There is also a built-in registry scanner which identifies possible problems in the registry and fixes them. CCleaner can even back up your Registry before clean up, in case it accidentally removes a crucial component. Rather than entering Control Panel to use the Add / Remove Programs option, simply choose the programs to be removed and CCleaner does the rest.

Cons
CCleaner includes an optional Yahoo toolbar that you may involutarily choose to install along with the program, if you are not cautious enough. Installing this toolbar could trigger alerts from certain anti-spyware. Moreover, the registry scanning function of CCleaner is not deep enough and the software lacks a secure file shredder as well. Also, CCleaner does not support a large number of extraneous programs (as do some competitive utilities).

Conclusion
Overall, CCleaner is a good application, though it is still not ready for Windows Vista. An efficient tool, it is a must for all Windows users, and even though it is a freeware, it has no adware or spyware. All in all, CCleaner a great tonic for your computer. As it clearly shows what has been cleaned, you are re-assured that it will not delete valuable stuff.

Upon doing so, however, Andrew shows up at the office and confesses his love for her in front of the entire office staff, proposing marriage all over again.

When high-powered book editor Margaret faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she's actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew, who she's tormented for years. He agrees to participate in the charade, but with a few conditions of his own. The unlikely couple heads to Alaska to meet his quirky family and the always-in-control city girl finds herself in one comedic fish-out-of-water situation after another. JetAudio Basic is an application developed by Cowon, a PMP (portable media player) manufacturer. This application is actually a sample of the application that could be found in their PMPs. But since it was built to be implemented in PC, additional features have become available.

JetAudio may sound like an application for audio only. But the application is actually a one-stop-shop for almost any media file format. The application can play major audio and video files in just one application. The application also has the ability to convert audio files into the file format preferred by users. JetAudio even has the ability to record audio from various sources including analog sources. With the addition of audio editing tools for special effects, the application practically has everything the user needs to control media in their PCs.

But the features that could be found from JetAudio don’t stop there. The application could also be used as a CD burner. Users can simply point the files found by the application that needs to be burned on CD. It doesn’t have any DVD burning features yet, but it is already useful especially for simple burning of audio files into CD.

The downside of the application is on its complexity. Because there are too many functions available in the application, users have to be familiar with basic functions first before becoming fully comfortable with JetAudio.

The basic version of the application is the free version of the application. A pro version is available which comes with additional codecs and tools for better audio and video manipulation.

CubeVision Timer is basically what its name says – a timer. After download, the application will launch without any problem complete with interface. Although its sole function is being a timer, it’s a straightforward application that will work without any glitch.

The interface is very easy to understand. The three major buttons (start, stop and reset) could be easily found and their reaction to commands is instantaneous. Another function named “ToString” is also added. This function basically allows users to export their records for future references. You can copy the records in your timer and save them in your preferred word processing document.

The application comes in three sizes: small, medium and large. But even with the variety in sizes, the small sized timer should be more than enough to help users actively monitor the timer. The large sized timer is recommended only for those who wanted to use the timer in most parts of the screen.

Although CubeVision Timer is able to do its purpose without any problem, there should have been key additions. First is the option to let the application stay on top. This should have been very helpful especially when you’re timing what you’re actively doing on your computer. The second is the required .Net Framework. While many computers already have .Net Framework installed in their computers, some who do not have the framework pre-installed will most likely look for other timer applications.

But if you already have a .Net Framework installed in your computer, the Timer by CubeVision is a great application because of its simplicity and stability.

Synopsis: The opening scene begins in a forested area lashed by heavy rain at night. Amid the thick foliage we see a sniper in camouflage perched in a tree, as he trains his sights at a hut in the forest. Beneath him is another sniper, who sees three men talking outside the hut. The scene shifts to a nearby road where a uniformed police officer, OJ (Edison Chen) was checking some parked vehicles together with his partner. They hear over the radio a description of a suspicious vehicle, and are surprised to discover it at their location. OJ touches the vehicle to see if it is warm, and looks around, spotting a hut in the distance, the same one the snipers are observing. As OJ and his partner approach the hut, the snipers spotted them. One of them, Hartman (Richie Ren) suggests assisting the officers if necessary. His partner, Shan Ge (Bowie Lam) reminds him that they are only on an observation mission and should not reveal themselves. Hartman considers action necessary as the situation has changed unexpectedly.

Synopsis: After the mysterious death of his Aunt, a confirmed skeptic lawyer, Bryan Becket, dismisses reports that her house is haunted and moves in. Immediately occurrences begin he cannot explain. And beyond the occurrences there is something about the house which gnaws at Becket - some strange connection he senses he has with the house's past. Soon, the haunting turns personal, he hears voices suggesting clues to a deep mystery. He questions his sanity, seeks medical help, but instead finds assistance in a young psychic who immediately declares, "There's a very bad secret in this house." Together they embark on a terrifying journey to uncover the secret - a journey which leads them deep into the recesses of The Skeptic's own troubled mind.

Free Audio and Recorder Audacity is an open source freeware which you can easily use to edit and record audio. It is developed to be operational in Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating system. It is an open source free software means anyone can study and use its available source code. Example of other open source freeware including OpenOffice.org and Mozilla Firefox internet browser. Below are the features of Audacity free audio editor and recorder.

Editing

* Easy editing with Cut, Copy, Paste, and Delete.
* Use unlimited Undo (and Redo) to go back any number of steps.
* Very fast editing of large files.
* Edit and mix an unlimited number of tracks.
* Use the Drawing tool to alter individual sample points.
* Fade the volume up or down smoothly with the Envelope tool.

Import and Export

Import sound files, edit them, and combine them with other files or new recordings. Export your recordings in several common file formats.

* Import and export WAV, AIFF, AU, and Ogg Vorbis files.
* Import MPEG audio (including MP2 and MP3 files) with libmad.
* Export MP3s with the optional LAME encoder library.
* Create WAV or AIFF files suitable for burning to CD.
* Import and export all file formats supported by libsndfile.
* Open raw (headerless) audio files using the “Import Raw” command.
* Note: Audacity does not currently support WMA, AAC, or most other proprietary or restricted file formats.

Effects

* Change the pitch without altering the tempo, or vice-versa.
* Remove static, hiss, hum, or other constant background noises.
* Alter frequencies with Equalization, FFT Filter, and Bass Boost effects.
* Adjust volumes with Compressor, Amplify, and Normalize effects.
* Other built-in effects include:
o Echo
o Phaser
o Wahwah
o Reverse

Sound Quality

* Record and edit 16-bit, 24-bit, and 32-bit (floating point) samples.
* Record at up to 96 KHz.
* Sample rates and formats are converted using high-quality resampling and dithering.
* Mix tracks with different sample rates or formats, and Audacity will convert them automatically in realtime.

Recording

Audacity can record live audio through a microphone or mixer, or digitize recordings from cassette tapes, vinyl records, or minidiscs. With some sound cards, it can also capture streaming audio.

* Record from microphone, line input, or other sources.
* Dub over existing tracks to create multi-track recordings.
* Record up to 16 channels at once (requires multi-channel hardware).
* Level meters can monitor volume levels before, during, and after recording.

Free and Cross-Platform

* Licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
* Runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and GNU/Linux.

Analysis

* Spectrogram mode for visualizing frequencies.
* “Plot Spectrum” command for detailed frequency analysis.

Plug-Ins

* Add new effects with LADSPA plugins.
* Audacity includes some sample plugins by Steve Harris.
* Load VST plugins for Windows and Mac, with the optional VST Enabler.
* Write new effects with the built-in Nyquist programming language.
