This came through the Google machine today and just it’s description made my mouth water and I knew, I KNEW, I was going to be sharing it with all of you tonight!

Candied Bacon and Genoa Panini

Ingredients:

  • ½ sweet onion
  • ½ each red, green and yellow peppers
  • 8 strips of bacon
  • 4 slices Genoa salami
  • 4 slices tomato
  • Boston butter lettuce
  • 4 slices Fontina cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ c brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp white wine
  • dash of salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp per panini balsamic glaze
  • 1 tsp per panini dried basil
  • 2 tbsp chopped roasted garlic
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp white sugar

Directions:

Yeah, I don’t know how I feel about this. Not diggin’ the costume, Dennis Leary as Capt. Stacey? Lizard looks kinda cheesy (and the photos I’ve seen from early merchandise doesn’t help boost my confidence around him either). On the other hand, every shot I’ve seen of Spidey flying through New York has been pretty impressive. Man, I just don’t know…my nerd senses are tinglin’.

So there you go, just minutes from The Daily Bacon World Headquarters, we’re gonna have ourselves a good old fashioned pork party!

Tickets are on sale now for $45 with V.I.P. going for $75 (you get double drink tickets and a gift bag!).  Things appear to still be in the early stages, but I’d suggest gettin’ in on the ground floor and get those tickets early.
