Cocktail Training Classes

From 2nd April 2012 we will be running cocktail training classes in our upstairs bar every Monday. This is a great way to learn a new skill in an informal way. The classes will be run by one of our expert bartenders and will cost £15 every week. In each class you will learn to make two different cocktails, as well as picking up some of the tricks of the trade we use every day. Once you’ve picked up a few of our recipes you’ll be dazzling your friends in no time!

National Chip Week!

It’s National Chip Week again! ”Already?” I hear you ask. Well, yes it is. We thought it would be a great idea to try and give you something a little different this year, so all week we will be giving you the option of sweet potato fries! These little beauties will have you crying our for more in no time. If you’re especially nice and our chefs are feeling the love we could be tempted to whipping up a sweet potato and bravas sauce tapas dish, or boniato bravas if you will.

Carlsberg Pub Cup

We’re looking for people to represent The Cloud Bar in the Carlsberg Pub Cup. It’s a 5 – side tournament and the final is held at the Emirates Stadium. The winner of the final will get a trip to Kiev for a match against some European legends. We can enter as many teams of 6 as we can put together, just head to www.carlsberg.co.uk/pubcup and enter the code 10896 when prompted.

Coriander Facts and Tips

Coriander is a great herb that can make the right dishes taste absolutely delicious! But, sometimes it can be an absolute bugger to grow/keep alive! So heres a few helpful hints on how to keeping your wonderful herb healthy and making your great recipes taste superior!

Coriander loves to be cool and it’s favorite months are during those that fall through the autumn, winter and spring seasons. However, it does like the sun (which is definitely a tricky process here in sunny England), so make sure that where ever your planting or placing your coriander that it has lots of sun and is out of the way from all that blistering heat it hates so much!

Make sure that the coriander’s container or pot is slightly lifted, or on legs so that when you are watering, the water can drain through. Be sure to provide your coriander with enough water, but don’t drown it, and if your really keen! Coriander likes a little bit of fertilizer now and again.

And just incase you were wondering, heres a little fact about coriander!

‘Coriander is believed to be one of the most ancient herbs, as evidenced by references as far back as 1550 B.C. It was also mentioned in the Bible and found in tombs of pharaohs’
