Pop (that’s what I call my father-in-law) took a long rope, threw it over a high tree branch, tied a sack of chicken feed around the end of it, and let the kids swing on it. Gavin might have never stopped, but the rope was a bit rough, and it started hurting his hands.

Monica went to New Orleans with her step-mom and sister today. I agreed to watch the kids. We had a really great time together. We spent the morning playing in the back yard and on the back porch, and the afternoon and evening at my father-in-laws house, with him and my sister-in-law’s two daughters. They played outside most of the time there, too.

It was a good day.

An hour or so after the show was over, she was sitting with me on the couch, painting with Colors! on my Nintendo DS. After painting for a bit, she showed me this.

Wow! I was very proud of her memory and artistic skills, and had to show Mom. And you. :)

I’ve really been enjoying working in strictly black and white.

Playing around with liquid ink and conte crayon in Corel Painter.

I arranged this song for my Mom. It was one of our favorite songs when I was a kid. I composed the instrumentation using Xewton Music Studio on my iPod Touch, and overlaid my voice, including harmonies, using Garageband and the built in microphone on my Macbook.

I’ve been totally inspired by the graphic novel Three Shadows lately.
