always) of some fresh new talent mixed with some more established acts from the Kitsune stable.

Highlights include the sumptuous tripped out slo-disco jam 'High Together' by Sirusmo. The eerie kids voice is delightfully disturbing.

The comp does take a while to get in the swing of things with an eclectic start slowing things up until about track 6 when the introduction of what will be a massive electro club hit 'Dance Till Dawn' by Heartsrevolution kicks the tempo up a notch.

Things get disco-revival with the Moulinex mix of the new Two Door Cinema Club cut 'I Can Talk'. This track is like condensed Kitsune and is the highlight of the 20 track marathon. There's some massive misses on this but that's the beauty of pushing right to the limit and not playing safe. It's this willingness to push things forward that has kept Kitsune fresh and on the pulse so far so long may it continue!

I went round a Gyratory System in Catford once. It was shit, unlike this album which was brilliantly described by NME as being "like a score written by Kraftwerk for Looney Tunes". I'm not a plagiariser (honest) but I do however agree with this incredibly apt description.

On a personal note I’d like to add it actually sounds like the soundtrack to Looney Tunes’ (what was that about plagiarism? - Ed) late night acid trips a scary thought yet something that sounds as though you’d like to be part of it, thought you saw a pussy cat??!!?

The whole thing is lovingly produced, tweaked, tweaked again then injected in the eyeball with a whole lotta twisted genius Dr Andrew Blick the madman eccentric genius behind Gyratory System has created something so incredibly unique and terrifying it beggars belief… I can only suggest giving this a listen so you can truly understand what I’m blabbering on about.

Cortney Tidwells So We Sing consisting of Remixed tracks from her album Boys is a pleasantly sounding enough trio of tracks that quite possibly could have been released as a single A-side.

It floats in some sub genre I’ll label minimal electronic indie with a hint of Bjorkism whilst ensuring it keeps it’s Portishead on it’s shoulders (Apologies I’ll get on with the review now) opening with the delightfully lo-fi Oslo Remixed by Hands of Cuba has an excellent electro tinge consistent throughout with an incredibly haunting overture, add to the mix Cortney’s voice which transcends most superlatives I can think of and you’re left with a work of resounding beauty.

However from there for me whilst both Son and Moon (again remixed by Hands of Cuba) and title track So We Sing (Remixed by Daryl) are decent enough but they struggle to hold a candle up to the remixed Oslo which is worth purchasing this for alone.
