So today apparently was just not my day... I went in to work on my day off to attempt to achieve a recert for some friends and a couple of my staff. After driving from the far side of the city at the crack of dawn to the Waterpark, I changed into my teaching clothes and proceeded to make coffee then I walked back to my office to finish organizing only to discover that I had locked my keys in my damned office.

Over 9700 School Children Participate in Inaugural KidSport™ Day in Alberta

December 1, 2009. On September 18, 2009, 43 Alberta schools participated in the inaugural KidSport Day. As a result of this initiative, 9761 participants from K-9 across the province participated in a modified version of Athletics Canada’s Run, Jump, Throw program. The Run, Jump, Throw program emphasizes basic physical activity and movement skills in an easy to execute curriculum. This was the largest one-day Run, Jump, Throw event held in Alberta in 2009.

The following amendment to the Swimming Pool, Wading Pool and Water Spray Park Regulation (AR 293/2006) went into affect on November 6, 2009. It is advised that the "responsible person" at your facility review and revise your current practices and polices on microbiological sampling.

The Town of Provost is constructing a large multi-purpose recreation facility, and is looking for information from communities that are currently operating similar multi-purpose recreation facilities. The Town of Provost would like to know what other communities use as standards for hours of operation, staffing requirements, user fees (e.g. walking track), staff wages, operating expenses, etc.
