It is basically about two brothers that has been touched by Supernatural activities and they now go to anywhere where there are strange things happening. Some people have even compare it to the x files but more intense.

In my opinion a must catch

So I admit I a not really a Sherlock Holmes follower, the first time I sat down to watch or look at anything to do with Sherlock Holmes was the latest movie which I really enjoyed. The interesting thing about the latest version to made by the BBC is that they bring Sherlock Holmes into today’s time and you kind of see him meeting Dr Watson but he has actually come back from a tour in the army.

At first I admit I missed it on TV however I caught it on BBC Iplayer and was originally put off by the length of the episode as it was an hour and half long and to me that sounded a little to long for a series type program but as I started to watch the episode the time seem to fly by, you just wanted to know what theories Holmes was going to come out with next.

So would I recommend watching it? Yeah even if your not interest in murder mysterious or the Sherlock Holmes stories I would recommend checking it out and seeing what you think of it because I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Why do I blog?

Well if the truth be known I don’t actually know. The blogs have become a bit patchy of late due to no urgency to do them but thinking back over the time I have been blogging the reason for doing it has changed. When I first came up with the idea to blog it was something to use up a hosting package that I had bought to practice something that I was doing in my degree and that was web design. I kind of did a few things before moving into blogging on here but nothing really took off, then I saw all the bloggers out there that made money and thought why not?

So I setup the blog in order to make money, however if your thinking about that now I wouldn’t because unless you’ve got something unique your not going to make enough traffic in order to make it profitable, there are odd people that do make it but you need a following and being unique gets you that. Not saying that I don’t get traffic I just don’t get enough to make money.

So why do I carry on doing it?

Well the truth is I do as something to do I can go weeks without wanting to do it or I can go weeks with posting a blog post everyday, its really depending on how I feel, it is mostly away of letting off steam about stuff in the news and technology. Although must admit it has got me through some tough times, due to the fact it was something else to focus on.

Would I say a Blogs a good thing to have?

Definitely its some where you can voice your opinions on something or help people with stuff they don’t understand, the web always give you an out to other people that are liked minded so why not give it ago and see what happens specially if you decide to get your own domain submit it to google and just see what happens.

Was really looking forward to this film but never got chance to in the cinema, if I’m honest it wasn’t what I was expecting as there wasn’t a lot of rugby in the film. It was a political statement and how Nelson Mandela used the rugby team in order to unite South Africa. It is set in a time where the colour of your skin would dictate who you could speak to and the jobs you could do.

All in all it was a good film but if your looking for a Rugby film this film is probably not the one for you. If your looking for a political film that shows you Nelson Mandela at work with the insight on how to use sport to close gaps in society it is definitely for you. I wouldn’t write this film off as it is an interesting film just not quite what is build.

Well what to say Tweetdeck is an application for Twitter that helps you keep up to date with everything you want on Twitter. It really has made me consider twitter in a different way and want to use it. The look into Twitter Applications was brought on by my new found interest in Ubuntu and its new social networking adaptations.

The application in Ubuntu is called Gwibber and to be fair to Gwibber it does a really good job however Tweetdeck runs on all operating systems and you can sign up to it to keep all your columns meaning you log in on multiple machines and you will have the same thing without having to manually add them to each machine.

I feel at home with Tweetdeck just a word of warning be careful what search columns you have because I had one for the World Cup and I get 100 tweets coming every 2 minutes.

Try it and see: http://www.tweetdeck.com/

For years now people have said they will give you an emailed service for a set amount of money, which nobody really thought of due to the fact these plans were normally quiet expensive. Now in the data hungry world that we find ourselves in unlimited plans have now dropped in price and everyone has unlimited something and companies are fighting back.

You can look at broadband for instance the only ISPs that offer an unlimited option all be subject to fair usage is BT and O2. When Tiscali got taken over by Talk Talk that was the first thing Talk Talk did was get rid of the unlimited stance and replace it with an allowance.

Now O2 customers of the phone variety could be having a shock O2 plan on removing the unlimited stamp on their mobile Internet with the launch of the IPhone 4. They are planning on doing this in order to build a faster network.

What do you think good or bad?

Source: http://beta.globaltelecomsbusiness.com/Article/2594142/O2-ends-unlimited-data-plan-for-smartphones.html

Update

O2 aren’t even being competitive with their pricing for example 10mb on 3 is £2.50 and 1gb is £5 o2 want £10 for 1gb

Now lets be honest in the world we live in today, with all the emphasis of cutting costs trying to lower the debt that our country is in this is a good place to start. Scrapping the ID scheme means the on going development cost will be saving the government millions of pounds.

Although it will be saving money is it helping us however, I know that people were concerned about privacy issues and the fact someone’s whole identity was on one card but I myself was looking forward to these cards. My reasons are I don’t hold a drivers licence or a passport and don’t think I will any time soon. I hold a Citizen Card however you can guarantee that no matter where we go I’ve got to kick up a fuss to how old I am. The ID cards for me would solve this issue.

The other annoyance about them scrapping the scheme is the fact the people that already have the cards will not be getting a refund.

However I bit the bullet with the film being on bluray for £6. I was pleasantly surprised with the movie as I wasn’t expecting much from it. I felt that the movie had the right balance of action and storyline. You could even read further into the story line and consider that in the future gaming could become similar to what was in this movie.

I would recommend seeing this film especially at such a low price. I’m glad it is part of my collection

According to the Washington Post there has been an increase in spyware that has been able to infect Macs and cause some concern. While reading this article I started to think about the operating systems them selves and the fact that as a base both Linux and Mac are the same sort of operating system as they are both based on Unix.

Reading the article the conclusion is that you theory you shouldn’t be worried about spyware and viruses for your Mac just yet because there are so few out there it doesn’t warrant the expense of running an anti-virus. Now this seems a bit odd however thinking about how Linux works as I haven’t had any experience of a Mac I could understand it. Unlike Microsoft’s operating system Windows. Linux does not seem to be able to suffer drive by downloads, or infections of that nature as everything that is downloaded or copied to the machine never has the ability to execute on your system straight off the bat.

What does that mean?

It means that yes the infectious file could be downloaded and be store on your system somewhere but unlike windows it would not be able to run without you setting it be able to run and install.

I know there will become a time where users of Macs and Linux will have to think about security a little more however for the time being I do believe both users are safe for the time being as long as they are only installing programs that they trust. The increase in spyware though for the Mac format does show that Mac is growing against Windows for people to take the time to write the spyware for the alternative operating system.

I thought I’d would comment on something a little less serious and according to a new study done by Peter Rogers from Bristol University Coffee holds no benefits to you in the morning. Peter Rogers said:

Although frequent consumers feel alerted by caffeine, especially by their morning tea, coffee, or other caffeine-containing drink, evidence suggests that this is actually merely the reversal of the fatiguing effects of acute caffeine withdrawal.

The more a came to think about it the more sense it made. I know for me personally the longest time I go without a caffeine containing drink is when I sleep so by the time I have woken up if I have had the full 8 hours surely I’ll be going through a withdrawal period.

So as an experiment for the next week starting today as I haven’t had anything to drink yet I will be trying to avoid caffeine drinks and see whether I actually feel better.
