A PLEA TO ALLAH: TAFSIR OF SURAH AL-MUJADALAH

At the outset of this surah mention a woman pleads with the Prophet (saw) about her husband and urged him to suggest a way out of the difficult situation.

Surah Mujadalah is a surah which is short, yet full of wisdom. The Quran declares in several places that family matters have great importance in the sight of Allah and it is reiterated in this surah for all those who believe.

This surah is concerned with:
• Family life.
• Social etiquettes such a etiquettes of sitting in gatherings and the disapproval of whispering amongst two people in front of others.
• Pointing out the criterion of sincerity of faith which the righteous believers should observe.

Shaykh Adil Rehman
Shaykh Mohammed Adil Rehman has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from London as well a Diploma in Arabic Language and a Bachelors degree in Usul ad-Din and Usul al-Fiqh from the Institut Europeen des Sciences, France. Having completed his studies in France Shaykh Adil Rehman continued his studies at the Markfield Institute of Higher Education, Leicester completing his MA in Islamic Banking, Finance and Management and MSc in Global Politics from the University of London. He is currently applying for a PhD in Islamic Political Philosophy. Shaykh Adil Rehman has been involved with Muslim youth work in the UK and Europe for a number of years and is currently the President of the Forum of European Muslim Youth & Student Organisations (FEMYSO), headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. In addition to this he also teaches short courses in Arabic and Islamic Sciences at various institutions.

Imam Yassir was born in Eritrea in Northeast Africa and moved to the United States at the age of 15. He has a Bachelors Degree in Islamic Studies from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Virginia; and received a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counselling from the California State University of Long Beach. Imam Yassir serves as the Religious Leader of Orange County Islamic Foundation (OCIF) in Mission Viejo, California. He is also the Director of Mental Health Department at Access California Social Services Agency in Anaheim.

Imam Yassir is listed on the "Who is Who among America's Teachers" where the best students choose their best teachers and was recently featured on the Today Show on "Spirituality in America". He was one of the co-hosts of weekly “WiseLiving” TV program and a regular guest speaker on Peace TV.

With the large number of divorces within our ummah, Eternal Ties aims to reduce these by providing support for people of different backgrounds with one goal of jannah and seeking only the pleasure of Allah swt. By upholding ties of kinship, working towards a marriage destined for both worlds. Our services will be for reverts, single individuals, married couples, divorcees and families.

This will be consisting of a platform for practicing individuals to find a spouse in a halaal manner, a range of services, including workshops and seminars in relation to marriage and relationships with Allah SWT, Families and the community.

Our main objectives are to revive marriages that are easy to conduct, cost effective, feasible, a humble act of ibadaah for the sake of Allah alone. It is of key importance we work hard to change the thinking of our society in particular building understanding for our parents and bridging gaps between cultures and islam, tackling issues that individuals face daily that act as a barrier for marriage.

We aim to work with different mosques, shuyookh of different schools of thought, Islamic organizations and individuals with specialist skills and be an umbrella offering various services catering to the needs of the people in order to work towards a stronger society through building stronger family units inshaAllah Ta’ala.
