Enabling PHP in OS X Lion

Edit your /etc/apache2/httpd.conf and make sure the line:

LoadModule php5_module libexec/apache2/libphp5.so

exists. By default in the standard OS X config, you just need to uncomment it, then re-start Apache:

sudo apachectl restart

And you should be good to go.

How to request an iTunes refund (Apps)

I copied this from another blog by Eddie Wong. Never knew about this myself.

The process for claiming a refund is easy, here are the steps:

Launch iTunes
Click on iTunes Store
Login to your iTunes account, if you’re already logged in click on your email in the upper right corner of iTunes
Click on “Purchase History”
Select the app that you want a refund for
Click on “Report a Problem”
Fill out the form detailing the problem with the app purchase and why you want a refund
Submit the problem report and wait for a response from Apple

The amount of time you have to wait varies, but it’s usually a pretty quick claims process.

Creating a new Admin on Mac Os X:
Here’s how to reset your OS X password without an OS X CD.
the Working solution for me was to create a new admin
you can create new admin like this by deleting a specific file.

You need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:

1. Reboot
2. Hold apple key + s key down after you hear the chime. (command + s on newer Macs)
3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):

mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -h now

4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and your good to go again!

Trip down Market St 1905

This is a pretty amazing bit of video. Shot in 1905, by Jack Kuttner one year before the horrific earthquake and fire of San Francisco. He then went on to shoot a 2nd video in 1906, showing the damage and wreckage of what was left and the rebuild.

I made this with iMovie from Apple iLife ’09 because 1) I really wanted to use this song in something, and 2) I thought it would be quite nice to see all the good stuff on my photoblog in 3 mins.

iMovie was nice enough to only crash once and act weird twice. Thanks Apple. 

This little website is pretty damn amazing. Hours of fun.

As a follow up to ‘Tone Matrix,’ Andre Michelle now offers audio tool, which combines multiple audio machines to simulate a full DJ set up. You can then output the songs to your hard drive!

808 and 909 drums + a host of effects and bass units. Not to mention a the cute tone matrix.

Gmail push on iPhone

Setting up your iPhone is easy. Tap into your Settings app » Mail » Add account » MS Exchange. Then (copied from the instructions page):

• In the Email field, enter your full Google Account email address. If you use an @googlemail.com address, you may see an “Unable to verify certificate” warning when you proceed to the next step.

• Leave the Domain field blank.

• Enter your full Google Account email address as the Username.

• Enter your Google Account password as the Password.

• Tap Next at the top of your screen. (Choose Accept if the Unable to Verify Certificate dialog appears.)

• A new Server field will appear. Enter m.google.com.

• Press Next at the top of your screen again.

Done.

Works pretty well too.
