Monday, for me, has been the Big Bad Wolf these past few weeks. It’s a simple case of “so much to do, so little time.” I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, particularly on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. I simply feel overwhelmed and it’s my own fault.

Monday doesn’t have to be this way.

By Friday, I typically have a good picture of what will need to be done on Monday. Things aren’t really that bad or overwhelming, I just need to take everything one step at a time. As the Kenyans would say, Hakuna Matata. No worries.

Starting this week, I’m putting an end to this newly found madness. There’s no reason, so I’m changing my ways. It’s all in the mind.

Black is this year’s pink just like Monday is the new Friday. Think about it.

Seriously though…

I’m not a clothing conservative, but I’m always shocked when people don’t dress perfectly, well….umm, “business-like” at a “business” function.

This outfit would be so “fetch” for a gathering with the gals. But business?

I’m sure she sold a lot of insurance that evening…

There are moments when you luck out—you’ll go to a networking event and you’ll find someone who immediately needs your services or product. But most of the time, your best contact will come weeks, months, if not years later.

Lately I’ve been receiving phone calls from people I met last year or even the year before! I met them at networking groups I no longer attend. But they still had my business card.

What’s the most important thing when starting a business? Just get out there and network, network, network! You never know what business card you hand out could lay that golden egg!

It’s all about getting out there and building relationships.

I’ve heard a lot of bad business plans and ideas, but this one might take the prize.

How about starting a company where people pay you to kidnap them so they know what the real thing feels like?  Yes, you heard right.

That’s what French company Ultime Réalité offers clients. Pick and choose your kidnapping: 4-10 hours, where you’re kidnapped, the ransom, or add a helicopter chase.

If you choose the “Extreme” package, you can wake up in a morgue surrounded by corpses and body bags.

Basic kidnapping packages start at 900 Euros.

I’m curious: Who is paying for this?

I might be a modern woman, but I’m an old-fashioned kinda gal when it comes to my schedule and calendars.

Is it just me or is the Blackberry calendar really annoying to use? I find it’s okay for a reminder, but that’s about all.

I once tried to use the Blackberry calendar and sync it to my computer but failed miserably and lost all the data in my phone. #fail

It’s not funny.

So how do I plan, schedule, and pencil you in? I use a weekly planner and a writing utensil. It’s pretty groovy and my grandma would use it too.

At the end of the year, it goes in a box and only sees the light of day during tax time. So easy.

My system works for me.

Oh wait, March already did. Can you believe March is here already? Just yesterday it was Christmas morning and I was opening up my brand new MacBook Pro. Now it’s March. Poof.

Where did the time go?

We could sit here hours pondering that question, but it would really be a waste of time because it would be June before we’d get around to solving it.

I see March as a yearly milestone. It’s a month for reflection: Where have you been and what have you been doing the first two months of the year? It’s also a month for contemplation: Where am I headed? Is it in the right direction? Am I meeting my goals, hopes, dreams, aspirations, expectations, and whatever else for the year?

Last week I offered to babysit and today was the day.

I don’t know what in the world possessed me. Just this past Thursday I met one month old Munchk’n for the first time and he was sleeping soundly. He opened his eyes once or twice and looked around the room and then went back to sleep. That was pretty much it. That and the fact that he’s so gosh darn cute!

So I offered to babysit. I don’t mind having Munchk’n keep me company in my home office while I work on a few projects, blog, send some emails. Easy enough because he sleeps.

Wrong.

Munchk’n, according to Mommy, didn’t sleep very well last night and arrived at my home this AM, a tad bit cranky.

He only wanted me to hold him, so that’s what I did. The entire morning. And no, he didn’t sleep. I also discovered one-handed typing isn’t for me.

Clearly, cranky babes and biz don’t mix.

Just so you know.

But he’s still gosh darn cute! #cheekpinch
