Pumpkins are my favorite! The bright orange & playful pumpkins make me want to make things. I only have a small piece of this fabric left & it is one of my favorites. So, I made a pair of pin cushions to display in my sewing room & they have been bringing smiles....all day!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4K54s-HrJCY/YUn4anETLzI/AAAAAAAALdQ/jUrIwaUUmxMW6uR-BLRp6efl_xIDMXoGwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/Pumpkins2021-04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1684" data-original-width="2048" height="526" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4K54s-HrJCY/YUn4anETLzI/AAAAAAAALdQ/jUrIwaUUmxMW6uR-BLRp6efl_xIDMXoGwCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h526/Pumpkins2021-04.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div>I modified the Tilda pattern to insert a stem & added leaves. This one, is perfect to hold 8-9" scissors. It is made much like my smaller version for embroidery scissors. <p></p><p><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D8LN89ZXgCc/YUkAM9sPcEI/AAAAAAAALcY/FBNYf-UHLKAqghxGAPon-3ndR3N47cVUgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/EtsyPIC07.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D8LN89ZXgCc/YUkAM9sPcEI/AAAAAAAALcY/FBNYf-UHLKAqghxGAPon-3ndR3N47cVUgCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h480/EtsyPIC07.jpg" width="640" /></a></p><p>I am a collector of scissors & it wasn't intentional. I use my rotary cutter quite often while I'm preparing a project for sewing but sometimes I reach for scissors instead. And never mind the fact, that those rotary cutters still freak me out. I have seen many a terrible accident with them & I'm always as careful as ever when I use mine. But scissors are just so much a part of the creative process for me whether I'm using paper or fabric.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c7DELxTmuB8/YUkKlBT_b5I/AAAAAAAALcg/1oMNxYxXB908pjsFlz8Fska_h8GbkJq0gCLcBGAsYHQ/s2000/EtsyPIC11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="2000" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c7DELxTmuB8/YUkKlBT_b5I/AAAAAAAALcg/1oMNxYxXB908pjsFlz8Fska_h8GbkJq0gCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h480/EtsyPIC11.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>My patterns are always tested several times to be sure all is well, which leaves me several samples usually. An old, hand me down pair of 9" pinking scissors are going to live in one of them. And my singer scissors can go in another, because they seem to be my on the go pair.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DN6eT60M2vI/YUkMn2Bij9I/AAAAAAAALco/UMVL3_5xviMS2dKyV83uSp_3NOOzfQCrQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1200/LRGScissorStraw01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="884" data-original-width="1200" height="472" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DN6eT60M2vI/YUkMn2Bij9I/AAAAAAAALco/UMVL3_5xviMS2dKyV83uSp_3NOOzfQCrQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h472/LRGScissorStraw01.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>I really hope you try my pattern & if you have already made the smaller version....You will have no problem with this one. </p><p>The pattern calls for Pellon Fusible Fleece for the outside panels. You can quilt or not, but the points of the scissors are always protected in a nice cushioned case. No worries of stabbing you or your bag....just ask me how I know that one. And since I have recently switched to only buying zippers BTY, I include that in the pattern now. I almost always use a nylon zip but using BTY just makes sense because there's no waste. In the pattern, I list the pre-measured size & the cut size for BTY. </p><p>Both patterns are great scrap projects & don't take much time to make. They are so very handy to have when a pair needs to travel. </p><p>Happy Sewing!</p>susiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16965547901938131489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3489238936372661544.post-41291665598146828462021-03-25T15:55:00.001-04:002021-09-20T17:29:21.665-04:00Candle Jars - Re-Purposed<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X23HdbMBhoc/YUj5m-a6byI/AAAAAAAALcA/CdMiWsSglkAu9DBVfz59KsbAd0GPAEmQwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2000/ScrappyJars01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1333" data-original-width="2000" height="426" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X23HdbMBhoc/YUj5m-a6byI/AAAAAAAALcA/CdMiWsSglkAu9DBVfz59KsbAd0GPAEmQwCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h426/ScrappyJars01.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It is surprising what a little fabric and paint can do to an ordinay jar.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love candles and buy them all through the year. While I'm out holiday shopping, I have tendencies to stash a few for myself. Just love that little flicker in the evening & always have one lit in my kitchen, so cozy! </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love trying new makers too, the scents, colors, names and the container make me want to try them. These small jars were once candles, I held onto them for the longest before I lit them. The jars were just so cute, I of course had to save them.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The other day....the mood struck me and off I went to gather things. I had a leftover can of spray paint from a summertime-table project. Plenty of fabric scraps, a bit of elmer's glue... I was set. I love how they turned out!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
They sit on my sewing table & hold the tinier do-dads, I use for sewing pouches and bags. Small magnet closures, snaps, buttons and the like are right at my reach in sweet little happy jars.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I3P51px7dgE/YUj6HnC3ErI/AAAAAAAALcI/PQOYr6-d3Jo0q3tuR3LGGivyqD6eqB0lQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2000/ScrappyJars02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1641" data-original-width="2000" height="526" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I3P51px7dgE/YUj6HnC3ErI/AAAAAAAALcI/PQOYr6-d3Jo0q3tuR3LGGivyqD6eqB0lQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h526/ScrappyJars02.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">So, save those jars and reuse them. When/If you tire of them, the second hand store will get a bit of your creativity that will give again, making someone else smile!</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Happy Creating!</div>

A fun little make, that I sized especially for my 'Happy Bag' pattern. <p></p><p>The Patchwork Heart uses 1 1/2" squares & finishes at 4 1/2". It's the perfect little square to add to the front of the bag. I had so much fun making these & using up squares from my jar.</p><p>Whenever I sew something, I make sure to include a stack of squares from those scraps. It is such fun to get that jar down, from the shelf from time to time. A great memory jar of all the things made in the past.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nNNUiUgxssI/YC1D5NjxvLI/AAAAAAAALCA/BlMGs3saGZMaVpNbqSNJbG-8lOe_6VvUgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2000/HeartBagUpdateETSY03.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1908" data-original-width="2000" height="381" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nNNUiUgxssI/YC1D5NjxvLI/AAAAAAAALCA/BlMGs3saGZMaVpNbqSNJbG-8lOe_6VvUgCLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h381/HeartBagUpdateETSY03.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mdwICH0ksbo/YC1HmBeXafI/AAAAAAAALCM/A7n8CyjQLcYicNqJ7Z71IBL4pIjv--jkQCPcBGAYYCw/s1272/SMHearts01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1234" data-original-width="1272" height="388" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mdwICH0ksbo/YC1HmBeXafI/AAAAAAAALCM/A7n8CyjQLcYicNqJ7Z71IBL4pIjv--jkQCPcBGAYYCw/w400-h388/SMHearts01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>In One Afternoon, I made 2 drawstring bags with heart centers & made them opposite. About 3 or 4 years ago, I found a decorative pair for stitching, on Etsy. They are still as sharp as the day I got them. Needless to say, I bought another pair so I could have one at my machine & another for on the go. <div><br /></div><div>I just love them but I've been stabbed once or twice by those pointy tips. Especially, when I throw a pair in a bag to do some stitching in the evenings. Rummaging thru my bag those pointy tips, find my hand every time. I guess it isn't good for them to be around all the thread & my work in progress either. So, I made a scissor case for them & liked it so much, I created a pattern.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UOKwjOZViwk/YCrzsIWV8qI/AAAAAAAALA8/pfaatkx3an8zbdJkQCDP2oHf2z_LmX6YgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1594/EtsyPICS01%2B-%2BCopy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1396" data-original-width="1594" height="560" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UOKwjOZViwk/YCrzsIWV8qI/AAAAAAAALA8/pfaatkx3an8zbdJkQCDP2oHf2z_LmX6YgCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h560/EtsyPICS01%2B-%2BCopy.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><br /><div>In the pattern, I illustrate how to make one and give lots of instructions. It is a really simple make with one zipper install. If you've sewn things with zippers, you'll have no problem. And if not....I show you how. Easy, you'll be sewing zippers in everything before you know it. I've made several and plan to make many more because they use up all my scrap fabric and make great little gifts. Even for people, like my daughter... who doesn't sew, carries a pair in her bag. Usually after working on a project, I'll go thru all the scraps & cut a bunch to put in the jar. They're all stacked & for the most part in color relation. I will particularly cut some from fabrics I will want to remember, years down the road. It makes for a nice reminiscent jar & I had some fun with it today, making hearts for a project. </p><p>Here's how I made them & stay tuned for how I used them.</p><p>Gather 14 Prints/Solids & 10 White (Background) 1-1/2" Squares<br />Place the squares in an order that suits you. Make 3 rows, 4 each & 2 centered for the 4th row. To make things easier, I made an illustrated instruction sheet. Just download & follow on your tablet or print out. <span style="color: #cc0000;"><i><a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pN-s-4VLODqxXqDzNY3Q5eawSxflIca1/view?usp=sharing" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Patchwork Heart</a></i></span> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">ENJOY! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EQQW_QOToos/YAT9If_xMWI/AAAAAAAAKwE/kBfWLUPyX4YPM-4yoJta92-E-JGvvB3awCLcBGAsYHQ/s1520/SMHearts08.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1472" data-original-width="1520" height="620" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EQQW_QOToos/YAT9If_xMWI/AAAAAAAAKwE/kBfWLUPyX4YPM-4yoJta92-E-JGvvB3awCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h620/SMHearts08.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p><br />susiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16965547901938131489noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3489238936372661544.post-14160013770584002492020-12-21T13:07:00.001-05:002020-12-21T13:11:14.407-05:00Little Happy Bag pattern<p style="text-align: center;"> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gCYNSMYQu68/X-DWourCalI/AAAAAAAAKkM/wWw7SWpgPo0U4LI-ElQUdzU7s83-KNpVQCPcBGAYYCw/s1748/LHBag-Santa02-Blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1514" data-original-width="1748" height="554" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gCYNSMYQu68/X-DWourCalI/AAAAAAAAKkM/wWw7SWpgPo0U4LI-ElQUdzU7s83-KNpVQCPcBGAYYCw/w640-h554/LHBag-Santa02-Blog.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p>I wanted to share an idea for a bag front, using my pattern 'Little Happy Bag'. </p><p>I have recently been completely captivated with cross stitch. This guy has been sitting & waiting for ten years or so, in my pinterest pins. So, one day, instead of doing all the things I was supposed to do....I had a wonderful time stitching him. I made the wreath around him as I went along. And changed some thread colors, to what I had on hand. So, that tells me...that I have gotten comfortable with this cross stitching adventure. This is only my second make and the other is still not finished. Oh My...<br />He is not perfect but makes me happy & the whole time I was stitching....I knew it was going to be a bag front. </p><p>So here it is!</p><p>I cut 4 Strips from Outer Fabric to frame the stitching. The art measures 3" on this one & I allowed 1/2" or so all the way around. I sewed my side strips on first, then the top & bottom using a 1/2" SA. Pressed & Top Stitched.</p><p>Once, stitching is framed, cut panel to the original size per the pattern. Be sure to center the stitching Left-to-Right before cutting. My measures will place the stitching lower than center Top-to-Bottom. If you want the stitching centered both ways adjust the measure for top & bottom strips. <br />Continue with the pattern to complete your bag.<br /><br />CUT<br />2 -Sides - 3"w X 4-1/4"h <br />2 -Top & Bottom - 8-1/2"w X 3-1/4"h </p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JU6F3RU_MAY/X-Dg0ZIiYVI/AAAAAAAAKkw/IdUcjqpCUIU-MNQMkSIKSx9ADrkGazW9gCLcBGAsYHQ/s200/NeedleArt-BLOG.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="125" data-original-width="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JU6F3RU_MAY/X-Dg0ZIiYVI/AAAAAAAAKkw/IdUcjqpCUIU-MNQMkSIKSx9ADrkGazW9gCLcBGAsYHQ/s0/NeedleArt-BLOG.png" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R1ntANyHxno/X-DdfsIhXEI/AAAAAAAAKkg/OxOwVJnMrMEEA9sN_iaynymY-D3gqOGQACLcBGAsYHQ/s1200/Santa2020-01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1015" data-original-width="1200" height="542" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R1ntANyHxno/X-DdfsIhXEI/AAAAAAAAKkg/OxOwVJnMrMEEA9sN_iaynymY-D3gqOGQACLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h542/Santa2020-01.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1EbjcwosK7c/X-DdrZt-HNI/AAAAAAAAKkk/ZtP_Rlrph7Q2EP-cgQXO3HCCHHXFWb8hwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1808/LHBag-Santa03-Blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1504" data-original-width="1808" height="532" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1EbjcwosK7c/X-DdrZt-HNI/AAAAAAAAKkk/ZtP_Rlrph7Q2EP-cgQXO3HCCHHXFWb8hwCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h532/LHBag-Santa03-Blog.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>I totally enjoyed making this bag & will probably make more because I just have sooo many ideas.</p><p>Enjoy!</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IHWUdXIAnnk/X-DYD3sVQAI/AAAAAAAAKkU/cUyW3ohgVFwO__4zwwck0mEbWnvSlh3ywCLcBGAsYHQ/s2000/LHBag-01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1800" data-original-width="2000" height="288" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IHWUdXIAnnk/X-DYD3sVQAI/AAAAAAAAKkU/cUyW3ohgVFwO__4zwwck0mEbWnvSlh3ywCLcBGAsYHQ/w320-h288/LHBag-01.png" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Get My Pattern - Little Happy Bag - Etsy - Link on sidebar & at the top.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i><span style="color: #cc0000;"><br /></span></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i><span style="color: #cc0000;"><br /></span></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i><span style="color: #cc0000;">Cross Stitch - Inspired by - Merry Christmas Book by Marie Anne Rethoret-Melin</span></i></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p>susiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16965547901938131489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3489238936372661544.post-51736646472980220942020-11-30T17:42:00.004-05:002020-12-03T15:05:12.868-05:00Popcorn Fun & more - New Patterns in my shop<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5UwLduR-lc0/X8Vix0_konI/AAAAAAAAKcw/bDNL1UeANA0ftaLemj1zHNTxlAdbfujJwCLcBGAsYHQ/s792/Pop01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="612" data-original-width="792" height="496" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5UwLduR-lc0/X8Vix0_konI/AAAAAAAAKcw/bDNL1UeANA0ftaLemj1zHNTxlAdbfujJwCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h496/Pop01.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">Fun Holiday stitching is underway in my studio. Some fun little mousey designs to embroider on pillows, pouches or make into wall hangings. </span></div><p></p><p>I design the PDF patterns for a full picture scenerio but they are easily manupulated. You can stitch the design in parts, choosing only what you need for your project. I've had lots of feedback on this and it seems to be a favorite feature of my patterns. I like to use the crayon coloring method on mine too but that is totally optional. My designs include full size patterns, thread & crayon color charts & full instructions. - My patterns <b>do not</b> instruct how to stitch but do include the most basic of stitches. They are PDF format only, so you will receive the pattern as soon as you place the paid order.</p><p>Just added to the shop are...2 holiday & 2 summery patterns and I'm busy making some secret little giftys with them.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-feA1I-YoBoI/X8gNJvJowaI/AAAAAAAAKfo/QZxp1jJ6easok-16A7xSAg0hGy6C_H2DQCLcBGAsYHQ/s792/INSTAMRKT-TeaPopcorn01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="612" data-original-width="792" height="494" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-feA1I-YoBoI/X8gNJvJowaI/AAAAAAAAKfo/QZxp1jJ6easok-16A7xSAg0hGy6C_H2DQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h494/INSTAMRKT-TeaPopcorn01.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><i style="text-align: left;">A glimpse of Cozy Tea & Popcorn Fun are shown above & below are Raspberry Lemonade & Cherry Pickin'.</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7IxMhkn_3Q/X8gJlPeGWmI/AAAAAAAAKfc/fqtm8UXP2_gl8XhViTFumdLI_l7X6U1ZwCLcBGAsYHQ/s792/INSTAMRKT-RaspCherry01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="612" data-original-width="792" height="494" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7IxMhkn_3Q/X8gJlPeGWmI/AAAAAAAAKfc/fqtm8UXP2_gl8XhViTFumdLI_l7X6U1ZwCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h494/INSTAMRKT-RaspCherry01.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">I sure hope you enjoy stitching them....Find them in my Etsy Shop -Link at Top & Sidebar.</span></div><p>Happy Stitching!</p>susiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16965547901938131489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3489238936372661544.post-29788139053626451142020-08-20T19:28:00.004-04:002020-08-20T19:28:52.841-04:00New Pattern - New Bag<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-naJssf0Fg5k/Xz70v_WVHWI/AAAAAAAAKL8/SLiOAWOuEOIkDyu8SfzdvysqmWQKsW9LwCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/3inaROW-820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1415" data-original-width="2048" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-naJssf0Fg5k/Xz70v_WVHWI/AAAAAAAAKL8/SLiOAWOuEOIkDyu8SfzdvysqmWQKsW9LwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/3inaROW-820.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The pdf pattern for my Little Nicki Bag is finally done & available in my Etsy Shop.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This was a fun pattern to work on, even though it took a long time, to get it all together.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I designed this bag to carry all my many projects from place to place. <a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CIZZ4XVRc2o/XqM03be9dRI/AAAAAAAAJ54/5bstxMiNim8qM5SXhepvN3yxFxPiEntjgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/LHBags-Pinks02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1578" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CIZZ4XVRc2o/XqM03be9dRI/AAAAAAAAJ54/5bstxMiNim8qM5SXhepvN3yxFxPiEntjgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/LHBags-Pinks02.jpg" width="628" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I've been sewing more little happy bags. I'm sort of in a pink mode, maybe girly....oh bother....I just love pink! I'm making the bags for Mother's Day, to send to sisters, friends & of course Mom. We usually have a little get-together at Mom's but I suppose this year that will not happen. I am still going to see my Mom....just won't hug her, <i>(coronavirus adjustments) </i>instead I'll fill a bag with a little happy & hugs. Homemade cookies comes to mind!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yF2OUQ2bUYk/XqM2LhaOIAI/AAAAAAAAJ6Q/fCc_15-kg00V6FZm7uI_IHp1--E5NcVpACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/LHB-Pattern01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1321" data-original-width="1600" height="528" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yF2OUQ2bUYk/XqM2LhaOIAI/AAAAAAAAJ6Q/fCc_15-kg00V6FZm7uI_IHp1--E5NcVpACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/LHB-Pattern01.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These bags really sew up quickly and are layer cake friendly. You won't need mush fabric at all. The pattern calls for fusible fleece for the outer panels & it works perfectly to help them stand proud. I used cording, ribbon and a t-shirt fabric for the drawstrings so far. and.... I didn't have any beads other than the dark wooden ones....so I made some from clay.<br />
My kind of project....homemade for the win!<br />

<br />
I've been busy sewing this Spring and I made a little happy bag. It's great for special little things, like carrots...just kidding. I stitched them up awhile ago and had them displayed in a bowl for Easter. But I thought they looked real cute with the bag.<br />
<br />
The bag has been in pattern writing stage for far too long & with some extra time here lately, I decided it was time to get it done. I am very happy with it and have sewn several. They are just so quick & easy & the best part is selecting all the fun fabrics. I'll be making several more for Mother's Day & filling them with a little happy for friends & sisters and of course Mom.<br />
<br />
The pattern shows 2 styles but actually there are so many more. Like the one shown here, I didn't add the handles. I have another ready for patchwork & quilting. So many possibilities!<br />
You can find the pdf pattern in my Etsy Shop....links are on the top & sidebar.<br />

<br />
<br />
I will be sewing some things this Spring, using AdornIt Fabrics. I was sent a whole stack of these awesome small checks, the colors are very saturated and the feel is silky. A real pleasure to sew with!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UAYYNCNPDlI/Xl6mNSDaYvI/AAAAAAAAJv0/LJNucnaZWtgslwj90mwfKcBcL-WWDDGHgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/TildaPinCush-FabricPull.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="910" data-original-width="1200" height="302" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UAYYNCNPDlI/Xl6mNSDaYvI/AAAAAAAAJv0/LJNucnaZWtgslwj90mwfKcBcL-WWDDGHgCLcBGAsYHQ/s400/TildaPinCush-FabricPull.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
To kick off my sewing this Spring, I pulled 4 choices from the stack and got my Tilda template out to make a pin cushion. A little sew like this, always gets my creativity going. <br />
And the little bunny?...I had a clay day a few weeks ago....really want Spring to come I think...;) I made several for push pins, magnets and plant stakes...I'll show you those another day.... I have my hands in many things at one time ...again.<br />
<br />

<span style="color: red; font-size: large;"><b>Strawberry</b></span><span style="color: #444444;"> Makin' Today!</span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #444444;">I had visions of strawberries all over my work table and wala...there they are. I love making them in </span><b><i><span style="color: #e06666;">pinks</span></i></b><span style="color: #444444;"> and </span><span style="color: red;"><b>reds</b></span><span style="color: #444444;">. These were made with the sweetest little berry pattern and you won't need much fabric either, which always makes for a nice, easy & fast project.</span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I still need to cut fabric for sashing and the binding but I put that aside and made more pink berries! That's the best part of strawberry making...they're so fast, the ideas just keep coming...make a few or make a few more ;)</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7OOqqar_Auo/XNXmoA0jpwI/AAAAAAAAI7s/vQumpFNYO6E8u843gaG9snETL9MP0qpJACPcBGAYYCw/s1600/Strawberry-Begin-blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="982" data-original-width="1200" height="522" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7OOqqar_Auo/XNXmoA0jpwI/AAAAAAAAI7s/vQumpFNYO6E8u843gaG9snETL9MP0qpJACPcBGAYYCw/s640/Strawberry-Begin-blog.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #444444;">The pattern calls for 9 strawberry blocks to make the mini & mine will be 'pink!' </span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;">So, 6 pink berries are done for the mini but I put that aside and went onto making another mat....</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kNe99zvBD84/XSz0gin8tAI/AAAAAAAAJM8/R53Jw2LKCgcAFTYOtXAXJ4c-0ZIkHQGSgCLcBGAs/s1600/StrawberryMAT01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1027" data-original-width="1200" height="546" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kNe99zvBD84/XSz0gin8tAI/AAAAAAAAJM8/R53Jw2LKCgcAFTYOtXAXJ4c-0ZIkHQGSgCLcBGAs/s640/StrawberryMAT01.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
....A scrappy mat with a little strawberry center --not in the pattern-- just from playing with my scrap bowls. Free style sewing, with various widths & lengths bordered this little berry.<br />
I made the berry slightly smaller, squared it up with white and then added scrap pieces to border it, a sort of 'log cabin' method. Coasters are in the works also and possibly a bag or two. I really love making these and can tell you, it isn't easy to make just one.<br />
<br />

Busy getting carrot noses stitched on to these snowman blocks. This quilt top has been sitting and waiting patiently. I just might get this one done for this year. Winter here is almost over but we had snow again today, February is supposed to be that way. March is soon to come and always brings a bit of surprise.<br />

I got some clay out and started dabbling with it. I made these fun pin toppers....because I just love carrots. For some reason carrots & pumpkins draw me in, it's got to be the color....so cheery!<br />
I'll be sharing some other makes soon and some new pin topper ideas.<br />

They are the perfect size skein for a beginner- dabbler like me. I really don't want to have a ton of yarn to store. My sewing room isn't big enough for all the things I love in large doses. Just a taste will do just fine. As a beginner, yarn sizes and colors were needed to experiment with & to get an idea of how everything worked. So, these small skeins are simply perfect for me!<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
I've been making small bowls & baskets to use on my cutting table to hold maybe some tools or small bits of fabric. Coasters will be scattered about because I cannot have enough of those. It's possible by the next winter, I will be busy working on a throw in my lap....but. Right now, the small projects are fulfilling that creative desire to make something.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Can you tell...I may be a bit happy about this find! I love finding new pretties...just makes me happy!<br />
<br />
...til next time....be happy creating what you love.<br />

<br />
I'm in love with cotton yarns and learning how to crochet finally! Something I've always wanted to do but hadn't taken the time to explore, until now.<br />
My sewing room is still all packed away, waiting for a make-over & I needed to make something. So, what a perfect time to learn and play with some yarn! I am learning just the basics and was so surprised, at how easy it is to crochet. Basic stitches, like the single crochet, makes this adorable bunny...I found the tut on YouTube & used the 24/7 yarn-Aqua for them.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DUukBjZGHvE/WPT-zeTkyXI/AAAAAAAAHvk/QU8moLKwJJ8zUjzk9psbZqFKVYuzWKHLwCLcB/s1600/Bunnychubby01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DUukBjZGHvE/WPT-zeTkyXI/AAAAAAAAHvk/QU8moLKwJJ8zUjzk9psbZqFKVYuzWKHLwCLcB/s400/Bunnychubby01.jpg" width="327" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
There is an Easter egg pattern too and similar to the body of this pattern. They were fun and easy to make and just perfect for starters. I seem to be more attracted to the cotton yarns more than others. Exploring different options, I found some that I will be trying. I love the colors of the DROPS Design Yarns. The website is a lot of fun too! Patterns and tutorials to explore.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JG23RyF1Yow/WPTL6-wiIvI/AAAAAAAAHuo/741EJ1QIseY-gG3933HmJbj5FE8qywyXgCEw/s1600/Cotton%2BYarnParis04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JG23RyF1Yow/WPTL6-wiIvI/AAAAAAAAHuo/741EJ1QIseY-gG3933HmJbj5FE8qywyXgCEw/s400/Cotton%2BYarnParis04.jpg" width="257" /></a><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GywntYG4GzE/WPUAOmPohjI/AAAAAAAAHv0/He3hrwOClaMdJAFWbEP8HhYooAfl72yxQCLcB/s1600/Cotton%2BYarn01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GywntYG4GzE/WPUAOmPohjI/AAAAAAAAHv0/He3hrwOClaMdJAFWbEP8HhYooAfl72yxQCLcB/s400/Cotton%2BYarn01.jpg" width="257" /></a></div>
<br />
Something tells me....I'd better get that sewing room finished. Before you know it, There's going to be lots of yarning around and I really don't need another creative endeavor. But just like fabrics and threads, these yarn colors call to me and just beg to become something.<br />
Happy Spring....til next time.<br />

<br />
I'm making single & double scoop pouches, inspired by the tutorial on fat quarter shop. I've altered mine a bit in size & have added pockets, inside and outside & added charm loops. I'm just having fun with each one and making them as I go along.<br />

<br />
I decided to use fabrics that gave the idea of ice cream flavors and had a fun afternoon modeling fabrics for these pouches. I have little ice cream charms for the zips & a few ice cream fabric prints.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm using fabrics from various collections. Autumn Tree, Sweetheart &Tiny Treasures. I decided on four prints & cutting two each with the template. I chose a sweet little button for the center. I got mine from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/CynthiaCranesPottery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"><i>Cynthia Crane's Pottery on Etsy.</i></span></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Sew Simple....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm making pumpkins over here...because tis the season and it's one of my favorite Fall things! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-peRKi-J_OiU/WDCjWF4xf-I/AAAAAAAAHaE/9rIu-DDXwD08klAn6Ks21PT09Cydqi-7wCEw/s1600/PumpkQ04.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="500" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-peRKi-J_OiU/WDCjWF4xf-I/AAAAAAAAHaE/9rIu-DDXwD08klAn6Ks21PT09Cydqi-7wCEw/s640/PumpkQ04.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I gathered up some fabrics and made 2½" strips & squares. Then I just mixed it all together and created a square, 9 pumpkin block, lap quilt. The pumpkin blocks are 10 ½" and I added 2½" & 3" borders using strips and squares.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o4SYMYS2kSI/WDCjVySy9II/AAAAAAAAHaA/ns-BDgZ_GQQJ3DVRN9owkfR8sMo_KQ_kwCEw/s1600/PumpkQ02.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o4SYMYS2kSI/WDCjVySy9II/AAAAAAAAHaA/ns-BDgZ_GQQJ3DVRN9owkfR8sMo_KQ_kwCEw/s640/PumpkQ02.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It ends up with four patches on the corners, 2", 3" & the finished corners at 6" to join my patchwork at the top and bottom.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-72bN0Lsu0r4/WDCjWUa-6VI/AAAAAAAAHaU/3RbSJsPJ-gIb50Uttsvii4O1hZlT5ZkFACEw/s1600/PumpkQ03.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="568" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-72bN0Lsu0r4/WDCjWUa-6VI/AAAAAAAAHaU/3RbSJsPJ-gIb50Uttsvii4O1hZlT5ZkFACEw/s640/PumpkQ03.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I have the final border to sew and this is ready for quilting. With a big pumpkin centered on the back. I love making the backs of my quilts with some patchwork. It's fun to continue the design on the other side in another layout & get two looks within one quilt. This one will finish at around 65" square.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<br />
I have many projects to work on this month and yikes!...September is almost gone. Sharing my WIP's for National Sewing Month..September!<br />
The pixie quilt, cookie exchange quilt, sew together bags, pumpkins, pillows....are all started and I'm having a grand time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pIyC2qKg6fM/V-belzy3gAI/AAAAAAAAHTQ/3BsYAZtJ8vEkyz7nd16JcxYfvv1QDC0OgCLcB/s1600/SeptSewMonthLogo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" nopin="nopin" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pIyC2qKg6fM/V-belzy3gAI/AAAAAAAAHTQ/3BsYAZtJ8vEkyz7nd16JcxYfvv1QDC0OgCLcB/s320/SeptSewMonthLogo.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Cookie Exchange Fabric...Pattern 'Lucky'<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d9h1y7IRnuY/V-bSGNStb8I/AAAAAAAAHSs/y5gbgQBaHnI33FYnhfnT4dg1XUU580DcgCLcB/s1600/CookieCuttingDay.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d9h1y7IRnuY/V-bSGNStb8I/AAAAAAAAHSs/y5gbgQBaHnI33FYnhfnT4dg1XUU580DcgCLcB/s320/CookieCuttingDay.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_5mYBXAxk2U/V-bXgd-0NiI/AAAAAAAAHS8/DRz_RRy9u1gSOkEhZ3t_YNo77WHPOK-TQCLcB/s1600/CookieMosaic01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_5mYBXAxk2U/V-bXgd-0NiI/AAAAAAAAHS8/DRz_RRy9u1gSOkEhZ3t_YNo77WHPOK-TQCLcB/s640/CookieMosaic01.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cookie exchange fabric is an absolute pleasure to sew with....from SweetWater and the finish on this fabric is superb! I have opted to make a nine block quilt as opposed to the 12, designed in the Lucky pattern. For reasons.... where I'll be using it...a square simply appeals to me. I have the recipe print too and will be using that for the back, along with some of the others.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When, I set out to do a quilt, I draw the block on the computer, print it out several times & cut into small note sized pieces. It helps me keep all of the shapes of the block in check. Really, helpful when you sew like I do...re-inventing and switching from project to project. I make notes on the paper blocks and color with pencils. I take that block paper piece to the sewing machine with me too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was a super helpful tool for the lucky blocks. I used the same color palette throughout but the fabric patterns were different. And...because those HST go in different directions throughout the block....this kept me straight on late night sew-ins. I have nine blocks finished & ready to go to the next step. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pCEJIoNdaGk/V-bgniMUsNI/AAAAAAAAHTc/kgqZgOCwWGcu6riFkFhLRoo8mXV8-G7bwCLcB/s1600/LuckyQuiltMaking7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pCEJIoNdaGk/V-bgniMUsNI/AAAAAAAAHTc/kgqZgOCwWGcu6riFkFhLRoo8mXV8-G7bwCLcB/s400/LuckyQuiltMaking7.jpg" width="303" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Pixie Quilt.... Pixie Noel Fabric... Pattern my own.....not sure I'll wing it like this again :0) I have it all worked out and have opted for more strips and a nice border. You can preview my dilemmas on my previous post. I get myself in all kinds of messes at times....just me sewing;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LvT3m7-M204/V-bjIex0cXI/AAAAAAAAHTo/-uzEeb6oc5g2I7H8_u7JMJRZMS-VxiMCACLcB/s1600/PixieLayout.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LvT3m7-M204/V-bjIex0cXI/AAAAAAAAHTo/-uzEeb6oc5g2I7H8_u7JMJRZMS-VxiMCACLcB/s400/PixieLayout.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I chose to remove the top & bottom center blocks and I made two more pixie fussy-cut blocks. The plan now, is too make simple four patch blocks in a sashing strip & finish again square, with a nice border.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0iCLt-8mG7w/V-bvFGYByiI/AAAAAAAAHT4/_DMgG2xCL6IyYDW9U_e3psvLb3T-A6_DACLcB/s1600/SewTogetBAG.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="441" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0iCLt-8mG7w/V-bvFGYByiI/AAAAAAAAHT4/_DMgG2xCL6IyYDW9U_e3psvLb3T-A6_DACLcB/s640/SewTogetBAG.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sew Together bags....I have seen so many wonderful bags on IG. The possibilities for this bag are really only limited to your imagination. I found the pattern to be very easy to get along with, once I got moving with it. This is my third bag, the other two took off like a flash and no pictures were taken. But that's okay....I see many, more happening real soon. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used 5 fabrics for this one. Lewis & Irene's Spring/Summer '16 Collection - Tales of the Sea were my main fabrics. I chose 3 of the same print in different colorways and used some stashed pieces for the pocket linings & binding.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As, I was sewing this one....I planned the next, they are habit forming & make great Gifts!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cvCyFAHsj0M/V6zmg_qYL9I/AAAAAAAAHOk/nvcI1Yd4Ls0PBYyG6xWiL7qUVMWgbmr4wCLcB/s1600/PixieMaking04.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="566" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cvCyFAHsj0M/V6zmg_qYL9I/AAAAAAAAHOk/nvcI1Yd4Ls0PBYyG6xWiL7qUVMWgbmr4wCLcB/s640/PixieMaking04.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I have started a pixie quilt. I planned for it to be a lap size but it seems to be growing (in my head) Once, I got nine blocks finished and took a look at the layout, I wanted to add more to it. This is what happens to me, when I don't stick with a pattern. It's a lot of fun this way but also a bit mind boggling. It's just how I create....what can I say.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cv5pokdqFEM/V6z1u06KcGI/AAAAAAAAHO0/kpbIyvCSH4wlulV2HpcpTHQ1oj2HMWWbQCLcB/s1600/PixieLayout.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cv5pokdqFEM/V6z1u06KcGI/AAAAAAAAHO0/kpbIyvCSH4wlulV2HpcpTHQ1oj2HMWWbQCLcB/s640/PixieLayout.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I wanted it to be an easy sew because I have a lot on my plate right now and wanted to be able to sew all the projects on my list. I arranged the layout on my computer and figured out color placement & went with 2.5" strips and squares - making 8" blocks. Now, I'm at the point of whether to do sashing? border? ...more blocks?<br />
Decisions!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8A_ifgLI-b8/V6z3AC1wniI/AAAAAAAAHO8/QMoE3v_-1B0M7mWX6mk3auscXSX3NxNlACLcB/s1600/PixieMaking03.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="520" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8A_ifgLI-b8/V6z3AC1wniI/AAAAAAAAHO8/QMoE3v_-1B0M7mWX6mk3auscXSX3NxNlACLcB/s640/PixieMaking03.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
One thing is for sure, I love to cut out the little pixies. This is really a sweet fabric collection & I can tell you, there are more makes on the horizon. It's one of my favorite color combinations & so far my favorite collection by Tasha. There's something about striped tights & those bunnies....am I right?<br />
Catches me every time...fun!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YQe2Azywcdo/V6z4gDtVPaI/AAAAAAAAHPI/dP9kQvcQ6yAgE-xfii00N2u-Y728754sACLcB/s1600/PixieMaking01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="474" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YQe2Azywcdo/V6z4gDtVPaI/AAAAAAAAHPI/dP9kQvcQ6yAgE-xfii00N2u-Y728754sACLcB/s640/PixieMaking01.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'll figure things out for the quilt, while a spend some time in the sewing room tonight. Pixie making continues....I'll see you soon.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j6npYxuRw8A/V6u4PVi-RxI/AAAAAAAAHMo/oUCRCsOJ2M0W3FGte-NSQNvOk0a4nKWZgCLcB/s1600/HandMaids02.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="556" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j6npYxuRw8A/V6u4PVi-RxI/AAAAAAAAHMo/oUCRCsOJ2M0W3FGte-NSQNvOk0a4nKWZgCLcB/s640/HandMaids02.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I made another....pin cushion. This time using<a href="https://joystudio.wordpress.com/2016/07/15/pincushion-challenge-giveaway/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> 'HandMaids' </a>by Janet Wecker-Frisch. I had fun, fussy cutting those spools and pins from the different fabrics and sewing them up with the tape measure prints.....watercolor blue, yellow, green, orange-red.....snip, snip, snip.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKrw27gK79A/V6vUKn7PvpI/AAAAAAAAHM4/h3UajLD_jQEwQrTVYVh-RWQL47nZ2uIOACLcB/s1600/HandMaids03.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="492" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKrw27gK79A/V6vUKn7PvpI/AAAAAAAAHM4/h3UajLD_jQEwQrTVYVh-RWQL47nZ2uIOACLcB/s640/HandMaids03.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Followed by sewing a BIG red button in the center....and I made a very simple one....because I love the print so much & had to fussy with it, to capture all the goodness within my 6.5" circle. And I sewed a BIG blue button on this one. Two others are the segmented kind with perle cotton cinched to the center button.<br />
My button jar got some much needed love this week... ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nBlNLqMy45A/V6vnTMj4dRI/AAAAAAAAHOE/3C8m8ZwZPGEklYx2wAtnFeuSWnpGAE9ygCLcB/s1600/HandMaids04.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nBlNLqMy45A/V6vnTMj4dRI/AAAAAAAAHOE/3C8m8ZwZPGEklYx2wAtnFeuSWnpGAE9ygCLcB/s640/HandMaids04.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JRaHgu7uj7w/V6vUKgeN2eI/AAAAAAAAHM8/YBw97vywm1gPp0c6Zez7pO7t3Rzdgc-DwCEw/s1600/HandMaids01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="576" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JRaHgu7uj7w/V6vUKgeN2eI/AAAAAAAAHM8/YBw97vywm1gPp0c6Zez7pO7t3Rzdgc-DwCEw/s640/HandMaids01.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
That little red pin cushion in this print and in the HandMaid's hair on another are stash worthy. It was absolutely the <i>'eye candy' </i>that caught me onto this fabric collection in the very beginning.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--kkBH-41Mww/V6vZZO71pBI/AAAAAAAAHNo/XFzj_Q8v0LcZ3rIoM4MdwCzletXwZLOXwCEw/s1600/HopSWSCountdown2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="274" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--kkBH-41Mww/V6vZZO71pBI/AAAAAAAAHNo/XFzj_Q8v0LcZ3rIoM4MdwCzletXwZLOXwCEw/s320/HopSWSCountdown2.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">A</span>s you see, those tomato pin cushions in the background above.... are from the last Hop...in 2014 & I snipped it out for one of the side panels. I just love the spools, buttons, sewing machines and typography in this print! There are just so many goodies to fussy cut and make a project all your own.<br />

<span style="color: #e06666;"><b>love, love, love,</b></span> little ruby by B&C. The 'quirky' print is probably,...no it is! my favorite! I loved it so much that I got three colorways....aqua, cream & grey. Happy Mail from Lori at <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/stitchesngiggles4U" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Stitches n Giggles</a>. She carries such lovely selections in her Shop.<br />
I made the pin cushion using a ruby charm pack & other b&c cuts I had on hand.<br />
There are <i>18 little dresden pieces</i> to sew together & I made choices for them, with a little bit of ruby, hello darling & daysail. I love the larger, ruby berry with the now, little ruby.... I have been saving that ruby berry for a looong time & only have small cuts left in the grey and aqua.<br />
Sew, here's what I did....I altered the pattern just a bit making my center circle 3.5" and made a 2.5" band to run around the side. It measures a nice, big size of 6.5" overall and is perfect for my stitching spot. I like a big pin cushion, when I am stitching because I use several needles and thread colors all working at the same time. It is perfect! Thank you Sunny Day Supply!<br />

Little sewing is all I can seem to get done here lately & I found another to work on this week...woo hoo! My work schedule keeps pulling me in on the other side of my studio and I don't get much time for this side...the sewing room. But, that's ok....a little sewing is better than none at all.<br />
