La tercera edición de WantedDesign 2013 se lleva a cabo hasta este 20 de Mayo en NYC con una gran presencia de artistas y diseñadores internacionales, muchos de ellos Latin@s. Desde talleres hasta conversaciones con los diseñadores presentes y una gran muestra que toma las instalaciones del Terminal Stores de la Avenida 11 en Chelsea, WantedDesign comienza hoy, Mayo 17.

WantedDesign is a creative destination for the design community with innovative installations, student workshops, engaging discourse and more. The third edition will feature a strongly curated exhibition of international designers (many latinos among them) along with a rich conversation series, design workshops, a pop-up store, convivial lounges and more.
WantedDesign offers participants and visitors alike with a unique and dynamic international design experience. WantedDesign is the meeting point for designers, manufacturers, industrials, craftsmen, students, design institutions, the press and all design lovers. WantedDesign is also playing a strong role, with our partners, to make NYCxDESIGN more dynamic and transform New York into a real design destination.
The event is taking place at the landmark Terminal Stores building on 11th Avenue between 27th and 28th streets.

BARACK OBAMA: COMO MEJORAR NUESTRA ALIANZA CON AMERICA LATINA

El Presidente Barack Obama acaba de terminar un corto pero significativo viaje a México y Costa Rica. Además de las reuniones bilaterales sostenidas con los presidentes Chinchilla y Peña Nieto, el presidente Obama se reunió con los presidentes de los paises centroamericanos miembros de SICA, el órgano regional de integración.

Visita significativa porque se lanza a comienzos de su segunda presidencia y porque comienza a articularse una relación más estrecha a todo nivel en el continente, sobre todo a nivel económico y educativo y no solo a nivel del tema narcotráfico, tan dominante en las relaciones bilaterales hasta el momento.
Su visita fue un llamado a los jóvenes: 'Tu eres el sueño' les dijo en Ciudad de México. También fue un llamado a romper los estereotipos y a trabajar juntos: 'Hagamos más cosas juntos'.

El comienzo de una verdadera visión de integración continental? Sería bueno y necesario.

Cómo mejorar nuestra alianza con América Latina

La semana pasada, tuve el gusto de visitar México por cuarta vez desde que soy Presidente y de reunirme con los líderes centroamericanos en Costa Rica. Tuve la oportunidad de reafirmar nuestra amistad con una región en la que decenas de millones de inmigrantes y de estadounidenses tienen sus raíces.

También fue una oportunidad para destacar el progreso impresionante que se está logrando en América Latina, que es una de las regiones más dinámicas del mundo, y de forjar nuevas alianzas que contribuirán a mejorar las vidas de todos nuestros habitantes.

Fui allí porque este es un momento de gran promesa para nuestro hemisferio. Actualmente, casi todos los pueblos de las Américas viven en democracias. América Latina tiene algunas de las economías de más rápido crecimiento en el mundo. Y, a través de toda la región, decenas de millones de gente han dejado atrás la pobreza y han llegado a la clase media.

Esto representa una oportunidad increíble para todos nuestros países, especialmente en cuanto a mi prioridad principal, que es crear buenos empleos de clase media aquí en los Estados Unidos. Esto se debe a que, tal como lo presencié en mi visita al puerto de Miami en marzo, una de las mejores maneras de hacerlo es expandiendo el comercio que nos permita vender más productos alrededor del mundo.

Ahora mismo, más del 40 por ciento de nuestras exportaciones van hacia México, América Central y del Sur, y dichas exportaciones están aumentando más rápido que nuestro comercio con el resto del mundo. Eso está creando más empleos aquí en los Estados Unidos, pero también está beneficiando a la gente de todo el hemisferio. Los Estados Unidos son la fuente mayor de inversión extranjera en las Américas. Y los tratados comerciales que he firmado con Colombia y con Panamá están creando nuevos mercados para las empresas en nuestros países.

Una de las relaciones más significativas y más dinámicas es con México. Los Estados Unidos son el mayor cliente de México, ya que compramos la mayor parte de las exportaciones de México, y México es el segundo mercado mayor para las exportaciones de los EE.UU., pues compra más de $200 mil millones en productos Hechos en EE.UU. cada año. Nuestras compañías y trabajadores ensamblan productos juntos. Todo esto apoya millones más de empleos en ambos países.

Yo creo que hay aun más que la gente de los Estados Unidos y de México pueden construir conjuntamente. Por eso es que el Presidente Peña Nieto y yo nos comprometimos a expandir el comercio y las inversiones y a crear aun más empleos para nuestra gente.

Yo les expresé un mensaje similar a la Presidente Chinchilla de Costa Rica y a otros líderes centroamericanos. Durante los últimos seis años, las exportaciones de EE.UU. a las naciones centroamericanas han aumentado en más del 94 por ciento, y las importaciones de esos países han aumentado en cerca del 87 por ciento. El crecimiento económico en general está reforzando los logros políticos y sociales que tanto costaron conseguir en las últimas dos décadas. Y por eso es que yo reafirmé el apoyo y el compromiso sólidos de los Estados Unidos a crear una América Central más próspera.

Eso es importante, porque el crecimiento económico en términos generales no solo crea más empleos y oportunidad en esos países, sino que también reduce la inmigración ilegal a los Estados Unidos. La reforma migratoria de sentido común es una de mis principales prioridades. El proyecto de ley que se presentó en el Senado no incluye todo lo que yo deseo, pero es mayormente consistente con los principios que yo he planteado, que son mejor seguridad en la frontera, un camino a la ciudadanía, y un sistema de inmigración legal que una a las familias y que atraiga a trabajadores sumamente capacitados. Y tengo la esperanza de que este año podamos hacer realidad la reforma migratoria general.

Actualmente, decenas de millones de estadounidenses pueden rastrear sus orígenes a México y a América Central. Millones de trabajadores se ganan la vida en buenos empleos que han sido posibles dado el comercio entre nuestras naciones. Los Estados Unidos es un país más próspero y más diverso gracias a nuestras alianzas con nuestros vecinos hacia el sur. Y tengo la seguridad de que podemos aprovechar nuestra herencia común, nuestra relación económica y nuestros valores compartidos para enriquecer las vidas de toda nuestra gente.

El Museo del Bronx celebra sus 40 años de fundado con Honey, I Rearranged The Collection; American Legends: From Calder to O’Keeffe sigue en el Whitney y en el Frick veremos a Piero della Francesca, figura fundacional del Renacimiento. La Galería Magnan Metz presenta a Alexandre Arrechea al aire libre, en el Mall de la Park Avenue.

* Back Tomorrow: Federico García Lorca / Poet in New York > New York Public Library > Hasta Julio 20 > Lorca.

In June 1929, at a time when young writers and painters dreamed of living in Paris, Federico García Lorca (1898–1936), Spain’s greatest modern poet and playwright, broke boldly with tradition and sailed for New York. His nine months here, followed by three months in Havana, changed his vision of poetry, the theater, and the social role of the artist.
Lorca came to New York to study English but devoted himself instead to writing Poet in New York, a howl of protest against racial bigotry, mindless consumption, and the adoration of technology. “What we call civilization, he called slime and wire,” the critic V. S. Pritchett once wrote. But Lorca’s book reaches beyond New York—“this maddening, boisterous Babel”—into the depths of the psyche, in a search for wholeness and redemption.
In 1936, the poet left the manuscript of Poet in New York on the desk of his Madrid publisher with a note saying he would be “back tomorrow,” probably to discuss final details. He never returned. Weeks later, at the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, he was brutally murdered by fascist elements in Granada, his body thrown into an unmarked mass grave. The book was published posthumously in 1940, but the manuscript mysteriously disappeared, lost to scholars for decades. The Fundación Federico García Lorca in Madrid and The New York Public Library exhibit it now for the first time, together with drawings, photographs, letters, and mementos—traces of a Poet in New York . . . and of New York in a poet.

A Common Homeland: an Illustrated Delibes is a journey through the universe of Miguel Delibes, told through the gaze and voice of his child protagonists, memorable characters who offer us the purest and most intuitive vision of life. Fifteen sections in this exhibit reflect the constant themes of the author's life, a short of miniature "all men`s land" that together make up our "common homeland." The texts selected here have been taken from ten of Miguel Delibes' works written between 1947 and 1989, and they introduce us to boys and girls of every age, origin, social class and character.

Playing on the idea of elastic architecture as a metaphor for the challenges and opportunities of shifting conditions and new realities, No Limits will present 10 massive sculptures embodying New York's most prominent buildings. Iconic landmarks represented will include: the Chrysler Building, Citicorp Center, Empire State Building, Flatiron building, Helmsley Building, MetLife Building, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower, Seagram Building, Sherry Netherland, and US Courthouse. The sculptures, which will appear to roll, wind, and spin their way down Park Avenue from 53rd to 67th Street, will reach towering heights of up to 20 feet.

Throughout his work, artist Alexandre Arrechea uses sculpture, watercolor and video to ponder the idea of destabilizing traditional concepts held about icons and their function in society. The art is meant to create a dialogue with the public that raises questions of control, power, surveillance and one's role within these categories. Through iconic architectural buildings and urban spaces, Arrechea plays and entices the viewer to explore this concept.

Among the most distinctive portraits by Diego Velázquez is one he painted of Francesco I d'Este (1610–58), the Duke of Modena, during the duke's visit to Madrid in 1638 to secure the support of Philip IV. The duke is shown in armor, wearing a red sash, his head turned toward the viewer. It is a work that conveys a quality of arrogance and sensuality, and is a high watermark in the history of baroque portraiture, while also illustrating the importance of Velázquez's portraits to Spanish diplomacy. In 1843 the painting was acquired by the Galleria Estense—one of the most prestigious of Italy's regional museums—in Modena, Italy, and it has never before been lent to an institution in the United States. This special, three-month loan coincides with the re-installation of the Metropolitan's collection of Old Master paintings. It not only makes accessible to an American public one of the least known of Velázquez's works, but also calls attention to the severe damage suffered throughout the Italian region of Emilia Romagna after a devastating earthquake in May 2012. The Galleria Estense has been temporarily closed due to the damage it sustained.

* Xul Solar and Jorge Luis Borges: The Art of Friendship > Abril 18 - Julio 20 > Americas Society Gallery > ASG.

This will be the first solo exhibition in New York dedicated to painter, writer, and occultist Xul Solar, born Oscar Agustín Alejandro Schulz Solari (1887-1963). The show will offer an in-depth examination of the public and private aspects of Solar's long friendship and vigorous exchange of ideas with famed writer and fellow Argentine Jorge Luis Borges. The central concept of the exhibition will explore how a friendship—a private, intimate affair—can affect public cultural and intellectual discourse. Solar and Borges' influences on each other led to groundbreaking artistic work produced by them individually and collaboratively. The exhibition will feature a selection of Xul Solar's exquisite early paintings as well as collaborative publications, translations, objects, and artistic interventions in books by the two friends. Public programs will include cross-disciplinary events and a panel discussion featuring Maria Kodama, Sergio Baur, Patricia Artundo, and Silvia Molloy, as well as poetry readings by Lila Zemborain and Cecilia Vicuña. Americas Society will also produce a fully illustrated publication to accompany the exhibition.
Solar and Borges met in 1924 after both had independently traveled throughout Europe where they spent a decade after World War I, and returned to Buenos Aires just when a literary and artistic avant-garde movement was beginning to take hold. They were part of the circle of writers and artists associated with the avant-garde magazine Martin Fierro, which was active until 1927. The martinfierristas were part of the Argentine generation whose artistic and political efforts were focused on defining and exploring their national identity through cosmopolitan means. They embraced a universal identity linked to Europe, but also sought to establish a uniquely Argentine national identity grounded in the rural mythology of the gauchos, the iconic Argentine cattlemen. These concepts are central to Borges' early work. Solar's paintings include a number of nationalist symbols dating back to pre-Hispanic times as well as words from two languages he invented to be Argentine, yet universal. Another major theme in Solar’s work is spiritualism and fantasy. He developed a method of painting with watercolors and crayons which he used to create colorful and fantastical works that blended metaphysical ideas about the invisible world with his interests in constructing a national identity and reinventing language.

Nature is the main source of inspiration: its resemblance to the human body, the exuberance of color and form, the vulnerability of live matter, the visual and symbolic richness of the elements, these are the subjects which inspire this body of work. By accumulation and saturation, the thread acquires volume, giving birth to tridimensional forms and infinite shades of color.
The sowing hands don’t try to control the shapes that they create, they become guardians of their quiet growth through the darning, allowing chance to intervene in the process.

This exhibition explores the layered meanings and interpretations of the real as it is represented in photography and video art. Drawing on the presentation of the landscape, the human figure, the world of architecture, various objects and natural phenomena, these images explore alternative realities despite their use of the photographic or video image, traditionally understood as a reflection of actuality. superreal features works that challenge the notion of the camera’s lens as presenting visual accuracy and explores the subversion of narrative form, the creation of a parallel reality, surreal or super-real encounters with objects, people and environments. Partial, hidden, or enigmatic meanings are explored by the artists gathered here. Iconic works by significant photographers and video artists are included along with newer works by younger artists. The incisive points of view and varied methodologies seen here allow the artists to create works that explore the limits of narrative form and its relationship to reality. The works, ranging in dates from the early 1960s to the present, reveal the various ways in which the real is emphasized and subverted, revealed and obscured.

* HONEY, I REARRANGED THE COLLECTION > Celebrating 40 years > Hasta Junio 2 > BRONX.

Created in 1986, the Bronx Museum Permanent Collection has assembled over the years a remarkable group of artworks that convey not only personal narratives but also incisive insights onto contemporary life. For this exhibition, we took inspiration from Allen Ruppersberg's ongoing series Honey, I rearranged the Collection initiated in 2000 and that puts in check the role of institutions, curators and collectors as the bearers of tradition and arbiters of taste. Overlaying different traditions, styles, and narratives, Honey, I rearranged the Collection presents an idea of museum as a restless play of combination.

Honey, I Rearranged the Collection features artworks from the 40th Anniversary's 40 Years, 40 Gifts campaign, which has received support from Ford Foundation and the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Trust, as well as individual funders.

Revered in his own time as a "monarch" of painting, Piero della Francesca (1411/13–1492) is acknowledged today as a founding figure of the Italian Renaissance. The Frick Collection will present the first monographic exhibition in the United States dedicated to the artist. It brings together seven works by Piero della Francesca, including six panels from the Sant'Agostino altarpiece — the largest number from this masterwork ever reassembled. They will be joined by the Virgin and Child Enthroned with Attendant Angels, his only intact altarpiece in this country. Piero della Francesca in America is organized by guest curator and former Andrew W. Mellon Fellow Nathaniel Silver. The related catalogue will include essays by James Banker, Professor Emeritus, North Carolina State University; Machtelt Israëls, Guest Researcher, University of Amsterdam; Elena Squillantini, masters candidate, Università degli Studi di Firenze; and Giacomo Guazzini, doctoral candidate, Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa.

Exclusive to the Frick, where it will be shown in the Oval Room, this important exhibition will also be accompanied by a rich and varied schedule of lectures, gallery talks, and seminars.

American Legends: From Calder to O’Keeffe showcases the Whitney’s deep holdings of artwork from the first half of the twentieth century by the eighteen leading artists: Oscar Bluemner, Charles Burchfield, Paul Cadmus, Alexander Calder, Joseph Cornell, Ralston Crawford, Stuart Davis, Arthur Dove, Charles Demuth, Marsden Hartley, Edward Hopper, Gaston Lachaise, Jacob Lawrence, John Marin, Reginald Marsh, Elie Nadelman, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Joseph Stella. Organized as one- and two-artist presentations, this exhibition provides a survey of each artist’s work across a range of mediums.American Legends is organized by Barbara Haskell, Curator.

Picasso Black and White, the first major exhibition to focus on the artist’s lifelong exploration of a black-and-white palette throughout his career, will be presented at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The exhibition features 118 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from 1904 to 1971, and will offer new and striking insights into Picasso’s vision and working methods. This chronological presentation includes significant loans—many of which have not been exhibited or published before—drawn from museum, private, and public collections across Europe and the United States, including numerous works from the Picasso family.

La acción de la obra atraviesa cincuenta años y la historia se presenta en una serie de escenas repletas de movimiento, poesía, canciones y momentos de exuberante dramatismo. The final section of the spire is on top of One World Trade Center or Liberty Tower making it the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.

The spire will help the skyscraper soar 1,776 feet into the sky as a patriotic reference to the year the Declaration of Independence was adopted by Congress.

Before the spire was put in place the tower stood at 1,368 feet above the lobby level (the height of the original World Trade Center’s North Tower).

I have been documenting the rise of Liberty Tower and today I want to share the pictures I was able to take yesterday walking down the Hudson River Park and Battery Park.

Porque Venezuela está cansada de las mentiras y del maltrato del gobierno ilegitimo, queremos protestar en apoyo a los trabajadores públicos que han perdido sus trabajos por pensar distinto, a nuestros diputados a quienes les han quitado el derecho de palabra y todo venezolano que trabaja con miedo.

PUNTO CENTRAL DE LA PROTESTA SERÁ LA LECTURA EN PÚBLICO DE LOS MULTIPLES ABUSOS RECHAZADOS Y LA CEREMONIA POR LA LIBERTAD DE EXPRESION EN DONDE LOS PARTICIPANTES SE TAPARÁN LA BOCA POR 10 MINUTOS PARA DENUNCIAR LA GRAVEDAD DE LA SITUACIÓN VENEZOLANA.

La lamentable situación venezolana puede resumirse así:

Abusos a los Trabajadores:

- Cientos de Contratos Colectivos (más de 400) de las empresas estatales no han sido renovados en varios años.

- Decenas de sindicalistas han sido asesinados en todo el país.

- El salario mínimo no alcanza ni siquiera para adquirir la canasta básica de alimentos.

- Han cerrado más de 170 mil empresas en la última década.

- Los despidos de trabajadores del sector público por razones políticas se han incrementado desde el pasado 14 de Abril. Trabajadores despedidos por votar por el candidato Capriles.

Libertad de Expresión:

- Dominio mediático del gobierno ilegítimo supera el 60%.

- Uso abusivo de la televisión y medios públicos como medios propagandísticos del régimen.

- Amedrantamiento a los canales privados que no se someten al régimen ( VV, Televen )

- Continuos ataques a Globovisión, único canal independiente ( Un % ya ha sido comprado por testaferros del gobierno).

- Amendrantamiento a los trabajadores del periodismo, la cultura y el entretenimiento que se oponen al régimen.

- Represión, encarcelamiento y abusos físicos y mentales (posibles actos de tortura) a los estudiantes que manifiestan pacíficamente y a disidentes políticos tales como el General retirado Antonio Rivero.

- Los parlamentarios opositores no tienen derecho de palabra y han sido violentamente atacados en la Asamblea Nacional. Esto es un golpe parlamentario.

Elecciones Fraudulentas:

- El uso abusivo por parte del régimen de los recursos de la nación.

- La coacción al voto tanto a los empleados públicos como a beneficiarios de subsidios del estado.

- El abuso del voto asistido y el sufragio ejercido por multi-cedulados.

- La actuación indebida de las milicias, algunos efectivos militares y funcionarios del CNE en los centros de votación.

- Mas de 4500 irregularidades denunciadas.

- El rechazo a una auditoria transparente según los términos acordados y la ley vigente.

Se invita a los venezolanos del area de Nueva York y a todos los amantes de la libertad, la verdad y la democracia a acompañarnos. Porque los venezolanos no pararemos de Luchar por la Verdad, Únete!.

Siete de los más respetados dramaturgos españoles visitan Nueva York con motivo del Festival PEN World Voices de Literatura Internacional para presentarse en el Segal Center. Los dramaturgos Ernesto Caballero, Guillem Clua, Cristina Colmena, Mar Gómez Glez, Borja Ortiz de Gondra, Alfredo Sanzol, y Emilio Williams presentarán las lecturas de sus trabajos traducidos al inglés, que a su vez serán representadas por actores y directores estadounidenses bajo la dirección de Julián Mesri (Fuenteovejuna/Repertorio Español) y Sarah Rose Leonard, miembro del programa de investigación Segal Center Next Generation. Este programa de lecturas se realiza el 29 y 30 de abril en el CUNY Graduate Center, 365 de la Quinta Avenida.

El Retrato de Francisco I d'Este, una de las pinturas menos conocida de Velázquez, estará por primera vez en los Estados Unidos en el Museo Metropolitano de Nueva York hasta el 14 de Julio. La pintura estará en exhibición como parte de la nueva re-instalación de la Colección de 'Old Masters' del museo.

Es del mundo sabido que las recién celebradas elecciones presidenciales en Venezuela se distanciaron mucho de lo que se espera de una Democracia funcional. Las más de 4000 denuncias de irregularidades y otras violaciones de la Ley de Procesos Electorales y sus reglamentos que recibió el Comando Simon Bolivar, además del estrecho margen de menos de 2% de diferencia de los resultados anunciados hace ineludible la realización de una auditoria como lo exige el artículo 156 de la Ley Orgánica de Procesos Electorales, el cual establece la auditoria como medio de verificación de todos los recursos electorales para garantizar la transparencia y confiabilidad del proceso.

Entre los abusos reportados y penados por las leyes vigentes venezolanas se encuentran: la utilización por parte del candidato del partido de gobierno de los recursos de la nación, la coacción tanto a los empleados públicos como a beneficiarios de subsidios del estado, el abuso del voto asistido y el sufragio ejercido por multi-cedulados y la actuación indebida de efectivos militares y funcionarios del CNE en los centros de votación, con la única finalidad de impedir el derecho al voto libre y secreto.

Además de la violación de la Constitución y Leyes de Venezuela, las pasadas elecciones presidenciales violan el principio democrático consagrado en los artículos 21 de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos, el artículo 25 del Pacto Internacional de Derechos Civiles y Políticos, el artículo 3 de la Carta Democrática Interamericana, los artículos 10 y 12 de la Declaración Universal de Democracia de 1997, y el artículo 23 de la Convención Americana sobre Derechos Humanos, los cuales establecen que el Estado venezolano está internacionalmente obligado a celebrar elecciones periódicas, libres, justas y basadas en el sufragio universal.

LA PROTESTA COMENZO HOY 16 DE ABRIL A LAS 2 PM FRENTE AL CONSULADO DE VENEZUELA EN NYC UBICADO EN LA CALLE 51 ENTRE LAS AVENIDAS QUINTA Y MADISON Y SE EXTENDERA DURANTE LOS PROXIMOS DIAS SIGUIENDO LOS ACONTECIMIENTOS QUE SE PRODUZCAN EN VENEZUELA.

Venezuela ha sido sumida en una crisis de repercusiones inimaginables por los abusos de un régimen que ha secuestrado el aparato republicano y que pretende seguir dilapidando el patrimonio colectivo usurpando sus funciones. Esto debe acabar.

En las elecciones del 14 de abril el 94% de los venezolanos de la región servida por el Consulado de NYC ( 7 estados aledaños) votaron por Henrique Capriles y ahora esa comunidad le exige al consulado venezolano que les represente y que tramite esta demanda colectiva de conteo manual de los votos de las recién finalizadas elecciones presidenciales entre Henrique Capriles y Nicolas Maduro ante el CNE y los organismos competentes.

También le hace un llamado a todos los venezolanos del mundo para que se organicen y convoquen manifestaciones ante los consulados Y embajadas de sus respectivos países y ante los organismos internacionales pertinentes.

Los venezolanos del mundo repudiamos el fraude y el abuso sistemático aplicado por el régimen para mantenerse en el poder desconociendo la voluntad popular expresada en el voto el pasado 14 de Abril.

VENEZUELA VOTA POR EL CAMBIO!

Hoy se elige nuevo presidente en Venezuela. Hoy comienza una nueva era que esperamos sea liderada por Henrique Capriles. Es lo menos que merece ese pedacito de tierra en el norte de América del Sur. Se reportan más de un millón de venezolanos viviendo fuera del país.

De ellos, un poco más cien mil están inscritos para ejercer el voto. Los venezolanos (as) están presentes en todos los paises del mundo pero Estados Unidos alberga a la comunidad más grande, seguido de España.

Nueva York cuenta con unos 3,600 venezolanos registrados para votar. En las elecciones del pasado 7 de Octubre votaron unos 2.500 electores. Hoy, Abril 14, alrededor de las 2pm ya habían votado un poco más de 1.500 electores, con un flujo permanente pero no abultado de electores.

CUANDO VENEZUELA CAMBIO EL RUMBO DE LA HISTORIA

Ha sido una temporada muy intensa para Venezuela. Este 14 de Abril se 'escoge' un nuevo presidente después de 14 años del régimen autocrático chavista. Si la avalancha de votos hace imposible otro fraude del castro-chavismo y si la alternativa democrática realmente se enfrenta al poder omnipresente del estado, Venezuela 'escogerá', de hecho, un nuevo presidente: Henrique Capriles. Y un nuevo futuro. Así también, la historia del mundo ya no será la misma.

Estados Unidos alberga la más grande comunidad de venezolanos fuera del país y Nueva York concentra una de sus grupos más activos. Solo esta semana se organizó Una Luz para Venezuela, una vigilia mundial por las víctimas de la violencia en el país. Además, al Arepazo Mundial que unió a todos los venezolanos del mundo, un grupo de venezolanos de Nueva York se reunieron en Times Square para cantarle a Venezuela, invitar al voto y apoyar la propuesta de Henrique Capriles un día antes de las elecciones.

Estas son algunas de las fotos y un video de la semana. Todos aqui desde Nueva York apoyamos la propuesta de Henrique Caporiles. La situación es difícil y exige medidas inmediatas, pero la energía democrática de Venezuela proveerá lo necesario para superar y recuperar tanto tiempo perdido. Venezuela merece esto y mucho más. Venezuela Gana!. La Sexta República es una República Progresista!.

They deserve a vote and they got one. The Senate voted (68 to 31) to begin debating a bill of gun control. Despite being supported by more than 90 % of all Americans and nearly as many gun-owning Americans, the NRA's opposition to common sense solutions is making it harder for Congress to get some legislation done.
The vote to proceed to the measure comes just one day after Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Pat Toomey (R-PA) announced a bipartisan agreement to require background checks for gun sales at gun shows and online websites. Under their amendment, sales of firearms in these venues will be treated in the same way as gun purchases at federally licensed gun shops: individuals will have to undergo background checks that will be recorded with a federal licensed dealer. “All personal transfers are not touched whatsoever,” Manchin said.
As Congress considers the measure and conservatives led by Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Rand Paul (R-KY) try to slow down debate, ThinkProgress put together this guide to the myths and misinformation surrounding background checks. Take a look:

MYTH
Background checks are ineffective and restrictive. Checks “would significantly restrict the rights of law-abiding Americans while doing little or nothing to protect against further gun violence.” [Sen. Mike Lee, 4/9/2013]

REALITY
Ninety percent of background checks can be completed in less than two minutes and the Manchin-Toomey proposal would expedite the process. Under the amendment, if a background check at a gun show does not result in a definitive response within 48 hours, the sale may proceed. After four years, the background check would be required to be conducted in 24 hours. Background checks have already contributed to violence reduction. In the 14 states and Washington D.C. that require background checks for private handgun sales (including Toomey’s home state of Pennsylvania): 38 percent fewer women are shot to death by intimate partners, 17 percent fewer firearms are involved in aggravated assaults, and 48 percent less gun trafficking.

MYTH
Criminals will avoid background checks. “My problem with background checks is, you’re never going to get criminals to go through universal background checks.” [Wayne LaPierre, 1/30/2013]

REALITY
From 1999 to 2009, 1.8 million people were blocked from purchasing guns after failing a background check because they had criminal records or suffered from mental illness. In fact, Seung Hui Cho, the shooter at Virginia Tech and Jared Loughner, who targeted Gabby Giffords, both obtained their guns legally and slipped through the cracks of the existing background check system. The Manchin-Toomey bill addresses this by encouraging states to provide their available records into the federal database and directing future grant money towards creating systems to send records into the database. The bill will also reduce federal funds to states that do not comply.

MYTH
Background checks will lead to a gun registry. “The Democrats’ proposed legislation would require universal background checks for private sales between law-abiding citizens, which according to DOJ would be effective only if accompanied by a national gun registry. ” [Sen. Ted Cruz, 4/9/2013]

REALITY
Federally licensed gun dealers have conducted background checks for more than 40 years without ever creating a national gun registry, which federal law specifically prohibits. Under this agreement, federal dealers would conduct screenings for private sellers and keep the record; the federal government would not. When a gun is recovered at a violent crime, law enforcement can use the records to track down the perpetrator. All information identifying the buyer generated by the background check would be destroyed by law enforcement within 24 hours. The Manchin-Toomey amendment explicitly bans the federal government from creating a registry in three different places and treats the misuse of records for the pursue of creating a registry as a felony punishable by 15 years in prison.

MYTH
Background checks wouldn’t have prevented Newtown. “The reality is, when you look at the tragedy of Newtown, nothing that’s been proposed would have any effect on that at all.” [Sen. John Boozman, 4/10/2013]

REALITY
As Toomey admitted during a press conference announcing the measure, background checks will not prevent every gun crime, but they can keep hundreds of thousands of people who shouldn’t have weapons from obtaining them. For instance, it’s estimated that 62 percent of private gun sellers on the Internet and 63 percent of private sellers at gun shows have agreed to sell a firearm to buyers who said they probably couldn’t pass a background check. More than 6.6 million gun sales were transferred in 2012 without a criminal background check and a survey of prisoners who committed crimes with handguns found nearly 80 percent of them acquired their firearm from a person who was not a licensed dealer.

MYTH
Obama isn’t prosecuting people who fail background checks. “[T]he Obama Administration has failed to make this a priority — in 2010, out of more than 15,700 fugitives and felons who tried to illegally purchase a firearm, the Obama Justice Department prosecuted only 44.” [Sen. Ted Cruz, 3/28/2013]

REALITY
Federal firearm prosecutions has remained steady, varying by no more than 5 percent each year, data from the Department of Justice reveals. Republicans and the NRA specifically cherry pick prosecutions for background checks to imply that the Obama administration has stopped enforcing existing law, though it has gone after gun-related crimes at the same rate as its predecessors. Law enforcement officials often see these cases as a poor use of resources because prosecutors must prove that “the person knew they were lying when they tried to purchase the firearm” in order to secure a conviction which “usually carries a maximum sentence of just six months.”

MYTH
Obama isn’t enforcing the laws on the books. “It’s not about new gun laws; it’s about enforcing the ones we have.” [Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), 4/4/2013]

REALITY
The laws on the books are inadequate. Criminals and mentally ill individuals can buy guns at gun shows or online and many who go through a federally licensed dealer often slip through the cracks because states are not putting records into the NICS system. In fact, following the Newtown tragedy, the NRA successfully attached riders to the resolution funding the government through September that limited enforcement tools against crooked dealers and interfered with ATF gun trace reports. That’s why the Manchin-Toomey bill expands checks and improves the existing system.

MYTH
Background checks are an invasion of privacy. “You just worry that you’re going to see searches of the databases and an expansion for purposes that were not intended when the information was collected.” [ACLU, 4/4/2013]

REALITY
Federally licensed gun dealers have successfully performed millions of background checks without violating personal privacy and Americans disclose personal information to the DMV or the IRS and their data is successfully walled off from nefarious uses.

The second season of Raw/Cooked presents a series of four exhibitions by under-the-radar Brooklyn artists who have been invited by the Brooklyn Museum with support from Bloomberg to show their first major museum exhibitions. The artists are given the opportunity to work with the Museum’s collection and to display in spaces of their choosing, however unconventional.

The four artists in the series were recommended by an advisory board of well-known Brooklyn artists, including Michael Joo, Paul Ramírez Jonas, Amy Sillman, and Mickalene Thomas, each of whom proposed several promising artists. Brooklyn Museum curator Eugenie Tsai made the final selections.

The seventh exhibition in the Raw/Cooked series, titledSupple Beat, presents the work of Gowanus-based artist Marela Zacarias. Recommended by Ramírez Jonas, Zacarias has created four site-specific sculptural works inspired by the Williamsburg Murals, uniting her interests in abstract forms, the history of objects, and urban renewal. Her large-scale pieces appear to be climbing the walls of the Museum’s first-floor lobby and Great Hall, interacting with the architecture as if they were murals come to life. Zacarias draws on the concept of resilience implied by the Williamsburg Murals and explores the idea of bouncing back from adversity, relating to the history of the public housing project for which the murals were commissioned and the history of the works themselves. She constructs her unique sculptural forms from window screens and joint compound, which she then paints with original patterns. In Supple Beat, Zacarias’s patterns are inspired by the related murals’ unique color palettes and geometric forms. Born and raised in Mexico City, Zacarias has painted more than thirty large-scale public murals. She holds an MFA from Hunter College.

Gutai: Splendid Playground, a retrospective of the Gutai Art Association (1954–72), the radically inventive and influential Japanese artistic collective whose innovative and playful approaches to installation and performance yielded one of the most important international avant-garde movements to emerge after World War II. Based on fifteen years of research, Gutai: Splendid Playground provides a critical examination of both iconic and lesser-known examples of the collective's dynamic output over its two decade history and explores the full spectrum of Gutai’s creative production: painting, performance, installation art, sound art, experimental film, kinetic art, light art, and environment art. Gutai: Splendid Playground is the first North American museum exhibition devoted to the Gutai group and offers a comprehensive interpretation of the convention-defying movement.

The exhibition also includes documentary films of the group’s historic outdoor exhibitions and stage events and offers a focus on their eponymous journal as a platform for international artistic exchange. A centerpiece of Gutai: Splendid Playground is a site-specific commission of Work (Water)(1956/2011) by the late Motonaga Sadamasa. Prior to his death in 2011, Motonaga reimagined his iconic early Gutai outdoor installation, made of plastic tubes filled with colored water, for the Guggenheim rotunda.

This retrospective exhibition traces the development of Chim's career as an intellectually engaged photojournalist, placing his life and work in the broader context of 1930s–50s photography and European politics. Born Dawid Szymin in Warsaw, Chim (who after WWII published under the name David Seymour) began his career in 1933 photographing for leftist magazines in Paris. In 1936, along with his friends Robert Capa and Gerda Taro, Chim traveled to Spain to photograph the civil war in support of the Republican side, publishing regularly in all the major European and American picture magazines. Chim was an astute observer of 20th-century European political affairs, workers' rights, and culture, from the beginnings of the antifascist struggle to the rebuilding of countries ravaged by World War II. The exhibition will showcase over 120 mainly vintage black-and white and color prints, publications in which his work originally appeared, contact sheets, and personal material. The exhibition is organized by ICP Curator Cynthia Young.

Edvard Munch’s iconic The Scream (1895) is among the most celebrated and recognized images in art history. Of the four versions of The Scream made by Munch between 1893 and 1910, this pastel-on-board from 1895 is the only one remaining in private hands; the three other versions are in the collections of museums in Norway. The Scream is being lent by a private collector.

A haunting rendition of a hairless figure on a bridge under a yellow-orange sky, The Scream has captured the popular imagination since the time of its making. The image was originally conceived by Munch as part of his epic Frieze of Life series, which explored the progression of modern life by focusing on the themes of love, angst, and death. Especially concerned with the expressive representation of emotions and personal relationships, Munch was associated with the international development of Symbolism during the 1890s and recognized as a precursor of 20th-century Expressionism.

El objetivo es lograr una reforma migratoria seria y justa que lleve a la ciudadanía plena a los 11 millones de inmigrantes que también hacen grande a este país.

UNA LUZ PARA VENEZUELA EN TIMES SQUARE, NYC

'UNA LUZ PARA VENEZUELA' CONVOCA UNA VIGILIA MUNDIAL EN MEMORIA DE LOS MAS DE 100 MIL MUERTOS A MANOS DE LA VIOLENCIA EN LA ULTIMA DECADA.

El evento se realizará en todo el mundo el 7 de Abril a las 7PM. Ya sea en reuniones públicas, plazas, iglesias, asociaciones de vecinos, en sus balcones o en sus ventanas, el llamado es a encender una vela (real o virtual) y unirse a la Vigila, exigiendo el cese de las muertes debido a la violencia desatada y la implementación de un plan serio y eficaz que afronte y controle este azote social.

Para promover la Vigilia Mundial, UNA LUZ PARA VENEZUELA ha lanzado una campaña en las redes sociales para invitar a la participación masiva aún antes de la Vigilia Mundial del 7 de Abril. Venezuela ocupa uno de los primeros lugares mundiales en las estadísticas de muertes violentas y Caracas, su capital, es una de las ciudades más peligrosas del mundo. La ONG Observatorio Venezolano para la Violencia estima que “han sido más de 170 mil muertes desde el año 2000”. Solo en el 2012 calculan más de 21 mil muertes debido a lo violencia, lo que representa una tasa de 73 muertes por cada cien mil habitantes, y un incremento del 12% con respecto al año 2012. *
Caracas, ciudad de unos 5 millones de habitantes, reporta más de 400 muertes por violencia CADA MES. ( 420 muertes en Enero 2013 )** A forma de comparación, la ciudad de Nueva York con mas de 8 millones de habitantes reportó 414 muertes debido a la violencia en TODO el 2011. *** Este año 2013 se perfila aún peor. MARRIAGE EQUALITY AND SCOTUS MAKING HISTORY

The Supreme Court is, for the first time ever, hearing arguments in two historic cases dealing with marriage equality. Yesterday was the day for Prop. 8 and today, the oral arguments will be about DOMA. No decision will be made until June so let's hold on the hope that equality and civil rights will gain the day. Equality for all. Simple as that.

Our friends at Think Progress put this little brief for us on what you need to know about these two cases and how the High Court could come down.

** Case #1 (Tuesday): Hollingsworth v. Perry

At issue: California’s Proposition 8, the same-sex marriage ban approved by California voters in 2008.

Legal Questions:
Is it unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause for California to prohibit marriage equality?
California’s governor and attorney general stopped defending the measure several years ago, so a group of cities and Prop. 8 proponents stepped in to defend the law in their place. The Supreme Court must decide if it was even proper for this group to have been allowed to do so in the first place.

Possible Outcomes:
* Marriage equality for everyone, everywhere.
* Marriage equality in some places now, everywhere else later. One route proposed by the Obama administration would result in marriage equality right now in California and other states that have civil union laws that are essentially marriage in everything but name. Legally speaking, if California’s ban is deemed unconstitutional, bans in other states would then also be difficult to defend. As the president said recently, he can’t think of any reason why any state’s ban should be valid.
* Marriage equality just in California. The Court could tailor a narrow opinion that invalidates Prop. 8, but doesn’t really advance jurisprudence in a way that is particularly useful anywhere else.
Marriage equality in California, probably. The Court could use the second question about legal standing to dodge making a decision on the merits, which would leave the district court decision invalidating Prop. 8 in place. There are some unresolved questions about how this particular approach would play out.
* No marriage equality in California, at least for now. The Court could reverse the lower courts and leave Prop. 8 in place. The only way it could then be undone is by voters through yet another ballot measure or in a future Supreme Court case heard by a more progressive Court. A poll out last week found that 61 percent of California’s now support marriage equality, making this route likely to succeed if also costly, time-consuming, and limited only to California.

** Case #2 (Wednesday): United States v. Windsor

At Issue: The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the 1996 law that bars federal recognition of same-sex marriages.

Legal Questions:
Whether Section 3 of DOMA, the part of the law that bars the federal government from recognizing same-sex couples for purposes of taxation, federal benefits, and more than 1,000 other rights or responsibilities, violates the legal married same couples’ guarantees of equal protection under the Fifth Amendment.
As with the Prop. 8 case, there are technical legal questions about whether the Supreme Court is even allowed to hear the case. First, can the Court hear the case since the executive branch already agrees with lower courts that the law is unconstitutional? After the Department of Justice stopped defending the law, House Republicans took up the cause of defending discrimination and have spent millions of taxpayer dollars doing so. The Court must decide if House Republicans are allowed, legally speaking, to stand in for the executive branch.

Possible Outcomes:
* Marriage equality for everyone. The Court could simply rule that DOMA is unconstitutional because everyone has a constitutional right to marry the partner of their choice.
* Marriage equality in some places. The Court could strike down DOMA and allow legally married same-sex couples to receive the same federal benefits as straight couples, but not rule on whether there is a broader constitutional right to marriage equality. Depending on how strongly worded such a decision is, it could make it difficult to defend other anti-gay laws and state marriage bans. Another version of this outcome could be decided on the basis of the Tenth Amendment, but this would establish a highly unfortunate precedent that could be dangerous for the social safety net.
* Muddled mess. If the Court decides that it lacks jurisdiction for either or both of the reasons mentioned above, nobody is quite sure what exactly will happen. It’s possible that DOMA could remain valid everywhere but New York and New England (the federal circuit courts where the challenges were initiated). Another theory says the Obama administration could refuse to enforce the law, but then that still leaves open the possibility that a future anti-gay President Rubio could revive the law.
* No change. The Court could disagree with the various lower courts that invalidated DOMA and find it to be constitutional. In this case, the only ways to get rid of DOMA would be a future case before a less conservative Supreme Court or Congressional repeal of DOMA. Senators and members of the House have already introduced a bill, the Respect for Marriage Act, to accomplish the latter.

Several years ago, Argentine musician and composer Gustavo Santaolalla, together with Uruguayan musician-producer Juan Campodónico, conceived of a group that would be a collective of Argentine and Uruguayan artists dedicated to creating "contemporary music of the Rio de la Plata," the body of water that separates the two countries. The project, which debuted under the name Bajofondo Tango Club, was an alliance of producers, musicians, and singers that took shape in the recording studio, resulting in an inimitable tango-fusion blend. The group's first album, the self-titled Bajofondo Tango Club (2002), won a Latin Grammy for Best Instrumental Pop Album in 2003 and sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide.

In their fifteen years together as a band, celebrated Los Angeles culture-mashers Ozomatli have gone from being hometown heroes to being named U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors. Their music — a notorious urban-Latino-and-beyond collision of hip hop and salsa, dancehall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa, East LA R&B and New Orleans second line, Jamaican ragga and Indian raga— has long followed a key mantra: it will take you around the world by taking you around L.A. Originally formed to play at a Los Angeles labor protest over a decade ago, Ozomatli spent some of their early days participating in everything from earthquake prep “hip hop ghetto plays” at inner-city elementary schools to community activist events, protests, and city fundraisers. Ever since, they have been synonymous with their city: their music has been taken up by both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Clippers, they recorded the street-view travelogue “City of Angels” as a new urban anthem, and they were featured as part of the prominent L.A. figures imaging campaign “We Are 4 L.A.” on NBC, and have the distinction of headlining the Hollywood Bowl twice in 2008 and 2010. Ozomatli has spent 15 years working diligently to spread its message of peace, communication and understanding through music, with a long standing tradition of performing for children all over the world, from the schools of North St. Louis to the orphanages of Southeast Asia. 2011 has the band focused on “oZoKidZ”, a special family friendly set geared towards performing for children and adults alike. The band are currently in the studio with acclaimed producer Tony Berg, recording a children’s album for release in 2011, followed by a book, DVD and tour.

Bomba Estéreo came together as a project organized by Simon Mejia in 2005, forming within the rich underground electronic scene that has become Bogota, Colombia. Recruiting fierce singer Liliana Saumet to join the group, Bomba Estéreo expanded its sound and captivating live show. The group plays an explosive dance-fusion of electronic dub and hip-hop, in a similar vein as M.I.A. and Santigold, mixed with Colombian rhythms like cumbia and champeta.
Bomba made their U.S. debut at SXSW 2009, an experience that helped establish the group and their latest release, “Blow Up.” In the last several months, the group has toured everywhere from New York and Brazil out to London and Dublin. In the summer of 2009, they rocked the European festival circuit, with ecstatic crowds like the 10,000 at Denmark’s prestigious Roskilde Festival.
The influence of Afro Colombian rhythms and the coastal sounds is especially important to Bomba Estereo’s music. Saumet grew up on the Colombian coast in a city called Santa Marta. “It’s a small city with a beautiful and mystical force,” she explains. “The indigenous people call it the ‘heart of the world.’ Ever since I was young, I had the opportunity to listen to such a wide variety of music, from local folk music to sounds arriving from Africa and the United States. I think that mix is reflected in our own music.”

Mexican Latin pop duet Sentidos Opuestos was formed by local producer Miguel Blasco in the early 1990s. Alessandra Rosaldo started singing at the age of 12, soon becoming a backup singer for Latin star Lucero. Joined by Chacho Gaytán, the act released a self-titled debut album in 1993, getting their songs "Historias De Amor" and "Escribeme En El Cielo" climbing on local charts. A year later, Sentidos Opuestos recorded Al Sol Que Mas Calienta, moving to Barcelona, Spain, to make Viviendo Del Futuro, produced by Eduardo Posada and released in 1996. After issuing Viento A Favor in 1998, Chacho Gaytán began working as a producer and arranger while Alessandra Rosaldo was making her debut as an actress in a soap opera called DKDA: Sueños de Juventud. In the year 2000, Sentidos Opuestos returned with Movimiento Perpetuo. Their last album was En Vivo (2001). It has been reported that on 2012 a duet reunion will occur. They are currently recording a new album, and will likely tour to promote it.

August 26th, 1971, New York gives birth to a sound that would change the face of Latin Music forever. That evening at the reknown Cheetah Nightclub, Jerry Massucci, president of the legendary label FANIA, presented an ensemble of its best artists- THE FANIA ALL-STARS. The show was billed as "Our Latin Thing". In the decades ahead the FANIA ALL-STARS would become the ambassadors and juggernauts of Latin Music around the world. They became the musical reflection of the times, needs, and struggles of New York's Latino community. Their music was "Salsa Gorda", influenced by American Jazz, Soul, and Rock and Roll. Their music became part of Americana.
Billed as "Our Latin Thing", the 17-piece group performs as an assortment of the FANIA ALL STARS' top hits. This Musical/Theatrical like revue, will take the audience on a musical poetic journey. "Our Latin Thing", in it's own right, is an All Star group, made up of lead singers and musicians of New York's top young bands.

A protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, Sandoval was born in Artemisa, a small town in the outskirts of Havana, Cuba, on November 6, 1949, just two years after Gillespie became the first musician to bring Latin influences into American Jazz. Sandoval began studying classical trumpet at the age of twelve, but it didn’t take him long to catch the excitement of the jazz world. He has since evolved into one of the world’s most acknowledged guardians of jazz trumpet and flugel horn, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer.
He is one of the most dynamic and vivacious live performers of our time, and has been seen by millions at the Oscars performing with Celine Dion, at the Grammy Awards with Justin Timberlake and as a leader, as well as on the Billboard Awards with Alicia Keys.

A pianist with a brilliant technique and a composer that flavors his tunes with Afro-Caribbean rhythms, Michel Camilo's musical language is an expressive combination of his Dominican Republic musical heritage and a rich, intelligent use of jazz harmonies and textures. Camilo composed his first piece at age five then studied at the National Conservatory for thirteen years. At age sixteen, he became a member of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic.
In 1979, he moved to New York City where he furthered his education at Mannes and the Juilliard School of Music. Since his 1985 Carnegie Hall debut and his 1987 composer debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic, Camilo has become a leading figure in jazz in the US, Europe, Japan, and the Caribbean. November of 1988 marked his debut on a major record label with the release of his self- titled album, Michel Camilo (Sony).

A trio of virtuoso violinists, singer-songwriters, composers, and arrangers, they have performed at the Latin Grammy Awards, Carnegie Hall, the Guggenheim Museum, Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the 60th Anniversary of the United Nations, Rockefeller Center, the New York Mets field at Shea Stadium, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, New Victory Theatre, and Teatro Amadeo Roldán in Havana among other historic venues.

Magos Herrera (Mexico) and Sofia Rei (Argentina) present Sur 2 South, an evening of music that celebrates North and South America from different perspectives. Both ground-breaking artists are currently based in New York City and have captivated audiences internationally, being considered two of the most beautiful and charismatic voices of their generation.

Formed in Barcelona in the mid-'90s, Latin rock outfit Jarabe de Palo was the brainchild of guitarist and frontman Pau Dones, along with drummer Alex Tenas, bassist Joan Gene, and drummer Dani Forcada. The band made its first big splash with its 1996 album La Flaca, the title track from which became the song of the summer in Spain in 1997. Determined not to be a one-hit wonder, Dones led his band through a series of successful releases over the next decade, including Depende (1998), De Vuelta y Vuelta (2001), Grandes Exitos (2003), Un Metro Cuadrado 1m2 (2004), and Adelantando (2007).
In 2008, Jarabe de Palo announced it was departing from its longtime record label, EMI Music Spain, and going independent. The band compressed the letters in its name and founded its own imprint, releasing a new album, Orquestra Reciclando, the following year. Featuring new versions of the band's own hits, the disc also featured a new song. Y Ahora Que Hacemos?, the band's latest album, came out last year.
