i renewed thinsite.net today for another couple of years. hopefully the next two years are a bit more active than the last two years. though i'll probably just spam the site with baby photos. deal with it. until then, here's another night shot from mexico. this one off our balcony.

jen and i booked a trip to mexico kinda last minute in december cause we realized that if we didn't go now then the next time we'd have a chance she'd be too pregnant to fly. being on the beach when you know home is completely frozen over is the best. i'm gonna be a total snow bird when i get old.

so, not a lot of photoshop tomfoolery with the photo. it's basically what it looked like when i shot it. the full moon was so bright that with just a couple seconds of exposure it really illuminated everything.

a few weeks ago when 10 of us close buds rented a cottage near dorset i decided to bring my turntables. i packed up the whole thing; turntables, mixer, serato, speakers, etc. ian and i set it up right away and we were ready to turn it on to break in the cottage when the blood left my head and i got a terrible feeling in my gut. i realized that i forgot the control vinyl at home. i felt like such a bonehead. luckily lolly hadn't made her way up to the cottage yet so she was able to buy a pair and she totally saved the day. it felt so weird using serato on internal mode... it was the worst.

so up top is fletcher lake on one of the few days we had sunshine. we took up residence on the pearce's dock cause it was in much better shape than ours. and below is a mix i recorded the other day. press play.

years ago when jen and i were first getting to know each other we went to shoppers drug mart late one night to pick up some snacks. we were in the middle of some isle when we noticed my coworker shandy near the end of the isle. ~~while i'm waving and saying hi to shandy jen grabs a pack of condoms and throws them in my basket making sure that shandy notices.~~ correction: turns out i remember it wrong and the way it went down is that jen put the box in our basket as a joke and right then shandy turned the corner and sees us. we didn't actually need them cause we're irresponsible like that, but it made for a good laugh the next day when shandy says to me "magnums eh?"

i bought a magazine at the airport the other day while i was waiting for my mom to return from her vacation. it was probably the first magazine i had bought in years. it's probably the last magazine i'll buy until my next stint at the airport without wifi.
