Our good friend Juan Neal just sent over some new music from Detroit based artist Louie P. Newton. Breaking the mold on the world of unsigned hype's, his latest cut entitled "The Bottom" stems from an upcoming EP scheduled to drop later this year. In his music you hear the soul as well as the struggles of Detroit. "The Bottom" paints a vivid picture of a man trying to survive. The production, also by Louie, makes this track more symphony than rap music. Check it out below.

Lacoste 2010 Steel Racquet Collection Video

A while back we got a look at Lacoste' Steel Racquet collection. Today we get short history lesson on the brand as well as its founder. All four styles include the M85 Mid (seen above), the René Lacoste, Broadwick and Europa, all feature a mixture of metallic fabrics in leather, mesh or reflective material and are contrasted by brown leather details that replicate the handle of the racquet. René Lacoste SR features suppers of metallic mesh with brown leather detail replicating that on the handle of a racquet, a fitting tribute considering that the shoe was also created by René Lacoste himself the same year he invented the metal racquet.

The three other styles in this capsule also have a mix of metallic fabrics on the uppers and the brown leather handle detail. Broadwick SR has leather uppers in matte steel colour, while M85 Mid SR has mirrored metallic steel leather with some metallic mesh accents on the ankle. With production by Joe Hahn of Linkin Park, Lady Tigra puts the visual treatment to her newest cut "Bass On The Bottom". We have to give a nod to Justin Diener and Cinematographer Andrew Sachs for putting together this visual. Playing off the Blackploitation films of the late 70's combined with the early beginnings of the Hip Hop movement, the presentation is a action packed short movie for all intensive purposes. California based Creative Recreation has been putting in work in the footwear game for a minute now and are always looking for ways to improve on their marquee models. Having seen the highly popular Cesario done up in a slew of different colorways over the past several seasons, they apply one of the hottest and most trendy motifs to the silhouette, camouflage. The good folks over at Upper Playground were kind enough to send over some detailed images of renowned street artist David Choe' latest endeavor into the Vinyl Toy industry. They team up with Japan’s Good Smile Company to become the official distributor for David Choe’s “Munko” Vinyl Figures. The toys were initially seen as simple sketches on David's blog, and now following the premiere of the physical Munko toys at San Diego Comic Con in Giant Robot's booth, Upper Playground is the exclusive wholesaler and distributor for the line of figures.

Upper Playground has continually been impressed not only by Good Smile Company's detail and intricacy in their vinyl figures, but also by the innovativeness of their other ventures, and are very excited to begin this partnership between their companies. The "Munko" line of figures comes in three unique sculpts: Munko, Munkosaur, and Munkette. Munko, is offered in 3 colors and 2 extremely realistic textures. Jake Davis Test Shots: Andy Spade & Anthony Sperduti

Following up on the great Jake Davis, the acclaimed photographer and filmmaker introduces his latest piece from his reoccurring visual series, Test Shots. In the new short, he captures the style of Andy Spade and Anthony Sperduti of Partners And Spade. Established in 2008, Partners & Spade is a storefront and studio on Great Jones Street in the NoHo neighborhood of lower Manhattan.

The studio produces films, books, apparel and conceptual products as well as marketing and branding projects for select corporate clients. The storefront, open on weekends to the public, presents a constantly re-imagined group show of artwork, objects, collections and ideas generated by an ever changing cast of collaborators. Both Spade and Sperduti showcase a low key style with throwback K-Swiss and Desert Boots, to the clean button downs. Check it out.

Nom de Guerre produced this short film directed by Zach Gold, featuring the new Nom de Guerre version of the classic Converse Skidgrip CVO shoe. The shoe launch and video coincide with Nom de Guerre’s launch into online retail and feature the Converse shoe as well as Nom de Guerre’s upcoming FW10 collection "Countdown to Violence". On Friday July 30th the shoe launches along with the full length video that will be screened at the Nom de Guerre store at 640 Broadway in New York City. When you find yourself indulging in Chocolate, what some consider a natural aphrodisiac, 99 percent of the time no thought probably runs through the mind of the meticulous process that is undertaken in providing the masses with pure enjoyment. So for their third installment of a series documenting renowned chocolatiers, The Mast Brothers (Chocolate), Scout Magazine offers a better sense of unique dedication to their craft.

The life of a mariner is one given over to wanderlust—the quest for adventure, crossing unseen horizons to secure precious goods—only to bring them back to their home port. This same love of adventure and curiosity defines the brotherhood of Rick and Michael Mast. They share a fiercely independent spirit, leaping into the unknown and trusting that they’ll find the answer through endurance and dedication to their craft.

They began their voyage in their apartment, using a homemade machine to process cacao beans. Over time they cultivated their creation, sourcing beans from family farms in Madagascar, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador. Each bar is handmade with incredible reverence for the process and history of chocolate. They are bound in ornamental papers and golden foil like a collection of rare books. Each bar offers its own story of flavors, and no two are exactly alike.

The Mast Brothers are now planning to navigate the mighty Atlantic, sailing to the Dominican Republic in search of beans and a deeper connection with the folks who grow them. Before they begin the next chapter, The Scout spent time with Rick and Michael documenting their story.

G.O.O.D. Music day is scheduled for September 14th, 2010 (with the exception of Kid Cudi's album getting pushed back a couple of weeks), and that's the day the incomparable Kanye West will be dropping his latest efforts, which is currently untitled. Over the course of West' career, beginning as a producer, he has risen to the top only to etch his name in the hall of fame as one of the greatest rappers and entertainers of all time. Critics and fans alike know that his work speaks for itself and the upcoming release will arguably be the best album of the year. Recently, the Grammy Award Winner paid a visit to the Facebook Headquarters where he gave a room full of employee's a taste of some new material in the form of a poem and a few verses from some notable songs. Coming off two strong collaborations this summer, one with Norml for the Capital Club Pack and a 2nd with Palace Five, Durkl showcases a few pieces from their upcoming Fall/Holiday 2010 collection. Comprised of the essentials need to keep warm, we see a mix of mens outerwear in a variety of styles and colors. Noteworthy drops include the all new Bomber leather jacket in purple, Front side & Front pocket jackets, but our favorite would have to be the Quilted Button Down Jacket. The crew over at The189 puts us up on some killer photography by Polish based photographer Sebastian Szwajczak. For his latest work, he links up with K Magazine who recruited the talented camera genius for their latest issue, the result is this new piece entitled "Informer". The shoot evokes an almost late 1980's feel with the legendary fire engine red Ferrari and fashionable attire reminiscent of Miami Vice' Tubbs & Crockett. That aside, the lighting and texture effects add a subtle element giving the images a cinematic allure and story line feel. More looks follow below.

Leather experts The Brothers Bray & Co by Billykirk have teamed up with heritage brand Sebago to create a limited line of instant classics. Really, these two together and you already know its going to be something spectacular. Two designs were made for this collaboration the first of which is the Moc Boot which comes in all black premium leather, feature a moc toe and 8-eye lacing system, pull tab at the collar, contrast stitching and are finished with a clean welted rubber sole. We can't help but imaging a slick pair of vintage Levi's over the top just to add a mysterious element. A Work shoe also is seen in a tonal brown colorway with a suede upper.
