this is a piece I have started working on.
will probably be published in pieces.
its a story about a rock.

A couple days after the earth was in place,
and the spinning began to start shifting the plates,
the mountains that were soon to be were not yet;
the water and land were smooth and flat.

With the amount of force that comes with rotation,
the land starts to break like the waves of an ocean,
and peaks that did form were both small and grand;
some under the sea, some over the land.

Sometimes

we talk about the good ole' days

and like wine,

they only get better to taste

as we age them

on the shelves of our minds.

Sometimes

we talk about the future in such

straight lines

but a circle is the shape we use to

mark time

no wonder our stars won't align

Don't go and sulk.

It ain't that bad.

Life hasn't passed you by.

Its been waiting around like it always has.

It's a fine line

we stumble upon with our

old wine

that we drink till the dawn of the day

that has been in our minds

all along.

So its time

to pack away the plans that we make

and re-sign

the declaration of today.

That we were meant to live

in the day we're in.

Don't go and sullk.

It ain't that bad.

Life's on the other side

of whatever it is you say

you need to have

The acorn and the oak tree.

I'll hang around

until I can find out

the point to this madness called life.

yours is quite possibly

the lamest escuse

that i have seen with my eyes.

i'd bet your dollar

that all of this squalor

was made up

to waste up your time

if you're a thinker

take that hook, line and sinker

out of your mouth and follow the line.

Nobody knows

where it goes

it just come down out of the sky

if it weren't there it wouldn't be truth i suppose

but it were

so it can't be a lie.

I need to get going

but i gotta find out

what the meaning to money and cents.

I guess greed found a coin

that doesn't exist

it's just made up as fast as its lent.

but the verdicts not out
cause the jury got hung up
while reading the sunday funnies
that we could do for love
what were doing for money

so if you need a break
go ahead and take it
and just lie down in the wake
of all that we made it through

how its never been told
and yet somehow we always knew
that we had to breakdown
before we could breakthrough

about something that you never knew

just think about it

you put your life on the line

when youve got something to prove

Do nothing.

It will work itself out.

Theres no way to deny if you look in its eyes,

this ship is going down.

But if a big enough boat sinks,

the whole oceans gonna rise.

Positive thinking,

the rock hopes it will float.

Maybe it could if it didn't take so long to learn

how to get out of the boat.

The one we've constructed

with all our paradigms and laws.

The societal norm to which we conform,

has grown some nasty claws.

Its ok to not understand,

to not have a plan,

to be on the side in solitude standing.

Millions have done it

millions of times.

But to cofuse movement

with meaning

and motion with purpose,

I'd rather not.

If thats the cost of re-entry

I'd rather stay put.

More people buying stuff they dont need. I thought of this while driving in my car yesterday. I put this peice of paper in my side window to make myself feel better about all the stuff I can't buy these days. Strange, the things we do.
