I’ve been blogging for over a decade mamas! And you know what?

Blogging and Pinterest have changed a lot over the years.

And the one thing I’ve learned is that the bloggers who stick around are the ones who adapt.

Every year there’s a new tool, a new strategy, a new algorithm update, or a new trend everyone is talking about. Instead of fighting those changes, I’ve learned to adjust and keep moving forward.

And you should too!

I mean, I don’t blog every day.

I’m not on Pinterest every day either.

I’m a busy mom.

My son has baseball, hockey, and even an umpire job this summer.

My daughter is busy with softball. We’re also in the middle of driveway and patio renovations, so life feels pretty hectic right now.

Because of that, I just don’t have the time to sit and blog all day. Plus, I want to enjoy the summer!

So, Ive created a simple system that helps me stay consistent without spending all day online.

The best part?

It still helps me grow traffic and make money even when life gets busy.

My Blogs Are Still Growing (Well Most of Them)

One thing I always tell bloggers is that traffic will fluctuate.

My main blog, Twins Mommy, has had months where traffic climbed to 50,000 pageviews and other months where it dropped lower. That’s completely normal.

My niche site, Sponge Hacks, continues to bring in traffic year after year because I’ve built a library of content that keeps working for me.

Here’s a snapshot of my traffic on that website.

That’s also why I encourage bloggers not to rely on a single website.

If you have one blog already, consider starting another one in a different niche. Having multiple sites gives you more opportunities to grow traffic and income over time.

Step 1: Use Pinterest Trends for Blog Post Ideas

My first stop is usually Pinterest Trends.

Pinterest already knows what people are searching for, so why not use that information?

Instead of guessing what readers want, I look at trending topics and use those ideas to inspire content.

For example, if Pinterest Trends is showing crochet pet accessories as a growing topic, I might brainstorm crochet dog patterns, crochet gifts for pet lovers, or beginner crochet projects for dog owners.

This approach helps me create content that aligns with what Pinterest users are actively looking for right now.

Step 2: Use ChatGPT for Better Headlines

Once I have a topic, I use ChatGPT to brainstorm SEO-friendly and clickable titles.

I’ll ask for:

• Pinterest-friendly titles
• SEO headlines
• Emotional headlines
• Curiosity-driven titles

I rarely use the titles exactly as they’re written. Instead, I use them as inspiration.

Often I’ll shorten them, combine ideas, or tweak the wording based on what I know my audience will click on.

I’ll even go to Pinclicks to check out the top pins for this keyword and see if I’m missing something like a design style or popular term.

This process helps me find a stronger angle before I start writing.

Step 3: Create the Blog Post

Next comes the part where I actually create the content.

Every blogger has a different process, and what works for one person might feel completely wrong for someone else. Some bloggers swear by detailed outlines before they write a single word. Others open a blank document and start typing. Some record voice notes while driving or folding laundry and then turn those thoughts into blog posts later.

And yes, many bloggers are now using AI tools to help brainstorm ideas, organize information, or speed up parts of the writing process.

The method itself isn’t what determines success.

What matters is finding a workflow that helps you consistently hit publish. I use a variety of ways to create content and I lay out the best one for mom bloggers in Pin & Win!

As a busy mom raising twins, I’ve never had the luxury of spending an entire day crafting the perfect blog post. Most of my blogging happened during nap times, after bedtime, between school pickups, or while dinner was cooking.

Because of that, I had to create a content workflow that was realistic for my life, not some ideal schedule I saw another blogger using online.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I’ve been able to manage multiple blogs over the years. I focus on creating helpful content efficiently instead of chasing perfection. My goal is always to provide value to readers while keeping my publishing schedule consistent.

If you’re building a blog while juggling kids, work, or other responsibilities, give yourself permission to simplify the process.

Find a workflow that fits your life, stick with it, and keep publishing. Consistency will take you much further than waiting for every post to feel perfect.

Step 4: Research What Pins Are Already Ranking

Before I create a pin, I want to see what’s already working and use PinClicks to research top-performing pins and identify common patterns.

I look at things like:

• The words used on the pin
• The style of the design
• The number of saves
• The titles being used

This gives me valuable clues about what Pinterest users are engaging with.

If the top-performing pins all use words like “easy,” “free,” “quick,” or “adorable,” I’ll consider incorporating similar language into my own title and pin design.

Step 5: Create Pins in Canva

Right now, I’m still creating most of my pins in Canva.

While AI-generated images continue to improve, I’ve found that my Canva templates are working well for me.

I like having full control over the fonts I use, the colors and overall design.

And for my blogs, simple Canva pins continue to generate consistent traffic.

Step 6: Schedule Your Pins

I use Pin Generator to schedule multiple pins throughout the day.

While manual pinning can work, I just don’t have the time to do that for every one of my niche blogs.

Scheduling allows me to batch my work and focus on creating content instead and that’s the workflow I use every day.

But, if you have the time to manual pin, try it and see if you get some results!

For me, when life gets busy, scheduling keeps my Pinterest account active without requiring daily effort.

Pinterest Tips That Are Working for Me Right Now

If you’re using Pinterest for your blog and you’re not getting much traffic from all that pinning, maybe you’re missing something in your workflow.

Here are a few things I’ve noticed:

1. Add Text to Your Pins

Most of my top-performing pins include text overlays. I make sure to use easy-to-read fonts and have the important words in a large font.

People want to quickly understand what the content is about before clicking.

That doesn’t mean every pin needs text, but it’s worth testing.

Try making your main pin with words on it and a few alternative ones with different text on it.

2. Don’t Rely on Faces

Over the years I’ve seen that for many niches, close-up faces don’t perform as well as lifestyle images, objects, hands, or styled scenes.

This isn’t true for every niche, but it’s something I’ve consistently noticed across several of my sites.

So, be cautious and just avod, if possible, using a face in your pin designs.

3. Check Your Analytics Regularly

Your Pinterest analytics will tell you exactly what your audience likes.

Instead of guessing, look at your top outbound-click pins and create more content around what’s already working.

4. Don’t Ignore Seasonal Content

One strategy I’m focusing on more in 2026 is seasonal content for Pinterest marketing.

Pinterest users love to save seasonal pins and for the longest times I just avoided writing seasonal content.

I like evergreen content because, at that time, I was more focused on Google ranking.

But, even if your niche feels evergreen, I’ve found there’s usually a seasonal angle you can create.

For example:

• Freelance writing blogs can cover summer schedules or holiday productivity.
• Food blogs can focus on seasonal recipes.
• Craft blogs can create holiday and seasonal projects.
• Productivity blogs can publish seasonal routines and planning content.

Seasonal posts can attract fresh traffic while helping your content feel timely and relevant.

Blogging and Pinterest in 2026 Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated

If there’s one thing I want you to remember, it’s this:

You don’t need a complicated system to grow your blog.

You don’t need to spend all day on Pinterest, and you definitely don’t need to be perfect.

Life gets busy. Kids have activities. Summers get hectic. Projects pile up.

Give yourself some grace.

Create content consistently, use Pinterest strategically, and focus on building systems that fit your lifestyle.

That’s exactly what I’m doing in 2026, and it’s helping me continue growing traffic even during the busiest seasons of life.

Even though I eventually moved into blogging full-time, I’ve always loved making things with my hands.

Now it’s fun seeing my daughter pick up that same creative spark. She’s recently become obsessed with crocheting and always has some sort of yarn project sitting beside her.

And just recently, my mother-in-law gave me a sewing machine.

That gift sent me down a rabbit hole of fabric projects, and one thing I quickly noticed was how many little scraps of fabric seem to pile up after every project.

The good news?

Those scraps are perfect for creating cute, practical projects instead of ending up in the trash.

Fabric Scrap Projects for the Home

If you’re creative like me, then you’ll LOVE these cute and easy sewing crafts using fabric scraps!

You can use a sewing machine (this is the one I have and it’s perfect for beginners) or thread and needle for these projects.

1. Sew a Tea Wallet

This adorable little project is perfect for tea lovers and makes a thoughtful handmade gift.

It’s one of those fabric scrap projects that looks boutique-worthy but is surprisingly simple to sew. Add a few specialty tea bags inside and sell them at craft fairs or gift them to teachers and friends.

Cut two rectangles of fabric for the outside and inside of the wallet.

Cut two smaller rectangles for the tea bag pockets.

Fold and press the pocket pieces, then sew them onto the inside fabric.

Place the outside and inside fabric right sides together and sew around the edges, leaving a small opening.

Turn it right side out, press it flat, and stitch the opening closed.

Add a button, snap, or ribbon closure.

2. Make Fabric Coasters

Fabric coasters are cute, practical, and one of the easiest projects for beginners. They add color to coffee tables, desks, and kitchen spaces while protecting surfaces.

Create matching sets and package them together as handmade gifts or products to sell.

Cut two fabric squares and one piece of batting the same size.

Layer the fabric right sides together, then place the batting on top.

Sew around the edges, leaving a small opening.

Turn it right side out and press it flat.

Topstitch around the edge to close the opening and give it a finished look.

3. Create Scrap Fabric Twine

This is one of the easiest no-waste projects you can make.

The colorful twine can be used to wrap gifts, decorate mason jars, hang ornaments, or add charm to seasonal displays. It’s a great way to use even the tiniest scraps that are too small for sewing projects.

Cut fabric scraps into long thin strips.

Tie two strips together at one end.

Twist each strip tightly, then twist them around each other.

Keep adding new strips by overlapping the ends as you twist.

Roll your finished twine into a ball and use it for wrapping gifts or decorating crafts.

4. Sew Lavender Sachets

These sweet little sachets add a lovely scent to drawers, closets, and linen cabinets.

Turn the pouch right side out.

Place one cotton piece and one soft backing piece together.

Pull the thread slightly to gather the fabric.

Fill the center with stuffing.

Pull the thread tight and stitch it closed.

Add a small stick, cinnamon stick, or felt stem to the top.

10. Sew Mug Rugs

Mug rugs are like oversized coasters and make any coffee break feel extra special.

Cut fabric scraps into strips or small squares.

Sew them together into a rectangle.

Add batting and backing fabric.

Cut a long piece of twine or string.

“Why isn’t my Pinterest account growing?”

And it’s not like one email subscriber or blogger…it’s everyone (including me at times!).

I mean, I bet you’re probably doing all the things you’re supposed to be doing like:

• pinning consistently
• testing different pin designs
• watching what other bloggers are doing and trying to stay active

But somehow your traffic still feels stuck.

I remember going through this too.

I’d refresh my Pinterest analytics constantly waiting to see a spike in impressions or clicks.

And every time nothing happened, I assumed my niche was the problem or my pin designs just weren’t good enough.

But most of the time, that’s not actually the issue.

A lot of mom bloggers completely overlook one of the biggest pieces of Pinterest growth in 2026:

Your Pinterest profile.

Your profile tells Pinterest what your account is about, who your content is for, and where your pins belong on the platform.

So when your profile feels random, unclear, or all over the place, Pinterest struggles to understand your content too.

And when Pinterest gets confused, your pins usually stop getting pushed.

So in this post, I want to show you exactly how I’d set up a Pinterest profile in 2026 if I wanted more traffic, better reach, and faster account growth.

Why Your Profile Is the First Thing to Fix

Your Pinterest profile is what tells Pinterest what your content is about, who it’s for, and where your pins belong on the platform.

So when your profile feels unclear or disconnected, Pinterest has a much harder time understanding your account too.

And once Pinterest gets confused, your growth usually slows down with it.

This typically happens the most with new Pinterest users. You are brand new to the platform and you need to TRAIN Pinterest on what you share and blog about.

When you have an optimized Pinterest profile, your pins reach more relevant people, your traffic grows more consistently, and your blog will start making money!

So, if you aren’t seeing traffic, try one of these profile tips and start seeing traffic today!

1. Start With a Clear Niche (Even If You Blog About Multiple Topics)

If you are a lifestyle blogger, it’s scary niching down, right?

You might be writing about recipes, crafts, mom life, and home organization. That’s normal.

I do the same on some of my niche sites (i.e. you will see my latest lifestyle blog in my updated Pin & Win Pinterest Marketing Program)

But your Pinterest profile still needs one clear anchor.

When I look at your profile, I should instantly understand what your content is about. More importantly, Pinterest should understand it too.

Instead of trying to cover everything equally, choose one main direction.

For example:

• Easy recipes and home tips for busy moms
• Mom life, crafts, and organizing ideas
• Work-from-home tips for moms building online income

You’re not limiting yourself. You’re giving Pinterest a starting point.

And once Pinterest understands that, it becomes much easier for your pins to reach the right people.

If you still can’t narrow down your niche topics, try narrowing down your audience.

Instead of ALL moms, focus on moms with little kids.

Instead of pregnant moms, focus on FIRST-TIME pregnant moms.

I’m picking an audience to write to and this is what I did for Twins Mommy. I could have narrowed down to ONLY blogging for moms who also have twins, but I decided to widen my audience to include any mom with little kids.

So becarful about narrowing down TOO much!

2. Use a Real Photo and a Keyword-Friendly Name

This is one of those small changes that makes a big difference.

I know it’s tempting to use a logo or a cute graphic or even an AI avatar. I used to think it made my brand look more polished.

But in 2026, a real photo works better.

Pinterest is leaning more into real creators. A clear, friendly photo helps your profile feel trustworthy and human.

When someone lands on your profile, they should feel like they’re following a real person, not a brand account.

I recently had to use a real photo instead of an AI version for one of my niche Pinterest profiles because traffic was dipping. Once it changed, I noticed a small change which told me I was going in the right direction.

For your name, keep it simple but strategic.

If you’re just starting out:

• Use your name + blog name
  Example: Elna | Twinsmommy

If you’re more established or want to lean into keywords:

• Add what you help people with
  Example: Elna | Make Money from Home

You’re helping Pinterest connect your profile to search terms right away.

3. Write a Bio That Helps Pinterest Understand You

Your bio isn’t just for readers.

It’s for Pinterest.

This is where you tell Pinterest exactly what your content covers.

When I write my bio, I think about the main topics I want to rank for and then I write it in a way that still feels natural.

Here’s what mine says:

Advice for moms to make money at home with making crafts, selling printables and more. I also share tips to work at home and Pinterest marketing tips to grow your blog and business. Get my free Pin to Profit Blueprint @ twinsmommy.com

You don’t need to sound robotic. You just need to be clear.

Here’s an example style you can follow:

Advice for moms who want to make money at home. I share tips on blogging, Pinterest marketing, crafts, and selling printables. Grab my free blueprint to grow your traffic.

This tells Pinterest, my profile is for moms who are have a blog and work from home.

That clarity is what leads to clicks on your blog.

4. Clean Up Your Boards (This Changes Everything)

When I first started my Pinterest profile, it was a personal profile.

I saved random things at that time like wedding dresses, pet pics, vacation spots, and recipes.

Those were the things I was interested in, in my early 20’s.

But when I started Twins Mommy, I decided to using Pinterest for traffic and that meant cleaning up my boards.

If your boards look like this:

• Wedding hairstyles
• Keto recipes
• Tattoo ideas
• Backyard pools

Pinterest doesn’t know what your account is actually about.

And if Pinterest is confused, your traffic will be inconsistent.

What I do now is keep my boards aligned with my content.

Think of your boards as extensions of your blog categories.

For example:

• Work from home tips
• DIY crafts
• Gifts to make and sell
• Desk organization ideas
• Pinterest marketing tips

You don’t need 50 boards just start with 10–15 strong, focused boards.

And anything that doesn’t match your content?

Archive it.

It’s not gone forever. It’s just no longer confusing Pinterest.

5. Use Keywords in Your Board Titles and Descriptions

This is one of the easiest ways to get more traffic. Your board titles should be clear and searchable.

Try to avoid vague or cute names. Stop using “my favorite foods” or “Jen’s faves.” Pinterest won’t get any context clues from those board name descriptions.

Instead, use keywords that most people would type into Pinterest like, “Easy Weeknight Dinners” or “Backyard ideas.”

Then add a short description about your blog topics.

I like to use ChatGPT to help me come up with a description for my boards.

Quick and easy weeknight dinners for busy families. Simple meals, fast recipes, and time-saving cooking ideas.

Pinterest reads this and uses this information to understand your content and show it to the right people.

And that’s exactly what you want.

You can use Pinterest to find keywords for your bio by typing it into the top bar and reading the drop down items.

For example, if you are a food blog that does mostly desserts, you can use the drop down menu to get ideas like:

Easy desserts to make for your family. Find dessert recipes and ideas like appetizers and cozy soups and more.

6. Turn On Rich Pins

If you haven’t done this yet, this is one of those quiet upgrades that makes everything work better.

Rich Pins pull information from your website and attach it to your pins.

That includes your blog title and description.

So instead of Pinterest guessing what your pin is about, it gets the information directly from your site.

This helps Pinterest trust your content and show it to the right audience.

If you’re using WordPress, this is usually a quick setup.

Once it’s done, you don’t have to think about it again.

7. Create a Pin Style That Feels Like You

When I first started, I used whatever templates I could find.

And honestly, a lot of them looked the same.

That’s the problem.

Pinterest doesn’t reward generic designs.

If your pins blend in, they get ignored.
