Earagail Arts Festival, John Prine news

T with the Maggies and Earagail Arts Festival are extremely disappointed to announce that John Prine is unable to perform with T with the Maggies at this year’s festival on Saturday 23rd July. T with The Maggies and Mary Jane Lammond will still perform and tickets remain valid for this date. Those who have purchased tickets and wish to obtain a full refund may contact the box office on +353 (0)749120777. The following statement has been issued by the artist’s management -

“Due to being hospitalized over the weekend with a stomach virus, John Prine will not be able to perform this year’s Earagail festival. He has been advised by his doctor to not travel for the moment. He wishes the festival the best and was looking forward to performing for his friends and family in Donegal.”

Errigal Arts Festival with John Prine & Mary Jane Lammond

T with the Maggies will play a special performance at the Errigal Arts Festival In Letterkenny, Co Donegal on July 23rd. They are thrilled to have both John Prine and Mary Jane Lammond as special guests.
John Prine is internationally reknowned as one of the folk/country world’s most accomplished singer songwriters.
Mary Jane Lammond is a noted traditional singer and exponent of the Scottish Gaelic culture in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

In Solidarity with the People of Japan concert

T with the Maggies will be among the impressive list of traditional acts to perform at the ‘In Solidarity with the People of Japan’ concert at Dublin’s Button Factory on May 10th.

Other acts who have agreed to perform are Altan, Dervish, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Dónal Lunny, Paddy Glackin, Kila, Harry Bradley and surprise guests are expected.

The concert will be streamed live online on www.livetrad.com so that people in Japan can see that Ireland is in solidarity with them.

Speaking about the event Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh stated: “All of us in the trad world wanted to do something after the years of support the Japanese have given to both Altan and the other bands. This is our small way of showing that they are in our thoughts.”

The ‘In Solidarity with the People of Japan’ concert will take place at 8pm on Tuesday May 10th in The Button Factory, Temple Bar. Tickets are available in advance from www.tickets.ie and Claddagh Records,

All proceeds will go to Aid Japan and The Japanese Red Cross.

Maggies play Lorient, France

This will be their first appearance in France.
