Bye bye tumbleCal!

Guys its been a great run, but its time to move on, that’s right, we’re closing down tumbleCal. But not all is lost, starting in June, Calndrs will be fully launched as v2 of tumbleCal. They’ll be new calendars, new users, a new design, pretty much new everything!

I want to thank all subscribers, fans, staff, and users of tumbleCal for making it what it is today. I also want to thank Tumblr for receiving it so well and featuring it a bunch back when it first started. Hard to believe it’s over a year old already!

Please continue to follow this blog though! When Calndrs is ready I’ll be posting information here on how to get to it.

Now everyone walk slowly into the setting sun with your back to the camera.

Domain Issues

Hey guys,

tumbleCal recently had its domain moved to a new system and we are therefore experiencing some minor issues. I’m not sure in what locations our site is appearing, but it may be a little funky for a couple of hours and not show up for some people.

In a couple hours we will post the guest designer calendar, and then on Tuesday, March 2nd, we will post the Staff Cals.

Well you won’t be able to get something as advanced as Photoshop for free, but Adobe does offer an online version of sorts at photoshop.com

So why not design a calendar? Remember you can make a cal for us and submit it here. Just be sure to read those instructions! tumbleCal has a pretty large audience so you’d be pretty popular and junk I guess.

Will tumblecal ever become something else? Like a bigger website or something? Also, yearly calendar to purchase plz!

We have plans for tumbleCal down the road that I’ve already started on, but we’re ways off from that, but once I get some time I will. We seem to get a lot of requests for yearly calendars as well, I’m sure that’s something we’ll look into, right now its just a matter of how much time the staff has.

Hey, do you have a particular theme or style you’d like to see used in the February cals?

Is there a template we can follow to create and submit a calendar? Are there any particular guidelines to follow in regards to dimensions, dpi, etc.?

Well each staff member tries to have a cal ready for the beginning of each month. Sometimes we start them literally the night before (like my November calendar). But sometimes we are just so busy with our jobs or other projects that not everyone can get a cal out on time. We try to avoid it but we’re human.

Wedding invitations? Probably not what tumbleCal is about, but almost all of us are available for freelance, so message someone if you need them!
