At my friend’s farm in South Hadley, Massachusetts. My first experience at an American one and man I loved it. Fed horses too! One particular horse was bent upon showing me his butt, but eventually he came around. Literally.

4th of July fireworks in my town. I had greater pleasure at looking them zoomed in rather than wide. I am going to try some bokeh the next time. I love fireworks. They make me happy and give me goosebumps.

It’s only glass

At Corning Glass Museum, New York. There was SO MUCH glass all over – even spending 3 hours there did not justice. It was impressive to see what all can be done on molten glass to generate beautiful, beautiful things. Seen here is very ancient glass, a little after the pyramids, if I am not wrong. Kudos to the people who figured it out that molten sand can be so wonderful. Photography indoors was particularly difficult with micro-shakes happening very easily in low light. Thanks to my 35mm f/1.8, it was a breeze. I cannot imagine taking such pictures with the 18-105mm kit lens.

Fireworks at Niagara

The first day of fireworks in Niagara Falls this year. I have been wanting to see this for four years now and I finally got to watch them. I love fireworks in the sky. A lot.

Maple trees have started having full leaves as a sign of the arrival of summer. I need to work on my photos involving the sun. Tips anyone?

Hope, joy and wonder

A multitude of emotions portrayed by tribal kids in Purulia district, West Bengal (India). They were thrilled to see outsiders in their village who took an interest in them, not their parents. They actually loved going to school. The Nutanhat Development Project – educating lesser privileged kids in ten villages of Purulia – is funded by Association of India’s Development, Penn State.

A livelihood

Taken during Taste of India, an Indian food festival organized by Association for India’s Development Penn State. Women from lesser privileged areas do this handiwork and this sells like hot cakes in the US. Money raised from this event goes towards socio-economic development in India.
