I trust that you typically sit down when you watch ‘NCIS,’ because this week’s episode is going to blindside you with tragedy. The set-up: An assassin played by Kelly Hu on ‘NCIS: LA’ earlier this season resurfaces in Washington, D.C., placing Director Vance’s family – and others – in danger. Former ‘Women’s Murder Club’ member Paula Newsome, who plays Vance’s wife Jackie, told me, “There’s a lot on the line and a lot of people land in harm’s way, and somebody goes down.” Newsome says the “shocking” death will be “really hard” on the NCIS team “because they’re a very tight-knit group.” Commence fretting!

Do you have any scoop on what’s next for ‘CSI: NY’s’ Danny and Lindsay? – Sara
I cannot believe that it took a whole six weeks into my new gig for the first Danny-Lindsay question to hit my mailbox! And your reward, Sara, is good news. (I think.) Executive producer Peter Lenkov wants you to know that outside of “Danny’s near/possible injury relapse and keeping that a secret, I think it’s smooth sailing for the happy couple.” All together now: Aww!

Is Izzie pregnant on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’?! The new promo sure makes it look that way. – Sofie
It will be interesting to see who Meredith is directing her “You’re pregnant?” at. If Izzie, the timing could be fortuitous for the put-upon Dr. Stevens. As series creator Shonda Rhimes told me, “Izzie has had everything taken from her - she’s had cancer, she’s lost a friend [George], and she had what she saw as a betrayal of a relationship [with Alex] when she got fired - so she’s sort of standing on this very delicate place where she feels like she has nothing. She’s searching for some reason to hang on.” Motherhood could be a very good reason, but I’m just spitballing here.

I am psyched that we now have a Season 2 premiere date (December 8th) for ABC’s ‘Better Off Ted.’ Give me something to look forward to. – Eddie
Just how chilly is Portia de Rossi’s Veronica? Why, she makes a visiting fraulein look downright cuddly. Finn comes close to gleaning the truth this week, when Puck questions his BFF’s ability to provide as a papa and the fists begin flying, so I imagine it’s just a matter of time. And when that babydaddy bombshell is exposed? “It’s going to hit the fan,” promises Mark Salling. “But Puck really screwed Finn over, so he kind of deserves what he’s got coming to him.”

Nice interview with ‘Smallville’s’ Justin Hartley! But man, no Chlollie? I was hoping for that. – LJ
To be fair, Justin didn’t completely rule out an Ollie-Chloe romance; he simply said nothing was on the books yet. In full, he told me he finds it “much more interesting for Oliver to have a relationship with a female that’s platonic; that doesn’t happen to him. Or, I’d like to see him stumble on [new romance] and not know how to handle that.” As for what if anything the writers decide to do with “Chlollie,” he said, “It will be good. I have total faith in them.”

The ‘Smallville’ executive producers have confirmed that Martian Manhunter (Phil Morris) is returning this season. When, and for how many episodes? – Graham
Those who are J’onzzing for the big guy’s return will want to make extra sure that they catch the Justice Society-centric two-parter airing in January. Martian Manhunter will play a role in “Society,” but really make his presence known in the “Legend” half.

Is ‘One Tree Hill’ planning anything special for its 150th episode? – Shailee
‘OTH’ will hit that milestone with this season’s 20th episode, but as of yet there are no specific celebration plans in place. So make your suggestions now! If you recall, ‘Tree Hill’ turned 100 with a Season 5 cliffhanger that featured Lucas and Lindsey’s non-wedding and nanny Carrie’s kidnapping of wee Jamie. How does one top that?

Those hoping for a Jane-Lisbon hookup will have to be patient, because for the time being the hit drama’s only romantic entanglement involves Rigsby and Van Pelt and their struggle to keep their relationship a secret from the rest of the team. With Locklear’s arrival now just a week away, I can reveal that Amanda is going to be in hot pursuit of… ex-lover Michael’s son David. But no, not necessarily to bed him. “She wants something that Sydney had in her possession when she died,” Shaun Sipos shares. And amazingly, David’s no pushover for Ms. Woodward’s considerable charms. Patrick Jane should have a good feel about this: CBS' sophomore drama "The Mentalist" has netted a rich off-network syndication deal with TNT.

TV studios should feel good too. The off-network syndication market is heating up again, with two young dramas, "Mentalist" and another CBS procedural, "NCIS: Los Angeles," on Thursday selling for more than $2 million an episode after healthy bidding.

According to the pact between TNT and Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution, "Mentalist" will begin running weekly on the cable network in fall 2011, followed by a full-blown launch in 2012.

Neither side would discuss the financials of the deal, but the Simon Baker starrer is said to have fetched from $2.2 million-$2.3 million an episode.

"The demand for the off-network rights (to 'Mentalist') began almost immediately following its debut on CBS last fall and has steadily increased as the show blossomed into a true broadcast hit," WBDTD president Ken Werner said.

"Mentalist" launched as the top new series of the 2008-09 season and has been a solid ratings performer this fall in its new 10 p.m. Thursday slot.

"The early success of the series indicates 'The Mentalist' has a great future," Turner Entertainment Networks president Steve Koonin said.

The economic downturn and a glut of procedurals have pushed down off-network prices from the heights of late 2004, when Spike TV shelled out a record $1.9 million an episode for CBS' "CSI: NY." That was followed by the USA Network/Bravo pact for "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" for nearly $2 million an episode and the current record-holder, A&E's deal for "The Sopranos," valued at $2.5 million an episode.

Although "Mentalist" and "NCIS: LA," whose sale prices are said to be in the same range, couldn't match the New Jersey mobsters' loot, they still posted a record for a broadcast series' off-network sale.

By comparison, another solidly performing CBS procedural, "Criminal Minds," was sold to A&E and Ion last year for a combined license fee of about $850,000 an episode.

On TNT, a corporate sibling of the show's producer Warner Bros. TV, "Mentalist" will join a slate of off-network procedurals that includes "Law & Order," "Bones" and fellow CBS series "Without a Trace," "Cold Case" and "Numbers."

Created by Bruno Heller, "Mentalist" stars Baker as an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation who solves crimes using razor-sharp observation skills.

With its light tone and quirky central character, "Mentalist" had been considered a good fit for USA, which is said to have been interested but ultimately went aggressively after "NCIS: LA" to complete its "NCIS" off-network franchise. "Mentalist" also might have been considered too similar to USA's original series "Psych."

TNT has been an active buyer lately, also acquiring the WBTV-produced cop drama "Southland" after it was canceled by NBC.

It’s slammer time when Jane (Simon Baker) is thrown behind bars in the November 5 episode of The Mentalist (Thursdays, 10/9c, CBS ) after it’s discovered he planted a bugging device in the office of foe Sam Bosco (Terry Kinney). But it won’t stop him from busting the bad guys. “Jane gets so bored in jail he solves the murder of a young man who was killed in a family oil feud,” says creator Bruno Heller.

Then, on November 12, Jane blasts to the past after getting hit in the head while working on a case at a baseball stadium. “We have a series of flashbacks showing how Jane was raised as this psychic boy wonder in the morally ambiguous world of traveling carnies. It’s like a Gypsy Rose Lee scenario,” Heller says. “Fans will get some very interesting insight into Jane’s character.”

Later in the month, just as Jane and Co. are investigating a dead body that’s been hidden for two years under the floorboards of a house, Bosco shows up at the same house looking for a woman who’s been kidnapped. The two are then forced to team up. Says Heller: “Cue the fireworks.”

The Mentalist – 02x04 – Red Menace” - Recap

The team arrives in Deerfield at a crime scene that was found by a jogger. Since the body was on the city line, they brought in CBI to handle the investigation. The locals think that it's a carjacking, but Lisbon disagrees. Jane finds the victim's bluetooth and though they don't have the phone, Jane calls “home” and the phone is answered by the victim's wife.

Lisbon, Rigsby, and Jane arrive at the victim's residence. A shiny motorcycle is parked in front. They talk with the wife and son. The victim represented a motorcycle gang that was dangerous, but he always believed that they were clients not criminals. The family tells them that he was the only part in his business (no secretary or office staff). Neither of them met any of his clients. As they leave the house, Lisbon scolds Rigsby on his behavior in front of the family as they talk to Cho. In the background, Jane is looking over the motorcycle and ends up sitting on it like a child on a coin operated ride in front of a grocery store. The team is splitting up: Rigsby and Cho and then Lisbon and Jane.

Jane and Lisbon are checking out a biker bar in which the victim's clients hang out. Jane explains how bikers are like nomads and how they're sexier than farmers. Jane examines the bikes before they both head inside. Once inside, everyone stares at them as they obviously don't belong. As some of the guys are getting confrontational with Lisbon, Jane walks around and finds the man they're looking for. They inform them that their lawyer is dead, but they think that his advice to not talk to cops is still good. Jane brings up an informant in the gang, but he quickly drops it. The man they're looking for finally decides to talk to them when Jane can figure out the deep down personality of one of the guys in his gang. The gang refers to themselves as a “motorcycle club” instead of a gang. The questioning is interrupting when they hear screaming and find the gang outside dragging a woman, who escapes before Lisbon can get to her.

Back at CBI, Jane is looking at a motorcycle magazine and finds that the gang has a website and everything in the magazine. They even have logo merchandise and Jane suggests that the CBI should do the same thing. “Lisbon loafers,” he suggests. They try to track down the woman they'd seen outside of the biker bar and Van Pelt finds something.

Lisbon and Van Pelt go back to the bar to question one of the women that had been there earlier. Van Pelt ends up chasing after the woman and cuts her off after cutting through private property (something that looks like a field). “I'm going to have to get you out of the office more,” Lisbon tells her, impressed by her driving skills.

Cho asks why Rigsby doesn't like bikers and he explains that his father was one. Cho tells him that he knew that he was a criminal, but his file didn't specify biker. They have gone to the victim's office and have found that it has been broken into and on the back of the door in red spray paint reads: “Go to Hell.”

Lisbon and Jane question the lady biker, Constance. Jane asks her about if she was sleeping with the victim (the lawyer). She liked him because he treated her kindly and she felt special. Jane brings up that she had to be concerned about McBride (the leader of the bike gang) finding out about the relationship. They ask Constance about the woman at the bar, but she doesn't know much about it. She doesn't want McBride to know and says that if he knew then she'd already be dead. Lisbon finds out that victim's wife knew about Constance dating her husband.

Lisbon goes back to the victim's residence to question the wife. As far as she knew, her husband had stopped seeing the other woman. She's trying to protect herself and her son, so that they can grieve the loss of a husband and father.

The team looks over a camera from a building across from the victim's office. They find out that the person who broke into the office was the woman from the biker bar parking lot.

They bring in the woman finally and find out that she's trying to go after the bike gang because they killed her brother and the victim helped them get off with his murder. She wanted the victim to understand what he'd done to her. She went to his house one time, but ran off when she saw his son. His family didn't have anything to do with it. Cho brings up that she's an angry person who shows her frustration through physical conflict.

Lisbon, Jane, and Cho discuss what to the do with the woman. Cho wants to hold her for vandalism while Jane wants to cut her lose because she's obviously sloppy. Lisbon agrees and they let the woman go.

Jane goes to visit the victim's residence and finds the son driving around in circles in the drive way, he's trying to practice his driving but can't leave because his mom is out at the store. Jane asks him about the woman being there. He tells Jane that she was yelling about his dad lying about her brother and then she ran off. He felt bad for the woman and didn't want to get her into trouble. Jane feels bad for the kids and decides to be his driving instructor. His father always took him out driving, but was always on the phone and would always yell at him for his mistakes. Jane understands. “Trust your instincts, they're always right,” he tells the boy.

Cho and Rigsby are on a stakeout of the woman's house, just waiting in the dark. Cho pokes lightly at Rigsby about Van Pelt, Rigsby has still done nothing in the way of making any progress romantically with her. They hear bikes and get out with their weapons. They tell the woman to go back into her house and stay down while they wait for the gang to approach. Rigsby spouts off all kinds of things that he can cite them for if he wants to. He and Cho hold the line with weapons drawn (and Cho isn't even armed with his hand gun, it's like a shotgun). The gang decides to ride right on by them. “You really don't like bikers,” Cho remarks.

The team arrives at the woman's house to talk to her. She's irritated that they were in front of her house and that Jane went inside to make himself a cup of tea. Jane had been looking through her closet and laundry for blood spattered clothes. He said that they'd probably seen everywhere, but the garabage. Rigsby throws out his tea and then takes the cup to the trash can. He finds a sleeve with the matching cufflink to their victim's clothes.

They bring her into CBI headquarters. He brings her in front of the family and Jane tells them why he thinks that the woman killed her husband. They just need the son to make a formal statement in order to convict the woman. Jane asks him to confirm. He asks what will happen to her and Jane informs him of what would. He says that she went to the house, but she wasn't the one who killed him. “Trust your instincts, they're always right,” Jane reminds him. He tells them that she didn't do it. He did it. They were out driving and his dad was on the phone the whole time and kept getting mad whenever he'd make a mistake. He took the phone and found out that it was a woman that wanted to see his dad and threw his phone into the woods once they'd pulled over. He was pushed to the ground and then hit his father over the head with a rock. He called his mom afterwards, so that it would look like someone had murdered him and that his car had been taken. He had wanted to go to the police, but her mother said not to. They arrest the son and take the mother to question her. Lisbon knows that Jane took the evidence from the evidence locker and placed the evidence in her trash can. Jane agrees that the woman does deserve some justice in her life.

Jane goes to the biker bar and calls McBride and asks him outside. McBride leaves the bar and Jane talks to him and then hands him an envelope. Jane leaves and then McBride saying that the rat will be revealed once he opens the envelope. A group of the gang come out and take the envelope away, there's money inside and they immediately take it that he's the rat. They pull him back into the bar to beat him up (or worse) and Jane makes sure that the woman gets to see the whole thing.

Now she is now the host of a successful daytime talk show in Chicago (think Katie Couric). Acting as the "reunion chair," she oversees the entire reunion and hopes certain secrets from high school have been forgotten...GUEST LEAD (5)
[D.A. GABE NISTICO] 33, Caucasian, Latin, or African American, well-dressed, warm, handsome, sincere, confident and affable, he is the D.A. in San Diego county, now running for Lieutenant governor. The character’s name is Agent Beth Scott, described as a forty-something, authoritative African American woman who is a veteran in the California Bureau of Investigations headquarters. She is expected to remain on the show for the duration of the season and perhaps beyond.

Lisbon is seeing the shrink once again since she refuses to actually talk. She tells him that they use silence as an interrogation method as cops too. Lisbon tells him that he signed off on Jane after one session and he's the one who shoot the guy. The shrink explains that Jane has good mental health and Lisbon asks to see his license. He laughs and they continue. He brings up the fact that it isn't like she doesn't have anything to talk about: her mother dead when she was twelve, three younger brothers, and an abusive alcoholic father. Lisbon corrects him saying that her file doesn't say that her father was abusive, he tries to probe, and she changes the subject. She's saved by a call. "Doctor Carmen, why won't you sign off on me?" she asks. "Because there's something you want to tell me first."

The whole gang head down an alley looking for a body, the switchboard got an anonymous call about there being a dead body. Rigsby hopes for not in the dumpsters. Jane stays with Lisbon and realizes that it's "shrink day" because of the line on between her eyebrows because he annoys her. Jane notices ants heading in one direction while Cho, Rigsby, and Van Pelt look around. The trio fights over who has to go in the dumpsters. Jane points out the ants and he and Lisbon investigate it. A dead body crawling with ants falls out of an alcove that Lisbon opens. Lisbon is clearly affected by the body and Jane recognizes that she knows him. He asks why she knows who he is. He's a serial child rapist who she helped put away. She changes the subject to donuts and walks off. "Can't say I'm hungry," Jane says.

Jane is playing one of his 'I can read your mind' games with Lisbon. He's had her hide a bill under four coffee mugs and has Lisbon name off 20th century presidents as he tries to figure out which mug is the one that it's under. "Our minds are in sync," Jane tells her. And then tells her that he's getting a nickname, "Saint Teresa."

Van Pelt, Rigsby, and Cho look up Lisbon's past in regards to the case and they all have comments, but Van Pelt is the one who is extremely impressed. Jane is able to recite part of an article that Van Pelt reads out loud. They find out that Bosco was Lisbon's supervisor during that case. Bosco offers them help if they'd like it. Lisbon wants Van Pelt to go talk to McTier's girlfriend and Van Pelt is quite creeped out by the fact that he had a girlfriend, Jane volunteers to accompany her. Rigsby is sent to check on McTier's old friends. Cho and Lisbon have a trial meeting. "Not if I throw myself into oncoming traffic first," Cho tells Lisbon, obviously not thrilled.

Van Pelt and Jane go to see the girlfriend who says that McTier said that the cop who put him away had it in for him. Her brother is there fixing the sink for her and says that he only met McTier a couple of times but he treated his sister right. Her daughter walks in and Jane sends her into the other room. Jane said that he hadn't touched her daughter yet and she told them that she said that McTier was different. Van Pelt says that McTier was just still grooming her. Jane figures out that they met in a mall near someplace children would be and had been nagging her about taking her daughter on a private father-daughter bonding trip. Jane tells her that she deserves a good man and she should realize that.

Jane and Cho are being given their trial assignments. The woman is so glad that it wasn't a "Jane case" and that Lisbon needs to talk to him about using bombs and rubber masks. Rigsby comes in and says that they found Lisbon's print on the magazine of the murder weapon. Minelli tells Lisbon that she and her team are off the McTier case and that he's assigning Bosco to the case. Minelli makes it clear that he had to pull strings for Bosco to be on the case and that if Lisbon is guilty then he wants her nailed. Jane arrives into Minelli's office just as Bosco wants to question Lisbon. She says it's alright and Jane wants to stay. She tells Bosco she was watching some reality show at home on Tuesday night. She can't give him the name, it's all very vague and Jane helps her out. Bosco wants to give her a polygraph, but she refuses. She tells them that she didn't kill McTier and Bosco tells her, "Nobody says you did…yet." Jane is upset at the use of the word "yet" and storms out of the office.

Jane finds Cho, Rigsby, and Van Pelt out having coffee and he knows exactly what each is thinking. Jane predicts that Cho says "work the McTier case hard, screw Bosco and Minelli", Van Pelt isn't so sure, and Rigsby disagrees saying that they should stay out of the way and that Bosco's a good cop. Assuming Lisbon had killed McTier, Van Pelt agrees with Cho that she'd just walk away, after all McTier went after little children. "If Lisbon had the guts to kill him, she has the guts to serve her time," Rigsby tells them. Van Pelt and Cho are still intent on working the case and Rigsby suddenly gets up stating that there's no way Lisbon could have done it anyway. Jane isn't so sure.

Jane meets with Lisbon. She's irritated with him. Jane tells her that he knows that she lied about the alibi. "I don't lie," she tells him, but he continues to push her. "I don't remember. I don't remember what I did on Tuesday night," Lisbon admits. Jane wants to put her in a light trance in order to know what had happened, he's afraid that there was something traumatic that happened to her. Lisbon doesn't want to do it, though Jane keeps pushing. "I don't want you inside my head," Lisbon tells him before walking off.

Lisbon is called in by Bosco to help on the McTier case, one of the victims' fathers (his daughter was raped by McTier before he was put in prison) will only talk to Lisbon. The father says that his daughter, Katie, is doing better than he is or at least that's what their shrink says. The father says that he didn't kill McTier and that he was home alone on Tuesday night. The father apparently recently read the incident report and says that Lisbon could have arrested McTier before Katie was raped. "And that is your fault," Mr. Wheeler tells Lisbon. He tells them that he couldn't leave Katie alone even though he swore to use all of his money to go after McTier. Bosco tells Lisbon not to worry about it when the father storms out. "Anger turns you," Bosco says. Lisbon suddenly wants to take the polygraph.

Cho and Van Pelt end up in an adult shop to ask questions about McTier. He tells them that McTier fought with "Dog" before his death, but he doesn't know his real name.

Lisbon is at the courthouse in order to testify at the case she's supposed to be at. Minelli arrives and pulls Lisbon away because she failed the polygraph. He relieves her of duty. Lisbon seems confused as she walks the courthouse. She goes to admin to turn in her gun and badge. She seems lost.

Lisbon goes to her shrink, Dr. Roy Carmen, and doesn't know what to do. He's shocked that she's in his office and talking to him. He tells her that he can help her relax for the polygraph. Lisbon shares that her father used to have blackouts when he used to drink and that he beat one of her brothers nearly to death and didn't remember any of it and couldn't believe it was him that did it. He asks if she's been drinking, but Lisbon doesn't respond to it. She wants to know if she could have murdered McTier and blotted it out. "You didn't even know McTier was in Sacramento," Carmen tells her, but then she tells him that his parole officer gave her a heads up. She asks how to unblock her memory, but he tells her that probably only with time. "You're useless! You and all your talking!" she tells him before leaving his office. Lisbon goes to Jane and he knows that now she's ready to be hypnotized.

Cho, Rigsby, and Van Pelt are in the evidence storage room going through evidence from the old McTier cases. They're looking for "Dog", but don't find him in there. Cho kills a black widow. Bosco walks in and is not happy with them being there. "You're interfering with my case, you're talking to witnesses," Bosco tells them. "You heard wrong," Cho responds back. Bosco isn't happy that they're lying to him. "Drop the McTier case or you'll be on guard duty at the state capitol saluting tourists," Bosco threatens. None of them care. Rigsby's sources find that McTier's cellmate was nicknamed "Dog" and Van Pelt recognizes him as McTier's girlfriend's brother.

Lisbon takes Jane back to her place in order to be hypnotized. She just wants to get it over with, but Jane tells her that he can't do it without her being relaxed. He tricks her by telling her: "I'd have to make all the stress leave your body. Maybe have you count down from 100, 99, 98, we'd go round and round…94,93…" He waves his hand in front of her face to make sure she's in the trance before continuing. "Listen to me, Lisbon. All the stress would have to melt away. You'd have to feel calm and relaxed…very safe… It's just about impossible. I'm not hypnotizing you, Lisbon, so you can just relax. You are not falling into a deep relaxing trance state. Sleep. Good." She falls against his shoulder and he holds her for a moment before patting her head.

He has moved Lisbon to a chair and is getting ready to talk about Tuesday night, but stops for a moment. "But first, you dance to that Spice Girls CD, don't you?" he asks and she says yes. Jane tries to take her back to Tuesday night. "Van Pelt is working late, she's a hard worker. She might due well if she manages not to sleep with Rigsby," Lisbon says as she recalls leaving CBI. She is trying to remember the rest. She remembers being in her car and it being low on gas. Lisbon starts to panic and Jane tries to keep her relaxed. He presses, but she says that it's just blank. "I can see a blank screen." She can't remember. He releases her from the trance and agrees that it's weird that she can't remember. "I thought you were the best, I want my money back," she teases. She asks Jane to leave, but he says that he's not going to give up so easily. She doesn't want Jane to tell anyone on the team about their session and she starts to cry and just needs him to leave.

The brother (aka "Dog") arrives at his sister's house and Cho gets him and Rigsby is there as back-up. They talk to "Dog" about McTier and "Dog" says that he didn't kill him. "Jail is going to be so much better than what you get if you keep lying to us," Rigsby tells him. He says that "their friend, the cop" paid him to lure McTier to the alley. "Dog" says that he never saw anyone, it was all through text. He heard the shots and ran like hell. $10,000 was in his checking account the next day.

Lisbon tells Bosco that there's no way it could have been her. Not $10,000 for just luring him into the alley and not even killing him. It's no way it's her. Cho and Rigsby get yelled at by Bosco for helping her and not staying out of the case. Bosco pulls her to the side and tells her to let him handle it. Bosco asks if she's medicated. Lisbon ends up making a scene, yelling at everyone and then heads to her office where she throws a chair through her office window. Everyone is concerned about Lisbon and everyone sees the incident, including the shrink and Bosco. "I'll take her," Bosco offers, but Lisbon tells him to leave her alone. Jane takes her instead.

Lisbon goes back to her apartment. We see pills spilled out on her coffee table along with a beer. She's dancing around in with her iPod buds in her ears with a coffee mug of beer and she appears to be just clad in a hockey jersey that reads "Lisbon" and "99" on the back of it.

Back at CBI, Rigsby and Van Pelt talk about where they found the account that paid "Dog." Bosco overhears them and knows the same, but doesn't care that they're working the case. Jane talks with Minelli, who realizes that Jane is worried about her. Minelli realizes that he should have taken Lisbon's off-duty weapon.

Dr. Carmen goes to Lisbon's house, he's been ordered by Minelli to check up on her. Lisbon isn't sure if she killed McTier or not and has her gun out. She appears to be drunk. She talks about how stupid the safety is on her gun since it's in the trigger. She waves the gun back and forth at him. Besides the drunken state she appears to be in, she's also getting quite upset as the doctor tries to plead with her to hand over her gun. "You unlocked too many things in my head and now I can't remember. My head is messed up and it's your fault," she tells him. He continues to try to plead with her. He wants her to stay calm.

"You were right, Doctor. There was something I wanted to tell you. I act calm, but on the inside I'm so angry sometimes I think I'm going to explode. All the misery I see everyday makes me want to scream and I lock it down. I lock it down because I have to be calm and rational because that's my job but I want to pull this trigger. I want to kill him," she tells him with the gun to her head. "I think I did it. I think I killed McTier." The doctor tells her that it's okay because he was a bad man. She still can't remember. He tries to get her to go to the moment that he was killed and he tries to use imagery for her to remember the night McTier was killed. "The faded cross there," the doctor says. "He deserved to die." Lisbon stops and drops the gun and wipes her face. her attitude has completely changed. She never told him about the crime scene, but he knew about the cross.

"Oh, beautifully done. Lovely work, Lisbon," Jane says as he walks down from his hiding place on the stairs. Carmen got her fingerprints from the coffee cups and he put drugs in her coffee. She'd have failed the polygraph test because she doesn't remember. Jane knew that if under hypnosis she didn't remember then he knew it was definitely drugs. Lisbon then slugs him and cuffs him. Jane is quite amused.

They manage to arrest everyone that was involved in the shooting and the framing. The man that Lisbon was supposed to testify against paid them all to frame Lisbon for McTier's murder.

Bosco goes to see Lisbon. Minelli is billing Lisbon for the glass. "You know for a cop, you made a very convincing lunatic. Jane must be proud." Lisbon really did enjoy it. Bosco tells her that he wished that she'd come to him with the plan, he would have gladly helped. He moves closer to her. "You should know, if it had turned out to be you---" Bosco tells her. "I know," she says and then Jane appears with donuts. "I didn't see it, of course," Jane says. "He's in love with you."
