So when I took this photo I was pretty sure it would fit the bill and make for a nice wallpaper. I’ve been using it for a couple of days on my laptop, and for now I rather like it. I might sort something out for dual monitors at some point but, for now, there’s 16:9 widescreen and 4:3 regular aspect versions available for download at all the usual resolutions, right up to 2560x1600.

OS X Dock - 'Ghost & Glow' Edition

OS X Dock - 'Ghost & Glow' Edition:
Keith Lang, designer at Plasq who make applications like Skitch, has some interesting ideas for improving the Dock’s behaviour when files are dragged to applications.
Elbow — Running To Stand Still

U2’s “Running to Stand Still” is one of my all time favourite songs, from one of my all time favourite albums. So, whilst I was intrigued to hear Elbow’s cover of it for the “War Child: Heroes” album, I wasn’t really expecting it to hold up. I was wrong — it’s superb, paying homage, whilst taking nothing away from the original.

Why I always disable "Wake On Lid Open" on my MacBooks

Why I always disable "Wake On Lid Open" on my MacBooks:
I’ve never been troubled by this myself, but if you’re a cart-your-laptop-around-here-there-and-everywhere type, this may well be solid advice.
