Frickin New Orleans... they should've won... then Portland would be third. (sigh)

Oh by the way, it seems your site is now unblocked at work :-)

Oops - I missed the tiebreaker that states if a division leader is tied with a non-division leader, the division leader gets the higher seed. So that's why the San Antonio Spurs are 3rd instead of the Portland Trailblazers.

Miami.
ist tiebreaker: head-to-head (Miami wins 3-1).
That ends the discussion. However, here are the remaining tiebreakers.
2nd: division record. Tied at 9-7.
3rd: conference record. Miami wins again.
4th: record against playoff-teams in conference. Too lazy to figure that one out at the moment.
5th: record against playoff-teams in other conference. Again, too lazy.
6th: point differential. Miami wins, unless something crazy happens in the last game for each team.

looks like Miami does; they won the season series 3-1. They have the same division record (9-7), but Miami They also have a better conference record, which I think is the 2nd tiebreaker.

Basically, if Portland beats Denver tomorrow, they have home-court in the first round. If they lose, they need Houston to lose in order to retain the 4th seed. And if the Blazers can beat the Nuggets and both SA and Houston lose (not likely), the Blazers actually get 3rd and end up playing New Orleans (because it's NO vs Houston on Wednesday, I believe, which would elevate NO out of the tie for 6th)

This is the closest playoff seeding I've EVER seen. I said that last year, too, but it's even closer this year!
