Trinity Quilters will have a regular all day sewing event on Monday, February 6, at the downtown site from 10am-2pm to work on Grace Place and Senior quilts.  There will also be an afternoon sewing time on Sunday, February 19, at the downtown site from 1-4pm.  Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to join the group to learn beginning skills or share their experience with others.

]]> http://trinityhudson.org/church/2012/02/01/volunteers-needed-2/feed/ 0 Call Committee Forums Update http://trinityhudson.org/church/2012/02/01/call-committee-forums-update-2/ http://trinityhudson.org/church/2012/02/01/call-committee-forums-update-2/#comments Wed, 01 Feb 2012 19:53:46 +0000 admin http://trinityhudson.org/church/?p=2673 Our Call committee has decided to invite two pastors, Pastor Dr. Mark Schulz, from Overland Park, Kansas, and Pastor Todd Stocker, Woodbury, MN, and their wives to Hudson for a two day acquaintance/interview in the process of determining who to call as our Associate Pastor.  We plan to give them a tour of the Hudson community, tour our facilities, and meet with our Board of Directors, our Board of Deacons and primary staff over a two day period.  We are planning a Congregational Forum at 7:00 pm the first evening of their visit to give members an opportunity to become familiar with them and their vision.

Pastor Schulz is scheduled to be here on Friday-Saturday, February 24-25 and Pastor Stocker is scheduled for Monday-Tuesday, March 5-6.  Thus the Congregational Forum in the sanctuary for Pastor Schulz will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 24th and for Pastor Stocker at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 5th.

Pastor Schulz and his wife, Nancy, have two daughters in their early 20’s.  Pastor and Nancy both graduated from Concordia, St Paul.  He has served churches in Omaha, NE, Itasca, IL, Lake Forest, IL and now in Overland Park, KS.

Pastor Stocker and his wife, Kellie, have a son and daughter in their mid-teens.  He has served churches in Woodbury, MN, Litchfield Park, AZ, and Houston, TX.  He also was Campus Pastor in Houston, now is at Concordia, St Paul, and has been preaching as a substitute for us since early fall.

A Congregational Call meeting is tentatively set for Sunday, March 25th

We would love to have you come with us. We know that is not possible for a lot of people now, so we have started a blog so you can go with us virtually. Every day that we have internet access we will post descriptions of what we saw and experienced that day with pictures and video. It won’t be quite like being there but we hope that you will be able to share our experience a little.

                 Trinity is experiencing some very exciting growth in our ministries. Hopefully, you have been able to hear about it at the Feasibility Forums that have taken place over the last two weeks.

                 At the same time as we have had this great need to expand and improve our facilities, though, we are also experiencing a shortfall of about $10,000 in our regular giving each month. A letter went out to everyone in their annual giving statements to explain this shortfall in more detail. Our leaders are confident that once everyone knows the need and the challenge that we will pull together and each do whatever we can to help keep our ministry and service to God continuing.

We are asking that all of our families consider increasing their giving as God enables them. With 400 families giving weekly, all we need is an increase of $25 per family a month… less than a Starbucks coffee per week.

We have gotten off to a good start. Someone donated $61,050 to pay off our line of credit.  And in just the few weeks that we have begun this appeal, other families have pledged over $1,977 per month toward our need of an additional $10,000 per month in the offerings.

Please pray about how you will participate in helping the mission continue and fill out the form that is inserted in the bulletin today, fold it, and put it in the offering or return it to one of the church offices. Thank you.
