DOPE!!! This is the official music video for GLC's "Clockin' Lotsa Dollarz" featuring Bun B and Sir Mix-A-Lot. You might recognize GLC from his numerous guest appearances and most notably on Kanye West tracks. He is signed to Yeezy's G.O.O.D. Music label and will be releasing his upcoming album, Love, Life& Loyalty on October 12th.

I've been hearing a lot more from GLC lately and I have to say, I'm definitely a fan. I always thought he had some crazy potential based on his guest appearance joints but after getting some recognition, he just seemed to disappear. I guess he's just been spending lots of time putting together some quality music. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

I forgot to put up a Thursday Throwbacks post yesterday because I basically had no idea what day of the week it was. Whoops. So I decided to hit you off with two joints from the Alkoholiks to make up for it.

The Liks have a ton of dope joints but "Make Room" and "Daaam!" might be my favorites. These dudes are some of the best lyricists/rappers to ever come out of the West Coast. They've got that rapid fire flow and dirty beat style that was influenced by the East Coast but still had the West Coast swagger.

I'm surprised they never did better commercially since they have some nice radio/club joints but there was a ton of competition back in the 90's so it's understandable that they flew a little under the radar. If they came out today, they would destroy the competition.

If you have never listened to one of their albums, I suggest you start with their first one 21 & Over and then take it from there with Coast II Coast, Likwidation, X.O. Experience and Firewater. All of them are nice and the first 3 are classics. You can also check out their best of material on the album Bar Tab.

This is some hot shit right here! The Game has been in the zone lately with all of the new material he's been dropping. His latest mixtape "Brake Lights" is NASTY and his next official release The R.E.D. Album is shaping up to be a monster.

A lot of people thought he was going to fall off after he left G-Unit years ago but it turns out he is the only one that is actually thriving out of that whole crew. Dude is a beast and just keeps getting better with age. Respect.

This is the official music video for "Deadly Medley" by Black Milk featuring Royce Da 5'9" and eLZhi off his new album, Album Of The Year, dropping on September 14th.

I'm not sure if the album will live up to it's super ballsy title but this track is definitely some dope shit. Black Milk makes some dirty ass beats and his flow has improved tremendously over the past few years so I expect him to bring some heat on this new joint. If you've never heard any of his old stuff, I suggest you give it a listen. His production skills are definitely solid.

Oh shit! This remix of Kanye's "Power" is hard as hell! Wow. I think this is better than the original if that's even possible. Kanye is not messing around anymore. He is bringing some serious heat. This new album is going to be ridiculous!

Jay-Z destroyed this track and I think that got Kanye to step his lyrics up big time. I could do without Swizz Beatz yappin' on the track but I do like how they switched up the beat and went with an old school sound. You can even hear the "I've Got the Power" sample in the background. Shit is hot!!!

I just finished listening to my boy Lorenzo's new mixtape "Fresh Out the Box" and the shit is tight. If you're looking for some new R&B with a Hip Hop influence then you should definitely check it out. He's got a unique sound and style that combines a sing song rappin' type flow on the verses while still being able to bang out the notes on the hooks or some of the more traditional R&B tracks like "Unthinkable".

If you are from New England you should definitely support him since he's from the Boston area. Rappers and producers from Boston have been increasing in popularity over the past few years but there really isn't anyone out there currently reppin' the Bean in the R&B arena so there is definitely an opportunity for him there.

This is the official music video for Drake's "Miss Me" featuring Lil Wayne from his debut album Thank Me Later. I wasn't sure what I thought of the song when I first bought the album but I think it's growing on me and I think I might consider it one of the best on the album at this point.

It took me awhile to get used to the vibe at first since it feels like two completely different songs mashed together but in a way that works. The fairly uptempo beat and energized lyrics is how it starts off but then it kind of switches to a more R&B flavored joint on the hook with a more subtle rhythm. Then the beat changes again and you are taken to the next level of the song. It's almost like it's in 3 or 4 chapters or something. I think that makes sense, right?

Anyway, I like how they threw in the video of Lil Wayne and made it look cool with his image reflecting on multiple objects and in different angles and sizes. I'm sure they probably recorded that before Weezy went to jail and it was probably just in front of a green screen or something plain so they could use it any way they saw fit. They definitely made it work.

Thursday Throwbacks: Eric B. & Rakim - Juice (Know The Ledge)

I can't believe I've waited this long to use Eric B. & Rakim's "Juice (Know The Ledge)" for the Thursday Throwback post but I think it's about that time. I feel like I say this every time I throw up an old school track but this song is literally one of my all time favorites. It has an unbelievable energy, the production is unreal and Rakim brings the heat in what might be one of his best lyrical performances of all time.

On top of that, it's from my favorite movie, JUICE. People always ask me why I became a DJ and it's basically because of this movie. Watching Q spin on the 1's and 2's all movie long made me want to go and get some turntables so bad. I couldn't afford them until I got to college a few years later but once I did, I was locked in. I watched this movie so much that I would wear out the VHS tape to the point that it was unwatchable. I've probably owned about 3 copies since and now have it on DVD.

If you want to take a blast to the past and relive the early 90's right now then take a look at the clips below. I almost lost my mind when I saw the second clip. I forgot how many Reebok Pumps Q was rockin'! So many classics!

That's just some dope shit right there! I love that Skillz is reppin' for the average dude on "Regular Guy" and literally "keepin' it real" instead of rappin' about fake shit like all of the other clowns out there nowadays. I would so much rather listen to someone rap about stuff that they actually did or dealt with in their life instead of trying to perpetrate like they've got tons of money, cars and girls.

I still don't understand why Skillz is not a bigger name in Hip Hop. He's known in the underground by Hip Hop heads but the only reason why anyone outside of that has heard of him is because of his yearly "Rap Ups" on Hot 97. That's a shame.

He's got a dope style, flow and voice that could easily be accepted by the mainstream. His one liners and metaphors are unbelievable and he is just funny as hell. I can't remember how many times I've had to hit rewind after one of his lines and I rarely ever do that for anyone these days. I just don't get it. I guess he's OK with ghostwriting for a lot of today's top artists and getting that check instead of trying to be int he spotlight himself. I can't hate on that. Get that money however you can, homey.

Damn. Banks keeps dropping hits all of a sudden. Did he take some Hip Hop steroids or something? He was almost out of the league and now he's dropping bombs like Sosa in '98. "Angry Girl" is definitely a good sign that "Beamer, Benz or Bentley" was not a fluke and he's officially back in full effect.

The video is cool and there are some hot bitches in there but I just couldn't get past that ugly mofo Lloyd (not Banks). That dude is a strange looking Hip Hop hobbit or some shit. WTF is up with those Lil' Red Riding Hood side braids on the side of his head? That is just not a good look, bro. Those glasses aren't helping your cause either. Try staying in the background next time because I almost didn't make it through the video because of your ugly ass.

Anyway, Lloyd Banks has revived his career better than almost any other rapper in recent history. How many rappers have fallen down to the point that they were almost irrelevant in the rap game and completely revived their career in a matter of a few years? I really can't think of any off the top of my head.

Since being dropped from Interscope Records in 2009, he has released 2 mixtapes and dropped the smash single "Beamer, Benz or Bentley". It seems like he took getting dropped as motivation and started making some hot tracks. Now it's rumored that Interscope wants him back. You gotta love those record label assholes. They have no shame.

His new album is tentatively titled "The Hunger for More 2" and is scheduled to drop on November 23, 2010. I'm a little sick of 50 Cent and G-Unit as a whole but I am definitely interested in hearing more from Banks. I always thought he was the best lyricist of the whole crew and with a little more production help this time around he should start selling some records again.

Damn! This shit is legit! I think Wiz Khalifa might be my favorite rapper right now. Kid is nice. He just keeps putting out quality material that's under the radar but he is building a nice little following for himself after putting in work for a few years.

There's nothing special going on here for the video of Bun B's new single "Countin' Money" but it gets the job done. I'm actually surprised this was the first single since there are so many good ass songs on the album but I'm sure Yo Gotti and Gucci Mane being featured had something to do with it.

The two joints with Drake ("Put It Down" and "It's Been a Pleasure") would have made more sense to help increase overall sales but I'm sure those might be released at some point anyway. Bun B probably wanted some real gangsta shit to set the album off right so I can't blame him for going with this one.

If you haven't purchased Bun B's new album "Trill OG" yet, you need to pick that shit up immediately. It's one of the best if not the best album of the year and it just received 5 mics from The Source.

I was listening to this the other day on the beach and I didn't need to hit fast-forward once. I just listened all the way through. I can't remember the last time I did that with an album. When it stopped, I literally got pissed because I wanted it to keep going. If that doesn't explain how good this album is, I don't know what else will.

Wow. This an intense video for an intense song. There's lots of emotions running wild all over this one. The combination of Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan is kind of random but it actually works for some reason. It's kind of tough to take Monaghan seriously as a tough guy since he played a hobbit in Lord of the Rings and he is kind of a small dude but he seems to be channeling his inner Charlie (LOST) to get that rock star anger out. Good ish.

Um, so I guess this is the full video for Kanye West's new single "Power". Where is the rest of it? It's only like a minute long. I'm so confused. I can't believe I stayed up to watch this last night when it premiered on MTV at 11 PM. I was falling asleep but fought to stay up since I'm a big fan of this song and wanted to see what Kanye would put together but I was severely disappointed.

I know he is trying to go the avante-garde, artsy route and shit but I really have no idea what's going on here and I really don't feel like wasting energy trying to figure it out. I'll admit that it's really cool imagery but you couldn't give us the full song? WTF!?!?

I did a little digging and found the song that Kanye sampled for this one. I thought it might be a Beatles sample when I first heard the song a few months ago but then I quickly realized that they would ask for way too much money so I figured it had to be someone else. The song is "21st Century Schizoid Man" by King Crimson.

Wale's highly anticipated mixtape More About Nothing is officially available. This is the sequel to the hugely popular The Mixtape About Nothing which released in 2008 and helped catapult him as one of the best up and coming rappers in the game.

I haven't heard the entire thing yet but from what I've heard, it's very solid. There are still a ton of Seinfeld quotes which is kind of random and slightly annoying to me since I hate that show but the material is on point. Just sick lyrics and dope beats.

I've been loving this "Get Big" track ever since I heard it a few months ago. There's something about Dorrough's music that gets me hyped the F*** up. He's not the best rapper by any means but he's got a cool voice and dope beats and sometimes that's good enough for me. I'm not looking for every rapper to be the next great lyricist. Just entertain me with some hot shit once in awhile.

I'm also a big fan of Dorrough's "Ice Cream Paint Job" that was pretty big last year. It's kind of simple and maybe even a little corny but it just works for me. That shit is catchy as hell!

"Got Your Back" is T.I.'s new single off of the King Uncaged album that's set to drop on September 28th. This is obviously the radio friendly, R&B flavored club hit that we have come to expect as the lead single from each of his past 3 albums.

It's not as good as "Live Your Life" and I don't expect it to be as big of a hit but it's still a decent song. I'm sure the ladies will like it and that's all that really matters for a single like this.

I'm sure the rest of the album will be a lot harder and satisfy the true T.I. fans. He's toned down his subject matter quite a bit because of the arrangement he had during his last jail sentence but according to a recent article I read in XXL, it sounds like he is ready to get back to the old T.I. sound. We shall see...

Slum Village ft. Colin Munroe - "Faster" (DOPE)

It's nice to see a solid underground group like Slum Village still making dope music after all these years. Record sales are down across the board and since they never sold a ton of records even at their height of popularity back in the mid 2000's, it would be easy for them to call it a day and try their hand at something other than music.

Luckily, they are still making that dope shit that true Hip Hop heads can appreciate. Their new track "Faster" is a little more on the commercial side with an R&B twist but it's still got that classic laid back Slum Village sound. I'll definitely be picking up a copy of their new album Villa Manifesto when it drops on July 27, 2010.

Chiddy Bang - "Opposite Of Adults" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Chiddy Bang's single "Opposite of Adults" has been around for a few months now but it's just starting to catch fire on the radio. It was officially released in the US back in April but the video has been around since February. The YouTube video already has 5+ million views which is pretty impressive for a song that is still fairly new to most listeners. The song actually caught on quicker in the UK when it was officially released there in February and made it all the way up to #8 on the singles charts.

The craziest part about the song is that it was originally released under the title "Kids" back in April of 2009. It's interesting to see a song linger around for that long and then finally catch on once enough people hear it. I guess that goes to prove that good music will eventually be heard by the masses if you have enough patience.

It's cool to see that these dudes are getting some recognition state side with their unique sound that meshes Hip Hop and laid back Rock with samples of bands such as Radiohead and MGMT. Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege is the dude who raps and Xaphoon Jones is the one making those dope beats. I think they are bringing something new to the table which is great for Hip Hop. I am addicted to "Opposites of Adults" right now and hope it doesn't get killed by radio play. I can't get enough of this video either. You can't go wrong with the big headed style. They were biting Ludacris' video for "Rollout" a little bit but I will let it slide since their video came out so good:

Chiddy Bang's other song "Truth" is pretty solid too. I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more from this duo. It sounds like their first official album Here We Go will drop in August.

I'm not sure how I feel about this new Fat Joe song "If It Ain't About Money". At first, it's mad annoying, Joe's flow is garbage and the beat is kind of weak and then all of a sudden Joe steps up the energy and Trey Songz comes in on the hook and it's actually a decent song. WTF just happened?!??!

It feels like two completely different songs mixed together or something. Shit threw me off. I think it's growing on me a little bit the more I hear it. I think this could be a decent single but I don't see it doing big numbers or being around for that long but I could be wrong. Thoughts?
