Garden Sala in Bangkok - Part 1

Thai Garden Design recently designed and constructed a large, modern style garden sala at the home of an expat residing in Bangkok. Amongst other garden changes, the sala represented possibly the most important aspect of the build, being that the owner wanted to change the character of his garden, from one that used the lawn for play, to a garden that could use this area for relaxing.

(pic above: notice the white house in the background, which becomes covered by the sala roof, in the picture below). The sala design consisted of an adjacent pond, with waterfall, built in seating around x2 sides, crazy paved steps, a large cupboard for the BBQ, a tiled floor, guttering (linked to the pond) and fitted electrics for lights, fans, and the pond pump.

Improving your Side Garden at your House in Thailand

Many side gardens at houses in Thailand are designed and executed by the building companies responsible for the house... Often you find that, not a lot of thought goes into them; and many times there is hardly any difference between one or another. In many examples, grass is also poor, and planting beds are rudimentary or dull.

In this example above, taken at a home in Pattaya, the owner was fed up with the side garden. The paving type was awkward to use, the grass was thin and patchy, and the side planting was samey samey and not very exciting. So the Thai Garden Design Team arrived and got to work.

This side garden has improved dramatically with more colourful and interesting planting, and a new grass type has been introduced that is thicker and greener. The paving was also replaced with a laterite chess-board design that is nice to look at, hard wearing, and very easy to walk on.

Rock Waterfall and Pond for Pattaya Condominium Complex

Thai Garden Design were recently awarded the opportunity to construct a new rock waterfall concept at the front of a sales office for an exclusive condominium development in Jomtien, Pattaya. The owner specified that the waterfall was to add real 'wow' factor to the area, and therefore help potential clients enjoy the gardens and relax before talking to the sales team.

The team also designed and built the large, surrounding gardens, on a tight time scale (more later).

After the initial concept was agreed, the install team got to work and began the build.

In total, the construction took just 5 days, and met the owners brief, and expectations. The waterfall is now the main attraction of the garden, and helps the condominium sales staff greatly to impress potential new customers, and sign off new business.
