One LBD for 365 days...

One little black dress for 365 days. What a concept, right?

Having grown up attending schools with a uniform requirement, Sheena Matheiken knows all too well how boring uniforms can be, especially for fashionable, creative people. Even when given rules about how to dress though, these individuals always find a way to stand out in a sea of the same. Throughout her education, Sheena was continually intrigued by the individuality expressed through creative accessorizing. And it is this concept of basics paired with interesting details that defines her fashionable venture, The Uniform Project.

With seven identical dresses (one for each day), Sheena posts a new variation of her LBD look using primarily vintage, handmade, or hand-me-down garments and accessories. The dress, designed by Eliza Starbuck, has buttons going down one side and can be worn frontward or backward. Surprisingly, she has yet to look like an outfit repeater. Her creativity and fashion sense, along with clothing donations from designers all over the world, enables Sheena to give a new name to versatility!

Beyond the U.P.’s fun concept is a greater purpose: getting kids into school! Financial donations can be made to the Akanksha Foundation, an organization that provides uniforms and educational supplies to children living in low-income areas of India.

Great website, great cause!

This weeks lookbooker of the week hails from my city (yes I kind of feel that I can actually call LA home...kind of..makes me feel like I'm cheating on England when I say it though...) Anyhoo. Isn't she lovely?

Natalie S. is a 19 year old model from Los Angeles, and she's as stylish as she is gorgeous. She is the epitome of laid back LA cool, and she does it the right way... not too 'factory made hipster' not too 'LA trash'. She's just perfect, and I love that she really represents Los Angeles fashion properly. That's not to say there should be a uniform, what I'm saying is, she isn't 'uniform' it's not what people generally expect from LA (we're have style too you know!) and it's stylish, and it's wearable. Therefore perfect. Non?
